If you watched the early morning drama, Manchester United vs. Liverpool that was, you would understand where i'm coming from. Suarez just back from serving his 8 match ban for racial abuse refused to shake hands with Patrick Evra - infuriating the entire Man U team. Everyone is talking about this but there is something which no one is discussing.

Late in the game Luis Suarez scored to make the scoreline 2-1. He then picked up the ball and while rushing back to the center field, he celebrated and kissed his wrist. Then he pulled up his sleeve and kissed his bare skin. A clear cut gesture that he considers his skin color superior to others. No one in the media is talking about this. I found his celebratory gesture racially provocative and something done on intent to make a point. Liverpool FC may defend their striker to great lengths, but that doesn't change the fact that Luis Suarez seems to have racial bias.

The FA should review all the incidents in the game and particularly the celebration. Luis Suarez deserves a deeper punishment for his gesture and only a season long ban from the Barclay's premiere league would be a fitting punishment for his repeat offense.

THE INCIDENT
The car a person buys in many ways knowingly or unknowingly represents his personality. People having penchant for grandiose get into flashy expensive cars, people for thrill get into fast sports cars and play it safe guys get into Hondas and Toyotas. This article is about Indians, the brands they buy and my perception of their personalities. Some of this is conjecture and some is based on lots of observation.

So, people buying Maruti Suzuki cars in India are like the people buying Honda, Toyota cars in the US. These people like to play it safe and have a grand belief that Maruti cars are very reliable, easy to maintain. Though this may not be entirely true they have an unflinching belief that Maruti cars are best on the world – not just India. These people are willing to accept an inferior product to everything else available in the market just because of their belief system. They do not like to step out of their comfort zone and would take the Maruti Zen instead of the Ford Ikon even if somebody agreed to pay the difference.

People buying Tata cars are a different breed of animals. Many times these are people who take pride in indigenous ‘Swadeshi’ products. Similar to Maruti buyers these people are willing to make a small compromise or a sacrifice just to buy a home made product. These people are bit of nationalists and very brand loyal. They value the toughness of the product more than refinement.

Now comes the worst and the most annoying lot – People buying Mahindra cars / SUVs. haaah. These are some of the most illiterate people you will find in the country – illiterate but rich. These people lack respect for others and believe that the road belongs to their father (baapacha road). They will equip their vehicle with the most blaring of horns, and will not think twice before blazing those horns in the middle of the night while passing through a quite residential area. These guys also believe that it is OK to nudge other people with the bumper of their vehicle if they want the way. {This is the observed and non-conjectured part of this article}

PS: I do know a few Mahindra owners who are more sensible. This article is dedicated to the rest 99.99% Mahindra owners.
Generally it never happens that I haven’t heard of the car, but it this case I wasn’t even aware of the car company. So did you know this car named Fisker Karma?

The car design is absolutely stunning with neatly sculpted exteriors. Seems that the interiors can be customized to a high level to get a very unique product. There is no way of test driving this one, so I am going to guess that it must drive well.

Apparently it’s a Hybrid sports and predominantly driven by the elite in Hollywood.

Thankfully the story was pre written by Mr. Mukul Anand in the 70s. So instead of the typical feminine and gayish offerings from Karan Johar the movie is pure action macho deal. Without any guess work - the movie is a classic 80s 90s bollywood revenge movie where the kid grows up to revenge the death of his father and the injustice done to his family.

Performance wise the movie is fully of surprises. Hritik Roshan does a good job of an angry young man but i cannot see him doing justice to the role of Vijay Chauhan the way Amitabh Bachchan must have (Mind you i havent watched the original Agneepath yet). Hritik is indeed an angry young man, but there are scenes where you can see the soft side smiley face and a very flexible dance routine. I cannot imagine Bachchan must have smiled in the entire Agneepath I, let alone slick dance moves. Rishi kapoor is a revelation in the role of Rauf Lala. To people who are expected to see him in candy eye roles of an womaniser, this would be a shock. His bulky physique helps him in cretating a fearful character depicted in the movie. However the biggest surprise of all is Sanjay Dutt in the role of Kancha. He has turned himseelf into a maniac animal role an physique wise. Bulging muscles pale whitish skin ladden with tattos, shaved head with a embedded groove structure - he is an alien. The best way to describe would be the character of Malakh in Dan Brown book "The Lost Symbol".
Priyanka Chopra too churns out a flawless performance without any mistakes, but her role is limited.

The music in the movie would get mixed reaction. The songs arent very catchy apart from Chikni Chameli. But i hate to give credit for that song as it is a cpy of the marathi number "Kombdi Udali". However the high pitched dhol lezim music used fr most of the fight scenes and the ganpati song desreves a lot of credit.

The picturisation and the cinematography is very eye catching. The depiction of violence is very intense and can shake up a weaker heart.

