I want to develop a micro enterprise that merges beautiful design, ethical profit and social change investment

Basically, I will source beautiful things from around the world and sell them.

What I buy will be driven by these principles:

• Beautiful products can be sold in a way that provides fair payment, fair prices and fair profit.
• A percentage of profit will be Invested in People’s Dreams.
• Quality relationships are integral along the whole supply chain.
• People want to make a difference and life can be fun in the process.

I aim to make sure that:

• At least 85% of beautiful things are sourced at the producer/designer level.
• At least 30% of beautiful things are made from recycled products.
• At least 10% of beautiful things are sourced from new producer/designers with the aim of providing them with some market exposure.
• If products are bought from an agent or wholesaler then Liz will ascertain the story of the products development.
• At least one 1 day contemporary bazaar of Lippylala treasures will be held annually.

The beautiful things sourced by Liz & her intrepid Lippylala Nomads will be available in only 1 place in the world – Moo Wine Bar. Ballinamore. County Leitrim. Ireland.

Moo is more than a wine bar – it’s a place where a range of experiences will be on offer – old movies over the winter; a fashion parade for charity; a play by a local theatre group; wine tastings; chocolates, cakes and ice cream made by local artisan food producers – & of course – Lippylala.

Lippylala @ Moo will be an alchemy of wine & design.

It’ll be a great amalgam of local creative enterprises. People taking risks to do what they love – and in the process support their town and ensure we don’t become Tescoland.

The Lippylala @ Moo idea only began life last night.

I was in Moo for a glass of wine and to organise my going to Oz drinks party. I got chatting to one of the owners (Mary) and we realised that there was a definite synergy in ideas that we had for our businesses. Mary & Brent want to create a space that can host a range of creative experiences while providing wine and a few nibbles.

I want a space to show all the beautiful things I’ll be gathering for Lippylala.

Before you could say ‘ another glass of that magnificent Australian red ‘ Mary & I were getting all excited about the potential for Lippylala @ Moo.

I’m delighted as I thought I was going to have to put the birth of Lippylala on the long finger because of other priorities over the next few years – publish Life Dreaming Workbook; research & build a cob home (and write/publish a workbook about it); run Focused Solutions; visit my family and friends in Oz … and loll about… and keep 4 blogs (Liz Biz; Mud Woman; Lippylala Publishing & Lippylala) happily posting.

Now I (and my intrepid Lippylala Nomads) can source beautiful things on a smaller scale. My upcoming trip to Singapore and Oz couldn’t have been timed better. I’ll have time to look at lots of beautiful things.

Feels like bliss.
