Stay Cool With Evian

The weather these past few days have been crazy hot with temperatures in the 90's. With this heatwave in full effect I know I'm definitely looking to stay cool. The Evian hydrating facial spray has so many amazing benefits for your skin during the summer months. It hydrates and purifies the skin with a unique balance of minerals to leave skin looking healthy and glowing.

I love to take this spray with me on beach days or during outdoor activities such as hiking to keep me cool through out the day. Boho Home Decor

This hanging planter is one of my favorite decor pieces in my room. It has a special place in my heart as my grandmother made the macrame hanging for my mom when she was younger. This was a piece that my mom had hanging in her college dorm room and continue to hang in my childhood home. I've always loved this hanging planer and was so excited when my mom recently let me have it for my room.

I've been seeing hanging planters pop up everywhere as a unique way to decorate a room. Its a nice alternative to only having plants in planters. I think it especially looks eye-catching in rooms with high ceilings. I love decorating a room with plants. It has a nice fresh feeling and brings in some color.

Along with plants and planters, I like to decorate by adding boho elements with pillows, candles, and unique decor pieces. I love the rustic and earthy vibe it gives to a room. Going back through some old photos I realized that I had never posted this outfit. This look only includes a few colors of burnt orange, browns, and blacks, and I just love the combination of fall like colors. Although it's spring, these colors are some of my favorites to wear year round.

The temperatures might be rising slowly, but this is definitely the month of over cast and rainy days. I'm just waiting for warm sunny days and colorful outfits, but until then, I'll continue to wear black. My goal for the spring/summer is to add more color to my wardrobe, however, black has and will always be my favorite color for clothing. It just goes with everything!

8 Festival Essentials

With Spring weather in the air and the first weekend of Coachella complete, festival season has officially begun! It's my favorite time of year spending warm spring/summer days hanging with friends, listening to good music, and of course, cute boho outfits.

When going to a festival, there are some outfit staples that are both practical as well as trendy. I put together a few of my favorite pieces that will help create the perfect boho chic outfit. I love being creative with outfits and mixing and matching patterns and textures. Going to a festival is the best excuse to dress up and have some fun!

For a festival look I would consider pieces with fringe details, coin accessories, sunnies, comfy booties/sandals, hat, belt, cross-body bag or backpack, as these all add to create a boho look.

Embroidered Jeans

Spring is here along with embroidered denim! Floral embroidery on denim is definitely a spring trend to look out for. Jeans are one of my favorite closet staples because its so easy to style. This pair is perfect for spring with a slight floral embroidery on the bottom flare part and a small section on the back pocket. I really like that it's not too overwhelming and doesn't take up the entire length of the leg.

With emboridery I think its best to keep everything else simple as the floral detail should be your main statement. Since the weather is warming up but still on the chillier side, I paired the jeans with a cream fuzzy sweater and some boho accessories like a fringe backpack and bullhorn necklace.

These pictures were taken back in early October when we were strangely experiencing warm fall weather, which I Was definitely not complaining about. This called for being able to wear a tank top and be perfectly comfortable standing in the sun. I love when the weather nicely surprises you and makes outside fall activities much more enjoyable. Unfortunately, now we are dealing with freezing temperatures, I wouldn't mind going back to this weather a few months ago.

I have been loving these high waisted A Gold E ripped skinny jeans lately, and have been wearing them on repeat. The rips are more like slits thought the thigh of the leg rather than just large rips in just the knee area. They have been one of the most comfortable jeans I own. The fabric has a ton of stretch to it, which makes it feel like you aren't even wearing jeans. I wore this fitted Free People tank tucked in and paired it with an open chambray shirt that wasn't pictured here.

Morning Run

Last month I went on an early morning run with a friend along the beach. It was the perfect ways to start the morning. I just snapped a few photos after while watching the gloomy sun rise.

I love that I grew up so close to the beach. Its one of my favorite places to be, and always brings back good childhood memories. Whenever I'm visiting home, I always make my way to the water. Heading to the beach this time of year is the best since you can bring your pups along for a walk/ run, or just to even watch the sun rise or set. Nothing is better!

Back in early October, I went to visit an old working farm in my hometown in Connecticut. The farm was recently dedicated to the town's nature conservancy for public and educational use, the emphasizes the town's agricultural roots. The property still contains the existing farm house and barn from 1770, as well as a newly added community garden area.

