Amber has decided to take a leave from blogging & all social networking so I'm back on my own again for this link-up. You know, just in case you all were wondering where she's been at.

1. I'm so excited about The Killing coming back next month! Also, have you guys seen the new trailer for Dexter? Deb looks like she's turned into some sort of junkie whore. What a mess.

2. Sinus pressure/pain is a bitch. I'm currently sitting at my desk, mouth breathing, rubbing one side of my sinus and have a tissue sticking out the other nostril. As sexy as this sounds, I'm grumpy as fuck so people better back the fuck off.

3. Did you guys watch the Billboards Music awards? Well, I didn't but I did see this gif showing Taylor Swift being a total hater when Selena & the Beiber are being all mushy. There's always that friend, right?

4. Very little has made me laugh lately but this shit...hilarious!

5. July (I think) will be my 5th year of blogging. I don't know if this chapter of my life is ready to close but I'm fresh out of ideas & the impulse to write or rant is somewhat gone. The thing is, I'm not ready to let go of it, or you guys just yet.

6. There's nothing better than some good old fashion shitty daytime talk shows to make you feel better about your life. Seriously, how many guys did you fuck in a one month period to not know who the child's father is? Close your g-damn legs!

7. I've always found Mythbusters to be pretty boring. You know, all that smart science stuff = snorefest, but this just made the show so much better.

8. Way too much money was spent this weekend. One of these expenditures was me getting back my XM radio. I know I said I didn't need it but I really really missed it & it makes my (almost) 2 hour commute to & from work so much easier.

9. I don't get the big hype about Nutella but this is exactly what I imagine when people say they "love it!"

10. I'm so behind on blog reading & commenting. I suck, and I'm sorry. But it seems like every time I get back on track something happens to get off track, like a stupid head cold. Or laziness.

Random Thursday: My Dream House...

Good morning all you fabulous people! Tomorrow's Friday, which means it's also payday and I just found a Pulp Fiction on Netflix...it's gonna be a good day.

Hopefully you're here cause you're joining us in today's topic but if not, I'm just glad you're here. So, please, stick around.

Like most everything else, I waited til last night to start this post and once I got onto Pinterest this post was shot to shit. I forgot how big of a time suck that site was. So yeah, that's why this post is going up a little late. On the plus side, I found some pretty rad ideas for my "dream home".

1. Bedrooms - one bedroom for every person in the house, plus 2 guest bedrooms for when family visits.
2. Kitchen - top notch appliances, huge island in the middle, double ovens, lots of storage, and tons of counter space. If it could come with my very own Rosie, I'd be in heaven.
3. Office - I dont plan to work from home (this girl gets cabin fever quickly) but I do want my very own office that I can paint a pretty seafoam green & have white furniture in.
4. Home Theater - not just another family room. Nuh-uh a REAL theater with projector & reclining leather chairs, soda fountain machine, popcorn machine & stocked candy bar. Hell, I'd probably end up living in that room alone.
5. Garage(s) - two-two car garages located on the opposite end of one another so Rusty can have one to put all his tools & man toys in, I can have the other one for my car(s) and there's very little chance of his junk getting into my garage.
6. Foyer - since seeing Charlotte's beautiful apartment foyer in SATC, I've always wanted one. Someone would definitely have to come in & decorate it for me cause I've got zero style but whatevs.

Swimming pool - in just this layout cause it's fucking perfect.

Sun Room - with lots of windows where I can go into & relax while I read on my giant comfy couch or giant hanging swing or both, like this one.
Porch - not just any porch either, a big beautiful wrap around porch that goes from one end of the house to another.

1. The temps have been in the three-digits up in here. I'm not a fan. Especially when I get in my car & burn my butt/lower back cause my dumb ass still hasn't gotten my windows tinted.

2. This is totally me. Freakin' fatty mcfatterson.

3. Rusty & I started a Harry Potter marathon on Saturday. I had high hopes that we'd get through all of them. Ha, what a fucking joke. He made it through 75% of the first one (he's seen them TONS of times, unlike myself) and I almost made it through the second. Forgot how long those damn movies were.

4. Went to the local library this weekend & spent about two hours there just browsing. Nothin' like the smell of old books to make you smile.

