Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream, Combination to Oil Skin Review

By now I'm sure most of us have tried bb creams, if not at least heard of them. I recently received a free sample from bzzagnt to try the Garnier BB Cream. I honestly had low expectations from this product, but boy was I wrong!

The packaging is basic, nothing fancy but that's ok. One minor problem is if this is left upside down and you go and open it, it's going to drip out. This formula is very thin and runny.

Here's a swatch of the shade I have in Light/Medium. This color is a great match for me at the moment but I'm not sure how well it's going to work in the summer when I have a bit more color. The great thing though is this comes in different shades so I can pick up a darker color if I need to.

This product is amazing! It provides great coverage and isn't cakey. I have been using Urban Decay Naked Skin for months....it was my hg foundation but since I've had the Garnier BB Cream I haven't touched my Naked Skin! It lasts all day and doesn't fade away or oxidize.

It contains an SPF 20 which is great. It claims to reduce shine, even out skin tone, minimize your pores and hydrate your skin and I have to say it definitely does all of those for me. I have very oil skin and find I don't get very shiny throughout the day but I do set with powder. I have some discoloration on my chin and redness on my cheeks and it covers that up great. This leaves a nice satin finish to the skin. I also haven't had any breakouts whatsoever.

The Garnier BB Cream comes in three colors, light/medium, medium/deep, and deep.

I definitely recommend you check out the Garnier BB Cream because it's aaaaahhhhhmaaaazing!! I will be repurchasing this for sure!

Khroma Beauty Joystick Lip Lacquer Review and Swatches!

Like most people I love watching the Kardhasians reality shows. I never really watched but a couple years ago I caught a episode and was hooked! Lol. Whether the show is real, fake, slightly real, or scripted, it's entertaining, but that's my opinion.

One thing we can't argue on is that they always look gorgeous! Their makeup is always stunning! That's one of the large reasons why I watch. I like seeing their makeup looks and nails. On one of the most recent episodes Kourtney was applying a bright bold fuchsia pink lipstick that looked gorgeous! I paused and rewound my tv a few times to try and get a look at what it was. I wasn't familar with what the packaging looked like, but I instantly remembered they have their own makeup line. A quick google search and sure enough it was from their line....of course it had to be their line...a plug and more $$$ for them! Haha!

Well I was sold on that color instantly! I placed an order for it on Ulta.com and also picked up a couple other colors.

I ended up ordering Rose Parade, Retro Red, and of course Shocking Pink which Kourtney was applying.

I had never used anything from their line so I was excited to try these out. First off the packaging is plastic, simple, nothing fancy or special but that's ok. They twist up, so no need for sharpening.

These are a matte formula and don't exactly glide across your lips smoothly unless you have prepped them with lip balm first. When I get ready and am doing my makeup I always prep with lip balm and liner first so for me that's ok because I make it work.

They do get drying over time but with that being said they are very long lasting. You can eat and drink and these will last. They do transfer but never completely fade away. You can always apply a little gloss or lip balm on top to make them more moisturizing.

LipGlossGossip tip ~ When I have a lipstick that tends to be drying I keep a Revlon Lip Butter or Loreal Color Balm in a similar color to what I'm wearing in my makeup bag that way if I want to add a little more moisture to my lips or just pump up/revive the color a bit I can throw some on and my lips are instantly hydrated without having to apply actual "lipstick" again.

How gorgeous are these colors!!! I'm in love! Rose Parade is a true blue based red. Retro Red is not very red, it's more of a orange shade but I love it. Shocking Pink is everything I expected it to be, a beautiful bright bold fuchsia!

