We all know the quality of Living Language methods. This one is an excellent support to teach (American) English as a Second Language (ESL). It's not designed as a self-teaching method, so a teacher is needed for absolute beginners. Nevertheless, I believe it can be very helpfull for anyone with a basic knowledge of English, maybe even at intermediate level, especially to improve your listening ability (try to transcript the dialogs without using the book) and pronunciation (always speak aloud rather than work mentally).

As a matter of fact, the success was incredible everywhere: it was adapted and sold in more than 80 countries! It is still considered by experts as the best English course ever published by the BBC, and also the world’s most famous English course.

BBC DVD ENGLISH is the new updated version of Follow Me!. It is divided in two language levels (Beginners and Intermediate), and the complete course comprises a total of 30 didactical units, contained in 30 DVD's and 6 books (or 30 partworks).

Each DVD is divided in three sections:

Presentation: Entertaining everyday situations played by English actors using progressive language based on the specifications of the Council of Europe’s experts. The students may choose between watching them without subtitles or with subtitles in English or in their native language.
Explanation: A tutor in the learner’s language explains the grammar and vocabulary used in the Presentation.
Practice: The tutor proposes different exercises and drills for the students to practice what they have learnt in the previous sections.

The Student’s books, entirely bilingual, complement the explanations from the videos, show the differences between British and American English and include more than 2,300 exercises for practicing the written language.

BBC MULTIMEDIA ENGLISH features its exclusive On line checking system that automatically corrects every mistake made by the student when doing the exercises and takes him/her to the corresponding explanation.

I was very surprised when I discovered nothing of this masterwork in language teaching had been published on uz-translations yet. And I decided to create a major news giving a general framework to welcome all contributions related to it. I believe it will be easier for all of us, and I hope my (too) long description will make the story of this product less confusing. Please, if you have any stuff that can complete this news, post it here and make this news a new one so that other users can know it.

Don't be surprised too (the reason is just above!), if in spite of the title news, what I post today is "only" the full set of BBC MULTIMEDIA ENGLISH CD-ROM's (I don't have the optional books or partworks). It's an independent set that was separately sold anyway, and it can be used as a complete course, even without the optional books.

Don't ask for mirrors, I will add them in the coming days.
