If so, how do you choose what to fight for?

I went shopping to the supermarket Asda today. I had a list so I wouldn’t forget anything:

1 H&K 9mm submachine gun - to deal with a noisy neighbour
10 grams of cocaine - to relieve the stress caused by said noisy neighbour
2 Thai hookers - well, a man has his needs
And a bottle of water - thirsty work all that killing, flying, and whoring!

Would you believe it, the only thing they had was bottled water!

It seems the government, in its omniscience, has decided that good people shouldn’t be allowed automatic weapons, recreational drugs, or prostitutes!

London’s public transport system collapsed.
6000 schools around the country closed.
Businesses lost millions through lost trade and employee absence.

Deep snow. Depressing snow. Dangerous snow.

The worst snow for two decades. It cast fear, misery, and danger over the entire nation.

For my first, albeit belated, post of 2009, I’m going up-beat.

Most of us are engulfed by gloomy weather, gloomy finances, and gloomy jobs, so here’s a gallery that will banish those worries by bestowing one of life’s greatest gifts…

(In case you haven’t guessed, just check what you’re doing while you’re looking at these photos - yep, smiling of course!)

Now just let me say, these are all beautiful animals but they aren’t necessarily the best animal photos you’ll ever see - for that try National Geographic or something - but, as far as I’m aware, these are all public domain.

The Worst Car Crash of All Time

Panic. Lives ruined. Wreckage everywhere. And no insurance to cover the cost… The US automobile industry is a car crash of global proportions. But who, or what, is going to be the ultimate loser?

I’ve read two interesting articles recently:

One said the US government is going to give General Motors, Chrysler, and possibly Ford $14 billion in a rescue deal to save the ailing US car industry.
The other story said General Motors, Chrysler, and Ford have all stated they don’t want to build eco-friendly cars because there’s no US market for them.

Now, it’s common knowledge that the car makers are begging for billions. But how about them not wanting to build and sell eco-friendly cars in the US? Have they really said that? (more…)

Horrific news hit Britain last week. So horrific the repercussions will reverberate the length and breadth of the nation for years to come.

So just how bad was this bad news?

More doom-laden than the meltdown of the global economy.
More harrowing than 24,000 Third World children dying every single day.
More soul-destroying than soaring extinction rates, global warming, poverty levels…

How better to show someone you love them than through giving? Only blowing every last penny it’s taken you months to earn, and then maxxing out your plastic on top of that, truly shows someone how much you care, doesn’t it?

Be it a birthday, anniversary, or Christmas, just give, give, give, give, GIVE! They’ll love you for it and know you love them.

So why do some gifts make people’s mouths smile like you’ve just given them a Ferrari while their eyes smile like you’ve just given them herpes? (more…)

Some things are just so wrong any halfwit can see it. So why is finding true justice so difficult?

But maybe you don’t think it is. Maybe you think:

the law always sees justice is served
the law always knows who the true ‘villains’ are
the law always punishes the guilty and protects the innocent, i.e. YOU

Heroes - Do We Need Them?

Life Coaches, Gurus, Mentors, Role Models… we all need someone to inspire us, to help us not just reach our goals but find the right ones to aim for.

Be it a book, a teacher, a movie, a parent there’s always some catalyst that impacts on us so much it sends our lives in a new direction.

So, today, I’d like to introduce you to someone who impacted on me. A mentor, if you will.

Why?

Because by confronting fears or embracing new experiences, we focus our lives and attain goals that might otherwise have remained merely dreams. By sharing, I hope to inspire.
