L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lipcolor, Refined Ruby

Hello lovelies! I am so excited about this new lipstick by L'Oreal. It is the Refined Ruby Lipcolor from the Infallible lipstick line. I know that this lipstick has been around for a while, but I recently came across with it. And the verdict is: I LOVE IT!

I love this shade of red color. It looks very classy, very 50s. It is a nice cool shade that compliments many skin tones. My suggestions for pale skin tones is that make sure to add some blush to your cheeks so you don't look washed out. This lipstick last forever and I love that about it. It does not bleed out of of the lips line, like other red lipsticks do. It feels a little dry, but it does not dry my lips at all.
In my opinion, it is very low maintenance. It you are afraid of using red lipsticks, it would be a good idea to give this one a try and see how you like it.

By the way, Happy Mother's Day to all of you and for those you are not mothers yet, Happy Mother's Day to your moms from me ;)

Sephora's Birthday Party

Hello everyone! It's been a while since my last post. I got caught up in daily life activities (It always happens) But, I am back and I want to share with you my birthday gifts from Sephora.
Yes, it was my birthday recently and with each year I feel very thankful for the wonderful people in my life, specially my family and my Booboo.
But, with each year passing by, I am starting to think about the aging process that everybody will have to experience at one point in our lives. Yes! I am very vain and I would like to be young forever. I am very guilty of that and I try to take good care of my skin. I always drink lots of water, I always wear SPF and I always apply skin care products before going to bed.

I went to Sephora with the excuse to pick up my birthday gift and with the secret idea of getting some skin care products. And this is what I found:

dr. brandt collagen booster

This dr. brandt collagen booster, it supposed to stimulate the collagen production of the skin. So far, I like this product. I like the smell and and I like that its light formulation applies very easy into the skin. This is not a moisturizer, so you need to apply one after applying this product. I have seen some good improvement on my face, specially on my cheeks. The pores look less visible around my cheeks and nose area.

I also got this:

Apivita Express Beauty Mask with Ginkgo Biloba

Apivita Express Eye Mask. I've been wanting to get my hands on this mask for quite some time. I was wanting to try the Ginkgo Biloba because I've heard that it is really good for the skin.

This mask says to help improve the apparence of the under eye area, so I had to try it. This is very rich cream mask that you apply under the eye area and on your eyelids and leave it for 10-15 minutes. The box has 6 double packs for a total of 12 little packs. I used just one pack for both eyes because as I said, this is a very concentrated mask. I really noticed a reduction in my puffiness and my under eye area looked brighter after I used this mask. I will keep using it and I hope to see good results.

And finally.........Happy Birthday Beautiful gift set from benefit.

I got the they're Real mascara. I have never tried this mascara before, but I have heard wonders about it. I haven't seen what is the big thing about this mascara, to be honest. I didn't see that it gave any full length to my eye lashes. But, I think I am happy to have gotten this as a gift so I can tried it on.

What I am really loving is this What's up highlighter. It gives me a nice glow without looking to pinkish like other highlighters do on my skin complexion. This blends really well with my skin tone and I love it!

I hope you all are enjoying the Spring season and that your allergies are under control. Mine are acting up lately and I am trying to control them drinking a lot of green smoothies and a lot of ginger tea. So far, so good.

Lip Bomb Glossy Lacquer Stain

Hello everyone!!!

I wanted to share with you these wonders from mirenesse.com. These Lip Bombs contain vitamin E, have a rich pigmentation, and give a velvety finish. They are a gloss, stain and a lacquer, three in one!!

I am so in love with this. I got the Bomb number 4 on my October Ipsy bag and I loved it. The shade is a pink color and it looks very nice on me, but I also wanted to get he Bomb number 2, which is a very deep red shade, so I bought it.

They are very pricey, ($35.00 or $28.00 if you are a Mirenesse VIP member) but worth it. They have a good staying power and the finish is so gorgeous and bold. It had a sponge tip applicator and I will suggest to clean off the excess on the tip before applying the product so you don't apply to much on your lips. You can also build the intensity by applying more product and dispersing it with your fingers.

