A few days ago, Victoria's Secret unveiled their new Fantasy Miracle Bra. If you are familiar with VS, you will know that they have a new luxurious bra every year end in the spirit of Christmas. This year is no exception. Here comes the Victoria's Secret 2008 Black Diamond Fantasy Miracle Bra created by diamond jeweler, Martin Katz.

This bra is set with 3575 black diamonds, 117 certified 1 cart round diamonds, and 34 rubies. The tow black diamond drops that you see in the image total 100 carats. Total carat weight is 1500 ct. Total price is US$5 million.

With so many diamonds and rubies, I wonder if they played the song, "Diamonds and Rubies" at the unveiling. Anyway, with this price tag, I wonder if there would be a buyer and if there is, if it will be worn or just for display or as a collector's item.

Also, I think that Victoria's Secret should have their Fantasy Miracle bras come with a matching string too. Don't you think so?

Triumph International Japan’s Jury Bra

I came across this article on Japan Today a couple of weeks ago but could not seem to find time to collect my thoughts to whip up a post. I have been so busy getting my own lingerie listed on the Store in time for the holidays, you see.

Anyway, once again, Triumph International Japan came out with a social bra like they have done for the past few years. Remember their No Shopping Bag bra, "My Chopstick Bra" and Anti-Smoking bra? This time round, it's the Jury bra, which I understand, was designed in conjunction with the lay juror system which will start in Japan come 21st May, 2009.

Although I have to say that the Japanese are a pretty creative and innovative lot, this Jury System bra is so ugly, it's like golden coconut bras. Whenever I see such novelty bras from Triumph International Japan, I have to ask if there is anyone who would buy and wear them. Would you?

Shhh™ by Robin Antin

I got to know of the launch of a new range of Shhh™ by Robin Antin, the creator of Pussycat Dolls from the latest La Senza mailer a couple of days ago. Yes, I am behind time once again. Running multiple blogs does that. SIGH!!!

I don't deny that I do not particularly like the Pussycat Dolls, their dressing or their music. If I remember correctly, they did a show here in Malaysia and managed to get a fine for their improper dressing.

I went over to the website of La Senza to check out this latest range of lingerie by Robin Antin and I must say, I really am impressed with the quality of the lingerie design. Yes, they were designed by Robin Antin and modeled by the Pussycat Dolls too.

Prices for Shhh™ by Robin Antin on La Senza are a little steep, to me. I don’t know about you but I think that prices will come down soon to make Shhh™ more affordable to everyone. Let’s wait for La Senza sale!

Karen Mok Lingerie

A couple of weeks ago, I watched this old Hong Kong movie, Tempting Heart, and one of the actresses in it was Karen Mok. It has been a long time since I watched her or read about her. Heck, it has been a long while since I kept in touch with the Hong Kong entertainment industry as I was busying myself with Korean dramas and movies instead.

However, after watching Karen Mok in Tempting Heart, I was reminded that she launched her own lingerie line earlier this year in January, 2008, the first Asian celebrity to do so, just like Western celebrities. Well, Karen Mok is really forward thinking, I must say. After all, she is not pure Chinese and was educated in the West.

In this Karen Mok lingerie line, Karen herself designed these luxurious lingerie pieces and on top of that, she modeled them herself as well. I managed to dig these old shots online, thankfully. Enjoy!

Peaches Geldof in Agent Provocateur ‘Season of the Witch’ Campaign

19-year-old Peaches Geldof, who angered his father, Sir Bob Geldof, for her hasty marriage to boyfriend, 23-year-old Max Drummey last month in Las Vegas after only two months of dating, once again created a shock, this time by modeling for Agent Provocateur in their 'Season of the Witch' ad campaign.

Agent Provocateur is a well-known British lingerie brand that opened its first lingerie store in 1994 in London but has now expanded to thirteen other major cities around the world. A little bit of trivia for those who are interested, one half of the founders of Agent Provocateur Joseph Corré, who is the son of British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood and ex-manager of the Sex Pistols, Malcolm McLaren.

Agent Provocateur lingerie and the ad campaign have always aimed to shock and provoke. Their break came with their 2001 ad campaign that featured Kylie Minogue. Kate Moss also appeared for Agent Provocateur twice in 2006 and 2008.