For a bold lipstick lover like myself these are a definite must have! If you like super hydrated lipstick then these might not be for you, but like I said a little lip balm on top and problem solved. :)

Guerlain ~ Rouge de Guerlain Jewel Lipstick Compact in Genna 28 and Rouge G de Guerlain L'Extrait M25 Colere and M71 Gourmandise Review and Swatches

I recently lost my mind and ordered three $50 lipsticks from Sephora. I know that's ridiculously expensive for a lipstick but I had a little birthday money so I figured why not splurge on something good! :D

The first thing I chose was the Rouge de Guerlain Jewel Lipstick Compact in Genna 28. As you can see the packaging has a mirror finish and is engraved with 'Guerlain' which makes it look really high end. The downside of it being so shiny is all the fingerprint marks! It's impossible to keep it from smudges.

Now this is where we get fancy! When you pull the lipstick out it automatically flips out a double mirror, one of which is magnified. The whole lipstick is very heavy. It's the heaviest lipstick I own, which I expect since it was $50!

Here is the gorgeous color in Genna 28! It's a beautiful bright warm red. This lipstick is so hydrating. It glides on the lips smoothly and gives a full color shiny finish. Because it's so moisturizing it isn't the longest lasing lipstick. Without eating it will last about 4 hours. If you eat or drink it will transfer and fade.

Next I ordered two Rouge G de Guerlain L'Extrait in M25 Colere and M71 Gourmandise.

These have similar packaging with the mirror. They are a little bit harder to open as you have to pull them out a tad, then twist open. In the photo above this one you can see it comes with a sticker attached to the package with opening instructions.

Although these have brush tip applicators they are not glosses, they are opaque liquid lipsticks. When you first apply them they are moisturizing, but after a few minutes they set into a satin/matte lipstick finish. These are definitely more long wearing. They lasted about six hours on me and even after eating and drinking it didn't completely fade. It left a full color stained lip, which is great!

Genna 28, M25 Colere, and M71 Gourmandise

These colors are so gorgeous! My favorite is probably Colere. It's the perfect bright cool toned red. I was most looking forward to Gourmandise and while the swatch looks like a bright pink it comes across on my lips as a muted rose color. It's a pretty color, just not what I was expecting.

Overall these were definitely a splurge, but very well worth the money. The packaging and colors are beautiful. I recommend you check these out if you feel like buying something special and luxurious for yourself!

Bite Beauty Corvina High Pigment Matte Lip Pencil Review and Swatches

On a recent Sephora trip I went a little crazy and picked up a few lipsticks... ok ahem...six! Three of the lipsticks I got were from Bite Beauty. They make amazing lipsticks so I couldn't pick just one! If your not familiar with Bite Beauty their products are so pure and made with food grade ingredients that you can eat them! Obviously we're not gonna be like wow I'm hungry let me munch on this lipstick, but the fact that it's on our lips for an extended period of time and we're ingesting...well that just makes it ok because there are no harmful ingredients in it.

They had several new shades out that I just couldn't pass up! One of which was this beauty here in Corvina!

Corvina is a bright coral pink lipstick pencil. It is a matte formula but it is not drying at all. I thought this bright shade in the matte formula would pull all the dry spots out on my lips and emphasize them but I didn't have that problem. It didn't feel drying on my lips at all, even over time my lips still felt hydrated.

This is also a twist up pencil so no need for sharpening. That's always a plus in my book!

This was very long-wearing, so much so that it lasted all day through food and drinks. It had faded a bit but my lips still had full color.

How gorgeous is this color! It's perfect for Spring and Summer. It's so bright and cheerful. I imagine I'll be wearing Corvina a lot this season!

I'm very impressed with these High Pigment Matte Lip Pencils and will definitely purchase more!

MAC Fashion Sets Lipsticks Review and Swatches!

I haven't purchased MAC in a really long time. For the past three years or so I haven't really been into MAC like I was say 5 years ago. Back then I used to go out and purchase an entire collection! I was that bad! Lol. Right before I started my blog was when I started to get into other makeup lines, but one thing I try to keep up on with MAC is their lipsticks, because we can deny that MAC makes some gorgeous lipsticks!

I was really looking forward to the Fashion Sets lipsticks because all of the colors are bright and bold which is right up my alley. You all know I love a bright lip!

All of these are a matte formula and are highly opaque. They apply smoothly but can be drying overtime because of the matte formulation, but this also makes them long-wearing.