I grew up right near this farm with all the rolling hills and acres upon acres of meadow fields. One of my favorite childhood memories was when Mr. Lachat (the owner), would let all the kids in the neighborhood go sledding on all his rolling hills. Always so much fun sledding down, but the walk back up was definitely a struggle in the snow lol.

Although it was early fall, there were still some flowers and crops growing in the community garden. I was pretty excited when I came across a few sunflowers that were still going strong. They are definitely one of my favorite flowers!

I wore this sheer lace Free People dress that has a cut out on the back and bell sleeves. I love all the detailing on this dress that makes it feel extra special. I recently purchased these Jeffrey Campbell booties and have been finding ways to wear them with almost every outfit. I have trouble finding booties that fit perfectly around my ankles. When I came across these boots that have wire and are adjustable around the ankle, I couldn't have been more exited. The taupe color is an ideal neutral shade as it can be worn with almost anything.

Unfortunately my dress was purchased a few years ago and I'm unable to find the exact one. Thankfully Free People has an endless amount of white lace dresses year after year, which made finding similar styles a breeze.

Tan Suede Moto Jackets For Fall

Recently I've been having an obsession over suede motorcycle jackets for the fall, specifically tan colored ones. This fall staple is one that will never go out of style as each year it keeps getting reinvented. I am really into jackets that have edgy details to them with diagonal zippers, bold hardware, and belted waists.

There are endless ways to wear this style. Wear it over dresses to balance the edginess with a more feminie piece, or even dress it down with some simple jeans and a tee. This is one item I would recommend investing in. Rather than splurging on something trendy, this is a piece you will wear season after season.

I just purchased the first one on the top row, which is by BLANKNYC. After only having it for a short period of time, it has already become my favorite/most worn jacket. It's a great price for a 100% real suede jacket and has the perfect snug fit. I purchased the tan color but you can choose from 7 different colors!

Hiking and Fishtail Braids

Hiking has overtime become one of my favorite activities. It's especially my favorite during the fall. Nothing beats an afternoon of walking through the woods with all the colorful trees. Plus add in the extra exercise your getting and your golden!

These pictures were taken back in September when the leaves had just started changing colors. However, I'm sure now the leaves would have been much more beautiful. The weather was this perfect combination of warm sunshine, but chilly enough to get away with wearing a light sweater. This is one of my favorite Free People sweaters with its uneven hemline, and open back knot detail. I find it to be super feminine and fun to wear with different types of bra's underneath. It's fun to layer with bralettes that have lacy, multiple straps, and cut out details. The bralette I'm wearing is also by Free People and has a high neckline in the front and cut out pattern on the front and the back.

I put my hair into double fishtail braids around the crown of my head, and combined them into one long fishtail braid down my back. I then decided to add another smaller fishtail braid down one side of my hair for an extra braided detail. This helped keep my hair out of my face during my hike, but also provided as a cute hairstyle for the rest of the day.

Apple Picking

Apple picking is an activity that always gets me fall ready. Nothing screams fall to me than some fresh apples, apple cider, cider donuts, and of course pumpkins!

When I was growing up we used to visit an apple orchard ever year to pick apples and get pumpkins. My favorite memory of the farm was taking a tractor hayride over to the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkins to carve.

This year, I decided to check out a different local apple orchard, which turned out to be just as great! I picked all types of apples including Golden Delicious, McIntosh, Cortland, Empire, Red, and more. My mom and I ended up using some of the apples to make a deliscious caramel apple crumble desert (which didn't last long lol).

When you first arrive you need to purchase your bag for collecting apples, and then you are ready to take the tractor ride up into the orchard. The ride up was short, but had some great views as your are heading up a mountain. Once you arrive to the location where apples are ripe and ready to picked, you are free to explore the orchard and collect as many apples as your bag can hold.

Nothing was better than being able to bite right into an apple I had just picked from the trees. They tasted so fresh and sweet.

Since the weather was pretty warm this day, I kept my outfit pretty casual. Walking along dirt paths and in-between tress I waned to make sure I had comfortable shoes on and ones that I wouldn't mind if they got a little dirty. I wore these slip on calf hair leopard sneakers, which were prefect for walking all day, but also added a fun texture and print to my otherwise plain outfit.

