OCC Lip Tars, Queen, Pretty Boy, & Strumpet ~ Review & Swatches!

Last month OCC was holding a 20% off sale, so I figured it would be a great time to place an order for some new Lip Tars!

The colors I got from L to R are Queen, Pretty Boy, and Strumpet. I first tried OCC Lip Tars at IMATS 2 years ago and I have been in love with them ever since!

The colors are highly pigmented. They are opaque and apply easily with the right lip brush.

If you are new to Lip Tars, do not apply these straight to your lips from the tube, it will be way too much product. All you need is a pin drop for your lips! You definitely need a lip brush for application. My personal favorite is the Royal & Langnickel BC600 Silk Lip Brush . I have said this before but I must say it again, it's the best lip brush ever! Did I mention it's only $6.99! I always have to mention this brush when I talk about Lip Tars, because it's like the two were made for each other. :)

Back to the Lip Tars, they have a nice minty scent. They feel really great on your lips, but can get a bit dry as they wear on, so apply some lip balm if necessary.

Lip Tars are 100% Vegan, cruelty free, and are free of parabens.

Queen, Pretty Boy, and Strumpet.

These colors are absolutely gorgeous, as are all the other Lip Tars I have. I highly recommend them if you haven't already tried them.

More Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Shadows ~ Review & Swatches

After buying my first Mabelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows in Bad To The Bronze, Tough as Taupe, and Too Cool, and completely falling in love with them, I had to get more.

CVS has these, buy one, get one half off right now! I had to go to two different stores, because the first one didn't have any in stock. These seem so hard to find right now, because everyone is loving them!

I bought 4 more of the Color Tattoos in Audacious Asphalt, Painted Purple, Edgy Emerald, and Bold Gold.

I love all of the shades I got, especially Edgy Emerald! It's such a perfect shade of green for Spring!

Audacious Asphalt and Bold Gold are great neutral colors, that you can use everyday. They blend easily and are long lasting.

Now for Painted Purple, it was the color I was most looking forward to, but I ended up being the most disappointed in this shade. The color is beautiful, but the consistency is weird on this one , when you go to apply some, then go to blend it in, it kind of just wipes away, then you repeat and the same thing happens. I hope that makes sense, haha. I guess I'm just saying it applies unevenly. I did use a primer and tried applying it with several different brushes, but I think this one is best applied with your finger, because it will pack on the most even color that way. You can see in the swatches above how it's uneven and splotchy in some areas.

As for all the rest I absolutely love them! I definitely recommend them.

I really hope Maybelline comes out with more shades! Like maybe a dark shimmery green and matte & shimmery flesh tone colors! Oh and a navy color! I hope your listening Maybelline! Bring us more colors!! :)

Butter London Slapper Nail of the Day! Spring Is Here!!

Well it might not feel like Spring where you are, but I'm from California and it has felt like Spring here since the beginning of January! December wasn't even that cold! We have had nothing but sunshine and upper 60 degree weather, so I have been feeling ready for Spring!

I went to Ulta a week ago, to browse around and see what was new. I noticed they had the Butter London, Spring colors on display. I was instantly drawn to this color called Slapper. It was the last one they had left, so of course I had to buy it!

I tried a nail polish from this line sometime last year and I hated it. I don't remember the name, but it was shimmery, it looked pretty in the bottle, but when I applied it, it was so sheer! It took like a million coats just to get it to look as it did in the bottle, plus it didn't apply very well.

I was very hesitant to purchase Slapper, but I am so glad I did! It is so beautiful!

It's a gorgeous creme teal, green shade. It's definitely a great color for Spring, it's bright and fun!

It applied very easily and I achieved full, even coverage in two coats.

This color has changed my opinion on the line and I'll definitely try some more creme shades.

Sigma Precision Tapered P86 Brush Review & 10% Off!

I just recently got around to ordering the Precision kit from Sigma, I wanted to take advantage of the 10% off sale as well!

I wanted to let you all know about the Tapered P86 brush, because it is wonderful!

I am in love with this brush! I wish I would have ordered this sooner! I have been using this for everything! I've used it for concealer, highlighter, and my new loves, the Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows.

I had originally really wanted this brush for concealer, which it's great for, but I'm finding that I'm using it more for cream shadows. Because of the tapered tip, you can really pat and blend cream shadows onto your lid and inner corners really nicely.

It's a really dense brush, but so soft at the same time. It didn't shed any hair either.

You can see the very nice tapered point, here. Also I noticed that on these new brushes, it is engraved with 'Sigma' at the base of the ferrule. I thought this was so cute.

You can't go wrong with the P86 brush or the Precision Kit. These are fabulous brushes!

I definitely recommend them!

HANA Professional Flat Iron 1" Review, With Hair Pictures!

I received the HANA Professional 1" Flat Iron a few months ago, but with all hair tools, I have to give it a good go before I feel like I can write an honest review on it. I'll also be comparing this to a ghd, because I have one.

