So its been a while since the blog was last updated… funny considering how hot we are on encouraging those we work with to maintain their blogs and ‘feeds’.

We have an excuse though… honest ‘guv. We have been working really, really hard with some very exciting clients and i’ll make sure we get round to putting some stuff up on our portfolio and here.

With all the extra time we (don’t) have we have been building ‘Plott’ which you can see here- Plott is amazing!

Plott helps you share moments in your life with those you care about most. It even has an app, look!!

We are launching the Beta test site pretty soon so why not pop on over and sign up to be notified of its launch, i promise you wont be disappointed. It takes like 30 seconds!!

New Site Live: Cycle-Street.co.uk

On Friday we officially launched cycle-street.co.uk to the masses. CycleStreet is Yorks latest and greatest ‘Local Bike Shop’. They already had a great social presence amongst Yorks cyclists via a very dedicated presence on Twitter but required a site where they could carry on this social interaction whilst listing special offers and highlighting key products that have arrived in store. CycleStreet never intended - for the time being at least - to sell products through their site but instead to simply categorise the stock they have in store, so we kept that section of the site fairly simple. So instead we decided to try and be creative with the displaying of infomation from the blog/twitter feeds and categories from within the blog (see the home page for examples).

CycleStreet for us was a slightly different experience for us than most other clients. We normally capture a clients interest through our method of interaction with a client, by asking them to come in and have a chat to created a tailored solution to their problems rather than simply quoting a price and showing them a template, we like to engage with our clients. However with CycleStreet we were a little late to the party and Jon (CS’s owner) had already received 3 pitches from 3 York based companies so we decided to go in with a 4th to show him how we would do it and as a result of our design and pitch we beat off the 3 York Based companies and secured the job.

New Site Live: GetSneaky.co.uk

We’ve had the GetSneaky.co.uk website live for a week or two now but wanted a little time for it to settle before we shared it with you all. Sneaky is a Midlands based company that specialises in creating unique and beautiful pieces of jewellery and accessories out of found and unwanted household items. Due to the process and the source of the materials used, most items produced by sneaky are unique and one offs that cant be reproduced, making them an ideal present for family and friends, as well as a nice alternative for those looking to buy green and environmentally friendly products.

We worked with Sneaky from the ground up, working with them on the kind of audience they want to target with their branding and name through to their logo, website and online shop.

The logo was fun to work on with Sneaky as they were open to have some fun and be a little different with it, so we came up with the idea of the logo being unique and forever changing like its products. The logo put simply is a circle (block colour or photograph of an object) with the world Sneaky in a random typeface located within a restricted area of the logo. As you browse through the site you will see how the logo changes.

Sneaky is a great company and one that we look forward to working with more in the future and helping them become the next big thing in alternative culture.

Wanted to chuck a quick update out there to prove we are still in existence. In fact we have set co-ordinates for the sun and are looking at total world dominance! It just takes time. No big deal.

We are all holed up at the moment working on a new ‘Social, location based service platform’ (try saying that with your mouth full). The build is coming along nicely and we anticipate launching a teaser presence shortly. We are in the process of negotiating start up funding with some excellent partners and this is both an intense learning curve and hell of a lot of fun. It’s what we do! New partners and new opportunities means new locations and we are looking in depth at cities and countries we can see our selves ‘lording it up’ in.

All this activity means we are all over the place mentally and physically as we explore all the potential that lays before us. There just aren’t enough hours in the day or zeros on our phone bill. Stick with us we will, very soon, be rocking your world.

Hello hello. Its been a while since Ive updated this, so heres a little catch up of whats happening. Ive just finished a two week placement at Liquid24 Design agency in Derby which has been aces. All the guys are top, and I got to work on some rather exciting stuff, which will hopefully be revealed and used in the coming months. After finishing one placement I have swiftly moved onto my second placement at Stone Soup studio in York. Im here for two more weeks and so far it has been wicked. I look forward to the rest of the placement, again working on some exciting projects. The next few posts are some things that have inspired me recently. Enjoy.

Work Placement: Dave Raxworthy Last Day and Live on Radio1

Sad faces everyone :-( its Dave Rax’s last day with Liquid 24 before he heads back to York and then on to his Final year at Nottingham Trent Uni. Its been a pleasure working with him and the atmosphere had been brilliant in the office. We will share with you - when its clear to do so - some of the stuff he has worked on. I’m fairly sure that some of it will go into mass distribution soon which is exciting.

Just thought I’d let you all know that Dave has decided to return for a second week which we like :-) he is currently working away mocking up some poster designs and preparing them for the client (which happens to be us) Were hopping to get him a little micro site up by the end of the week, we will share it with you when we get it live.

Nexus One Is Dead

If theres one thing we all agree on in the office, its that mobile technology is the future. These days phones are being used more and more for things they never set out on day one to be used for, making calls. Today we can browse the internet anywhere, video chat, play games, take photos, record video, blog and plenty more.

At the moment for me there are a few main competitors in this technology convergence market, Apple with its iPhone, Google with Android and all its manufactures like HTC, a few smaller threats like Blackberry and smart phone offerings from Nokia.

For me the two stand technologies have to be iPhone because really - even thought it has its flaws - its set the bench mark and Android (Google) because of its alternative take on how the apps work by implementing an Open Source operating system.

For me the Androids Flag ship phone was the Nexus One (a phone designed by google this time rather than manufacturers like HTC) which i was amazed to see this morning that Google have given up on. This is the phone that in my frustration waiting for the new iphone i almost bought (at at times would have bought over the iphone should it have been released at the time).

I’ll let the Guardians Article on the end of the Nexus One cover all the details which can be found here.

I think its retail facotor and the pending release of the iphone 4 (due to all the leaks) was ultimately what lead to its downfall, I guess we’ll just have to wait for the Nexus Two for someone to finally give the iPhone a run for its money.