Fall Transition With Flannels

There is no better time of year than now. The weather has finally started to cool off, but still remains in the low 70's/high 60's, which is perfect for transitioning your summer wardrobe into fall.

One of my favorite style tips for the fall is layering using a flannel. Flannels are a fall must with all the different ways they can be worn. I love to simply tie a flannel around my waist to recreate that 90's grunge trend. The great thing about wearing a flannel around your waist is if you get cold, as I usually do, you can just throw it on as a cardigan and still have a complete outfit. I paired this look with an edgy metal choker to complete the 90's vibe. A leather jacket can also be worn for cooler days.

I paired the flannel with some ripped up jeans, and a graphic tee. I love Chaser's tee's, they are always super soft and comfy. This outfit was put together with such simple basics, but feels as though a lot of effort was put into it.

Florida Beach Room Decor

Nothing screams Florida to me more than sunshine, warm weather, palm trees, and beautiful beaches. It was always fun going to South Florida to visit my family when i was young, and one of my favorite destinations. When I was younger my mom, grandma, sister, and I would go and visit new home communities to look at all the model homes. I would always admire how beautifully they were decorated. I remember my sister and I would always have fun pretending which bedroom would be ours in each of the model homes. ;)

After viewing many different model homes over the years, I definitely noticed how much the Florida lifestyle inspires the home decor. Florida style is all about bright colors, beach decor, and floral decorations. Applying characters of the coast to your home such as adding vibrant accent colors either on your home's exterior or interior will instantly put you in that Florida mindset.

When creating a Florida beach inspired room I started by creating a color palette in order to draw inspraiton. I took a picture of a Florida beach below, and used that for a base for the colors that I would be using in the room I am decorating. The picture I picked has tons of different blues, tans, creams, and neutral colors which will be used as the main colors for my room. This gives me an idea of colors when it comes to shopping for decor and furniture pieces.

In order to create an illusion of living in Florida, I used a palette of natural colors for this living room space created above. Using geometric shapes, and textures with pops of colors helps lighten up the space and give it that Florida summery feel. I love the look of a crisp white room. To me it feels clean and calm, and is easy to accent using fun colors. I added different shades of turquoise, aqua, and blues to recreate a serene ocean feel. Adding some bamboo and palm type plants in the room not only add more color, but also brings Florida's beautiful nature indoors.

Keeping all the furniture neutral colors definitely makes the impression of a coastal room. The ocean style painting, starfish decor, and blue glass bottles were used to mimic the look of a beach house. I also love to use throw pillows for color and texture within a room. It brightens the natural based room and gives the room a cozy feeling.

Chicago Beach

Back in August I took a trip out to Chicago to visit my sister for my 25th birthday weekend! I'm such a beach girl, so of course I had to check out Chicago's great beaches. We ventured up to Oak Street Beach, which has the most incredible views of the city's skyline. Laying on on the sand looking up at all the massive buildings surrounding you is really breathtaking. We also walked along the water up to North Avenue Beach, which was also just as beautiful. There was an ocean liner inspired building that has an open upper deck for grabbing a drink or taking in the amazing views of the lake and city.

I wore this turquoise and black reversible bikini by L'Space. I really love that L'Space offers reversible bathing suits. It gives you so many more options for colors and to mix and match tops and bottoms. The multiple straps on the back are my favorite part. Warning - it will give you a strange tan line but its ok because it's super cute ;)

Over my bathing suit I wore a simple flow dress by Show Me Your MUMU. This dress is the perfect piece to wear to the beach, date night, weekend trips, etc. It is also great because the fabric is essentially wrinkle free so it's great to just throw in your bag and go.

6 Tips For Decorating Your Home

Decorating a home can be an exciting and creative challenge. Below are a few of my tips when it comes to adding decor and desiging your space.

1. Decide what you like - figure out your decorating style. One of the easiest ways to figure out what decor style apeals to you is by looking at photos. It gives you an idea before taking a risk and purchasing something and not liking it. My favorite way to find inspiration and decor ideas is through websites like Pinterest. I can search there for hours on home decor and decorations. I love seeing so many different types of decor styles and what I think would work best for me and my home. Pinterest allows you to create boards specific to your interest. You can go though and pin pictures of inspiration and styles you are looking for. It will give you an overview of what pieces you should be looking for when going shopping.

