I was invited to join some fabulous photographers in documenting the bits, pieces, and messes left in the wake of our children.  The only rule is the photograph cannot include any children and instead capture the marks they leave behind.  Check out the Kids Were Here to see everyones take on it this month.   I enjoyed this project as it makes me slow down and in some cases calm down and remind myself that these times are fleeting.  These messes are evidence of them learning and exploring.  NO judging my dirty messy kitchen okay?

However, spring has come is bursts and has given us a taste of such sweet warm weather.  I LOVE being outside with my kiddos.  They are happier and I am happier.   I have to say that I am so excited for this summer.  We tried camping last year when the little was just about a year old…and it was mostly cold and kind of miserable.  That said I cannot wait to go again.

I cannot believe that another month is gone.  Where is it all going?

We are going through the rhythms of life and just trying to stay on top of it all.  Seems like laundry and responsibilities are piling up along with the snow.  But I can see spring around the corner…soon we will be shedding the clothes ( this will affect the laundry pile right?) and getting outside more.

I am still working on my 365 ( a photo a day).  Some days are better than others.  I try to tell myself that it’s okay.   But I am enjoying the photo journey…learning from each image.  But mostly I am just happy to be picking up the camera and thinking about making images daily.  I like the slowness of this process and taking the time each day to visit my camera, my photography..and my babies…believe me taking a photo a day is hard.  But I like that each day builds upon the next.

The last few images are done by freelensing.  A poor man’s tilt shift.  I love playing with it and seeing what magic it will create .

ng too sick..not yet anyway, staying home to stay away from sickness, visiting NCAR (The National Center for Atmospheric Research), snowshoeing, going to the botanical gardens, and coming to the realization that our little (19 months old) is not longer a baby and if truth be told quite opinionated.

I dread and love the New Year.  I feel lots of excitement to make changes but also overwhelmed that I need to make changes.

Ughhh…

I am continuing with the photography group called “what__looks like” and am SO thrilled to be a part of it as my fellow

photographers in this group are simply amazing. We have some new members this year…who will blow your socks off.  So be sure to complete

the circle and check them out.  The photos we’re taking can be as simple as what “our month” looks like to what “our vacation” looks like.

These talented ladies have been photographing their lives for months, and focusing on their children, personal projects and beautiful moments

as well as the messes, tears, joys, and in-between moments of everyday life.

We went home to Wyoming for the holidays.  I grew up here in the foothills of the mountains, under the big skies and in the fields that go on and on.

I am excited to do more work in Wyoming this coming year.

I am so excited for November.  I have lots of goals to accomplish this month and I think I just might get them done!

Little AG was Little Orphan Annie for Halloween.  She has worn the costume everyday since….finally made its way to the laundry basket.

AG’s first LOVE…

Playing around with new winter lighting.  I love the coolness of cold winter light.  I guess thats something to look forward to right?

AG was not a fan of night shooting but she is such a great little model.  I could not ask for a better 3.5 year old to help along me on my artistic journey.

Little M…this is how she is most days.  She puts her head between my legs and holds on making sure I can’t walk away…

LOVE a laugh so big you have to throw your head back.  That is paint on her face by the way.