All in all i would say Agneepath 2012 is a very fine watchable movie and would have several performance that would be nominated for awards this year. It also brings out a good point that old movies have a lot of potential to be remade if handles the right way and adhered too. While Don2s failure may have raised doubts on the formula of remaking movies, Agneepath may usher a new era of remade old movies. Just do us a favor - do not make Agneepath II in 2015.

They wanted their kid to be Maths and Science wizard. To motivate their kid to pursue their ambitions they were keen on naming him Newton. However this name carried a huge risk in case he turned out to be dumb. So taking a safe approach they decided to call him Newt. In case he turned out brilliant they could always claim that Newt is short for Newton.

The car was being dubbed as the first compititor to the Tata Nano. Bajaj did nothing to doze these speculations. When the specifications were out a few days ago the car was said to be cheaper than the Tata Nano and give 35 kmpl to the milegae thirsty Indian car buyer.

However with the launch of the car everything seems different. The competition with the Tata Nano is non existent. The cars looks are head (away) turner and it will be sold in the auto rickshaw dealerships. It has a top speed of 70 kmph and an engine of 200cc, smaller than few of the premium bikes in India.

Bajaj is placing this as an alternate to the Autos and taxi cabs, a new segment in the public transport. But was this always the plan? I am pretty sure Bajaj wanted to develop a small car for the middle class, but looking at the end product decided to place it differently. The families will stay away from the ugly car called the auto-car. The autowala's and cabi's have already rejected the product so Bajaj has a flop on its hand.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 204px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HXJ_7NWpPwE/TwcdBOzJ7tI/AAAAAAAAASU/AMWYhP_qq54/s320/Bajaj-RE60-img.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5694552160823013074" />

As it is obvious, Salman Khan has dished out Super Duper hits and highest grossing movies of all time for each of the last 2 years. With Dabangg, Ready and Bodyguard all Bollywood box office records have been shattered. The statistics are surprising – Ready and Bodyguard had production costs of 40 – 50 Crore each and their box office collections were 120 crore and 230 crores respectively. The next hit movie in 2011 was SRKs Ra One, that cost 80 crore and grossed 90 crore.

Post Dabangg, Salman Khan has discovered a formula of superhit movies. Ridiculous story, insane star character who is capable of illogical and gravity defying acts; awesome songs with monotonous, effortless, dance moves!!! Such formula that was created, repeated and perfected in Tollywood by Rajni, Chiranjivi and Ballaya. Don’t be surprised if 2012 will have another Dabangginsh superhit from Salman Khan. (And don’t be surprised in SRK starts copying the formula – cause Don 3 wont work). Till then Salman is officially the Rajni of Bollywood.

The BJP appealed to the large section of Hindus who saw the party as the protector of Hindu interests. Whilst the Indian National Congress was happy to play the poverty and minority interest card the Hindus aligned with the BJP - but not all of them. The phenomenal rise of the BJP saw them capture power in 1998 but not without the support of coalition parties that were not as hard liners.

To gain votes beyond the Hindu base BJP softened their stance and lost the Hindu vote in the process. Congress recaptured power in 2003 and BJP has been in a steady decline ever since. In the latest bid to woo back its political base Mr. L K Advani completed yet another Rath Yatra recently - signs of party utterly confused and lacking any kind of imagination. What the BJP fails to understand was in 92 India was on the verge of bankruptcy, under developed and unsophisticated country. Today the country stands on the economic forefront, unemployment is marginal and very few people have the time or desire to follow Advanis Rath.

BJP needs to re-invent itself in the interest of modern India or it risks passing away into the oblivion of India's political landscape.

Generally celebrity couples have an intense chemistry and they are able to project that on the screen. Having chemistry does not mean celebrity marriages go a long way - but atleast they seem to be married for the right reason. Eventually things may change and they get separated. But in Kim and Kris's case the on-screen chemistry was missing, the marriage seemed hollow and artificial.

And as it turns out 72 days after the wedding those 2 have parted ways. All that it was - a real life soap opera produce for channel E! They earned millions of dollars for their wedding videos got rich and will party now on - maybe earn even more by selling sympathy interviews. One finds it hard to imagine how could a woman create a fake wedding for money - but then what else do you exoect from a woman who created explicit videos to become a celebrity in the first place. Do not worry - eventually the money from this wedding will run out and Kim Kardashian will produce another soap opera for her eager audience.

Perry has single-handedly dismantled himself from the leading republican candidate to laughing stock for the masses and a shame to Texas.

In today's debate when asked about the 1 million uninsured kids in Texas he attacked Romney with this:

“You lose all of your standing from my perspective because you hired illegals in your home, and you knew about it for a year,” Perry said. “The idea that you stand here before us and talk about that you’re strong on immigration is on its face the height of hypocrisy.”