Now, this will smear a little, despite of the claims that it won't, (or maybe it smears on me because I apply to much?) so make sure to use a nude lip liner in the outer of your lips to prevent the gloss from going everywhere.

Another complait I have with this product is the packaging. After having them in my purse for a few days when I was on vacation, the letters on the plastic tube started to fade away and one of the tubes cracked, too. I have a few glosses that of course come in a plastic tube, but they haven't cracked and still look in good conditions. Considering the price, I think that they could have done better with the packaging.

Overall, I think this is a great product that provides a wonderful color, nurture your lips and it last for a long time. I just wish that it will come in a better plastic tube and it was not so expensive.

Loving the vampy lips trend

I could not resist to buy this Revlon Super Lustrous Black Cherry Lipstick and to join the current vampy lips trend of the season.

This is a not so easy color to wear. The first time I did, I worked so hard to make it last longer, so I applied a lip primer under it, and it was not a good idea. My lips got too dry and it made the color itself to looked too matte and dark for my skin tone.

My advice is to only apply a lip liner in a natural shade under it and to take your time applying the lipstick with a lip liner brush. The best lip liner brush that I have ever used is this one from BHCosmetics. Believe me, it really, really makes a difference to follow this process. I am the kind of woman who is always on the rush and I avoid to wear lipsticks that take too much work to apply and to make them look perfect. But, I think that we need to take our time to look fabulous.

Head and Shoulders Damage Rescue Program

Hello everyone!!! I want to give a big thanks to the people from the www.influenster.com for sending me the new Head & Shoulder Damage Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner.

First of all, the Influenster is a program that sends free hair and skin products to participants for review. I subscribed for it on March and I have to confess that I am still trying to find how it works. It was a total surprise when I received an email a month ago saying that I was selected to participate in a new Influenster program with Head and Shoulders.

I received a full size shampoo and conditioner to try out. It claims to make the hair stronger in 10 washes. I have washed my hair two times with it, so it is too soon to testify on this claim. But I can tell you that I love the idea of using a shampoo and a conditioner from the same brand to control dandruff. I also love its smell. It has a delicious, peach smell....

I am looking forward to see my hair falling out less and to see it looking more shiny and healthy. Who isn't getting ready for the holiday parties. I am so excited because this year I would be attending a few parties.

I've been loving this mineral foundation from BareMinerals. I love how flawless and shine free my face looks with this, and believe it or not, add moisture to my skin and it has SPF 15!!
I have still yet to get use to its application (practice makes perfect) or maybe I need to find a better application brush. The brush is not so great and makes me work too hard applying this product.......Any recommendations, anyone?

I tried to recreate this look from popsugarbellaTV for Halloween. What do you think? I had a lot of spare time this past weekend, and I decided to occupy myself putting this look together. So, so easy!!!

I also tried to be creative with my nails. As I said, I had a lot of free time this past weekend.

In a more serious note, my prayers and sympathy are with the people of New York and New Jersey. We fought a terrifying weather with hurricane Sandy. A lot of people lost their homes and are still fighting the aftermath of the hurricane. I am thankful because me and my family are okay, but I cannot really feel happy because I am very sorry for the ones that were affected by this hurricane. Let's all pray together and do whatever we can to help the people that need it the most in this difficult time.

MyGlam August Bag

Every month, I found myself anxiously waiting to receive my monthly MyGlam bag! My August's bag has finally arrived, and it has very fabulous products that I want to show to you.

First, look at this beautiful baby pink lip gloss. It is an exclusive product for MyGlam members and it is lovely. I am more of a lipstick lover, but this gloss is such a beautiful color, that it is hard to resist. It has a good pigmentation and it smells like strawberries and cream. So yummy! It can be wear alone or on top of your favorite lip color.

I also received this orange nail polish named Spectacle. This color is so summery and so perfect to wear for these last weeks of summer! I do think that the color is beautiful, but it is a little opaque. But, nothing that cannot be fixed with a coat of clear nail polish on top.

Another of the products in this month's bag was this mineral eye shadow in Glama-Zoid by Salty Cosmetics. This is a very pigmented and shimmery eye shadow. I will wear this on the inner corner of my eyes and on my brow bone as a highlighter. This eye shadow has a duochrome color with pink undertones. So lovely!