5. Finding a painting to go over the couch is turning into a giant pain in the ass. Why does everything have to be so damn expensive? I mean, what happened to starving artists selling their shit for pennies?

6. How in fucks sake do you NOT know what a cat looks like?! Some people shouldn't be allowed to make simple life decisions. Ever.

7. I've been giving serious thought to starting up a SoCal bloggers group/blog. I know it's gonna be all kinds of work but I've got a lot of down time right now so, yeah. Mostly I just want to meet up with other local peeps...I need friends yo.

8. I don't even have kids but I find this so fascinating & handy. If you're a mom, you should totally do this.

9. Yellow gummy bears are gross. They should make packages that only come with red, green and white ones. AKA: the best ones. With that said, I just dropped a green one on my cubicle floor, picked off the limt and ate that sucker.

10. Does anyone else remember this song? It's a pretty messed up but I remember singing it with my friends in 6th grade. Totally epic. Hm...maybe I should try remaking this awesome video...?

Monday Morning Ups & Downs

I've been running really low on the blog topic ideas lately, including this morning. So instead of going with something well thought of (which I don't have) I've decided to go with my gut & post about the stuff that's already managed to make my Monday morning both suck & be somewhat awesome.

All my favorite ABC shows have been renewed! I didn't doubt for a second that Revenge (holy shit, that season finale was so awesome!) or Scandal would be renewed but I'm glad Castle made it. Nathan Fillion is hilarious and so damn cute with all his wittiness.

I don't know what is about me swooning over dorky dudes but I totally just crushed even harder for John Krasinski. Dude's got serious moves...better than Jagger's.

These two were cancelled. Booo! I swear poor Matthew Perry can't catch a g-damn break. Go On was hilarious, definitely a bad move on your part NBC. And, TNT...oh you fucked up big time by cancelling this amazing show. Southland is like the only good show they have. Dummies.

Another week, another topic...but at least it's hours from Friday yo! There's nothing going on this weekend but for some reason I'm pretty excited about it. Guess it's just the fact I don't have to sit at my boring old desk & nod as my supervisor awkwardly talks to me about her cat.

Alrighty, lets move on to this weeks topic:

Ok, don't make fun, I'm totally trusting you all with these embarrassing secrets.

Up until a few years ago (yes, I was an adult) I used to think this sign meant there was an amusement park nearby. No lie, I used to pass them on the freeway and think "holy hell, there sure is a lot of fun stuff to do around these parts." I know, kind of lame but pretty damn funny.

*bows head in shame* I watched this crap ass fake-supposed-to-be-real sex tape. Not only does she pathetically call her professional porn star co-star "baby", "babe", and asks him to "cuddle" throughout the movie but she sucks at sex. Also, when the cover claims you take it up the pooper we expect you to suck it up & take it like a champ, not some sissy who can only handle a few centimeters. Farrah needs to stop fighting her welfare future cause it's totally gonna happen.

Happiness...

I read a tweet this morning that asked, is happiness attainable?

Which of course got me thinking, "am I happy?" Truth is, I am...most of the time. If I were told to break it up into percentages then I'd have to go with I'm happy maybe 85% of the time.

That's not so bad, right? Right?

Happiness comes in waves. It's supposed to, I think. Otherwise you're ass will be walking around all day looking like a damn smiling fool and people will think you're on drugs. Not the good kind either.

Growing up I'd hoped to one day have true love that brought me nothing but happiness, family that only brought me joy and a job that I never wanted to leave because I loved it so much. I didn't get it all (I'd leave my job in heartbeat for something that pays more) but I'm definitely happy with what I did end up with.

Without the bad I can't appreciate all the good. So today, try to appreciate the little happy moments and the small things that make you happy instead of concentrating on all the shitty parts.

1. The worst thing about calling in sick to work is having to deal with coworkers asking what was wrong with you when you're back. What happened to just saying "hope you're feeling better" and leaving it at that? You're my coworkers, not my friends. Butt out.

2. This is exactly what I tell people. Especially when they try sharing my damn food.

3. Anne Hathaway as blonde? Yeah, it's not the worst I've seen but I'm not sure I'm diggin it. And that dress...oy.

4. Finally got around to making that "date jar" I've been talking about for months. Still have to paint the jar so we can't see the date ideas but I overall it was a fun project for both Rusty & I. Truth is it'll probably end up on a shelf in the closet but at least it'll be there if we ever find ourselves bored as hell.

