Oh life!

I miss summer time.
I miss being able to sleep in and not feel bad.
I miss having time to have fun and not worry
about the chapter I have to read for class.
I miss being able to relax when the weekend came.

These are the feelings I've been having lately.
I'm loving school, and the classes I'm taking,
but I'm really starting to get behind in everything.

I keep forgetting to read for class until the last
minute, and then I run out of time. I try to practice
a lot at school, but sometime it doesn't feel like it's enough.

I wish there were 48 hours in a day just so I could
get more done and still be able to function.
My schedule for the week is get up at 530 AM,
get ready, drive 45 minutes to get to school, and
leave school at the latest 645 PM, drive
back home 45 minutes, eat and be in the
bed (hopefully) at 930 PM and then
repeat the whole process again the next day.

When I get home all I want to do is sleep.
I try to get stuff done at school, but I tend to
talk too much to my friends at school. I really think
I need to find a quiet place away from the world
and get my shit done lol.

Sorry for this vent, I just wanted you to know
that 1) I'm still alive, and 2)I'm crazy busy over here.

I've recently bacame a cheerleader for the
local Roller Derby team. I think I've talked
about this already. I'm loving all things derby.

Youtube Wednesday

I've found another tutorial for y'all for
today's YouTube Wednesday.

I used to watch the videos from Threadbanger
religiously. I was very sad to see them go, but
Corrine has returned with videos through
Craft magazine.

I love shoes, and am broke. This is a great tutorial
to add a little bling to your life.

Speaking of bling, I'm going to be updating my shop
hopefully in the next week or so.

Foodie Tuesday

This is going to be a new blog series for me.
My doctor recently told me that I need
to give up bread and pastas, and need
to eat more veggies and fruits.

Sounds simple right? Wrong!! You see,
I LOVE bread and pastas. She did tell me
that I could eat whole grain bread so it's
not the end of the world, but does make things
a bit more difficult. Well in hopes of
making myself as well as my family a bit
healthier, I've decided to start cooking
a bit more at home rather than
2-3 times a week. We usually eat out most
of the week, so this too will be a struggle.

My hopes for this blog is to keep myself
from falling back into that rut of eating out.
I'm going to try to keep myself accountable by
posting a recipe that I've found, or tweaked
and tried to make. It will be like a
review of the new recipes I try.

If you have any recipes that you think I would like,
please email me at lilcoop1@gmail.com with
the subject "Blog Recipes." This is going to be
an adventure for me, and I want you to come along
with me :D

I will start posting new recipes next Tuesday

And I'm back!!!
Did you miss me? because I missed you!!

So for today's MM, I'm playing The Who.
The Who is by far one of my favorite bands.
I know most of their hits, I love the movie
Tommy. (Seriously y'all need to see it
if you haven't!)

The song is Baba O'Riley (AKA Teenage Wasteland)
This is my favorite song by them mostly
for the violin solo at the end. It sounds very
gypsy-like and just amazing. One day
I will be able to play that part lol.

I just wanted to give y'all a quick update on what has been going on lately. I started back to college on the 15th. All of my classes are really amazing :) I've made a few friends. They are all super nice.

I've really been missing blogging and Etsy bad. Between school, derby, and being with Travis, I don't have a whole lot of time for much else. I'm hoping I can work on that. Maybe I will try once a week blogging and get everything for Etsy sorted out on the weekends.

I miss you guys so much. I promise here will be a bigger post about school than this. I just wanted to let y'all know that I'm still alive over here

Update/Real Talk time

Hi guys!!
So here's a bit of what's been going on with me
since my last blog post:

1. I spent 5 amazing days at the beach with my two BFFs
2. I got burnt at the beach, which is now a tan thank God!!
3. Practiced my guitar a lot to prepare for my audition.
4. I had my audition, which I will tell you more about
in a few.
5. I went to 3 different music stores in 2 days lol. 2 of them
were the same people though. (I got several
new pics in different colors for the shop, and
a manuscript notebook that has very bright colors yay)
6. Been couponing my but off. (I saved almost $30
yesterday at Target!)
7. Woke up at 615 this morning trying to
get into school sleep mode. (so hard!)
8. And now me and my mom are getting ready
to go grocery shopping/couponing.

Yup I've been busy lol.
I have some jewelry to put together

Ok so the story about the audition:
In March I originally auditioned for the music
department at GC&SU on the violin. I had been taking lessons
in Columbus on the violin for the past couple of months.
I was excited to continue with it once again. Well, after I auditioned,
they told me I would have to take remedial lessons. This would mean
that I wouldn't be taking lessons that would count towards my grade.
I also took a theory test that day, I didn't get to finish it because
when I first got in there, the teacher asked if anyone had any
theory classes like A.P. or college. Well of course I raised my hand.
So then he wanted to talk to me about what I knew. After we
talked he wanted me to work on the test just to see how well I would
do. By the time everyone else was finishing and going to lunch,
I was only halfway done with it. That was fine if I just wanted
to do elementary theory, but I had my degree and I wanted to prove it!
So I left before I was done and went to lunch.
So I decided after my advisement with the Music Therapy director,
that I would re-audition on the guitar since I already had 2 years of
it under my belt. Well, that didn't count, so I had to be judged on
how well I did.

I played the whole time I was at the beach, and studied
theory too! The day of the audition came and I found
out that I was the first to go (ah aggravating much?) So
on top of being nervous just because, I was double nervous
because I had to go first. I get on stage, and say my name and
what I'm playing and just get started. My hands were shaking, I missed
a couple of notes, but I kept going. So then they make me sight read.
It wouldn't have been so bad if there wasn't a lady standing
right behind me watching me. So I fucked that up big time. lol
They then asked me why I was doing guitar if I had 12 years
of guitar behind me. I said "I have my A.A. in Music with
classical guitar. I figured it would be easier to play and
to be through with college faster than if I took remedial lessons
on the violin." The music therapy person didn't realize that I had
already talked to someone from music therapy. So she asked me to come
over an hour later and have a chat. I said I would.
They said thanks and we'll let you
know how you do after your theory test.

