I am please to announce the availability of LiLi 2.8.21 with support for the latest (and greatest ?) Ubuntu 13.04 a.k.a "Raring Ringtail".

As usual, this support is officially for non-64 bits variants but I tested the x64 and it's working too.

I had to change some portions of code in LiLi so you have to download it again if you want it to work.

Some users also reported some issues with Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS x64. This bug has been solved.

This version of LiLi is now using a more comprehensive way to create boot configuration so it's even more likely to work with non officially supported variants :-D

New distributions supported in LiLi 2.8.21 are :

Donations

The "donate" link has been modified to let generous users choose between Paypal and Bitcoin donations.

So the news here is that you can now send Bitcoin donations to LiLi's project :-D

You don't know what Bitcoin is ? In a few words : it's an open-source virtual currency. You can read more on this subject on Bitcoin official's website : http://bitcoin.org/

I looked for a way to set up a Bitcoin account online easily and found http://coinbase.org. They offer great services and website is really straightforward so I recommend it.

I also updated the donate link inside LiLi (in the options menu).

Global mirror update

I discovered that some of SourceForge mirrors are no longer in use. A lot of Linux Distributions are using SourceForge as a way to release their ISOs files. I have updated all the available Linux in the support list to use the new mirrors.

The three new mirrors are located in Germany, Taïwan and Kazakhstan. So, hopefully you should get faster ISO downloads if you are living near these countries.

Seventeenth update for LiLi 2.8

Plus VirtualBox pack 4.2.2 !

This is a bug update : 25 new Linux distributions and an up to date Portable VirtualBox package.

It took me almost the entire week-end to prepare it.

Debian Live has been updated to latest 6.0.5 and obviously I also added every variants of Ubuntu 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal".

A new Linux is also available : GeexBox 3.0.

One thing you should know about LiLi is that I'm testing 99% of new ISOs before adding them to the official support list.

The remaining 1% are frequently updated distributions with very few modifications such as Gparted Live, Clonezilla, Parted Magic ...

Portable-VirtualBox pack has been updated to the latest 4.2.2 version of VirtualBox. Please note that some translations are missing in VirtualBox 4.2.

If you have Virtualbox installed on your computer, try to update it before launching Portable-VirtualBox launcher to avoid compatibility issues. I tried VirtualBox 4.1.X in conjunction with Portable-VirtualBox 4.2.2 without any issues.

About the website, you are more and more everydays to come and try LinuxLive. LiLi's website is currently receiving almost half a million visits per month ! I would like to thank everyone for sharing LiLi :-D

This is quite a big number for such a modest project with only one man behind the scene. Finding time to update LiLi is harder and harder everyday so please don't be mad at me for being slow to update LiLi and to make it evolve. It's even harder considering I have to update it almost every month and I still have to find more time to prepare next big versions.

For those of you who would like to have the brand new version of VirtualBox (4.2) be aware that you can have it right now !

Just install it and the portable virtualbox launcher of LiLi will use this version instead of the portable one. I tried and it seems to work fine.

It's harder and harder to find enough spare time to update LiLi but I'm doing my best. Thanks for your support (email, tweets, donations, clicks on ads ...) I always feel better after a nice tweet :-D

It took me a full day of work for this huge update.

I'm adding 32 new linux distributions for an impressive total of 360 different distributions supported !!

Among which, the long awaited Ubuntu 12.04 "Precise Pangolin" Long Term Support, latest Linux Mint Debian and a lot of new ones.

I also have some bad news about Portable VirtualBox. The original project is almost abandoned, the latest launcher for VirtualBox 4.1.X is very unstable. This is why I decided not to include it for the moment.

I may try to code my own Portable VirtualBox launcher but I currently don't have enough time. Please contact me if you think you could help (AutoIT skills or VirtualBox structure understanding).