5. I've recently become addicted to this show. And seeing hot ass Joshua Jackson in it has only brought back the love I felt for him in Dawson's Creek. Damn you Pacey, you were supposed to stay with me not Joey!

6. Teen Moms Farrah's "it's supposed to be real life but I got a professional production team to film it" sex video is officially out. Not gonna lie, I'm a little curious about the final cut cause her co-star is a pretty "big" star.

7. This is totally Rusty when he runs out of Dr. Pepper. Dude is a total drama queen when he doesn't get his soda fix.

8. Bahaha, yes!

9. XM radio is no longer part of my daily commute. This makes me a very sad panda. Stupid budget...why do you have to be so little?

10. The bitch in me is being pushed aside by the optimist in me today.

It's almost Friday guys; you can have a few seconds to jump up & down at that idea. Best part is tomorrow's payday which means I can stop using the fast food napkins I've collected and finally go buy some. Times are tough yo.

Moving on. Here's this week's topic.

If you read Monday's post then you pretty much know this topic wasn't the easiest for me. Truth is it taught me two things; 1- I need to stay as far away from a camera as possible (no photography business in my future) and 2 - my ass needs to start hitting that gym again. As uncomfortable as I am posting these novice photos, I'm doing it cause I said I would and I can always deny it's me later, since I chopped my head off these suckers anyway. Yeah, smart thinking.

Not my favorite dress but it does the job when I'm on the job. Think it's the high waist line I dont care much for.

Bought this dress last summer but have yet to actually wear it out. Congratulations, you guys are the first to see me in it! Also, these are the most comfortable wedges ever.

Havent worn this skirt in years but found it in the bottom of my drawer & thought "what the hell...why not".

And by "everyday" I really mean everyday. If I didn't have to wash these shorts every now & then I'd never take them off. Same goes for the chucks, see how filthy those fuckers are?

Can you tell I have a fascination with pockets? What can I say, I hate hauling around a clunky ass purse to just store my cell phone & chapstick in.

1. Fact: I find vacuuming very relaxing; could probably do it every couple of hours. My OCD has found something new to be cuckoo about.

2. I'm thinking I should probably put one of those travel size deodarants in my glove box because sometimes, after I'm at work, I realize I forgot to put some on after the shower. Talk about walking around all day like a damn penguin. A stinky penguin.

3. What. The. Scary. Fuck. Is. This?! Police Chief Brody was right, stay out of the water yo.

*Mr. know-it-all-Rusty has informed me that this monster is real & has a name. Ick!

4. True. And those are the days you want to stay very very far away from me.

5. Some people thrive on being in the middle of drama. They sometimes go as far as creating it just so they can bitch about it...these people are annoying as fuck. But also oh so fun to watch; like a drunk girl you know's gonna fall but still don't help cause it'll be a really great laugh.

6. There's a place & time to bust a move. In the public bathroom, on the counter is not one of them.

7. Rusty's started playing D&D again. Needless to say, our apartment is raided by a group of nerds every Saturday night. Yes, pity me. So if any of you guys are up for a video chat on Sat nights, let me know cause I got nothin' else going on.

8. Sometimes all it takes to make me happy is a big ass Dr. Pepper with tiny bits of crunchy ice. It's totally the little things peeps.

9. No one can ever say I'm not open to things cause I'll try just about everything once. Only thing is, I'll find a way to turn it around to suit me.

10. *Spoiler Alert* Game of Thrones - This was possibly my favorite episode of the the season. I love that Jamie & Brienne are getting to know one another. And the truth about why Jamie killed the king...crazy.

Definitely Outside My Comfort Zone

A girl that wears week old jeans, tore up chucks and a plain ol' t-shirt has no business putting on clothes & prancing around in front of a camera. You'd think I'd know this kinda crap right off the bat but I learned the hard way on Saturday while trying to put together this weeks Random Thursday post.

Yeah, you guessed it, it's a fashion type post. Fucking fail on my part for picking it but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

So, I pulled out my favorite outfits and set the camera on a timer. Ugh. There were a few good shots and a hell of a lot of awful one's.

