Alas Liquid Solutions Inc. as a business entity is dead and buried but Liquidsolutions.biz the website and purveyor of world-class beer lives on under the new ownership of Sixteen Tons LLC located in Eugene Oregon. We hope to have a great selection available shortly so as to continue to provide you with the great beers you expect from Liquidsolutions.biz.

It is that time once again. What started as a small surprise 80th birthday party for world-renowned beer writer Fred Eckhardt is coming back around in its fifth year as one of the most anticipated beer events of the year. As always, 100% of the proceeds from FredFest and the related auctions will go to a charity of Fred's choice. This year, Fred has named the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as the 2010 recipient of the fest.

It is with a heavy heart that I am closing the business down after nine years of operation. We are shutting down the website and liquidating our entire inventory out of the warehouse. Sorry that I have not had the time to get to all of the emails but it has been absolutely crazy here at the warehouse. The 2009 year-end has been especially difficult. Please bear with me as I expect things to calm down here in the next week or so. I have a new lot of vintage beers to put up for sale today. Are you prepared to jump head long into The Abyss??? This beer has sooooo much going on it takes several sips to get a handle on it all. First and foremost it is an imperial stout of the highest caliber. Not sweet, this 11% stout has only a hint a caramel. The predominant flavors are of roasted barley, licorice, and molasses. Light bitter hop finish with a bit of a drying bite from the black malts and licorice and a spicy alcohol hit at the end. If that were not enough all of this has been aged in French oak and Bourbon casks. The oak an bourbon tones meld perfectly with the molasses and roasty flavors, none predominating the other. Superb A++.

It has 10% alcohol and that sweet fruity flavor one would expect from a triple. It has a thick rocky head on it, an orange / prune flavor and a spicy warming finish. This beer gets a very high rating form me.
