I also include the number of stitches to cast on and the yardage if you decide to work a different number of repeats.

The KAL is divided into 4 Clues published every Thursday starting on February, 2.
1st clue: February, 2
2nd clue: February, 9
3rd clue: February, 16
4th clue: February, 23

To participate into The “Blooming Fuchsia” Mystery KAL, there are 2 options:

Option 1: You can buy my hand-dyed yarn Rendezvous in Blooming Fuchsia color USD 23 for single skein or USD 43 for 2 skeins (shipping and clues are included).
Payment by Paypal, no accounts required. However because of the process editing and testing took longer time, I published Piquant earlier.
When I designed this pattern, I though it will be lovely in this bold solid color, so I requested him to dye this color for me. Since this pattern is my design and using his hand-dyed yarn, I think Rendezvous seems to be a very suitable name.

This yarn has excellent yardage. At first I make 8 repeats size, halfway through, I realized that I probably could make 9 repeats size with this yarn. So, I frogged the whole thing and started all over again.

Pattern: Rendezvous

Source: here

Materials: Rendezvous Yarn 100% Merino Superwash (Burnt Orange color) light fingering weight 1 skein (100g, 490 yards)

Qty: 1 x 100 gram (490 yards)

Needles: 3.5 mm (US 4) and 4.0 mm (US 6) circular needles

Start Date: 21 September 2011

Finish Date: 8 October 2011

Finished size: 55" wide by 26.5" deep

Piquant Crocheted Shawl for Sale

Piquant is a crescent shaped crocheted shawl work in one piece using a single precious skein. So, I think it's about time to have one now, isn't it?
Let me show you my latest crocheted shawl that I made using my own hand-dyed yarn (well, actually my husband who dyed this yarn), I called this shawl Piquant.

This shawl have interesting structure and very quick to crochet. I really really love the result. Plus the yarn is so soft and buttery so it added the enjoyment of the crocheting process.

Need the details info? Several people suggested to me 6 months ago, but I am too afraid to do it. First of all, I am afraid that nobody will join in. Second, I am afraid that I won't be able to maintain the group, and it will die like many groups that I know of.

However, 3 days ago, I don't know what came into me. Suddenly, I found myself open my own group in Ravelry. As today I got more than 700 members, so I guess my fear has no ground. Now, the only task is how to maintain the group in order not to die fast. I have several ideas in mind, something like crochet/knit along, mystery crochet/knit along, etc.

If you like my designs and a member of Ravelry, why don't you come and join me here.

Reminiscence Shawl Pattern for Sale

Reminiscence is a crescent-shaped shawl worked from the bottom up. When I heard from my mother the news that she passed away in her sleep, I could not help but to reminisce the past.

Now, about the details part:

Pattern: Reminiscence

Source: here

Materials: Wollmeise 100% Merino Superwash (Zarte Knospe color)

Qty: 1 x 150 gram (574 yards total).

Needles: Addi lace 3.50 mm

Start Date: 13 August 2011

Finish Date: 6 September 2011

Finished size: 163 cm (64.25") wingspan, 49 cm (19.25") depth

Reminiscence Shawl

This is my new shawl. I really like the border pattern and at first I was not sure whether the lace stitch that I picked for the body would work. As you can see that the body lace pattern very lacey and holey and the border seems more solid that the body. Many times during the knitting part of the body, I was tempted to frog and choose more solid pattern or probably just use plain stockinette stitch. I am glad that I didn’t.

I used about 477 m or 530 yards of yarn to make 18 repeats wide pattern. I think the length is just perfect for a shawlette. I also think this pattern is perfect for 1 skein of Wollmeise.

Pattern: Liliiflora Shawlette

Source: here

Materials: Fingering weight yarn 100% merino (201090619710) in purple colorway.

Qty: 1.59 x 100 gram (300 m/100 gram, 477 m total).

Needles: Addi lace 4.00 mm

Start Date: 10 March 2011

Finish Date: 2 April 2011

Finished size: 160 cm (63") across top edge, 40 cm (16") depth

Purple Magnolia aka Liliiflora

It's spring time, and I saw this pretty flower that really inspired me to make a new shawl based on this flower.

This time, I didn't make my shawl triangle shape instead I want to try a crescent shape shawl and this is what I got:

The pattern is in the process of testing now and I am planning to release it by this month. This shawl is crocheted from the neck down and consists of 3-rows repeats to create the body. No seaming required. You can adjust the size very easily according the amount of your yarn. The lacy edging finishes off this shawl nicely. The nice thing you should know about the edging is that you can stop at any row and it will still look pretty. As usual, this pattern comes with both written instruction and charts.

Technical Editor: Chaitanya Muralidhara

Yarn: Lace weight or light fingering weight yarn.

Yarn requirement: Depends on how big or small you want it to be. Yup, it's done and it's really really pretty (it's OK to admire my own work, right?). I still could not believe that my construction worked nicely for this shawl. This shawl is work from the top down and has no seaming! Looks complicated but it is very easy. It has only 3-rows repeat pattern that is easy to memorize.

The idea of this shawl is started when I wanted a shawl with lace panels on the center and all sides of edges without any seaming. I also didn’t want the solid part to be just plain dc. I wanted a bit of texture to it. I also want it to be easily adjusted so people can make as small or as big as they want to. I did a lot of experiments before finally get to this combination and really like the result. This shawl came out just exactly like I imagined it. I don’t know the name of the yarn. I got it on sale without label, all I know it’s 100% wool, but I like working with it and it blocked beautifully.

Pattern: Remember Me

Source: You can buy it here or Ravelry or my Etsy (see link at about me)

Materials: Light fingering 100% wool. Another triangle shawl that worked from the top down. This shawl really make me happy because it turned out exactly like the way I imagined it to be. The lacy and the solid sections worked like the way I planned it.