2. Sketch a floor plan - having a floor plan before you start moving furniture around or decorating is an important step. My mom is a contractor and owns her own design build firm, and I would always love watching her create these sketches for floor plans before any building or designing takes places. This gives you an overview idea of where furniture will be placed as well as the measurements to see if it will fit where you want it to go before actually taking to the time to move it around. For those of us who are not professional designers like my mom, this sketch is something that could appear difficult, however there are many free floor plan programs online (like this one here) that are easy to use and provide templates to give you a perspective of how your floor plan will translate into real life.

3. Choosing a color scheme - once you have a color palette selected, you can select the rest of the decor pieces. In high school, my mom and I were planning on redecorating my bedroom. I already had a white bed, white dressers, and a white desk. My mom came across a few pictures that really helped her draw some inspiration for my room color palette. Having images is another great way to help you select a color theme. She found images of rooms that has chocolate brown accents with bright white. At first I was skeptical of these colors but once I started to see her vision I was totally on board. We ended up selecting a custom brown color for my walls, and installing white carpet to go along with all my white furniture. We both love white as a good neutral color for decoration and went with the brown on the walls as my room had super high ceilings and tons of bright light. Although my walls were painted a glossy dark brown, the white everywhere else helped to make the room still feel open. Lastly, we decided to go with an accent color of orange and gold which are some of my favorite colors, but also worked perfectly along side the brown walls. Accent colors for decor is great because it gives you the option to swap that color out whenever you change your mind to give the room a completely different feel just by changing small pieces. We used orange and gold in pillows, wall art, picture frames, glass vases, and other decor pieces to tie the room together.

4. Shop on a budget - if you are looking to decorate on a budget, save when it comes to accessories. Some of my favorite places to shop for home decor pieces are HomeGoods, Target, and Ikea. I also love Urban Outfitters and World Market for some unique fun pieces. You can pick up great pieces such as mirrors, pillows, throws, lamps, picture frames, wall art, and little decor pieces for great affordable prices. There is no need to spend a ton of money on decor accessories. These are little things that can easily get changed periodically if you decide you want to switch things up, and won't need to worry about having spent a fortune on the decor pieces you no longer want.

5. DIY decor - some of my favorite home decor pieces I have are ones the i've made myself. Its a budget friendly and custom piece. Things I have made for my home include a dream catcher, jewelry display, wall art, table trays, etc. I loved making these pieces as they add a personalized touch to your rooms. You can even update something you already own. For example, you can paint an old piece of furniture to make it feel new again. There are endless DIY projects for home decor peices that anyone can easily make. If you are more artistic paint a canvas wall art. If you have a beachy home vibe maybe make some wall display using driftwood. If you like a more boho home you can make a dreamcatcher like the one i've made below.

6. Antiquing - searching for antiques by going to flee markets, yard sales, auction houses, etc. are great ways to pick up some unique treasures. I've recently come across Invaluable which is an online site that provides fine art, antiques, and other great collectable items. Invaluable is the world's largest online live auction shop. It brings together collectors and dealers to bid in auctions all around the world. You can find all types of things including fine art, fashion, jewelry, furniture, and decor pieces. Summer Essentials With MakeSpace

Do you ever find yourself filling up your closet more quickly during season changes? For me, whenever the weather changes I always find myself shopping for new trendy items that I can wear all season long. Because of my shopping habits, I find it difficult to make room in my closet for my new things. Cozy And Cute Winter Nights With Adore Me

Winter is officially here, and Christmas is only a day away! So, I thought I would share how I stay warm and comfy on cold winter nights.

One of my favorite things to do on a cold winter night is to cuddle up with my dogs on the couch or in my bed and watch some shows and movies on Netflix. Making popcorn or cookies and watching a movie is always my go to for a cold night at home.

The first thing I usually do when I get home is put on some sweats and socks, or slippers. My favorite socks are ones that fit over my knee. I love how they keep your legs warm, but still allow you to look chic and feel good. They are perfect to wear with an oversized nightshirt or flannel. Free People has the best thigh high socks.

Making a warm drink like a tea or hot chocolate always gets me into a cozy mood. Its a great way to relax from your day and warm up from being outside in the cold. I also love to light candles around my home. The scent and soft lighting they provide instantly creates a homey vibe.