This latest ad campaign called 'Season of the Witch', features Peaches Geldof, whom Agent Provocateur say has just the right "look" and "person of the moment".

New York Fashion Week Kicks Off With Pole Dancers In Lingerie

New York Fashion Week, a week-long fashion parade in New York's Bryant Park, begins Friday. It is an annual event where fashion designers showcase their Spring collections.

Heather Thomson, lingerie creator and celebrity stylist, jump started her show with pole dancing where she personally hand-picked eight of the best pole dancers in the city to showcase her Yummie Tummie shapewear lingerie.

I spotted this photo on the website of The Telegraph UK, which I occasionally read online. This photo shows a group of models walking in front of a giant billboard that is made up of a thousand images of women wearing the Wonderbra, forming a 'mosaic'.

Stella McCartney Sees “Bra”

Stella McCartney, the daughter of ex-Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney, was furious when she spotted her bra being used in a Hockley advertisement, published in Vogue fashion magazine recently and ordered the advert to be dropped.

Stella McCartney, everyone knows, is a very vocal animal rights supporter and strict vegetarian.

Hockley is a high-end London boutique that stocks the world's best fur designers. In this advert, the model is seen draped in a Hockley full length mink, black and white coat with a price tag of £6,450, over a Stella McCartney bra.

Apparently, Stella McCartney had loaned the bra to a stylist friend who then loaned it to Hockley. Hockley has apologized and said that if they had known that the bra is from Stella McCartney collection, they would not have used it. Hockley has also agreed to drop the advert.

Case closed.

I had actually wanted to start a category where I write about online lingerie merchants and retailers. I started with Playboy Store but have not had the time to follow up with another lingerie online store lately.

It's National Underwear Day today, marking the 6th annual National Underwear Day, since its inception in 2003 by FreshPair.com. What is the first thing you put on in the morning and the last thing you take off at night. It's supposed to be your underwear.

This year's celebration will see a larger pool of sponsors than ever and thousands of pairs of underwear will be expected to be given away to lucky people. Don’t I just wish to be in New York City right now to be able to get my hands on some underwear freebies?

Researching, writing about and selling lingerie online these past three years, I have come to realize that the French overall has the most feminine lingerie.

Give me ten French lingerie labels and nine of them would be what I consider sultry, sexy and ultra feminine. I don’t know what it is about the French. Maybe it is the atmosphere in the country.

But, if you think that it would be easy for me to write post after post of French lingerie, it is not, because I don’t speak French and I can never pronounce their brand names and have trouble spelling them.

Like I mentioned before, it is not enough to have the product, presentation of it is of equal importance and these from Bien Fée Pour Toi have been artistically and creatively shot. I love them.

David Beckham launched a new line of Emporio Armani underwear almost a month ago. How could I forget? Too bad, David Beckham no longer is “hot” to me, so I lost my focus! :-D

Whatever… I managed to salvage a couple of his advertisement campaign posters and also a picture taken at the event on 18th June, 2008, where David Beckham unveiled new Emporio Armani underwear at Macy’s. David Beckham also took time to sign autographs for his fans.

To me, the advertisements look great artistically but the real deal is kind of different. I guess this is what people call “weather beaten” LOL Anyway, I pity guys. They don’t have much choice when it comes to underwear. Perhaps David Beckham can go back to wearing Victoria’s thongs?

Selita Ebanks Victoria’s Secret Angel

With Victoria’s Secret finally wrapping up their popular VS semi-annual sale, I thought that it is an opportune time to feature a Victoria’s Secret Angel. I have done quite a few VS angels before.

Since taking a break from blogging, I have lost touch on the newer angels but one name that caught my attention is Selita Ebanks, especially after the fiasco with Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey’s recycled ring. Of course, they denied that but I guess no one knows the truth except the parties involved.

So it was not difficult to decide on whom to write on today. Selita Ebanks was born in Grand Cayman, the British Cayman islands, on February 15th, 1983. She has seven brothers and grew up a tomboy.

What many people are not aware of is that she became much sought after by Victoria’s Secret after she underwent breast augmentation, going from Bra cup size A to 33C.

See, even for someone who looks beautiful enough as she is, standing at 5ft 9in, she still needs a little help to make herself more “perfect”. I don’t think we should depend on plastic surgery unless it is for medical purposes but I am not going to judge her.