These colors are gorgeous and so prefect for Spring. Ablaze is surprisingly my favorite from the collection. I would have thought it would have been one of the pinks but it's such a perfect coral! Silly is a pretty bubblegum pink. Embrace Me is of course a beautiful fuchsia pink. Heroine looks a tad bit dark on me so I've worn it with Silly as an ombre lip look and it looks great. I really love Heroine but I have to make it work. I can't just throw it on because it just looks so dark on my pale skin, but I still love the purple tone.

If you can get your hands on these definitely do. I know they are selling out everywhere, but call all your local MAC stores and counters to see if they have any in-stock or will be getting any more shipments in. I know some stores will let you pay over the phone and ship an item to you, which I have done in the past ;) lol.

Stila Color Balm Lipstick in Betsey swatch and FOTD! Plus recent purchases and Randomness!

If you keep up with me on Instagram then you've seen all of this stuff already, but I haven't had time to share it on here. I like how instagram is kind of like blogging. It's just a lot easier for me to post things on there quickly than finding the time to sit in front of the computer and upload pictures, but I do what I can when I find the time. Both of my babies are napping, as is my husband so I am here updating the blog uninterrupted and I love it! Lol

These are just some things I picked up recently.

I had a $10 birthday coupon to use at Ulta so I recently went by and picked up one of the new Stila Color Balm lipsticks in Betsey as well as the Tarte Cosmetics Prime, Shine, and Define kit. I've used the Tarte Primer before and love it but haven't tried the BB Illuminating Moisturizer or Mascara.

The Color Balm Lipstick has a nice sleek silver packaging. I love how stila is pressed into the cap, it gives it a pretty look.

This is my first Color Balm lipstick but definitely not my last. First of all the color payoff is amazing! The texture is so smooth and glides on your lips. It's very hydrating as well. These are different than a lot of the other "balm" lipsticks on the market as these have full color payoff which I love and is right up my alley.

I was very surprised as to how long this wore. I wore it for about 6 hours total and it stayed on through dinner as well. We went out to eat at BJ's and it lasted through pasta and two drinks! Impressed!

This was my look for the day on Easter. I did a light pastel green wash on the lid, with a teal shade on the outer corner and my Stila Color Balm Lipstick in Betsey. All eyeshadows and blush are from the Senna Cosmetics pastel envelope.

Lastly just wanted to share some other things I got recently.

Sedona Lace recently had a sale and I had never used their brushes before and you know I'm a total brush junkie so I had to place an order. I ordered the Vortex Brush Set, so I'll do a full review after I have had more time to play and experiment different uses for them.

IMAN Skin Tone Evener BB Creme Review

I recently had the opportunity to try the new IMAN Skin Tone Evener BB Cream. I was unsure of what color to choose but I ended up picking the Sand Light.

As far as the packaging it comes in a nice squeeze tube bottle. It's simple so I like it.

This is about a pea size amount.

Completely blended in. It does give a bit of a glow to your skin.

IMAN Skin Tone Evener BB Cream contains an SPF 15 and is suppose to hydrate your skin and even out your complexion. It contains botanical extracts and multivitamins. It comes in 6 different shades.

I've been using this for about a week already. When I used it the first time I intended to use it on it's own but I quickly realized that this was nowhere near enough coverage for me. I have used asian bb creams and have had no insecurities wearing solely those on they're own. The IMAN BB Creme is very sheer. It was too sheer for my liking so I ended up adding a little foundation to cover up the redness on my cheeks and discoloration on my chin. With that being said over the past week I have still been using it as my moisturizer. I do love that it contains an SPF and all the antioxidants which are great for your skin. I have had no breakouts from this so that's great.

The color in sand light that I chose was a good match. I wear shade 4 in Urban Decay Naked Skin and NC25 to 30 in MAC for reference.

Overall I wouldn't recommend this if your looking for something with any coverage as this is so sheer, but if you want something to moisturize and hydrate your face with that has an SPF then check it out.

