If I understand correctly, you have a PSTN line (or several) connected to the SPA400 which is then registered to the Asterisk PBX?
Each PSTN line of the SPA400 is only capable of one subscriber connection,so a waiting call cannot share that line unless you toggle it through the public exchange.
The alternative would be to cascade your PSTN lines so you have a first-up line on SPA400 line 1, then the next call will come to line 2 of the SPA400, and so on.
Costs more in PSTN bills, so it would be neater and cheaper to go the TISP route with one that will handle several calls simultaneously, and that would register directly to the Asterisk PBX.
Unfortunately there are thousands of devices – some that are RFC-standards-compliant and some that are not – and we cannot possibly support all of them or guarantee that those not standards-compliant will work successfully with every aspect of our service. Cisco/Linksys has released a new product – the SPA400 – which is described as a voicemail server for the SPA9000. The marketing materials seem to suggest that the SPA400 will function successfully with standards-compliant providers like InPhonex. In the LAN to mobile I need the following line:

register.voipgate.com 0764261111

In the voipgate line of the spa9000 I needed to add the following:
Contact list 102, cfwd=105
Cfwd No Ans Delay: 15

In this way the incoming line will ring at my office (102) but after 3 rings will forward the call to my mobile number through the mv370 on extension 105:p

Not necessarily the right forum for a discussion about Grandstream, but I tried it out when the Linksys still had loads of bugs and I was impressed how quickly it could be setup initially. I'm sure there are bugs, judging from the Grandstream forum, but since then Linksys addressed almost every one of my concerns and the others I had a workaround. After all it is an entry-level system.
Grandstream have released a couple of firmware updates since then, but I've not had the time or inclination to configure it out and test it, although one of my major project has recently finished so I may take it up again for completeness.

Hi to all... My name is Enrico, and this is my first post...
I've a SPA9000 v1, firmware 3.2.3(d), and i've tryed to configure it with the lastest wizard application, but after the configuration, the unit doesn't respond anymore, and i can't neither reset the configurtion via a phone connected, as it keeps rebooting itself every 4 secs. Seem that the wizard application has in some ways broken the firmware.
The cisco community forums have declared dead the device, but i can't RMA it. So i've tryied to desolder the flash chip and read the content (i've a programmer that can read that type of flash), with the hope to upgrade manually the firmware, or reset the configuration, or at least do something for take back to life.
I wasn't able to find the original 3.2.3(d) firmware, so a direct comparison of the firmware loaded on the flash vs a bin update file (present in the update packet distributed by cisco/linksys/sipura) it's impossible.
Comparing the flash with a 3.2.5 version seem that are quite different...
Maybe the bin file isn't directly loaded 'as is' on the flash chip, surely it's saved at on offset on the flash (the first part of the flash seem something like a bootloader).

Maybe i can try to understand how the cpu read the content of the flash (i know a little bit of asm and microprocessor low level programming), but i dont' know what type of cpu there is inside (it's a proprietary sipura cpu, not know the instruction set), and doing it in this way will be a very long mode to repare it.
The fastest way to repair it is to read the whole content of an another v1 spa9000 hardware and copy it to my flash chip.

Someone have some suggestions? Or know where i can find a 3.2.3(d) firmware for a better direct comparison??

Really thanks!!!

Hi,

I'll try to do my best to explain my problem and any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have a SAP9000, SPA400 and 5 x SPA942.

This is my home office, so the 400 has 1 POTS line (home phone) connected to it and also acts as the VM server. The 9000 is configured for Line 1 to be the 400 and Line 2 to be my RingCentral DigitalLine service.

Anyways, the POTS line works great, in & out no problem. The VoIP line receives calls prefectly (I've tested with 5 simultaneous calls and all work). When I dial out using the VoIP line the 942 displays "Session Progress" and the number I'm calling rings (in this case my cell phone). When I answer the ringing cell phone I hear nothing. About 3 seconds later the 942 displays "Call Ended" and then about 45 seconds into the call the cell phone acknowledges that the call ended.

Here's the interesting part... if I take the SIP settings for my VoIP and configure them as an Ext (I tried 2&3) on a 942 that single phone can make all the calls it wants on the VoIP without any problem (even simultaneous calls). I've even tried configure VoIP on all 5 942s and they all register (of course only the last to register rings) and they all can make calls. Even 5 hours after I have set them up (so re-registering isn't a problem).

I'm assuming the 9000 is properly placing the calls, but why doesn't the 942 realize the call is going? As far as SIP settings, all I have is a proxy, outbound proxy, User ID, Auth ID and password.

Well, that's my story.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... as I'm pulling my hair out!

Thanks,
Hi Phil

Did you fixed your problem i am having something similar with the sp9000
let me know if you had an idea or something here is my trouble.

Hi i just bought an SPA9000 , and i wonder if i can setup to make direct ip callings.

I am using the FXS 1 on the spa9000 and Line 1 is already registered to my VOIP provider.

PBX Parameters
Call Routing Rule: (<:L1>4xx.|<:L2>8xx.|<:L3>7xx.|<:L4>6xx.)

And Line 1 Dial Plan is :
(<4:>xxxxxxx<:@mydynds.com:5061>)

So it makes the call and this is the log

Ok here goes a stab at it
My dial plan in the 9000 (and all the phones) is
|9,<5:01155>xxxxxxxxxx|
9 gets you line 1 (my VOIP line) you can dial 6 or 7 and this accesses my line 3 and 4

<5:01155>xxxxxxxxxx when you dial a 5 this will automatically dial 01155
This is the international and country code. I call this a lot and wanted to simplify the dialing. so when you dial 95 then the number the 9000 dials out line one 01155 and the number as it strips the 9 out. so could you substitute your * where I have my 01155 in this case?
