January 2022

2023-01-31T13:31:00.003-08:00

January was filled with Quinceanera planning. We kicked off the month with a trip to the Bridal Expo. It was fun! We ate lots of cake, saw venue options, photo booth ideas...then as we were walking out we ended up booking a place that did photo booth, DJ, Photographer and Video.....

We went to look and came out loaded! We took our momentum over to Harwin and did a little dress shopping and crown browsing too...

We booked an appointment at David's Bridal while we were at the expo..I didn't even know David's Bridal carried Quince dresses..but they do...and she liked one!! The excitement is palpable!!

On Friday the 14th...the girls flew to New York. Makaila had gifted the trip to Izzy for Christmas and she was SOOOOOO Excited!!

The month continued with visits from mom and dad, lunches after churvh with the Limwards...

More weekend strips to check out dresses....

Bingo nights with friends over at Teablueax's...I WON THE JACKPOT...but I may be embarassed to share just how I won...it was a show down!

I have zero complaints and started this year off feeling blessed and surrounded by good people!

Alright - we are finally getting through 2021!!

Shifting through my phone to select and limit the number of pics has been crazy - but brace yourself....there is more! This post will cover a photo dump of November and December with a little back story on things here and there. Then we can go back to monthly or bi weekly postings in 2022!

ELEVATION WORSHIP

I didn't wait until Thanksgiving weekend this year - I just decided I needed Christmas and so my trees went up at the begnining of November - theis might become a new thing...becuase I JUST LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!

Even Izzy got a fancy tree in her room this year. I was surprised she went with pink - she only wanted neutrals at first....but it looks good!

Lauren Daigle @ Toyota Center...these concerts were fantastic music wise - but a complete bust as a group. Makaila was on her phone with Mark the whole time and had a crap attitude....she has ruined or bailed the last few concerts we have gone to becuase she is mad at God...and it really sucks. It hurts my momma heart so much to see her carry so much anger and have such a determination to shove His word out....I want to shake her and yell at her - but instead I just stand back while she continues to hurt herself and those around her. I cry and pray for her daily, and I ask my friends to pray for her often too...I know his timing is perfect..but I truly hope she looks back on this time a year from now with relief that its over. That she has let go of her pain and anger, and she knows that she has a God who loves her tremendously and will never leave her..no matter how hard she tries to push Him away. I pray for her healing. If your here - stop and say a little prayer for her too....this momma would sure appreciate it.

God is good - despite her not signing or standing or trying not to listen - they go ther withthe Child Fund - and she adopted a little boy. I pray she sticks to this and serves God in this way. I see You working on my baby Lord...THANK YOU!!!

Nutcracker Market is an annual tradition and it has now reached the point of requiring a pre-day crafting session for our shennanigans.....This year we did Santa Hats, and silly glasses....

I bought little, drank lots and laughed till it hurt!! Never fails to bring me joy!!

Danny's Graduating class had a reunion night, so we went to hang out for awhile...got to see some great people!!

I took on a new craft this holiday season adn make earrings all of November and December - they are so cute...the only problem is I want to keep them all too!!

We had a Friendsgining holiday night at Vicky and Nestors this year - which was fantastic. All of us showed up, our kids came...we had fun. It was one of the last nig parties in their Eagle Springs home!!

For actual Thanksgiving we went to my parents and saw family there. It was a good time!!

We came home and then decided to take off in another direction. We went to spend the day in Natichoches, LA to check out thier Christmas decor...it was cute!! Food was good :)

In Early December I had to go to Audtin for a work event....Here is my work team...we went to an Axe throwing place ad a team building...it was kinda cool.

When I got back from Austin - Johnny put together a birthday dinner for Danny @ La Sirena. He is such a good friend to Danny. I love him to pieces and love the heart he has for his friends/brothers!! It is such a beautiful example to our kids - what friendship and family looks and feels like. They have been raised with these people in thier lives and at events and celebrating milestones with us....they are a blessing in our lives and I just love them!!

We didn't have enough - so we took the party back to Johnnys too...

Makaila was working as the receptionist at Johnston - so I was her plus one for thier Christmas party.

Makaila booked flights to go spend Christmas in Alaska with Mark - we picked the weekend before to celebrate Christmas as a family. We opened our family gifts to each other, decorated cookies, and went on ice cream trips together...we even played a not so friendly round of monopoly!!!

Christmas week - went to service at the Main campus to check out the lights and enjoy some family time with our friends and family...Missed Makaila being there to make memories with us - but she is safe in Alaska with her Boo!!

LIMON FAMILY CHRISTMAS

OMG - LOOK HOW LITTLE DAMIAN WAS!!!!!

SALAS FAMILY CHRISTMAS

GOLDEN GIRLS CHRISTMAS PARTY - GOLDEN GIRLS THEMED...LOL

I am laughing at these - because Misty had this fantastic plan to do house clean ups once a month together and she came over and spent an entire day cleaning our kitchen, cabinets, laundry room, hall closets...we took about 6 loads of stuff to Goodwill!! And here I am a year later....updating the blog and realizing ....she got gipped....we never made it to her house for round 2!!! LOL I wonder if she sill go for another try this year...I sure could use it!!!

The Limwards went out to PF Changs for New Years Eve Dinner.....It was WONDERFUL!!

BRING ON 2022......IM READY!!!!

Jan 2022 Be a part of the change - PLEASE!

2022-01-05T08:54:00.004-08:00

Hello -

I'm back. Sorry! I got caught up in the craziness of life and then COVID turned our world upside down in March of 2020...and it still continues! This life has been so crazy and unreal - that I decided this year I would come back here and write to my babies again and remind you both of the things that I tell you in person - but you conveniently tune out or roll your eyes at and close your ears to. Maybe reading it will hit different. Or maybe I just need you to have a place to come back and see it over and over again or maybe I'm just crazy...who cares....I'm back to bloggin!