Selita Ebanks has been touted as the successor of Tyra Banks, who left active modeling for a TV career. It could be because of their exotic looks, skin color and coincidentally, their similar family names.

For this post, I scoured the web for images of Selita Ebanks in lingerie, particularly in Victoria’s Secret lingerie, and some taken during Victoria’s Secret’s fashion shows, in 2006 and 2007.

I think that Selita Ebanks has done very well for herself, coming from a humble background, hence she is giving back to society in charitable efforts in the British Cayman islands where she comes from. That certainly is commendable.

Tila Tequila In Lingerie

My sister asked me if I have heard of Tila Tequila. She says that Tila is ultra hot in the United States and that men are having fantasies of her! My sister suggested that I do a post on her here on my blog, LingerieXpert. Eh... I have heard of Tila Tequila but I am not sure if I have enough material to feature her here. Does Tila Tequila WEAR lingerie???

Tila Tequila was born in Singapore on 24th October, 1981. She is of Vietnamese descent and her given name is actually Thien Thanh Thi Nguyen, a typical Vietnamese name.

Soon after her birth, her family of "boat people" migrated to Houston, Texas, where she was raised. Tila adopted the name Tila Nguyen. As a teenager, Tila was a problematic child and got into so much trouble that she got kicked out of school. As she mentioned, she suffered from identity crisis, like it sometimes happen to non-American kids living in America.

Tila was spotted by a Playboy agent. While she declined the opportunity to by a Playboy bunny at first, she accepted it later and used that as a stepping stone to greater opportunities. Tila holds an illustrious portfolio now, including Queen of MySpce.com, though I could not understand why MySpace would want an ambassadress like Tila Tequila.

For the purpose of this post, I went through almost a thousand photos of Tila Tequila, and could only come up with these photos of her in something that at least resembles lingerie! Pathetic, isn't it?

A Tribute To Ruslana Korshunova

I am sure by now, everyone would have heard or read about 20-year-old Kazakh supermodel Ruslana Korshunova's tragic death. While reports are pointing towards suicide, let's hope that there was nothing sinister in her untimely death and that it was just a fatal accident.

Janet Jackson announced that she is working on a new lingerie line. Oh-oh is that good or bad news? Remember her "wardrobe malfunction" incident? Is there anyone who would want to wear her lingerie and support her sales with her sense of fashion? And I don't think that it would be anywhere cheap too with her name stitched on her lingerie?

This looks like the trend of many "has been" celebrities to venture into stuff like lingerie, perfume, shoes and other "female" items.

Personally, I am not particularly interested in Janet Jackson's lingerie designs. Knowing her taste, they would most probably turn out too risqué for my liking. Bah! However, if you are looking forward to Janet Jackson lingerie, you would have to wait till later this year when it is expected to hit stores.

Larry Birkhead Wins Anna Nicole Smith’s Lingerie In Auction

Anna Nicole Smith's ex-lover Larry Birkhead, snapped up two articles of Anna Nicole's lingerie items claiming these are keepsakes for their daughter, one year old Dannielynn, to remember her mother by.

Well, one would think that he's being a great, sentimental father to Dannielynn but that is certainly one of the weirdest gestures a father could do for his daughter. I wonder what Dannielynn would think of her mother. Hopefully, she will grow up to be a fine young lady, unlike her mother!

Larry Birkhead reportedly spent US$3000 in the auction of Anna Nicole Smith's lingerie. There was no mention on who auctioned them, or were photos circulated so we do not know exactly which lingerie pieces Larry Birkhead bid on and won in the auction.

I would certainly like to take a look at Anna Nicole Smith's lingerie. Are you as curious as I am which Anna Nicole's lingerie that Larry Birkhead snapped up?

Marisa Miller: Top Lingerie Model

For today's post, I actually contemplated if I should write about Marisa Miller, Adriana Karembeu or Colombian lingerie designer Ines Vanegas.

In the end I decided on Marisa Miller because it has been ages since I wrote about a hot lingerie model and Marisa Miller is number one on Maxim's Hot 100 this year so there's no denying her popularity. By the way, she is at number nine on Ask Men's 2008 list of 99 hot female celebrities.