As always Misikko sent over a wonderfully packaged flat iron! You can order these sets packaged like this on their website, it would make a great Valentine's Day gift!!

The packaging is great, it comes in a really nice tin and inside that it comes in a leather like pouch.

The HANA Professional 1" has an adjustable heat setting which is really nice, because the ghd does not have one. I like this because I don't wash my hair everyday, and on day two hair if there is a few spots I need to go over, I don't need to use full heat, I can set it to a lower temperature, reducing damage to my hair.

As you can see on the ghd, there is just a on/off switch.

Here is the HANA Professional 1" Flat Iron compared to the ghd 1" Flat Iron. They are about the same shape. The ghd is a bit longer than the HANA. The ghd is also a bit heavier.

Also the ghd, has a safety cord with a auto shut off, and the HANA has a regular plug and no auto shut off, so that can be a downer if you forget to turn off your hair straighteners. I have done this once with my ghd, so luckily it shut off! Now with the HANA I always double check to make sure I shut it off!

My thoughts on how well it actually works
When I got this flat iron I had high expectations because I already had a ghd, that I have had for 4 years, and it works just as good as the day I got it. Well the HANA Professional 1" is one of the best flat irons I have used. It really holds up against my ghd.

I have only used the HANA Professional Flat Iron since I got it, and it has been great. I have to mention I have naturally curly/wavy hair, so I have been using flat irons for years, since I was maybe 11 or so, and I have gone through so many of them. I would buy cheap ones over and over again and they would break, stop working, or not straighten my hair very well. I finally decided to invest in a good hair straightener and bought my ghd years ago, and it's the best one I have ever used, but after using the HANA for a few months I feel confident in saying it's just as good as a ghd at a fraction of the cost.

It was very easy to use. It glided over my hair and didn't snag any of my hair! I hate when flat irons do that, but this one has not since I have been using it.

It left my hair just as smooth and shiny as my ghd, and I didn't have any frizz.

Day 1
When I first used it I wanted to test out how well it straightened along with it's curling abilities, so I straightened it and curled the ends and here's how it turned out. As you can see in this photo above my hair is silky smooth! Love it!

Day 2
Here is a shot from the back on day two, all the curls are still in tact! There is NO touch ups here in this photo, I woke up and combed through my hair with a wide tooth comb. My hair doesn't hold a curl very well, so this is great! I didn't even use hairspray on my hair, just heat protectant and the HANA Professional 1" flat iron, I am impressed!

Overall thoughts
I am very happy with the HANA Professional 1" flat iron. It works very well, and heats up quickly. I would definitely recommend it if your in the market for a new flat iron.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Shadows ~ Review & Swatches

These New Maybelline Color Tattoo shadows seem to be all the rage right now, so of course being the Beauty Blogger ( ahem...beauty junkie) that I am, I had to pick up a few and try them for myself.

The colors I picked up are from top, L to R, Bad To The Bronze, Tough As Taupe, and below those is Too Cool.

I'm gonna have to jump on the band wagon with everyone else in saying that I love these! They are really creamy, and easy to blend. And as you can see the pigmentation is fabulous.

I have found these to be long lasting and got no creasing, but I wore them with Urban Decay Primer Potion, so I'm not sure how well they would wear on their own. You can use them with or without shadow on top. I like using them both ways.

The packaging is really great as well. It's about the same as the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Shadow Cremes.

I absolutely love the colors I picked up, they are so beautiful. I honestly didn't think I was going to like these so I just stuck with neutrals, but I really love them. I'm thinking about getting a couple of the colors now, maybe the purple one! :)

I highly recommend these, if you need some long lasting shadows.

I got these at Walmart for $5.94 each, so you can't really go wrong with that! They are currently all in-stock at ulta.com .

Stila In The Garden Palette Review & Swatches!

After getting the Stila In The Light palette and loving it, I knew I wanted the new In The Garden palette from Stila's Spring collection! I saw it at my Macy's but they didn't have it in stock, but the tester palette was out on display, so I swatched it and instantly fell in love! I came home and ordered it right away from Sephora! :)

I love LOVE this palette! You get a great set of colors and neutrals all in one palette! Just like the In The Light palette, the colors are velvety smooth, and highly pigmented. They are long wearing and blend easily. You can also use these wet to really intensify the color.

This is the Smudge Stick Waterproof eyeliner in Starfish that is included in the palette. I have done reviews on these liners before, they are some of my favorite pencil liners, because they do not budge! This particular color is very beautiful, they describe it as a black with gold and green pearl, but it comes off as a beautiful dark olive green. It's super easy to apply, and you do have some time to smudge it before it sets. I love it.

The only downside I see with this is that I wish there was a matte medium brown color for blending in the crease, but overall it's a great palette. The colors work really well together. Stila did a fantastic job with this one!