Comical one's for sure. There was one where I thought it'd look cute to sit on my couch, legs crossed, leaning a bit to the side but in the end it just looked like I was a narcoleptic who was caught mid fall into the couch.

Now I'm regretting having deleted those bad boys cause they would've been great for a laugh. Hell, we could've all sat here & made a game out of it like, caption the stupid pose.

That damn fart's bound to come out if I lay in this position.

Good thing this bus stop's here cause it's time for my freakishly awkward leg stretches.

I forget, did they say peeing on an electric tower was good or bad?

So yeah, that'll probably be my last attempt at modeling and I'll just stick to creating fun little collages instead. They're easier... to put together and on my pride.

The site gives you the option of using your Facebook profile and it's photos/your friends photos for the mosaic, although I wouldn't recommend this since I personally don't want other peoples photos mixed in. To each their own, I guess.

Woot woot, it's time for another awesome Random Thursday!

I had such a blast reading all the blogs that linked up last week. Seriously, you guys gave me a bunch of things to shop for next time I'm in the cosmetic section. Saving money? Yeah that's definitely not happening around here.

So I was talking to Rusty about the things I splurge on cause my brain was on strike and sadly everything he listed was food. Wuah wuah wuah...fatty mcfatterson.

Luckily my brain kicked into gear long enough for me to jot them down on a used napkin.

1. Chick-fil-A - These meals are fucking expensive for being "fast food" but it's totally worth it. I dont care if I only have $10 for the whole week, if I get the craving for those chicken tenders I'm getting those damn chicken tenders.
2. Movie (at a theater) - Is it just me or are movie tickets costing more than a meal at KFC? Crazy. There are times though when a girl just needs a date night in a big comfy reclining theater chair, no matter the $14 ticket cost.
3. Dr. Pepper - No, I-do-not want Mr. Pibb or Dr. Skipper! Nuh-uh. I'll spend the extra dough for the real stuff.
4. Coats - I'm a total sucker when it comes to coats. They're never really needed cause you know, I love in sunny ass SoCal & all but I always find an excuse to need just one more.
5. Cable TV (movie channels) - When we first moved & discussed cutting a few expenses, getting rid of Cable TV was never ever an option. Living without it, totally never going to happen.

The best way to start the work day? By watching Netflix's Hemlock Grove biotches. Don't know why I'm so hooked to this damn show, Famke Jenssen's English accent is absolutely horrendous.

Almost makes your ears bleed. Ick.

Regardless, it's still got me by the brain gonads & I'm just hoping the damn thing isn't a giant let down in the end.

You know what is a bit of a let down though? This.

We've all seen his potential to be hot as fuck so why's he fighting it. I mean, no one goes to their stylist & asks for the O'Brian look. No. One.

1. I've been getting awful headaches lately, like at least once a week. First I thought it was PMS, then I thought maybe it was brain cancer, now I'm thinking it's eye strain from being on the computer 10+ hrs a day & the shitty florescent lights in the office.

2. Met up with the uber fabulous Jami, Simone & Shelley this weekend. Had a blast chatting it up in a hip coffee shop in downtown Riverside & creepily bride watching at a hotel. Yeah, we totally know how to party it up.

3. Reese Witherspoon boozed it up & got herself arrested. Wuah wuah wuah.

4. Can someone please come over & finish unpacking for me cause I'm over it. There are about 6-8 boxes still laying around in our bedroom that I dont have the energy to deal with. At this rate, they'll be there til next year.

5. I haven't worked out once since moving into the new place. I mean, the damn gym isnt more than a few buildings away. *drops head in shame*

6. Does anyone else watch Veep? I can't get enough of this show; sheer hilarity.

7. Speaking of phallic objects...the very best part of blogging for me has been finding crazy awesome people that I can talk to about anything & everything. Em & I talk everyday, she's def my grade-school style bff and Amber is my most favorite girl to video chat with; girl is hilarious & a total chatter-box.

8. Washing socks is a pain in the ass but pairing them up afterwards...ugh. Kill me now.

9. I dont why it bothers me so much that Don Draper is still cheating on Meghan; I don't even like her. Also, why aren't they showing more of Joan and what's been going on with her life? We want more big boobied Joan!