Glammies are always looking for products to help their members to take care of their skin, and therefore I received these samples skin care products from eclos plant-based beauty. Both are anti-aging with natural ingredients that provide hydration and cell regeneration for the skin. They claim to reduce winkles and to smooth the skin. It is too bad that these are just samples sizes because I would love to try them for a longer time and to see their results.

Finally, I received this roll on perfume oil in clean skin. It smells so good. I love the sophisticated and subtle aroma of this perfume and it reminds me of when I was a teenager, and I used to wear the roll on perfumes from AVON. Those were my favorites back in the days.

bareMinerals Original Foundation=The best foundation

The last time I shopped at Sephoras, I received a sample size of the bareMinerals Original Foundation with SPF 15. Oh my God.....this foundation is the best foundation ever.....!

I never used mineral foundations before, so I don't know how this works in comparison to others, but I can tell you that this is a winner for me.

It is amazing how much coverage it provides with such a little amount of product. And what it's more amazing to me is how it truly last all day without feeling heavy on the skin and without changing color during the day. This is the best foundation for people with combination/oily skin, (like me) specially during the summer.

I purchased a full size at QVC, in a kit value for $35.00 (plus shipping), containing the foundation and a flawless face brush, for a better application. I bought it in medium shade, and I think it is a little light for me, but I just balance it out with some matte bronzer. Next time I repurchase this, I will ask for professional advise to choose the right shade for me.

It is important to take your time blending this foundation since this is key for a flawless application. In my opinion, this foundation has no cons, and I highly recommend to give it a try.

Cape Cod Vacation

Hello everyone. I hope you are enjoying your day. I want to share with you some pictures from my awesome time off at the Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Oh boy, I had an incredible time there and I want to thanks my boyfriend and his beautiful family for the invitation and for the wonderful time that we all had together. I certainly had an awesome time and I didn't want to come back (yeah, it was that much fun)

Cape Cod or just the Cape, is a cape located at the eastern part of Massachusetts. A fun fact about Cape Cod, is that in the map it looks like an human arm. So funny!!

We stayed at "The Buoy House" Bed and Breakfast , which offers continental breakfast and a nice bed to sleep. This house was like a little cottage, very nice and cozy. Another fun fact, is the name of the roads in Cape Cod. For instance, this house was located in a road called "Cottontail Road" Isn't a cute name for a road?

After having breakfast, sitting outside in the porch, we will get ready to meet with the rest of the family to start the day of adventures. We did many things together. One night we went to Provincetown. This is a small beautiful town located at the very tip of Cape Code. The main street is a very narrow, one way street. And at each side of the street there are art galleries, restaurants, clothing stores, ice cream shops and house guest. It couldn't be more charming. I was told that a lot of the population are Portuguese descendants and that young artist could live for free at house guest, so they could focus on their art.

This town is so festive and a favorite vacation spot for the gay community. We saw a few guys dressed with exotic outfits, big wigs and high heels walking down the street. I heard that they have a parade every evening and have fun dressing up for it. This town is so much fun and so beautiful and you can breath the history of it. We also went to the beach and had a great day playing with the waves and relaxing. And of course we had a good lunch (I am a foodie, and it is one of my guilty pleasures).

On our last night, we all had dinner at Terra Luna. A very nice, small restaurant with delicious food. The outside of the place looks very small and like nothing out of the ordinary, but the food is incredible and inside the place is very cozy and family orientated. We all had a great meal and a great time.

But my very favorite was the dessert. Oh myGod, the blackberry polenta custard was to die for....Yummy!

Now, jumping to another subject. I have been asked about these sandals.

I bought them from Gilt.com last year at the end of the summer, so I didn't wear them until now. This are form Boutique 9 and are the most comfortable sandals that I've ever owned. You can find them here and they have them in black, too. The stripe wedge top that I am wearing on the picture at the top, I got it from Loft.com. It has a nice detail in the back that is not shown on the pics on the website. So, I was surprised when I got it. I know what is said about wearing tops with vertical stripes: that it makes you look fat. But whatever, I love it!

