So I am a sucker for pop and when I heard the beginning of #HawaiiSlashStayAwake. I was pretty happy, and excited to see what awesomeness #Waterparks were about to unfold. I løved their #Blacklight as well as #ClusterEP #ImNaturalBlueEP was one of my favorites. That progressive riff, oof it kills me every time.

One of my favorite lyrics on this album is from the song #GloomBoys

The album all around is very enticing, and was put together for the #PopSceneYouth. It just shows how two-faced we can be. Not just Americans, but as a whole society. We hide behind anonymous black screens.

This album is a little different, a little catching you off guard. It is quite a bit different from what “you” as a listener are accustomed to with #TDCC. It is missing those catchy lil fucking riffs, put out by #SamiHalliday; like in their albums #TouristHistory and #Beacon, however, it is more flowing and synthesized to a degree of greatness. Its a little more chill and a little more disco.

So this band have a special place in my heart, just because of how fucking tragically real life craziness scenarios this particular album can put you through and its sort of an, all too relatable roller coaster of emotion, you can feel super fuking deep. Its beautiful, really. To give you a small back story from what I can understand was that the lead singer #LandonJacobs went through a #FuckingStringOfABadYear. He was recently divorced, went through his own personal hell, just to find out that the universe was like Naw, we are going to make things even more tragic and have your mother die from cancer, but consequently you and your band will put out an album that will change peoples lives, with your undeniable lyrics and musical talent transparency. #ImADreamerStuckInTheRealWorld #ImADreamerStuckInANightmare.

Every Where is Some Where

I am not going to lie when I heard the first song, I was like, oh okay. I see what is happening. But, when #BloodInTheCut came on. I was like, “Yes, this is the #K.Flay, that I adore and love. The K.Flay that had that rawness and beauty in the lyrics and the flow.” I was first introduced to K.Flay on sort of a total accident. My homie Jay and I were making food and listening to a random play list on #Spotify and a remix of her song #CantSleep and then searched #MakeMeFade remix by #DJVanic or now #Vanic. We were instantly hooked.

The shitty thing was that we could barely find anything on her. NOTHING was on Spotify, or even #Tidal at that point. #Apple had not launched #AppleMusic yet. We then finally found something on the internet, her #LifeAsADog had just come out. Even now as I am re-listening to it, it takes me back to one THE BEST FUCKING SUMMERS, I have ever had in Utah. From new apartment, new me, to the 4th of July to making awesome friends, losing some, and then just rocking out to this in my AudiTTQuattroConvertible, topdown of course cruising and getting lit in the canyons, having awesome talks about life. So back to this album, yeah? Oof that bass line in #BloodInTheCut, its like an old modern rock rap of dopeness. It reminds me of something that could be like on #DeathProof by #QuentinTaratino and #HighEnough has an eerily awesome feeling of #Pixies #WhereIsMyMind. I was wondering when she was going to do a song about drugs or some sort of substance abuse. She had an interview done by Radio.com and explained the meaning behind it perfectly, who would have thought, :p

“There are so many songs out there about getting fucked up. I think a part of me was asking the question: ‘What if I’m already high enough? What if I don’t need anything but what I’ve got?’ There are many moments in my life—whether it’s because of a person or a place—that I don’t want to feel altered or high or buzzed. I just want to feel exactly what I’m feeling.”

Yeah some, if not most of those feelings are the best. When you can be content. When you can take in those moments without an adulterated outlook. Basically we are in a #BigPharma greed fueled world, that wants to have each and everyone of us become some sort of #SubstanceAbuser. #TheyBottleItCallItMedicine. But each business to their own if that makes sense. Everything has its own Pros and Cons. Pro for #BigPharma, its keeping me alive for one.

This album has great mix of indie and electronica; mixed with rock, and rapping your socks off in #Champagne. I feel like it went something like this.

I didn't really, really get introduced to Lauv til I went to see my one homie #Jay in #Idaho. His team AtlasDivine and his new collaboration with Nick Gimore spawned a bad ass cover of #iLikeMeBetter. Which, you can find on my personal playlist on Spotify. LiquideSessiøns New Shit.