There's another palette called In The Moment, I think I need that one now too! :D

Revlon Color Burst Lipsticks Sale at CVS, Swatches & Review

I went to CVS this past week to pick up some stuff, and of course I had to browse the cosmetics section. I noticed they had a lot of Revlon products on sale. The Color Burst lipsticks were 75% off, so I picked up two.

The colors I bought are Crimson (left) and Soft Rose (right). I have never used these lipsticks before and am actually surprised that I haven't because the Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks are my favorite from the drugstore. I should have known I would have liked these as well.

They are very pigmented and moisturizing and glide on your lips! They last quite awhile on your lips if you aren't eating or drinking, but if you are they will fade, and they do transfer on to your cup or if you kiss someone.

The packaging is great. I love the quilted design, it makes the lipstick feel very chic.

Wet N Wild Megalast I Need A Refresh-Mint, Nail Of The Day

A few weeks ago while I was at Rite Aid, I noticed some new nail polishes from Wet n Wild and picked one up in the shade, I Need A Refreshment.

I had never used Wet n Wild nail polish before, but I'm pretty impressed. The application was great, I got even coverage in two coats, it was a bit thick but not difficult to work with.

I wore this for about a week and had very minimal chipping, so I'm happy with it.

These polishes have the rounded brush which makes application a bit easier. I really like these brushes, they're similar to the Sally Hansen brushes.

Just in case you were wondering here is a swatch of I need A Refresh-Mint on the left vs China Glaze For Audrey on the right. I Need A Refresh-Mint is a bit more green than For Audrey.

Have I mentioned that the Wet N Wild Megalast nail polishes are only $1.99! There were maybe 12 different colors, so check them out and pick one up or a few, for $1.99 you can't go wrong!

Smashbox Be Legendary Lipsticks ~ Fuchsia Flash Matte & Pink Petal Review & Swatches

I noticed a couple weeks ago some new lipsticks from Smashbox on the Sephora website and I had to try two colors that stood out to me.

These are pure love! Aren't they beautiful!?! The colors I ordered are Fuchsia Flash Matte and Pink Petal.

These are full color lipsticks that come in cream and matte formulas. They contain Vitamins C and E and are very moisturizing. They glide on very easily and make your lips feel so smooth. Even with the matte formula, it is still moisturizing, somehow, it doesn't dry out my lips which is nice, because most matte formulas are very drying.

The packaging is great. I usually prefer round tubes of lipstick but I don't mind the square packaging on these.

As you can see Fuchsia Flash Matte still has a bit of shine to it and Pink Petal is very creamy.

They are both long lasting, but Pink Petal faded a bit because of it's creamery texture.

If you haven't noticed these look very similar to the MAC Iris Apfel lipsticks I just posted about, so if you weren't able to get your hands on those definitely check these Smashbox shades out.

I am on a total lipstick kick right now. I mean I love lip products, obviously, but I have been buying even more lip products recently, so expect more lipstick posts soon! :).

These come in a ton of colors, so there's a shade out there for everyone! I definitely recommend them if your looking for some new lipsticks.

Zoya Kierra, Nail Of The Day

Here is a nail of the day, in the color Kierra by Zoya.

I wore this color once before, but didn't really care for it, this time around I love it. I really don't know why the change of heart, but now I'm enjoying it. Lol

It's just a gorgeous color for this time of year, but I also love that it's not too dark or too light, it's just the perfect shade of berry/plum.

The application was great, and I got even coverage in two coats.

These photos were taken after I had been wearing this for two days, and there is some minor fading at the tips, but no chipping.

It dries a little flat and definitely needs a top coat, but overall it's a great color.

Orly Shine, Nail of The Day

This is a quick nail of the day, which I wore on New Years. When I think of New Years, I always think of flashy silver colors, so I just threw this color on. I wasn't sure how I was going to like the color on my skin tone but I like how it turned out.

I got full coverage in two coats, but this shade was a bit streaky because of the metallic finish.

I got mine at Sally's but you can also find it on various online retailers for various prices.

Sigma Beauty has recently just launched the Extravaganza brush kit and this thing is huge! You get 29 brushes in this set! 29!!

This is definitely a splurge at $510, this comes to $17.58 per brush, which seems like a lot for Sigma brushes since we have all come to love them for the quality and price of the brushes, but these also have 18K gold plated ferrules. It makes me wonder if the ferrules weren't 18k gold plated what the price would be for this set, because who really needs 18k gold plated ferrules, with all this being said, I still want this set! It just looks so fabulous!

China Glaze Let's Groove Nail Of The Day

Please excuse the messy cuticles and application, as you know I just had a baby so I don't have time to be neat right now! :D

Here's a quick nail of the day for you.

This is China Glaze Let's Groove, which is part of the Retro Diva Collection.

This is a beautiful shimmery purple, perfect for Fall and Winter.

Application was a bit difficult as this color is a bit thick, but I got even coverage in two coats.

Overall I do love this color and would definitely recommend it if you like purple nail polish.