At this point I was ecstatic the performance part was
over and now to do the dreaded theory test that I knew
I wasn't well prepared for. I leave to go put my guitar up and
grab my purse to go to the theory room. As I'm walking towards
the room, the music department secretary tells me she
wants to have a word with me real fast. I oblige and we go into the
stair well. She says that I qualified for remedial classes
on guitar(can you say extreme bummer?)
She proceeds to tell me that the school is in
desperate need of violin players and that they want me to
audition on a violin that they had, playing the sight reading
piece. I would go to take the theory test and then they'd let me
practice for a bit. I was bummed but I agreed.
So I went to the theory room and began the test. I was 1 question away from
halfway when they came to get me (keep inmind this point on
my first audition) Needless to say, I was pissed. First I have to
audition again and then they interrupt my theory test (Ah!)

So I go upstairs and head towards the band room where I'll be
practicing. Well the door is locked. so I'm just standing in
the hallway waiting on someone to bring me a violin
and let me in the room. At this point, I'm pretty confused and
pissed as to why they keep dragging me around.
A few minutes later, the secretary comes back.
She tells me that they had their paper work screwed up, and
had no idea that I had auditioned already (WTF!)
So they would use my scores from that, and I would
be taking the remedial violin classes. (great :l )
SO I was even more pissed now. I left, and me and
mama got my books, met a second year MT student yay, and had
burritos and beers afterwards. This helped a lot!

You still reading this? sorry this is so long, but I'm almost done.

So we head home after getting my parking permit.
We get home and I make semi-spaghetti, and I go to bed
early. Friday Mama and I go shopping which made it
better and here we are now.

Well we are about to go shopping again, so
I'll talk to ya'll later. BTW be sure to
come by Wednesday for a surprise :D

Hey guys! Can you believe it's August already?
I seriously can't! This summer has gone by
way too fast for my liking. And I start
my bachelor's degree in 2 weeks!!! It won't be long
before I'm done with school.

Anyways, Saturday I got to see one of my
all time favorite bands: Parachute Musical with
my BFF Rachael :D One other band we saw was
a local band: Stribling.

Unfortunately, Saturday was their last show,
but please browse YouTube for their other videos.
And check out the other videos from The Blue Indian.
They always put on great shows with great bands :D

So I've been M.I.A. for the last two weeks.
What have I been up to you ask?

Well:
1. I helped out with VBS back in Alabama.
(I had so much fun!)

2. Went on a roadtrip to a small town in
between Birmingham and Atlanta.

3. Went antiquing. I bought one of those
Rolling Stone tote bags with ACDC on it :D
I also bought an Auburn watch.

4. I got harrased for said watch because I was
with a group of Alabama fans.

5. Had a craft night with the Roller Derby girls.
(more on that at the end of this)

6. Re-learned how to skate. My ankles still hurt lol

7. Organized all of my etsy bills/sold orders/receipts.

8. And in a few hours, I will be helping out the Derby Girls with the tent of homemade goods at Bragg Jam.

Ok so the Roller Derby Girls:
A few of my friends have started up a local
roller derby team here in Middle Georgia. With my
fragile fingers, I can't do the roller derby stuff, but
I am what we call a FEARLEADER (cheerleader) with
one other girl, Summer :D.
I love it, because several of them are very crafty
and the other night, we got together to make some
stuff to sell today. Bragg Jam is going to be a
fundraiser for the team so we can buy equipment and such.
The team name is the Middle Georgia Derby Demons (MGDD for short).

Well I need to get ready for today. I hope
to have posts everyday next week.
But I am heading to the beach Thursday. so no
promises lol.

Real Talk Friday

This will hopefully be a new daily
post day on the blog.

I've been reading blogs lately that have
been sharing who they are in real life.

I love the idea of this so much, but
I'm scared to show my true self.
Online I try to be positive and not
have issues. Well honestly, I'm the
total opposite. I have problems on a daily basis.

By problems I mean some really messed up stuff.
For starters, I don't get along with my parents.
They like to abuse me emotionally. My mom
puts me down for how I look, or what I'm
doing wrong in my life. My dad, in his head
he thinks he's helping but he's not. He tends to
push me to practice more, study theory,
learn piano, and guitar on his time from him.
I'm a slow learner and all that does is give
me anxiety and makes me not want to do
anything with music.

I told you I'm pretty screwed up. The sad thing
is, that's not even a tenth of it. The silver lining,
is that it gives me a reason to create. Being creative
is such an escape for me. It gets me a way from
the shit in my life. (Oh yeah I enjoy cussing).

Well that's part 1 of this Real Talk Friday posts.

I want this series to be more of a community
series. I want y'all to talk, and comfort, and
whatever you want with everyone on here.
Please feel free to share on this blog. I see y'all as
friends and I hope y'all do to :D

So much to do

Ok I know the last few
posts have been updates,
and this is another one.

With moving back home,
I have a ton of projects that
I need to do before I can even unpack.

Cleaning my room is turning into
a several week project lol. I'm going
to be cleaning out and getting rid
of all the clothes baskets
in my floor. Cleaning out my dresser,
moving a ton of furniture, cleaning
my craft room, and then I have
to practice for my audition I have
in a month.

I promise, once my room is completely
cleaned, this little blog will be back
in full affect with new posts on Friday (yay!)

Wish me luck while I get back in the swing of things over here.