I was super bummed about not having an event to go to in June because I look forward to it every year! Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon Kit Review, Swatches and FOTD

Fuchsia Flirt is a bright bubble gum pink and really pretty for Spring. Rose Romance is a nude pink, which surprisingly I like. Petal Passion is clear, I swatched it anyways but you can't see it. Coral Crush is a bright coral/orange and is going to be gorgeous for Summer! Apricot Adore is exactly as it's named a really pretty soft apricot orange shade, this one will also be great in Summer. Barely Bitten was my least favorite of the bunch, it's a peachy nude and a pretty color just not my cup of tea.

As for the formula these are very nice and creamy. They glide on the lips nicely and are very moisturizing as they apply. After a few hours of wear they dry out a bit. They are pretty long lasting. I wore Fuchsia Flirt to the movies yesterday had popcorn and a drink, got out and checked myself in the mirror and had no fading. I got about 6 hours of wear total.

They also have a soft minty scent which I enjoy.

One of the things I loved is that these are twist up so no need for sharpening!

This set is only $25 for 6 lipstick crayons which I thought was a great deal.

Julep Cupids Mystery Box Swatches! Lynn, Rose, Niecy, & Molly!

I just received my Cupids Mystery Box from Julep and I'm very happy with the colors I got!

If your not familiar with Julep Mystery Boxes they are different than the monthly Maven boxes as you have to go and put the order in for a box yourself and you don't know which colors or products you'll be receiving. I think this is a fun idea except occasionally you can get a color you already have, which has happened to me. With this box I got all new colors that I didn't already have. Yay!

First of all I love how they package the boxes! It's so cute!

In my box I received a coupon for any nail polish of my choice for free on julep.com, a Julep Lip Vernis in Camellia, and four nail colors in Lynn, Rose, Niecy, and Molly. I was super happy to get Rose cuz it's been on my list!

So the idea with this box was obviously Valentine's Day themed and I'm very happy with the nail polishes I got. Aren't they gorgeous! None of these swatches have a top coat! The lip gloss in Camellia is soooo not my kind of color so I won't be swatching it. I'll probably include it in a giveaway. :)

I've already been browsing the website to choose my free color, but I'm still undecided. It's going to take some time! Lol.

All the colors I got were very traditional Valentine's Day colors, but I'm happy! :)

OCC Lip Tar Swatches in Traffic and Butch!

I know, I know, your thinking more lip tars, that's all you've been posting! But what can I say I'm addicted to them! I needed these for mixing! Lol.

I have been trying to get my hands on Belladonna lip tar which has been discontinued and have had no luck! I decided I can try and mix my own colors to recreate that color. I found on the OCC facebook page where they said you can mix a bit of RX and Hoochie to get a similar color to Belladonna. Well every time I try and do that it comes out too blue, even using the tiniest amount! So I decided I needed to get Butch since it's a much lighter shade of blue I figured it would be easier to work with to get the shade I was trying to create. I also added Traffic to my order because why not?! :p

If your not familiar with Belladonna it is a Violet/purple shade. I think I did I pretty good job recreating the color. I mixed Butch, Narcissus, Pretty Boy, and the tiniest bit of Hoochie to get this color. I'm so loving violet lips right now! The weather has been so gorgeous I'm just ready for Spring and pastels already! That's California living for you though! :)

Stila Valentine's Day Cheek Palette 2013

Was just browsing Nordstrom and came across the new Stila Valentine's Day Cheek Palette and how cute does it look! It's only $14 with free shipping so I might order it. The one they did 2 years ago was my favorite. Last years was not so great, kinda chalky and not nicely pigmented. I hope I like this one! :)

Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush Review!

My mail box has been flooding with all the new Spring Collections coming out and one thing that stood out was Too Faced new Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush. I love this time of year because we see so many cute Valentine's Day/heart themed products which I love! This one takes the cake!

Ok let's just get straight to the packaging! It is too cute! This is the main reason I bought it! Yes I am a total sucker for packaging! I love the soft pink box with gold print, it just feels so girly. And it's heart shaped! Could it be any cuter!.