10. {SPOILER ALERT} Game of Thrones: The first two episodes were pretty meh but this one, especially this part made me feel all tingly in happy parts. Bitch means business.

I tend to get bored easily when it comes to certain things but one thing I never get tired of is this link-up. I really hope you guys feel the same way. Aw, forget it, I know you do.

So, here's this weeks fun topic:

Makeup has never been a very big thing to me. Granted it makes me look like 6x prettier than usual, covering up all the blemishes while accentuating the good parts but I for sure don't wear it on a daily basis. What can I say, I'm uber lazy.

But when I do wear it, these are always my go to cosmetic items. Always.

1. Makeup Remover/Cleansing Wipes - Possibly the best thing ever invented for lazy people like me. No more falling asleep with your makeup on, just pull one of these suckers out & wipe it all off. Also great to use on a hot sweaty day or after a work out.

2. Liquid Eyeliner - No particular brand, I buy anything that's in my price range at the time. But this stuff always gets used if I'm going out at night cause my little eyes need some help standing out.

3. CoverGirl Pressed Powder - There's most likely a way better pressed powder out there but I've used this stuff since HS & it's never done me wrong. I like that it's so light & has a really fresh smell. Yes, I smell it just because sometimes.

4. Physicians Formula Cover Stick - You know this sucker's pretty hard to find? But it's worth it. I have serious dark under-eye circles but as soon as I swipe & dab this sucker on, they're all gone.

5. L'Oreal Bare Naturale Eyeliner - Em sent this to me in one of our swap packages & I've never ever been more in love with a pencil eyeliner. Goes on super smooth, looks really natural and doesn't come off throughout the day.

6. Covergirl Natureluxe Mascara - Leesh sent me this mascara in a swap package when she heard I was on the lookout for a new mascara that wouldnt clump or make my (already minimal) eyelashes fall out. She did good cause it's definitely my favorite. Super light, leaves my lashes feeling very flexible and gives just enough volume to look natural.

7. E.L.F. Day to Night Eye-Shadow - You can't beat a 2 in 1 eye shadow for a $1. If you're planning on going out after work but don't want to redo your makeup for it, just toss this into your purse.

8. E.L.F. Eyelid Primer - Again, you can't beat $1. This stuff goes on under your powder & eye-shadow so you dont have to risk looking an oily fool later. Stops eye-shadow from cracking or getting oily.

9. E.L.F. Concealer/Highlighter - Remember I said I live with dark circles? This is the best lightweight concealer & highlighter that hides them. Never used a highlighter? Well get on it cause you're missing out! Talk about using the art of light reflection.

10. Sephora Blinged Palette - Almost everything you'll need in one little palette. Em bought this for me in Vegas as a bday gift & I've used it about a hundred times given it comes stocked with the perfect eye-shadow & lip gloss colors for any occasion. Best of all, the cover comes covered in jewels & the lip glosses are hidden in a secret-ish bottom compartment. Love it!

1. Can everyone please grow the fuck up already and stop with all this blogger hatred. This place is supposed to be about love & support, not petty jr high popularity fights.

2. Finally had a chance to catch up on Bates Motel over the weekend and all I can say is A-MAZ-ING. If you're not watching it then you're missing out on some uber fabulous suspense/drama. The mom is fucking nuts, Norman is so screwed up, and the older brother Dylan...well, I wouldn't mind takin' a run at him.

3. Teen Mom's Farrah is literally paying for sex. Damn girl, get a real job already.

4. Monday morning started out on a surprisingly positive note however once I was hit my ninth hour at work it had severely diminished. Wish it would've stuck around longer; makes the week go by faster.

5. I love all my (blog) girls to death but when it comes to real life I prefer to hang with the dudes. They don't judge my potty mouth or my uncool outfits.

6. Sunglasses with my eye prescription in them; I need to get on this asap. Summer is right around the damn corner, time to start prepping.

7. Only Robert Downey Jr. could wear this & not make me find him instantly unattractive. I'll say one thing, dude can really pull off short pants & a neckerchief.

I Still Party Like A Teenager

We had our first official adult get together at the new place this weekend. I say first only because my parents having stayed over a few weeks ago doesn't count since they're not cool.