I keep my beauty routine very, very simple for this vacation.

I got a sample side of this Green Apple SPF 15 moisturizer on my July MyGlam bag. Not a big deal. I don't like SPFs that are so thick that are difficult to apply onto the skin. (Unfortunately, this is one of them, in my opinion). I also worn Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup. You can see my review on it here. I also applied concealer under my eyes and lip balm. I kept it very simple.

I had problems styling my hair while I am on vacation, therefore I don't like the pictures that I take of myself. Can anybody please, give me some advice on how to style my fine, but abundant frizzy hair without styling tools while on vacation? I will greatly appreciate it.

Last month was, for most part, very hot and humid. It is well known that during the summer months less is more. So, I kept my makeup routine very simple and easy.

For foundation I used Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup. This product claims to be ultra light, ultra breathable and oil free. The description also says that it won't clog pores and that it evens out skin tone. I have to confess that I am in the "trying " process with this product. Even though I bought it on March, I was waiting for the hotter months to try it on, so I will have a better review of it.

I agree that this foundation is ultra light, ultra breathable and oil free. It does not feel heavy on the skin and it does not clog your pores. I have oily/combination skin and I am still on the fence about how well this product controls oil. A funny fact for me is that before you apply this product, you have to shake it 10 times, in order to get a "perfectly blended make up" The formula does have a subtle distinctive smell, but it is not offensive at all. It applies easy and also it blends easy onto the skin and a little of product goes a long way. I found that I prefer to apply it with my fingers than with a foundation brush.

Now, this is a lite formula, so it won't cover major imperfections, like redness, dark spots or dark circles. I don't think that this formula does a good job with even out skin tone. I would like it to have more coverage power. Also, it is really liquid (pay attention to the word "Fluid" on its name) so, be careful when taking the product out before applying. Also, I don't like that it does not have SPF, a major deal for me.

Overall, if you are like me, that you have to wear foundation no matter what, this is a good product to use and if you are blessed with a flawless skin, this will look perfect on you.

I have always found it difficult to apply bronzer. I remember once a co-worker asked me what had happened to me because my face looked like if I had sleep on a tan machine the night before. I was so mortify that I swear to not to wear bronzer ever again. Why for? I have a medium complexion so I have a natural tan.
Well, last year when I saw my best friend, she told me that I looked really pale. So, I realized that living in New York and being exposed to the winter months has made me lose some of my natural tan. Then, watching at so many YouTube videos, where every single makeup guru apply bronzer to their faces convinced me of giving it a second change. But, this time I took baby steps and prepared myself f with the right tools. I got a Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Soft Matte Bronzer. This is a non-shimmery bronzer that I apply lightly with an angle brush on the hollows of my cheeks, on my temples and in my jaw line to contour my face. I follow the tips offer by Lisa Eldridge on her beauty videos. She is so amazing and so gorgeous. And so far, I haven't gotten any questions about my "tanning"

I have become an addict of the Physician Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder

This product started to grow on me recently and I haven't stop wearing it. I like the glow and brightness that it gives to my face. Every time I look at myself in the mirror I love how youthful and happy my face looks. The shimmer is subtle and I wear it during the day at the office and it looks natural (well, nobody has asked me why my face looks like a disco ball, so....) I'd like to apply it on top of my cheek bones, on my cupid's bow, on the inner corners of my eyes and on my brow bones. I love it. I have forgotten that this product is reportedly "infused with natural plant extracts which have been shown to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of Endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress" I don't know if this is true or not, but I do know that it makes me happy to see my face with this nice shimmer.