For the past few weeks I have been using the HASK keratin protein collection on my hair. I have very long hair that can be a bit dry and damaged at times, so I am always willing to try new products that will help restore my hair. You can easily pick up all of these products online at HASK, Amazon, or even in your local ULTA or Target.

Keratin is the key ingredient in the Hask Keratin Protein collection. All these products are free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol and artificial colors.

Shampoo & Conditioner | The smoothing shampoo and conditioner have a weightless formula that helps enhance the shine of hair as well as frizz and damage. It has a really nice soft floral scent, which lasted on my hair for a few days. I only wash my hair once or twice a week because I have pretty dry hair and do not have the need to wash every day. This product really cleans my hair well and repels dirt and oil making it easier to go longer between washes. When using this product I also noticed that I was using my dry shampoo less that usual.

Smoothing Shine Oil | I have used a bunch of hair oils in the past, but this one really leaves my dry hair shiny and smooth without feeling weighed down or oily. When I use this on my hair wet or dry, I noticed that it really helps with frizz making it look less damaged, and makes my hair feel overall healthier.

Smoothing Deep Conditioner | The HASK deep conditioner is a restorative, moisturizing hair conditioner which really works to leave hair smooth, shiny, frizz free. This is a product that I would use probably every other week or when my hair feels like it needs some extra moisture. It helps to repair damage, reduce breakage, and helps reduce static and drying time. I use this after I shampoo and condition my hair. I will leave it in for anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes and rinse out.

One fall trend that I've been seeing all over stores, is the button front skirt. I love the 70's and bohemian fashion trends with flared jeans, bell sleeves, denim skirts and fringe vests. This skirt is a great way to add a 70's feel to any outfit without feeling too over the top. It's something that is super easy to dress up and down. The suede texture is perfect for the fall time especially in neutral tones like orange, tan, or green. Pair it with a chunky knit sweater for a relaxed look, or a blouse for a look that is more put together. This is something that can be easily transitioned from day to night by adding tights and booties. I'll definitely be wearing this trend this fall! How will you wear it?

Trip to the Arboretum

Dress, Sweater and Sandals Free People, Bag Rebecca Minkoff, Necklaces Nashelle & The M Jewelers

The other day my mom and I decided to take a trip to our local Arboretum, which was like an outdoor museum of trees and flowers. There was an abundance of colorful flowers and even a beautiful green house. I wore this Free People floral slip that felt appropriate for the day. The flowers have a watercolor effect, which creates a softer more feminine feel. I love how the dress has an extra layered fabric that creates an uneven hem line. Adding a knit sweater brings in a nice mix of texture to the chiffon dress and offers a warmer layer as the weather gets colder. This is one of my favorite sweaters to just throw on over any outfit. I actually ended up buying it in both orange and black! I wore these wrap up sandals that have been a favorite of mine this summer, but they can easily be swapped out for booties for a more fall appropriate look.

Jeans Hudson, Sandals Billabong

I always love going to the beach, especially around sunset. Something about walking along the beach at the end of the day is so peaceful and calming. These pictures were taken a few weeks ago while visiting my hometown in Connecticut. Although Fall is right around the corner, I just had to share some of these beautiful beach pictures as summer slowly fades away. These Billabong crochet sandals have been one of my summer staples along with my white Hudson skinny jeans. They might be summer basics, but I will definitely continue to wear them as the weather transitions into fall. Just add a chunky knit sweater and some booties and you're all set!

Pool Day

A few weeks ago I spent a day off hanging by the pool. I just love days like this with nothing to do but relax. Here are some snaps of my accessories I wore during the day. The two white beaded bracelets are by Chan Luu, and i absolutely love them! They were surprisingly affordable compared to most Chan Luu bracelets which can range close to $200! I also recently got this statement turquoise ring from Free People. I love the contrast of the light and dark turquoise stones. Free People has so many unique and different stone rings I just want them all!

Pocket Tank and Jeans

Free people always has the most comfortable tank tops. I have a few different styles, but I love this new one I just got on sale! It has a slouchy pocket in the front and a racerback. Since the top is super baggy I wore it with a lacey bralette which added texture and detail to the simple tank. I also paired it with my favorite Hudson jeans and some old leopard sandals. I love easy pieces like this tank that you can just throw on and head out the door.
