LiLi is officially abandoned

	It's been a great adventure

(texte en français disponible en dessous)

I'm sorry to let you know that I decided to abandon LinuxLive USB Creator project. LiLi was a great project for me, I spent so many hours trying to make it one of the easiest software to use to create a Live USB. Plus, I think the portable virtualization embedded inside was quite a unique feature (and probably still is).

I would have never imagined that someday LiLi would be used by so many people ! It has been used and downloaded by millions of people around the world.

It took me quite a long time to decide that I won't provide new updates. Some of the reasons for this are :

my life changed quite a bit a few years ago (I'm a dad now :-) ) so it's very hard to have enough spare time

updating LiLi for each new Linux was taking too much time and it was a never-ending task

many distributions are changing things every other versions and it was hard to keep up

updating the website to new CMS version is a nightmare because of some components used for translations and some other things

answering all emails was impossible for a single man

LiLi is using a framework that is almost abandoned too (AutoIT)

The download page will still be available for some time as some people are still using it successfully.

I'm closing the contact page (i'm not answering anyway) and the donate page (it was not working for quite a long time now, anyway it's not fair to receive donations for an abandoned project).

The project source code is still available if someone want to take back this project but I found no one ready to do that so far.

If you need to contact me to talk about the project please use this email : liliwasfun ( @ / at sign ) linuxliveusb.com

I wont answer support / help requests / marketing so don't even bother.

I thank you all for using LiLi and I hope that one day it helped you on your journey to discover Linux or any other tech journey :-).

One last piece advice before I go : Never underestimate the number of people you can help with your even a small piece of software. YOU CAN DO A DIFFERENCE TOO.

Hope to see you soon for some new adventures.

Thibaut.

======================== FRENCH ======================

Thibaut.
