Working with the women of the International Institute for HealthCare Businesses was really fun. At first I was worried about working with a committee, as this can sometimes lead to indecision and inefficiency, but boy howdy was I wrong. Not only was it a great time working together (see their testimonial here), they love the resulting website!!

Saskia had a very clear vision of how she wanted her redesigned WordPress website to look, and of the energetic impression of her that she wanted her viewers to receive. We had a good time bringing this vision to life and crafting it in such a way that viewers could most easily get where they wanted to go. The final result is a website that is bright and welcoming and also clearly communicates to viewers what wonderful gifts and services Saskia has to offer them.

UPDATE: It’s been a year since I did this redesign for Saskia’s website and after a shift in her business model and branding focus, she decided she wanted a new look! The new logo would be used to expand on their trademarked “Culture Rules” 9 C’s business theology. It would be used in specific branding instances on their website and print materials. It needed to have a clear relationship with the main logo, but still be able to stand on its own. They were very happy with the new logo and how it communicated the essence of their message so clearly.

Susan wanted to totally revamp her branding and give “Beautiful Bold Inspired” a fresher, more striking look. We started with the site header/logo and after finding the right balance of spaciousness and boldness (it had to back-up the claim to boldness in the name!!!) extrapolated that look to the rest of the site design.

After lots of good communication, sharing of visions, and time spent getting to know each other, Susan’s vision has been brought to life.

I will admit to being a little nervous, I had never worked with someone quite so famous before, and I wasn’t sure what that would look like. It turns out that what it looks like is a grounded and considerate co-creative process, a team of kind and talented people, a perspective of honesty, generosity and mindfulness, and a woman at the center of the project who walks-her-(world renowned)-talk.

I worked with joy, stretched my skillset and creative boundaries, learned and taught a lot, laughed a lot, and contributed to the birthing of a wondrous new online presence that my client and her team are ecstatically happy with…what a wonderful experience!!

The nitty-gritty:

• SARK + Team came to me with an existing but unfinished WordPress website design.
• They were looking for someone to:
• polish the website mock-up and bring it up to SARK’s level of fun, creativity, integrity and personality
• build the new WordPress website from scratch
• get the support team members up and running with training on managing site updates and maintenance.
• We worked as a core team of 5, with some other contributing team members joining in at various points along the way.

This is a very brief overview of the WordPress website design project Amy and I completed recently.

Amy was getting ready to launch her first published book and wanted a WordPress website that combined the professionalism of a bestselling author and a warm and welcoming landing place for her viewers.

We took the initial site comp that Amy had from another designer and made fairly extensive revisions (see initial and revised comps below). The final result is a bright, beautiful, professional, communicative website that is extremely functional and easy to navigate.