Why yes it can! Lol. When you pull the lid off you get three stripes of blush color in the box. It starts with a shimmery pink, then a matte coral, then a shimmery peach.

The pink portion is definitely large enough to use that shade on it's own, as is the outer shimmery peach color. It might be difficult to pick up the center coral color on its own. Of course you can just swirl it all together for a gorgeous glow, which is how I used it.

The colors are very soft and sheer, but can be built up, although this does have shimmer in it so adding too much might be overkill. I have a light/medium skin tone and this works for me as a blush, I personally like my blushes very sheer since I wear such bold lips daily I need blush that is toned down. If you are a deeper skin tone you can definitely use this as a highlight.

While I love this blush and will get a lot of use out of it, the color itself is nothing I haven't seen before. It looks like every other peachy/coral blush. If you don't have anything similar to this definitely pick it up because it is a gorgeous color, if not just get it for the cute factor!

As for wear, I have had this on for about 7 hours already and it's still intact, but I do use Model in a Bottle so that helps my makeup last all day.

Also this blush is huge! It will last you forever! You get 5.5 grams of product.

OCC Makeup Lip Tar Swatches ~ Grandma, Divine, Narcissus, and Rx!

It's been such a long time since I last blogged. I guess I've just been too busy with life...kids and what not. I ordered these back in December with my Sephora VIB gift card, and I had a VIB 10% off coupon, plus I had two $5 Sephora gift cards on my Wrapp app to use so I got a great deal on these! I only paid $31 for $64 worth of lip tars, I was so proud of myself! Lol!

Grandma, Divine, Narcissus, and Rx

Grandma was a lot brighter than I expected but it's a gorgeous color. It's very similar to Radiate but a more toned down version.

I picked up Divine and Narcissus because I wanted to get some lighter shades in my collection. I wasn't sure how I was going to like these because I don't usually wear lip colors this light, but I was very pleasantly surprised with them. They are so pretty and really great everyday colors. These are great for mixing as well.

Now I know why blue, but Rx is such a fun color! It looks really cool on it's own but it's really fun for mixing with other lip tars. I just had to have it! I instagramed myself wearing it so you can look that up if you want to see it. :)

I've been really happy with these new additions to my lip tar collection. I honestly can't get enough lip tars! They are literally the best lip product out there. A tiny bit goes a long way. They can get a bit drying but a little lip balm solves that problem instantly. They are also very long lasting. When I wear my lip tars I can eat and drink and my lips are still intact!

Oh yeah and they are 100% Vegan and cruelty free! Usually when I wear any other lipstick I totally avoid kissing my baby because he has very sensitive skin, but when I have my lip tar on I don't mind at all because I know there are no harmful ingredients in them. His skin has never acted up from my lip tar kisses! Yay! :)

If your going to IMATS this weekend definitely check them out and pick some up! Sadly I wont be there this year! The whole date change doesn't work for me as we have other things going on. I hope they change it back to June next year! :)

Tarte Smolder Eyes Set 2012!

I bought the Tarte Smolder Eyes set from last year and loved it, so when I saw a new set of colors this year I was all over it! I ordered mine from QVC, which they still have in-stock btw!

First of all I love the holiday packaging! I'm a sucker for anything that looks pretty or cute!

Last years holiday Smolder Eyes set came with 6 chunky Smolder Eyes, but this year it came with 5 and one Skinny Smolder Eyes, which is a standard eyeliner size.

Ash Violet, Rain Forest Black, Champagne, Gunmetal, Gold, and Onyx.

Ok can we talk about how gorgeous these colors are?!?! I have to say this set is definitely more wearable than last years. The shades themselves are more neutral and definitely less frosty/sparkly. I'm in love with all of them!

Ash Violet is such a gorgeous grayed purple.

Rainforest Black is my favorite! I mainly ordered this set for this color! I love any shade of green on brown eyes and this one is just stunning! Gorgeous forest green! You can wear this as a liner, all over the lid, or smudged on the lower lash line....AwwwMazing!