I was had been living under a rock with newer music, and artists emerging, as I was tied up in getting my website up and figuring out how I wanted to deliver my book. I guess getting this Podcast going which had been in the revised plan, numerous times over the years.

I found out in my research that Lauv is Latvian for 'lion' (lauva). This was a thank you to his mother's heritage as well as his first name Ari, meaning 'lion' in Hebrew, oh and yeah its his fucking #ZodiacSign #Leø.

He started had intentionally wanting to write and produce for other artists. But upon his sophomore year at NYU majoring in music technology; he had an interview that stimulated something deep inside his writing and process that he never knew he had. Boom then off to writing his own material after helping co-write and co-produce #CheatCodes #DemiLovato's song #NoPromises.

His break through song #TheOther with Michael Matosic peaked at number three on the blog #AggeratorHypeMachine and hitting #GlobalTop100 on Spotify. And dddaaammnnnn its everything you'd want in a R&B Pop #HeartbreakSong.

“The song is about coming to the scary point in a relationship where something in you starts to question if the person is really the one for you, if the love is really as true as you thought,” […] “The lyrics tell the story of the internal battle you go through coming upon a break up. You don’t want to admit it to yourself or to the world, but it just doesn’t feel right.”

Yeah, the “through coming up a break-up” is key to me there. I remember when I had a girlfriend. No thats it just #iMember. No, like that girlfriend I had back then was going to break-up with me. I could feel it coming on exactly how he said. It was just weird it wasn't right and to make things weirder. I played #Angels&Airwaves #TheWar the chorus was perfect. I was picking her up from work. And I was like hey listen to this awesome song by #AVA. I think blasted the pre-chorus and chorus.

I texted back, “If this was in person you wouldn't be able to do this.” Boom called that technological down fall of desensitization, but fuck it, it was over. I found this particular Artist but going through some different playlists on Spotify as well as researching what other people were talking about, then listening to the top ones on peoples own charts. I had listened to #WhenIWasYung first. It had a more unique sound than the others rap artists gaining traction and it was all happening in #Blunington Beach as he so eloquently refers to #HuntingtonBeach which is also gaining rep in the Hip-Hop spots in America.

Yung Pinch was given to him after he would pinch blunts with his older homies in the 714. He has already opened up for big hip hop acts, such as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Nipsey Hussle, Ty Dolla $ign, Nate Dogg, Lil Uzi Vert, and Playboi Carti.

Breaking out at only the age of 19. Hardships were a little different for him growing up.

“I grew up with kids with rich parents and what not: nice house, well off, got a car when they turned sophomores— a nice brand new car that you would work your whole life to get,” he says, “I dunno it was different for me, I grew up with my grandparents because both my parents did drugs since I was a kid, they were in and out of jail.”

I sort of found this out on my own. I was with my homie Jay,damn it was a great fucking year for music and him introducing me to the technicalities of making a track from scratch. Plus, I was becoming more, I guess you could say “deep” with EDM, and then its technicalities like for example difference between say the basics of #Techno #House #Trance and then sub genres of each like #DeepHouse #Progressive of if it was #Future or not. For instance #Marshmello by Wiki standards is a #FutureBassElectronicProgressiveHouseTrap yes, I said that right. There are 13 fucking thousand Sub-genres! Jesus Christ! May … be the only one to know all of those.

Anyways, I was reading up on Zedd and saw that he was doing a contest to remix #SelenaGomez #iWantYouToKnow and you could win all of this cool shit along with it.

I being a visual person, and had seen many bands do this. We had 19 days to do it when we found out! I think … you had 30 days, we lost 11 days Ahhhh!!! I put up a white board on our fridge, where we could see it everyday. For the people listening its separated in 6 categories: Fucking w/stems, Layers, Chorus', Vocals, Original Lyrics, Artwork.

Stems for the people wondering what the fuck they are, which were the samples of audio tracks from drums, to vocals, to guitars that Zedd had made that you then combined into a final mix. I wanted it to be done in 14, so we could have 5 days to really scrutinize for the final push. So we went to work on it and damn, I thought it turned out super well. We vowed in blood to not listen to the other submissions lol. But really, I just wanted us to work on it without outside influences, but our own.