Then he attacked Herman Cain - calling him brother at least a couple of times in the process:

“Herman, I love you, brother, but let me tell you something, you don’t need to have a big analysis to figure this thing out. Go to New Hampshire, where they don’t have a sales tax, and you’re fixing to give them one,” he said. “They’re not interested in 9-9-9.”

Worst of all Perry boasted of a economic plan that he is working on and tried to convince everyone that his plan is the best without talking anything more than tapping the energy below our feet.

Added to his lackluster display he was the only candidate on the stage who was not applauded after finishing his point and was repeatedly boo-ed for his baseless attacks on his fellow republicans.

Perry is becoming an embarrassment for Texas and Texas A&M Alumni's. If this level of performance continues, forget the republican nomination, he can kiss goodbye to hopes of getting re-elected as Texas Governor.

The club has tradition and is known for rich culture and values. However their new striker and number 7 Luis Suarez is far cry from a class act. To me, Luis Suarez come out to be a class less citizen in the house of Liverpool FC and here are Five reasons for everyone to hate him:

5) He has a constipated face

4) He is always looking to go down at the faintest of touches from opposition players

3) When tackled by defenders his immediate reaction is to go down on his back and tap his hand repeatedly in ground as if his leg is broken. And 2 minutes later he would start walking

2) He directs racial abuses at opposition players

1) He intentionally hand balled in the Quarter final vs. Ghana and then shamelessly celebrated in front of South African fans.

To be Luis Suarez is a disgrace to the game of football and Liverpool FC and he has replaced Christiano Ronaldo as the most hated footballer in the English Premiere League.

Many would credit Steve jobs with imaginative ideas, but it think his contribution to the world was the gift of perfection. Apple seldom made inventive products. The computer was there, music players were around, cell phones were common, tablets were already tried. But with the PC, the iPod, iPhone and the iPad we got products that worked with near perfection, products that were simple to use and products that never crashed.

Looking upon Apples success competitors are imitating products. To beat Apple at its own game they are trying harder by adding features that Apple does not have and in the process making these competitor products more complex. Steve Job would have loved this. Having competitors who make complex hi tech products is the sole reason Apple is at the top of the tech ladder.

Steve Jobs was genius who realized that most people in the world are not brilliant. They cannot use complex products. Simplicity was his gift to the people of the world and they embraced it. People have compared with to Thomas Edison, but to me he is truly unique. A human being gifted with technical genius, people management skills, presentation skills and the vision of god. It should be remembered for the failure of the judicial systems in 2 different countries that cannot bring criminal to justice just because they have pretty faces. It should be remembered for how crafty sly lawyers in defense were able to get around their counterparts in prosecution.

Casey Anthony got away with the murder of her little daughter even when the jury was convinced that she committed the crime but no evidence was available. Amanda Knox got away the murder of her roommate in Italy – the prosecution had the evidence but the defense proved that it was tainted. There are huge similarities in the two cases. First of all both, Casey Anthony and Amanda Know are pretty ladies – and this played a huge part in their releases as the jury couldn’t imagine the beast within their beauty. In the after math of the crime these ladies committed, both of them embarked upon lying to the law to get away from their crime. Intense lying is what saved them. Casey Anthony was able send the search teams in wrong directions, prolonging the discovery of her daughter’s remains. While Amanda Knox used lies effectively to the same effect and her parents used lies to create a tainted image of the prosecution. The approach resulted in similar outcomes as both walked scot free

However the consequences for them are worlds apart. Casey Anthony was never seen after her release. She had to be escorted out in protection, and has received death threats. No TV networks in the US want to air her story or interview fearing public backlash. On the other hand Amanda Knox was welcomed to a heroes welcome in Seattle. She held a press conference; there is talk about a book, a movie, reality shows and all the celebrity press you can imagine. The media celebrated her and the crowd cheered her.

This brings me to the question – Why? Both were acquitted by the law one by the US law and other by the Italian law. Yet, Casey Anthony is the devil and Amanda Knox is the Angel. This just shows the hypocrisy of the media and the general public. Why is Amanda forgiven by Casey is bedeviled? Is it because Casey murdered a little girl and Amanda killed somebody of her own age? Or Is it because Casey murdered an American and Amanda killed a British national?

I really don’t understand.

They tried Eliot Spitzer, John King and now they have Erin Burnett. Burnett had her first show today and I would like to be kind to her in this review – The first show was utter disaster.

The show titled “Erin Burnett Out Front” projects that the show is about a lady journalist taking to the street and reporting hard facts, true journalism. But it turns out pretty lame. The stories were paltry, without endings and don’t lead to anything. Discussing stupid match making reality shows in China, Ashton Kutchers sex life in the segment "outcast of the day", trying to prove a Wallstreet protestor wrong on acts; is not the kind of material people are looking for 6pm show.