I have thin lashes and I need a good coat of mascara to look awake. Mascara is something that I cannot live without and when I don't wear mascara I feel incomplete. My mom bought me this Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara which I have to say is not the greatest, but I've been wearing it anyways. The formula of this mascara is a little wet, meaning that building it into the lashes can be a challenge. I usually curl my lashes and then apply mascara. But, this mascara makes the lashes to stick together, creating that horrible look of spider lashes. Another problem with this product is that the brush is too big. I have to apply three coats of mascara to give a full, lifted look to my lashes. But I also have a secret: I do the business card trick. First, I curl my lashes and then I place a business card on top of my eyelids and very close to my lash line, pressing my lashes against the card before applying the first coat of mascara. This helps the brush to work the roots of the lashes and to get every single eyelash. I let the first coat dry and then I apply the second one repeating the same process with the business card, until I get the length and separation that I want on my lashes. This trick helps to avoid getting wet mascara on your eyelids and to build and separate the lashes while applying it. This mascara removes easily with eye makeup remover and it does help to grow your lashes. I have seen a little improvement on my lashes, they look longer and fuller, but not too long or too full to skip wearing mascara.

Finally, I have kept my little pout moisturized with Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm. I love how hydrated my lips feels while wearing this balm and I also like that it is tinted so I don't need to apply lipstick.

These are the products that I reached out the most last month. Some of them I really like, and some of them not so much. And the debate continues.

MyGlam June Bag

Hello lovelies. I am very excited about showing you what I got on my MyGlam June bag. Last month, my bag came very late (arrived the last week of May) that I lost any excitement about it. The products were good, but as I said, too late!

Anyways, I was happy to found my bag in my mailbox last night. By the way, I had an amazing day with my brothers yesterday. We went to see the Brasil-Argentina soccer game at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and it was very exciting. It couldn't be a better day for a soccer game and I was so happy to spend time with my boys :)

I received this gold glitter clutch. It is very nice and I can wear it for a night out. I'm afraid of some glitter falling out and getting it all over my face or clothes, so I will have to make sure to "shake" it very well before using it :). But, it is really cute!

I also got this sample size of this Philosophy take a deep breath oil-free energizing oxygen gel cream moisturizer. I haven't try this before, but I believe that it might be similar to the the Bliss Triple Oxygen + C Energizing Cream, which I love. This product says to help detoxify the skin for a healthy looking glow. It contains ginkgo biloba extract, which has anti-aging qualities, it helps to reduce puffiness and stimulates blood circulation. I am looking forward to try this out.

I also got this Living proof frizz Nourishing Styling Cream. Wow, I can't wait to try this. Humidity is a killer for my hair during these hot days and this will definitely help.
As a "Glammie" I received a special offer to to buy a kit containing shampoo, conditioner and a styling cream or spray for $35.00. Not bad. Have any of you try this already? Please, let me know what do you think about it.

My bag also brought this Marbella Permanent Eyeliner Pen in black. This is one of my favorite products from this bag. I almost buy one of this at the drugstore the other day, and I am so happy I didn't. This product sales at $19.00 at the Marbella web-store. This is a 24 hrs. eyeliner and it says that is can be remore easily with any eye-makeup remover. The only thing I am not sure about is the warning of not using it with lenses on. I wear lenses and I don't know if this will give any irritation to my eyes. I hope not, otherwise I will have to give it away.

And lastly, my very favorite product form this bag is this NYX Round Lipstick in this LSS 521 Chloe color. I think in plain English, this is a fuchsia pink color. Everybody knows how much I love lipsticks and I see this is going to be my go to lipstick these days. It actually going to match with my Julep nail polish in Lily.

I really like my MyGlam bag this month and I can't wait to try this products.

My Julep Box

Hello, hello......How is everybody? I have been missing in action for a while and I want to apologized. Many things have happened lately and the most excited of all: I graduated last Friday with a degree in Business Management! Yay....I feel very proud of myself. I still have a long way to go: I want to keep studying, start my own business, etc. I feel really optimist about the future :)

Today, I received my first Julep Maven box (a graduation gift to myself) and I want to share my thoughts with you. I know that many of you know that Julep Maven is a subscription program that specializes on trendsetting new nail colors and beauty products.
You pay $19.99 a month and you received two or three nail polishes and two beauty products and promotions. I think that $19.99 a month is a little expensive, but you can skip a month buy canceling your box between the 20th and the 24th of each month.
This month, I received these two gorgeous nail colors in Lily and Courteney. I love the Lily color and I think that it will be my go to nail polish for the summer. The Courteney color is like a lime green. It's cute, but not really my favorite. I will pass it down to my mom, she will love it!