Champagne is a great everyday lid color. You can wear it on it's own or as a base for other shadows. You can also use it to highlight your inner corners. Great multipurpose color.

Gunmetal is a pretty taupe/grey. This is great for a classic smokey eye! Love it!

Gold is another great neutral that you can wear on the lid, on it's own, or as a base for other colors.

Onyx skinny Smolder eyes is one of the best black pencil eyeliners I've used in awhile! It is so dark and glides on like butter! It's just perfect!

As for the lasting ability, these will not budge!! I swatched these and could not remove them! I rubbed my hand hard and they did not smear one bit! I even showed my husband and he was impressed. You have a few seconds of smudge time when you apply, but once it sets, it's going to be there till you remove it with eye makeup remover.

I definitely recommend you check this set out! It would be a great Christmas gift or stocking stuffer. It's a must have in my book!

Butter London Disco Biscuit Nail of the Day!

I am on such a Butter London kick right now. When Ulta had their Cyber Monday deal I ordered some Butter London nail lacquers as part of their sale.

Disco Biscuit was high on my list so I couldn't wait to wear it. As you can see in the first swatch it is pretty sheer. This was two coats but it's still see through. I should have done one more coat but I was in a hurry. :)

It is still a gorgeous color though. I wouldn't call it a glitter nail polish, it's more of an intense/high shimmer. I love the violet shimmer in it! It's so pretty! Love!

I have already had it on for 4 days and have no chips, just some wear at the tips.

I definitely recommend you check out the Butter London nail lacquers!

New OCC Lip Tars! Haul!

I'm sure many of you know my love for OCC lip tars, as I have many posts on them already, but I recently ordered a few on Cyber Monday and picked up a few from my Sephora.

On Cyber Monday I ordered Black Dahlia, Lydia, Yaoi, and I got Triptych for free which is the whole reason why I ordered! I plan on mixing this with everything! The new Metallurgy collection is amazing! I NEED them all!

So onto my swatches. The first four swatched are the ones I picked up from Sephora.

I love love love these! I'm addicted to OCC Lip Tars! I honestly feel like I need no other lip product but these. If my entire MAC lipstick collection disappeared I would be ok as long as I had my lip tars. Yes they are that good!

Hush and Memento are more nude colors which I don't wear alone but they are great for mixing. Stalker and NSFW are both beautiful reds but I wouldn't say you need them both. Black Dahlia can be built up and deepened by adding more, but it can give you the most gorgeous stained lip look! Lydia is a nice everyday color, but I plan on using this and Triptych for mixing. Yaoi what can I say, bright metalic pink, I love it! I know I've said this before but one of the big reasons I love lip tars is the ability to mix shades and create new ones. It is so easy to do as well. They are opaque, long lasting and have a nice minty scent.

These new additions brings my lip tar collection to 20! I just ordered 4 more with my Sephora VIB $20 gift card though, so when they come I'll have 24! No I'm not ashamed! Lol

I will say though that at $16 each that can be pricey for some but a little product goes a long way! Use a pin size amount and work from there. You definitely need a lip brush. My fav is the Royal & Langnickel BC600 lip brush.

I can not recommend these enough! They are the best!

If you go to IMATS stock up then because they usually sell them for $10 each, online they are $16.

Revlon Midnight Sparkle Nail of the Day ~ Holiday Collection

I went in to Rite Aid about a week ago and was checking out the new collections and I saw a Revlon Holiday Collection display. The only things that jumped out at me were the gorgeous glittery nail polishes! I picked up three, one of which was Midnight Sparkle!

I was so excited to wear this. I have nothing like this in my collection so it was a great addition! This color is so stunning! Blue glitter in an opaque navy base! This was opaque in one coat but I did two to even out the glitter. The glitter makes it a bit thick but it wasn't too difficult to work with. I just took this off today and like all glitters it was a pain to remove, but it's worth it. Lol.
