A lot is going on here: leopard pants, plummy lips, and the fact that I was feeling a bit under the weather. You dress how you feel- and I felt a little cooky.
I am in love with this lipstick by MAC. It looks so vampy and gothic in the tube, but it can create such a beautiful stain when applied lightly on the lips. Maybe one day I will be brave enough to rock it with full intensity.
The leopard pants are wacky (even for me), but they are a lot of fun to wear. For a day I was able to forget about my work clothes and try new things with fashion.

This nail polish came in my December 2012 Luxe Box and I love it! It is a gorgeous silver glitter nail polish that can appear gold in different lighting. It is extremely opaque (unlike the usual glitter nail polishes I own), and dries very quickly. This is definitely my nailpolish pick for Christmas and New Year's Eve!

My first denim shirt. I saw this hanging on a rack at H&M and remember holding onto it, debating for the longest time whether to buy it or not. Jeff gave me his stamp of approval, which was enough encouragement for me. It is surprisingly soft and comfortable. I am glad I finally have one in my collection after (many) years of deliberation.

I hate to end this post on a bad note, but it has to be said. My chain link bracelet from this Etsy seller left me a bit annoyed. From afar, the bracelet looks fine; but if you take a closer look you can tell it is poorly made. There are indents everywhere and paint is scraped off from where the links were adjusted. I made a complaint to the seller and they were courteous enough to offer me a new one. The only thing is that I did not receive a new one. Keep in mind that I messaged them in July! I even followed up in August, but no response. I don't normally like to complain, but I think this case is justifiable. I will still wear the bracelet because, again, it is not that noticeable from afar and I don't like putting things to waste; but now I am even more annoyed at the customer service than the bracelet itself!

Oh well. You win some, you lose some.

Found this necklace on Etsy a while back. It is a nice take on the peter pan collar, which I love. I am obsessed with peter pan collars- not just the embellished collars on shirts, but the necklaces inspired by them as well. I paired the outfit with this polka dot top from Forever 21, which is a print you all know I adore.

It appears that I have fell off the face of the blogosphere- very unintentional, but a lot has been going on. It felt really good to take a break. During this time, I had many opportunities to go shopping (and these sales have been killing me!). I found this sweater from H&M and the moment I tried it on I realized that it was the sweater I have been searching for. It never really occurred to me that I had a "type", but I always had a hard time finding the perfect sweater. I came to realize that I prefer sweaters (and even tops), with loose bodies and fitted sleeves. My pickiness lies within the sleeves, and it is essentially the deal-breaker and deciding factor on whether I like a top or not. I would live in this sweater if I could; and I try to find any excuse to wear it. I paired it with this statement necklace from Forever 21 to dress it up a bit; and applied my favourite nail polish for the holidays. It's that time of the year again for glitter nail polish!

Sephora VIB Haul

Ah, the annual Sephora VIB splurge! Some items are already in my everyday routine and some are new additions...

The old: Ole Henriksen 3 Little Wonders- which has been a part of my daily skincare routine for a couple of years now; Boscia cleansers are also a part of my daily routine- they are truly the best (I am bummed that my beloved MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleaning Oil was sold out).

The new: Josie Maran products, and YSL concealer. I have heard many great things about Josie Maran, so I figured that this set was a great "test" for me. Their packaging is nice and sleek, so I was already intrigued. YSL makes some of my favourite makeup products; and when I swatched their Anti-Cernes Multi-Action Concealer, I was amazed. The consistency is so soft and smooth- it like melts into the skin. I hope it will live up to my expectations.

Face primers have also become a necessity for me during the past few months. I have always known how effective primers are, but it took going through some extra-long days (ie. 6 am to 3 am the next day) for me to truly appreciate what they do. I tried a sample of the Smashbox primer (a 100-point perk), and loved it so much that I decided to pick up the full size version.

I redeemed for the NARS 500-point perk. I didn't even have to think about it. Surprisingly, I have never owned Orgasm blush- and this kit includes a mini size version- so it's perfect! The rest of the products are also new to me, so I am excited to test them out! And who doesn't love freebies? It seems like Sephora is always handing out Make Up For Ever samples. I have my own growing collection of MUFE samples, makeup bags and totes from over the years!

The Sephora VIB sale lasts until Monday, and I am trying to rack my brain on whether I have missed anything. I know that it may seem like most of the products are sold out, but definitely ask if there is anything in the back because most of the products that I purchased were actually found in the back room.

Chai tea latte blouse

My favourite drink ever is the Starbucks Tazo Chai Tea Latte; so naturally, when I saw the name of this blouse, I was overjoyed. The colour is reminiscent of the latte itself and I am in love with the look and feel of this blouse. The name alone makes it that much more appealing... what can I say, I am a sucker for this kind of stuff!

This set features nine matte and pearlized nude and plum shadows (right up my alley). The eye shadows are very sheer, but easily buildable; and for the sake of pictures, I built up the swatches to make them appear more pigmented. I love sheer eyeshadows because they look more natural. They are perfect for work and everyday. And when I want to add a bit more drama to my eyes, I can easily build up the colour with these shadows. A primer can also help with the longevity and vibrancy of the colour. I always apply a primer before my eyeshadow- no matter how pigmented the eyeshadow may be.

The Liquid Eyeliner is a rich black, non-waterproof liner. The applicator is quite flimsy- reminiscent of the MAC Liquidlast Liner; so depending on your preference for applicators, you may or may not like this product. I, myself, prefer a more stiff applicator, but I can still use this liner without trouble. Practice makes perfect. And as for its formulation, it is very pigmented and lasts all day. I saw minimal smudging and fading, and it is easily removed with water. This is my first non-waterproof liquid liner, so I naturally expected it to be weak and completely rubbed off by the end of the day, but it held on strong!

The set also includes a clear brow gel and double-ended makeup brush. Perfect for travel and touch ups.

Like the Volume 1 set that debuted in 2011, the limited edition Kisses on My List Volume 2 gloss set is sure to sell out again this holiday season! These glosses are gorgeous! I love the variety of colours and finishes. I know that my preference is always changing, so it's nice to have all of these different colours for my ever-changing mood. They are also quite pigmented for a gloss and can act more like a liquid lipstick; but with a sheer application, they can act like a stain. The one interesting feature is the wand. As seen in a previous post, their wands are more like spatulas. I was a bit uncertain at first, but it works. The application is even and smooth. I'm not sure if it's going to change the way of lipgloss, but it's fun to try new things (especially when it comes to makeup!). As far as texture goes, they are on the thicker side, which definitely helps with the pigmentation and lasting power. These glosses are quite unique and different. I recommend going to a store and testing them out for yourselves.

I always love Anastasia's product packaging (which I think is just as important as the product itself). Lately, I've been gravitating towards these glosses. They are like a lipstick and gloss all in one, so I can skip the lipstick step all together! Very convenient. And on my eyes (if I'm wearing eyeshadow at all), I've been gravitating towards this natural look as seen in the final picture.