I also got this Julep sunscreen with SPF 30 for face and hands. Just in time because I was almost out of sunscreen. I started to notice a few sun spots on my hands and I think it is because I always neglect to apply sun screen on them. So ladies and gentlemen, please don't forget to protect your hands from the sun by applying sunscreen when exposed to the sun.

The description product says that this sunscreen has vitamin E, that it hydrates the skin and strengthens the nails. Also it is parabens free. I am very excited about this product. I will do a future review about it, soon.

Finally, I aslo got this lip balm with SPF 15. It has a Vanilla Mint scent (smells delicious) and it is very creamy. I also like that it has organic ingredients like organic extra virgin olive oil and organic palm oil. We have to take care of our lips, not just by applying sunscreen, but also making sure that what we apply on them do not have dangerous ingredients, like lead. Did you know that the average woman will eat 90 pounds of lipstick in her life? It is scary to think that it could be 90 pounds of lead :(

I also want to mention that the packaging was very delicate. All came in a black carton box very nicely wrap in an orange paper. I think that is very thoughtful of Julep Maven. It was very exciting to open my package.

If you are like me, probably you are making plans for summer vacations already. So, keeping it simple is key to make the most out of you vacation. Mad Men Collection Review and Swatches

Finally I am reviewing the Estée Lauder Mad Men Collection. I must say that I am very excited about writing this post and I have been anticipating to share my thoughts about the collection with you.

First of all, I want to say that I LOVE the packing of this collection. Both, the lipstick and the cream blush, came in an adorable vintage box. But, what it is really cute is the gold, velvet lined case in which they come in. This will help to prevent scratching them in your makeup purse while traveling. I think that this is a fabulous idea, since the compact and the lipstick tube are limited edition and, in my opinion; collectable.

The Creme Rouge blush comes in this gorgeous gold plated compact that has an embellished closure and a mirror. The compact is small compared to other Estée Lauder compacts, but it contains .22oz of a beautiful rosy cream blush in Evening Rose. It cost $40.00 but I think that it is worth the investment because the compact is absolutely gorgeous and timeless.

This creamy formula blends easily and holds very well during the day given a very nice rosy blush to the cheeks.

This lipstick is my favorite from the collection, however, Estée Lauder went totally vintage with this smaller lipstick tube. Back in the 1960s, lipsticks were not as big as we are used to see now. When I looked at it at the counter at Bloomindale's and thought that it was a sample size, but it is .07oz of lipstick. I put it next to other lipsticks so you can see the difference yourself.

Despite of its size, this is a gorgeous cherry color lipstick that will flatter any skin tone. The formulation is very silky and it glides very smoothly proving a lot of hydratation to the lips. It last approximately five-six hours without any touch-ups. The price is $25.00.

I love this Mad Men collection. I think Estée Lauder made an excellent job with the packaging. It is without doubt, very elegant and sophisticated. I like the color selection (Cherry for the lipstick and Evening Rose for the cream blush) and their cream formulations. I am so enchanted by the look of these compact and tube. I feel very classy by just looking at them on top of my vanity and I am so happy that I finally wrote this post.

What do you think of this collection? Do you feel tempted to buy it? I heard that Estée Lauder will launch a second collection next year. I can't wait for it.

Treatment for my Lips

Cool weather and dehydration make my lips very dry and chapped. To get rid of this condition and be able to show my beautiful lips I used Smashbox Emulsion Lip Exfoliant and pur-lisse pur-lip confort. These two together make wonders to help spot a beautiful coral lipstick.

First, I exfoliate my lips working in a circular motion and letting the poppy seeds and sugar granules to eliminate the dry skin from my lips. I let stand on my lips for a minute to let the sea butter penetrate my lips for deep hydratation. Then, I remove it using a wet cotton ball.

Second, I apply this lip nourisher that I received on my March MyGlam bag. I am loving it and it was the only good thing on my bag last month. I hope that my April bag will come with better products.

This lip nourisher is petroleum-free and its formula with vegetable oils will heal and hydrate your lips immediately.