While Marisa Miller does not have the most striking of facial features, she does have a body to die for, yet she thinks that it is the most shameful thing on yet. Then why continue to flaunt it? Haha!

Marisa Miller is more popular as a swimsuit or bikini model thanks to her incessant appearance on Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. However, in line with the theme of my blog, I am more interested to see Marisa Miller in lingerie and there's no shortage of shots of her in lingerie thanks to her work with Victoria's Secret.

As if Marisa Miller is not hot enough, this shot of her wearing ONLY an Apple iPod made her a hit among men. I have to admit, her looks shone through in this shot!

Bracli Luxury Original Pearl Thong

The other day, when I was writing about Cosabella Sex and the City Lingerie Collections, I was reminded of something else that made waves when it appeared on Sex and the City about a year ago. It was the original Mallorcan pearl thong by Spanish luxury lingerie maker, Bracli.

I have sold pearl thongs before and although what I had was not as daring as these from Bracli, they were very well received. If I could get my hands on Bracli, I am sure they will sell like hot cakes here. Hhmmmm I must add, though, I am sure wearing these pearl thongs will not be comfortable at all.

I believe that luxury lace and pearl lingerie by Bracli is not available in Malaysia but with more and more people shopping online or shopping overseas, I wouldn’t be surprise if there are ladies here with Bracli luxury lingerie in their collection of lingerie!

Want to know how much these are? Bracli lace and pearl bras are sold in some online retailers at £45.00 while lace and pearl thongs are sold from £35.00 - £45.00. So a set of these would be at least £80.00. Ahem ….

For those daring enough, they perhaps would like to try Bracli thongs with two stunning rows of Mallorcan pearls. That’s really something!

Gladys Knight Knightwear – Plus Size Celebrity Lingerie

Today, I thought I would write about plus size lingerie. I really wanted something different since I have written on Katie Price plus size lingerie twice and the plus size lingerie carried by Lane Bryant, the specialist in plus size apparel, does not meet my standards.

Anyway, I thought I would write about Gladys Knight's Knightwear, her celebrity plus size lingerie line which was launched about two years ago. To my disappointment, I could not find any fresh information on Knightwear except this promotional picture of Gladys Knight in one of her plus size silk lingerie item.

You know, first of all, I find it rather dumb to name her lingerie line "Knightwear". I know it is supposedly a clever play of her name but then there is nothing feminine about the name and does not really reflect the product. Branding is very important when competition is so stiff, even though there are not too many lingerie labels that cater to plus size African Americans.

Knightwear will only conjure the image of masculine medieval armoured wear and ugh, I am sorry, I don't want these as my underwear!

I went to check the website of Ashley Stewart, a store that specializes in plus size apparel for African American women in general, which carried Knightwear when it was first launched and could not find this plus size lingerie label anymore. Seriously, they need a name change!

Natori Couture Lingerie

Just now, when I was randomly surfing around, I chanced upon the website of The Natori Company. I remember selling a couple of Natori panties not too long ago. They were very high quality stuff but it took me quite a while to sell them because the people here are unfamiliar with the brand.

My sister told me that Natori is a well-known Japanese brand in America. Upon reading the history of Natori, now I understand that the brainchild behind Natori is actually a Filipina. Natori is her husband's family name and it is Japanese. So I don't think we can call it a "Japanese label".

Anyway, browsing through the collections of Natori, including Josie Natori, Josie and Cruz, I think that here on the Natori webstore, their focus is no on the basic bras, panties and thongs but rather on couture lingerie. In fact, you may have to buy basic Natori bra and panty at a brick-n-mortar store near you.

I am a little disappointed that Natori does not have a Spring/Summer 2008 lingerie collection. Judging from the seriously high price tags, I am not surprised that Natori is not sold here in Malaysia.

My friend told me that she bought an organic dress from Singapore recently. I tell you, I wonder how clothes can be organic as well. Does anyone care to explain? Anyway, I decided to check if there’s something called organic lingerie and sure enough, there is! And by none other than Stella McCartney too. Why am I not surprised?

Stella McCartney has an organic lingerie collection called “Daisy Dreaming” and it is available at stores in the United Kingdom and online retailers too. I wonder if they are well received by lingerie lovers since these will not be cheap. They are, after all, organic lingerie!