It was fun, watched The Avengers (which was kinda lame, IMO), the UFC fight and talked a bit. All of the people there were Rusty's coworkers which probably should've been a little awkward for me but it wasn't. Goes to show I get a long most with people who have zero expectations from me.

I've never been much for hosting; most of the time I plop by butt on the couch with my phone in hand & dont move unless something's burning or I get an ass cramp. Rude? Meh, probably. But I'm not a people person and when I do try I only come off as awkward by telling them how I'd just farted where they're now sitting or something like that.

One thing that I definitely learned from this weekend is that our type of adult get together's don't stray far from those I had back in Jr High school as these were the key components to a great night:

Ruffles with sour cream & onion dip
Chicken nuggets
Beer
Girl talk - But not the hair & nails type. This was the dudes & a kick ass lesbian discussing all the hot Hollywood red heads.

Toby Lightman "Holding A Heart" Album Review & Giveaway

New York singer-songwriter Toby Lightman has just released her new EP entitled "Holding A Heart". The album, which I was recently given the opportunity to listen to was literally music to my ears.

Lightman's voice comes close to sounding very Sheryl Crow-esque and seems to really shine through when paired with only a guitar (as seen in the video for her acoustic version of "Thinking About You"). Holding A Heart is labeled a "pop" music album but don't expect it to sound anything like Brit-Brit. No way, it's way better. With a soulful indie-pop feeling and its earthy vibe, you'll for sure have the lyrics to this album memorized within minutes.

Holding A Heart EP may only consist of 8 tracks but it packs as much soul as any full album. My personal favorite song was "Waking Up". It's upbeat tune from beginning to end really did it for me when I was feeling a bit bummed. Talk about inducing an instant smile and making you want to just shake your shoulders to the beat.

From releasing her first two records, Little Things (2004) and Bird on a Wire (2006) on Atlantic Records, to releasing three independent records on her own T Killa Records, Let Go (2008), Know Where I'm From (2010), which featured a limited edition, sold out fan participation book, and releasing the latest EP entitled Holding A Heart (2013), that's had numerous film and tv licenses, Toby Lightman has been very busy.

Since becoming an independent artist, it has seemed as though her career has really blossomed through much success with film and TV placements including "Everyday" on Fox's BONES, "Holding A Heart" on WB's One Tree Hill, Vampire Diaries, 90210 as well as the feature film What's Your Number?. Lightman has also recently recorded a lot of vocals for the hit NBC show Smash. Excited about what lies ahead, Lightman is now busier than ever finalizing her newest record, which is due to release later this year.

I missed last week due to a bitch of headache & feeling overwhelmed by this move, so yeah, sorry about that. Thanks jeebus for my two fabulous co-hosts, Em & Meg for keeping shit together while I bummed it.

But I'm back now and I'm making it my mission to comment on all of your kick ass posts today so Im really hoping they're good. You know how much I hate a snorefest.

So here we go with this weeks topic...

Like so many of our topics, I could probably go on & on about the things I'm addicted to. Yes, I have a very addictive personality, especially when it comes to TV. Still can't believe I only listed one show on this mother. I must be tired.

1. My couch - This thing is SO comfortable that my ass is almost permanently attached to it on my days off. What else does a girl need other than a comfy couch, big tv & kitchen a few feet away, a warm blanket and a laptop? Yeah, nothin.

2. Organizing/decorating our apartment - Ive never been much of a cleaner/decorator but this place has really pulled the clean freak out of me. That's a good thing, right? I'm planning on hitting up World Market and Ross for stuff to fill in all the blank spaces on the walls. Definitely on the look out for some awesome throw pillows. Ugh...I can't believe I just said that.

3. Game of Thrones - Hot damn, this show is good. I'm so intrigued by all the characters & what they're going through. Hopefully a sword will be going through Geoffrey's throat soon; cant stand that little prick.

4. Cinnamon Raisin Bagels - A-maz-ing. For the last week I've had at least one (if not two) of these suckers a day. The best way to eat them, IMO, is with butter spread & a pinch of sugar on top of it. Seriously, try it.

5. B&BW Strawberry Foaming Soap - I'm not much for smelly hand soaps, unless they're lemon scented, but this sucker smells delicious and is anti-bacterial. Thanks for sending it my way Katie!