To add to embarrassment, Erin forgot to sign off the show, leaving the camera man focused on her and Anderson Cooper waiting for his turn. She raised her eye brows, asked the camera man “Whattt”, twisted her neck, said "ohhhh", and then “Its Anderson Cooper next” in a hurry. Worst way to sign off your show on the first day. CNN have another flop at 6pm on their hands. I bet they pull the show within 3 months.

When I think of Bank of America (BAC) I cannot help but be reminded of this old wise saying.

The bank epitomizes the American economy. Of the 300 million Americans nearly 58 million bank with BAC. Such is the might and standing of the bank in American economy that Washington is sweating at the mere thoughts of BAC failure. The American economy survived the Bear and Sterns and FNM and FMC failures through stimulus, but the Federal Reserve cannot see any amount of stimulus that would bail out BAC. Basically the bank has to stand on its feet and recover on its own – which it does not seem very keen on doing.

Today Bank of America announced a $5 fee per month for customers using Debit card. What other genius tactics can you devise to drive away your account holders when Banks like Citi, JPM and credit unions all over the country are offering free debit card services? Last week, Bill Maher referred the bank as “Skank of America” and that’s exactly what all their loyal customers are thinking right now. At a time when the bank needs capital; driving away the customers is going to lay the stone of the great American bank.

Geico have created such a huge impression using their Geco ads that people truly believe that Geico auto insurace is cheap. I was on Geico policy for over four years, but a reality started to dawn upon me. In the 4 years that my car depreciated by 40% my insurance cost actually went up. This on top of the fact that Geico had to pay Zero insurance claims on my behalf.

The one way relationship started to get a bit too much and i decided to show Geico the appropriate finger. My search of Auto insurance lead me to two replaceable candidates - State Farm and Farmers insurance. I ran by my Geico coverage with both the companies and teir bids came out 22% and 25% lower than what i was paying!!!

That says it all. I will advice everyone reading this blog to ditch Geico ASAP. It is a company owned my Warren Buffet. When you are dealing with a guy who is amongst the richest in the world i think we all know who gets a good deal. My objective over the next 1 year is to cost Geico atleast 12 customers - i hope i succeed but there is no way to know. So do leave a comment if your search for auto insurance leads you here and you decide to switch ;)

[Geico should probably change their marketing slogan to my blog title. I couldn’t imagine that election time rhetoric can be so much entertaining. Here is a breakdown of the performance of all the candidates.

Rick Perry is now a clear winner of the republican debates. He comes out as a string man of conservative values and has an air of presidency about him. Of all the candidates Rick Perry makes sure that he gets across the message that people want to hear. Everybody wants to know that the next president will fix the economy and that is what he exactly tells them. While other candidates focus on undermining Perry or Romney, Perry just ignores them and focuses on the issues. So far he seems the most likely to be nominated.

Mitt Romney was the guy who had the presidential air about him. Now he is just the runner up who is trying to go after Perry and salvage his position. He looses his calm, gets too agitated and starts hackling when confronted with Perry. He used to focus on issues but now his focus is Perry who took his number 1 spot within 1 week of joining the race. Romney is finding this hard to swallow and I won’t be surprised if he falls further behind.

Ron Paul is this crazy guy who says things that no presidential candidate dare say. Things that are considered anti America, calls to withdraw from all wars, let Iran have nuclear weapons but protect the borders. Ron Paul is a thinker, an economist an very educated man, he is the guy America needs to solve the economic issues – and a small percentage of Americans are now realizing that and agreeing with him. He is now the number 3 but his problem is there are just too many people out there who will fall to the jingoism out there.

Michelle Bachman is the crazy woman who keeps dishing out her idiotic one liner “Barack Obama will be a one term president”. She does not focus on issues. Focusing on Perry and his vaccination decision – not going to get her too far. She is loosing the debates and soon she will be out of contention.

Gary Johnson – This guy has a light air feeling. He seems like a guy who can handle pressure with a smile and make everyone smile with him. He doesn’t have presidential air about him but I won’t be surprised if the country falls on a guy who can lighten the mood a bit and buoy everybody along with him. Gary Johnson is the candidate to watch over the next few weeks and most likely to rise to the top and then on slug it out with Rick Perry.

Herman Cain is not going to be nominated and he should have withdrawn by now. He is zero experience with politics and international affairs and would be the wrong candidate.

Newt Gringrich is another candidate who is making too much noise and has too little substance and too mush debt. He should drop out.

Rick Santorum is again too much noise. Empty vessels make all the noise and Santorum is exactly that. By attacking Perry and Romney all he is vying for is few months of fame.

John Huntsman is not even making the noise and no one is paying attention to him. This guy has factories in China and he is a former Obama aide. Why is he even in the race?

This was my take on the Republican race to nominate a candidate. Feel free to leave your comments if you agree or disagree. After all this is a debate!