So here we are Jan 5. I'm back to work, Makaila is back home (she went to Alaska for Christmas and New Years), Izzy is back to school, and we are working on setting the new norm for us this year. The goal is to eat at home more. Do more exercise, declutter the mess in our home, and be more organized. Let me rephrase that - these are my goals. Everyone else is being dragged along! Danny likes the results but makes no efforts. The kids - hate the change and hate the work! LOL

Right after Christmas my friend Misty came over with the intention of doing house "swaps" to help each other clean. We would spend 2 hours at one house on one are of focused deep cleaning, break for lunch and then move to the other house for 2 hours. Well we tried it and it was both a HUGE success and a fail. It was a huge success because my house looks fabulous - we deep cleaned my hall closets, the laundry room and the kitchen...12 Goodwill bags and 6 trash bags later it was great. The fail was that we never made it to her house - she got jipped! LOL I got rid of so much clutter!!! Craft that had been sitting there undone for years, clothes I hadn't worn in years, consolidated the stuff in the laundry room, prepared for new washer and dryers to come in, cleaned all the clutter off my kitchen counters...the place looks great...check it out! I feel 20 pounds lighter!

So Makaila and Issy here is where the message to you comes in. When you get to be my age - with a house, a family, a job, goals, etc....having a house feel like a clean home you are immensely proud of, means more than I can explain to you. But I'll try. You guys have lived a pretty privileged life. You are in may ways very spoiled and I'm not mad about it. Your dad and I worked hard to gave you guys that kind of life. It didn't come easy and it sure as hell wasn't handed to us. It took years of struggle, debt, sacrifice and grit. There were times in our early marriage that we lived literally paycheck to paycheck. Times where we have to figure out which bill to pay first in case something was cut off. We had credit card debt that seemed unreal! We worked and went to school and took care of you guys, and there were tears and lots of feeling defeated....but thank the good Lord, we overcame that.

At the very young age of 49 and 41 we can say that we are immensely blessed in our health, our finance, our situations, and that we are DAMN proud of the life we have and the things we have. We own our home! It's ours, and our hard work paid off. We don't have a grand home, with multiple stories, or several bedrooms, and its not on an amazing lot, but its ours. Our little 3 bedroom house in a neighborhood that you guys grew up in is ours. Being in this house knowing that you were both raised here and that our sacrifices and hard work have something to show for it....well that makes me so proud. Seeing our home radiate beauty and feel and smell clean - that is a feeling that brings me so much joy.

On the contrary - I can also tell you that walking into a dirty house with clutter everywhere you turn, and laundry pilled up in your rooms, and the stench of rank old clothes is soo deflating, It feels so disrespectful and hurtful. Giving you guys everything you want and providing for you this lifestyle to see crap thrown all over, your rooms piled up with mess and things just thrown around, or the room so damn dirty I can barely walk into it...It feels like your shitting on the things that we worked so hard to give you. Like a slap in the face.

My prayer for each of you is that you let that resonate with you and treat our home with the respect it deserves. That you clean up after yourself. Stay on top of your laundry. Keep your rooms clean. Learn to live with less material stuff and invest more in making memories. Love me with the actions of proactively cleaning and helping instead of making me nag!!

I pray that you guys learn and grow from what you see and that you own your own beautiful homes one day that are clean and respected and bring you the kind of joy that our homes brings to me. I pray your children will love and respect you and your home.

HELP ME - BE A PART OF THE CHANGE FOR BETTER!!!

Makaila went back to serve in another mission trip to Honduras

Happy 35th Birthday to Gilbert!!!!

And just a few short weeks later - my baby girl came to church! God moved mountains and broke down walls to make it happen - but he is a Good Good Father!! AMEN!! I really took to heart the words of Pastor Chris and pushed Makaila to faithfully believe with me that we don't go to church for the people, because people will fail us - but we need to go for His word and His message and His truth!!

Makaila's Graduation Trip to celebrate her getting her Associate's Degree in 1 year!!!

2021-01-25T12:17:00.009-08:00

When I went to Colorado in November with my sisters and parents - I kept thinking I wish they were all here - I wish Makaila and Izy could see this - I wish Danny could be here.....and I went home to tell them all the great things I saw and placed I visited and it planted a seed.

Instead of having another graduation party - Makaila asked if we could celebrate her graduation with a celebration family trip. her goal was to go to an Astros away game and visit whatever city she chose. She was leaning toward Chicago, New York and California - but the schedules didn't align and well- one day in her search she found that we could go to Colorado and take in a 4th of July game there and celebrate...so we did!!!

so behold - our first Limon family trip to Colorado - to celebrate Makaila's birthday and her graduation of Community College with an Associate's Degree!!

Then Makaila and I stepped outside our normal element and did the Santos Fun Run with the Ramirez Fam Bam!!

Isabella's Heartfelt Mothers Day Card for Momo

Rodeo Event with my cowboy.

I got to go to Cota Rica for my new job to train and meet my new team!! It was awesome!!

This trip was so amazing - except for the fact that Makaila endured a boat load of drama @ work and we had cry fests every night - and I sent to Bailey and Daniel some pretty strongly worded communications and set up meetings with Chris and the church upon my return. It was some heavy and draining emotional turmoil - but like it always does - looking back we know it was because God had bigger and better plans for her...and it definitely taught her a thing or two!!

When I got back home Danny took me to The Rustic to try a new place for date Night - and as you can see - it was a hit...the deserts were great!