6. Wendy's Chocolate Frosty - Just look at that deliciousness. *drool* That is all.

7. Peeling nail polish off - Doesn't matter if I just got a manicure the day before, once that nail polish chips I can't help but peel it all off. Yeah, I guess it'd be easier to grab the nail polish remover but where the hell's the fun in that?

8. Ketchup - What can I say, it instantly makes things better; eggs, meatloaf, french fries, Ruffles.

It's Gun Safety; Take That Shit Seriously

I read a news story this morning about a 4 yr old kid that got a hold of a family members rifle and accidentally shot (and killed) his 6 yr old friend.

Tragic.

Kid was practically a baby, his whole life ahead of him. Sad stuff. Same goes for the little one that got a hold of the gun and now has to live his entire life knowing he killed his friend.

According to the news story authorities are in the process of figuring out if charges are going to be filed and who the charges should be filed against.

In my opinion, it's the gun owner is the one who should be held responsible. Regardless of whether or not the gun owner physically pulled the trigger, they are responsible for that child getting their hands on that loaded firearm.

Rusty & I own firearms (yep, more than one) and have them in the house when people/kids come over but they're always in a secure location, unloaded and with cable locks through them. Might seem like a bit much but when you buy one you have to know that a huge responsibility to be safe comes with it.

Seriously, for fucks sake, it's not hard to lock them away, especially when you're having people over; gun safe's are as cheap as $80 and it takes like a total of 2 minutes to be responsible and slip that $5 trigger lock on and leave the magazine out.

Irresponsible morons like this give all gun owners a bad rap and it pisses me off. It's not a child's responsibility to know gun safety, it's the yours.

Come on people, use your damn brain.

note: I'm aware any lock can be broken & someone can still get their hands on a firearm if they really wanted to but the point of all this locking/keeping it unloaded/safety stuff is to make it a little harder for anyone to do so.

9. Ive been a shitty blogger the last few weeks; no reading, commenting, or real writing. The blame totally goes to the new apartment cause it's a total time suck. How is it possible for it to take so damn long to decorate and put together a 790 sq ft place?! Geez.

8. Mad Men: Dont really think it was necessary for us to have 2 full hours of nothing. Honestly, I learned nothing from that episode other than Meghan's now a p/t actress & Don's still sticking his dong in anything with a vag. I just never would've taken Velma as a harlot.

7. My new closet's half the size my old one was and I'm one sad panda because of it.

6. Weekly dinner meal planning, do you guys do it? I've been giving this some thought as I never know what to make for dinner and always end up eating cereal, ala Jerry Seinfeld.

5. Finally watched the first episode of the new season of Game of Thrones last night. Loved it! Never been much for talky type tv shows but this one's got me hooked. Now if someone could just manage to stick a sword through Joffrey's throat, that'd be great.

Beth Hart "Bang Bang Boom Boom" Album Review & Giveaway

Beth Hart and her amazing vocals are at it again.

Her newest album, Bang Bang Boom Boom has the classic blues feel and kick ass rock & roll beats. Having been compared to a blend of Etta James and Janis Joplin, Hart doesn't disappoint in belting out the lyrics and making them stand apart from her fantastic piano playing.

Much of Bang Bang Boom Boom is about love and all the ups and downs that come with it. In "Baddest Blues", Hart sings about the benefits of finding a truly good man, while in "Swing My Thing Back Around" she's pretty much saying she's had enough and is now doing things her way.

Overall, this album was very enjoyable with its mix of rock, jazz, pop and blues but left me wanting more variety.

Hart wrote and co-wrote all of the songs on Bang Bang Boom Boom, the album was produced by Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith, Led Zepplin, Joe Bonamassa) and recorded with some of the finest musicians.

My Life's Full Of Awkward...

I'm addicted to being Awkward.

There's definite shame behind my enjoying this show because

I'm not 17.
It's on MTV.
I felt just as fucking awkward in H.S. (and still do some days)
I'm almost positive I'm now, at 30, as uncool as Valerie "the Counselor"

While we're on the subject of awkward, I stopped by the local donut shop this morning to get a giant delicious donut (which it was) but once I took a bite out of the sucker, this happened:
