Removing the Statute of Limitations will allow us to STOP pedophiles from abusing more children. Most pedophiles have several victims in their lifetime and as many as 400 child victims for a serial pedophile. Statute of Limitations on child sexual abuse cases is a disgrace that has continued far too long.

Stories of child sexual abuse dominated the headlines in 2011, but because the alleged crimes happened so long ago, few of the victims in those cases were able to sue their abusers.

Now, lawmakers around the country are pushing to extend or waive their states' statute of limitations for childhood sexual abuse charges, but the initiative has its opponents — including the Catholic Church — who argue it could unleash a torrent of lawsuits.

Giving A Voice To The Abused

It took almost 30 years, but in December 2011, Richard Fitter finally went public with the allegation that former New Jersey priest John Capparelli had repeatedly groped him in the early 1980s.

Fitter says he first reported Capparelli to another priest in 1992. Capparelli, who denies the allegations, was removed from the ministry. Fitter thought Capparelli was no longer working with children, but he continued to teach in Newark, N.J., public schools until reports detailing a long list of allegations against him appeared last year in the Newark Star-Ledger. When Fitter read those stories, he decided it was time to come forward — again.

With the explosive popularity of smartphones and social media platforms, sharing photos has never been easier. Millions of pictures are uploaded to the web every day, and camera-enabled mobile phones are the perennial top-selling consumer electronic devices. So it’s a safe bet that even more photos will be cropping up on image-hosting communities and personal websites.

But what exactly is being shared?

In some cases, you might unwittingly be letting others know where you live and work and your travel patterns and habits. These details can be revealed through bits of information embedded in images taken with smartphones and some digital cameras and then shared on public websites. The information, called metadata, often includes the times, dates, and geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude) where images are taken.

Hotlines flooded with calls from sex-abuse victims

Teens and young men, mostly, who had spent years in a private hell that nobody knew of and that they never spoke of. But something in the sound of Jerry Sandusky’s voice, as the former defensive coordinator told the nation that he was only “horsing around” in the shower with little boys, moved them to speak. Or maybe it was the awful familiarity of the grand jury indictment, seeing their own secret laid out in black and white.

The nation’s sex abuse hotlines are ringing like mad — for at least one national hotline, at 54 percent above normal — with victims who have decided to speak out. “I haven’t seen anything like it. I’ve been doing this for 10 years now, I’ve never seen any type of reaction like this,” said Jennifer Marsh, who is the hotline director at the Rape Abuse & Incest National Network, which is based in the District but takes calls and e-mails from all over the nation. At that hotline, 72 percent of the victims who reach out are between 13 and 24, and half of them are discussing abuse or rapes that took place five or more years ago, Marsh said. “A lot of them are male,” Marsh said. “When they go online to reach us, it’s usually male victims, because of the anonymity they find online.”

This broken silence might be the only positive legacy of the Penn State scandal and the spectacle of a pillar of the community being charged with 40 counts of sexually abusing children for 15 years.

Help is listening without attempting to fix…sometimes

Can you think of a time when someone listened to you without attempting to fix your problem? Maybe they told you they support you, they were there for you and it was enough.

My friend, Theresa called me to vent and to verify she’s not going crazy. She was sexually abused as a child and has had two abusive marriages. She’s currently in her second marriage and has children.

Theresa realizes her relationship issue stems from abuse as a child still unable to figure out why she stays. Her husband ridicules her when she says he is abusive. She naturally questions herself. Hubby makes her and everyone in their circle believe she is the one with problems. When in counseling she recognizes hubby is wrong but also asks what her part is in the abuse. She has a need to understand. She recognizes it isn’t all one person.

At one point she feared he would kill her. She turned to family for help. They told her she was crazy for fearing him. They cited this and her outward verbal anger for why she needed psychological help.

Family members’ were not the only one telling Theresa she was wrong. One evening, around 1:00 a.m. when Theresa returned home from work, her husband angry that she was working so late and believing she was cheating hit her and threw her out of the house. She didn’t have her car keys and wasn’t wearing shoes but she had her cell phone so she called the police thinking they would help her get into the house to retrieve her keys and leave. She was shocked when police told her they were arresting her husband. They said she had no say in the matter. They told her it was for her own protection.

During this process she gave up her children believing she was helping them. Theresa’s family told her they would not help her communicate with her children. The significance here is that the judge ordered communications through Theresa’s family to the children. Her family, in her words, shut the door and locked her out. Theresa’s expression for her family demanding it be their way. They told her she would have to work it out with the person she feared, her husband.

For weeks all she could talk about was the police and what they did for her was what she couldn’t do for herself. She memorized the exact words, replaying that moment over in her mind. She cried reliving that moment trying to understand. She held onto that belief, those words as the Judge scorned her for repeatedly staying out until 1:00 a.m. You see her work doesn’t require her to work any specific place. She works on her computer wherever she is. The problem with her doing work at home was hubby would start arguments and sabotage her work. She found it was best for her to work in her car and found a safe place to park. The problem was that Theresa was an emotional wreck and hubby looks professional and caring and sincere. When the judge scorned her she felt hopeless and didn’t say a word to explain herself. You see it seemed only reasonable that hubby was angry and fearful.

Theresa held onto the police words as her advocates told her she was unbelievable, and that they didn’t believe her.

Theresa held onto the police words as her family told her she was crazy for believing her husband wanted to kill her.

Those words vanished when Theresa’s family told her they wouldn’t help her communicate with her children and she would have to work it out with her husband.

Theresa decided she needed to take an antidepressant so she could stop the flood of emotions and fear, so she could think logically and try to see what everyone else was seeing.

The police that arrived on the scene that night spoke to everyone at the scene, saw the evidence in the home, saw the evidence of the location of the parties, took pictures of what they saw on Theresa’s body and spoke the words she relived over and over. One by one others were able to paint a different picture for Theresa so when hubby spoke to her she finally accepted that she was wrong.

Theresa called me today to tell me she received a notice for uninsured vehicles. Your license is taken away for non-compliance. The letter was requesting proof of insurance. She asked hubby about it. He told her not to worry because they are insured. She went online to enter the information. The system took all but one vehicle. She told hubby. He responded, “Don’t worry that’s the only one without insurance.”

Theresa’s response was, “Oh okay. Well only that vehicle is going to get your license taken away.” Hubby said she was the reason he didn’t have money to pay the insurance because he had to pay $5,000 to attorneys because she called the police on him. Apparently that $5,000 went a long way because he hasn’t paid a lot of things.

Today another financial issue arose that hurt someone else, her husband pointed to Theresa as the reason. She became angry because it affected this person’s family over Thanksgiving. Theresa yelled at hubby demanding he take responsibility for his actions and stop blaming her. Hubby walked out only to return hours later telling her she is never to speak to him like that again or she would regret it. He repeated, “You will never speak to me like that again or you will regret it,” as he walked out.

Theresa struggles to get out of bed every morning, feeling overwhelmed by the responsibility and blame for hubby’s daily financial decisions. He hasn’t been physical with her but the psychological and financial abuse is just as painful. The antidepressant helps some. Thankfully she has her work with children. It’s the only thing that keeps her going. She’s able to move because she knows they need her and she puts their needs over hers.

I know the only thing I can do for her, the only thing she can accept right now is a friend to listen without judgment, without attempting to fix, a friend that says I’m here for you, I support you and I’m not going to leave you.

I asked if I could post this on my blog today requesting prayers. She doesn’t see a way out so I told her I’d pray for god to show her the way, to guide her and give her the answers she needs.

Bill Would Emphasize Awareness Training for Those Most Likely to Witness Abuse

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) today introduced legislation to require all adults to report child abuse and neglect to the appropriate authorities.

“As we’re trying to comprehend what appears to be a case of blatant failure on the part of adults to protect children, our focus should be on doing everything we can to prevent abuse in the future,” said Senator Casey. “I introduced this legislation to close a loophole that allows abusers to get away with heinous crimes and emphasize the responsibility of all adults to protect children from abuse and neglect.”

The Speak Up to Protect Every Abused Kid (Speak Up) Act of 2011 would require all states to pass and enforce a law requiring all adults to report instances of known or suspected child abuse in order for states to receive funding through the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA), the federal statute focused on child abuse and neglect prevention and response.

The Speak Up Act will specify that child abuse must be reported directly to law enforcement or the state's Child Protective Services agency. Currently, federal law does not specify to whom mandated reporters must report suspected abuse or neglect. In Pennsylvania and many other states, the reporter must notify only the person in charge of the relevant institution, creating a loophole that tragically prevents or delays action against suspected abusers.

The bill will also:

Provide support to states to carry out educational campaigns and training to inform individuals about what constitutes child abuse and neglect, and promote greater responsibility;

Promotes new approaches and techniques to improve reporting; and

Evaluate states' progress on mandatory reporting.

The Speak Up Act is cosponsored by Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA).

The New York Daily News is reporting that Jerry Sandusky's lawyer, Joe Amendola, got a 16-year-old client pregnant and later married her. She gave birth when she was 17 years old and Amendola was about 49 years old. They have two children.

But don't worry, according to documents filed at the Centre County, PA courthouse he followed the law. Amendola represented a 16-year-old girl known then as Mary Lavasile when she filed an emancipation petition in September 1996. She graduated from high school with a 3.69 GPA and held a fulltime job at Amendola's law office. The age of consent in Pennsylvania is 16.

Apparently Amendola has represented other members of the Penn State football community.

She gave birth when she was 17 years old and Amendola was about 49 years old. They have two children. Mary Lavasile is now divorced from Amendola but has retained his last name.

According to documents filed at the Centre County, PA courthouse he followed the law. Amendola represented a 16-year-old girl known then as Mary Lavasile when she filed an emancipation petition in September 1996. CEO for Sandusky's "Second Mile" Charity Resigns

On Sunday the President/CEO of The Second Mile for 28 years, Dr. Jay Rackovitz submitted his resignation to the Board of Directors.

A mother wrote to The Second Mile this week, ‘I am saddened by the prospect of people losing faith in this amazing organization . . ..What you have built in my child is a confidence, a sense of belonging, respect, joy in helping others, and most importantly, his self esteem . . ..”I hope that my resignation brings with it the beginning of that restoration of faith in the community of volunteers and staff that, along with the children and families we serve, are The Second Mile.

Dr. Rackovitz sounds sincere in his statement of concern for the children and families. However, sincerity is telling the truth and disclosing in advance even at your own peril. The "appearance" of sincerity does not detract from the facts made public to date:

1. Victims listed so far have been Second Mile children,
2. Wendell Courtney, who resigned from his position as General Counsel for Second Mile was also Counsel for Penn State and had knowledge of the allegations against Sandusky,
3. One volunteer, Judge Leslie Dutchcot has freed Jerry Sandusky, putting the community and victims at risk.

As for The Second Mile's ongoing operations, the statement on the website from the Board of Directors is proof itself that this non-profit organization has no clue how to protect children.

The Second Mile website posts a statement from the Board of Directors which includes the following decisions:

"We will conduct an internal investigation to assess our internal policies, procedures and processes; and make recommendations regarding the organization’s future operations. We hope to have those findings by the end of December."
"We have engaged as our General Counsel the firm of Archer & Greiner, including partner Lynne Abraham. Archer & Greiner succeeds Wendell Courtney, who resigned from that position last week."

This is NOT enough! First of all, as I choose my words very carefully, let me simply state #1 is a process that should have been done numerous times. ALL non-profits and every organization that works with children MUST have internal policies and procedures for the protection of children that are not stagnant but re-visited yearly.

Did Attorney Wendell Courtney assist and/or request updated polices during his tenure??

Parents have got to learn to request copies of policy & procedures from EVERY organization, including daycares, YMCA's, Boy/Girl Scouts, Sports Leagues, etc....BEFORE leaving your child with these people. I cannot stress this enough. If there is one thing the public can learn from this Penn State/Second Mile/Pennsylvania abuse of children is the need for parents to require written policies. And that's bare minimum.

The "internal investigation" now needs to include the possibility of prior disclosures and complaints. Investigations on a large scale including donors, staff and volunteers must be initiated.

More to come, you can be sure of that.

Judge who Released Sandusky on Bail Volunteered for his Charity

District Justice Judge Leslie Dutchot was a volunteer for Sandusky's charity, "Second Mile" in 2008 and 2009. She also contributed financially to Second Mile.

Is this not clearly a conflict of interest?

Just like Joe Paterno, she broke no law but you must question why she did not publicly disclose this fact and remove herself on the ground of conflict of interest.

Getting to the truth in Pennsylvania is going to take the public demanding Federal government involvement in assisting current state attorney general, Linda Kelly. Even with evidence there will continue to be proclamation of innocence and non-involvement. Excuse the cliché’ but this is just the tip of the iceberg.

PENN STATE COVER UP - OR - PEDOPHILIA NETWORK??

Do you really believe Sandusky is the only Pedophile?
Is this a cover-up or active participation in pedophilia?

I, like everyone else, jumped on Paterno when I read a graduate “student” had reported seeing the child sexual abuse incident to Paterno.

In further research I learned Mike McQueary, the graduate “student” was actually a graduate “Assistant.” This does not remove Paterno's adult responsibility. This is, however, an important error of facts.

At this point I stopped my blogging and began researching published facts. That’s when I posted the grand jury report. I wanted to see if others would pick up what I was.

Can you find clues of something much more devious, much larger than a cover-up in protection of one man?

The current Attorney General, Linda Kelly has her work cut out for her. Pedophilia experts are needed.

A team of pedophilia experts including survivors of such abuse will need to be consulted. Survivors of this type of abuse will be able to provide a much deeper understanding of pedophilia networks that will be needed in understanding the clues others will not see or will misinterpret.

Researching prior cases including “unfounded” cases of pedophilia with a focus on connections to "Second Mile," Sandusky’s charity and/or Penn State.

Researching the ex-officio member of PSU Board who was also State Attorney General during initial investigation and is now PA Governor, Tom Corbett. How much has he helped in getting this case to where it is currently? I don’t know but I believe we need to know.

Further research is needed on the case of missing District Attorney, Ray Gricar. Research his cases including unfounded cases of pedophilia.

What do you see that needs further research?

Stop! Wait! Not so fast. This is unacceptable and it must STOP!

The news report today is: PATERNO NOT ACCUSED OF DOING ANYTHING ILLEGALLY WRONG.

What kind of message is this to students, children, parents, society and pedophiles?

Maybe for the school's preservation Mr. Paterno must step down, but from a criminal perspective it's just the beginning. Call it what it is! Joe Paterno is an accomplice to child sexual abuse. He allowed it to happen.

Paterno is a professional. I don't appreciate his statement, “I did what I was supposed to do,” by handing it off to Curley? What is this, "justifiable abuse?" As any athlete knows, because coaches such as Paterno teach them, the key in football is follow-through. You make contact and then you follow-through. Without follow-through you fail.

Joe Paterno failed to follow-through in protecting this 10 year-old child and future victims.

Last week Sandusky still had access to Penn State's weight room....as recently as last week.!?!? How many more children have not come forward because of Paterno's status, Penn State's status, the Hall of Football Fame, etc. This is the "whole" circle of abuse - the "whole message" to victims to keep silent. This is also the power given pedophiles.

Do you want to keep blaming the victim? Do you want to keep criticizing the victim and question their motive when out-of-the-blue they disclose abuse? Well here’s your answer folk’s. Pedophiles and their powerful protectors make it nearly impossible for a victim to safely disclose. Paterno-type people are the "wind beneath their (pedophile) wings." They "feed" their pedophile friends.

Not only did Mr. Paterno's failure to follow-through allow Sandusky to victimize boys for another seven years, Paterno is a participant in the abuse.

More than 60% of U.S. children exposed to violence in one year

NEW YORK, Nov. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Leading policymakers, researchers, scholars, jurists, and child advocates from across the country have issued a public statement calling for the development of robust plans of action at federal, state and local levels to address all violence against children. The joint statement cites epidemic levels of violence against children in the U.S., which has the worst record of fatalities due to child abuse among industrialized nations.

According to a recent BBC report, "over the past 10 years, more than 20,000 American children are believed to have been killed in their own homes by family members. That is nearly four times the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The child maltreatment death rate in the U.S. is triple Canada's and 11 times that of Italy. Millions of children are reported as abused and neglected every year." The dire reality of child abuse was made visible last week when a disturbing video was released showing a 16-year-old girl's violent beating at the hands of her father, a Texas family court judge.

The joint statement is the outcome of a national consultation convened last Friday by the Children's Studies Center for Research, Policy and Public Service at Brooklyn College. Participants included representatives from the U.S. Department of Justice, the United Nations, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, and the State Legislature, among others, as well as neuroscientists, psychologists, and sociologists. The statement received overwhelming support from the presenters, members of the audience and representatives of key local and national organizations.

The statement calls for the creation of a national commission on children—the first since 1987—to address the challenges facing our nation's children; the development of federal, state and local policies, legislation and regulations to prohibit all forms of violence against children in all settings; and the consolidation of national data systems and research on violence against children in order to inform advocacy, policy making and resource mobilization to safeguard children's right to freedom from violence. The list of signatories will be released later this month.

At the conclusion of the event, Assemblyman William Scarborough (NY-29) announced that he will introduce legislation during the next session calling for the creation of a State Commission on Child Abuse and Violence against Children.

The Children's Studies Center for Research, Policy and Public Service concentrates on pedagogy, research, and public service. It participates in local, national, and international research on behalf of children and youth, and assistance to governmental and advocacy agencies as well as community-based organizations in their work on behalf of children and young people. This year marks the twentieth anniversary of the founding of children and youth studies, an interdisciplinary field of study focusing on children and youth ages 0 to 18 which represent a distinct socio-cultural and generational cohort. Sociology Professor Gertrud Lenzer, director of the center, is credited with establishing the field.

Brooklyn College of the City University of New York enrolls 17,000 undergraduate and graduate students in more than 130 degree programs in business, education, humanities and social sciences, natural and behavioral sciences, and visual, media and performing arts.

Fed grant allows Fresno to target sex predators

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer says he fears a toxic combination of declining budgets, the uncertain future of overcrowded state prisons and Fresno's already burgeoning sex-offender population could create a surge in molesters preying on children.

To help combat the expected problem, his department received a nearly $500,000 federal grant to create a Child Sexual Predator Task Force. The City Council signed off on it last week.

Dyer said the two-year grant will help police bolster already substantial efforts to monitor sex offenders, teach youngsters how to avoid trouble and find victims too scared to report abuse.
Dyer said combating child sexual predators is a priority even if it forces him to siphon scarce money from other services, such as patrol.

"I can't think of a better place to commit our resources than in protecting our children from the hands of a child molester," Dyer said.

To the council on Thursday and in an interview on Friday, Dyer painted a picture of local trends that, he said, suggests serious challenges ahead.

The Police Department has lost about 10% of its sworn officers through attrition due to the city's nearly three-year financial crisis. Dyer said his smaller department is charged with monitoring about 1,600 registered sex offenders.

In more economically flush times, Dyer said, many sex offenders emerging from state prison would have moved into state-funded housing as they transitioned to a self-sustaining life. With that funding slashed because of the state's own budget woes, Dyer said, many sex offenders are going straight from prison to Fresno's homeless encampments.

City Hall is breaking up homeless encampments throughout the city and trying to move their inhabitants into permanent housing. The rub, Dyer said, is that federal money for homeless housing can't be spent on giving sex offenders a roof.

With nowhere to live and faced with the legal mandate to register their whereabouts with law enforcement, Dyer said, sex offenders often list the Fresno Rescue Mission as their home.
"The reality is there's no way to know where they're at," Dyer said.

Even before the grant, Dyer said, he had assigned three detectives to full-time duty in the department's sex crimes unit. Among other duties, the detectives made routine visits to homeless encampments to monitor sex offenders and make sure they're registered. With the scattering of the camps, Dyer said, the detectives now must track down people who want to stay in the shadows.

The Rev. Larry Arce, the mission's chief executive officer, said there are about 35 registered sex offenders staying at the mission. Many more come to the mission for clothes or a meal, then return to the streets, he said.

Arce said society in recent years has been more diligent in requiring sex offenders to stay in touch with law-enforcement agencies, making it almost impossible to say whether Fresno's population of sex offenders has grown in the past decade.

"You notice them more now because you can identify them," Arce said.
Arce said Dyer's grant is good for Fresno. He said the mission works with officers searching for specific offenders.

Complicating matters is the age of the victims, Dyer said. All too often, he said, the children are too young to recognize dangerous situations and too frightened to report abuse.

Dyer said he added it all up and decided he must expand his department's focus on sex predators while prudently but clearly sounding the public alarm.

For example, he said, the grant includes $40,000 to pay for specially trained chaplains who will work with elementary schools to educate children.

"We don't want to take away a child's innocence," Dyer said. "But we do want to make them aware of the fact that they need to be careful."

Dyer said the two-year grant for $496,606 will pay for another full-time detective plus three part-time employees. The part-timers will be retired detectives, he said.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — An explosive sex abuse scandal and possible cover-up rocked Happy Valley after former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, once considered Joe Paterno's heir apparent, was charged with sexually assaulting eight boys over a 15-year period. Among the allegations was that a graduate assistant saw Sandusky assault a boy in the shower at the Nittany Lions' practice center in 2002.

Sandusky retired in 1999 but continued to use the school's facilities for his work with The Second Mile, a foundation he established to help at-risk kids. The state grand jury investigation also resulted in perjury charges against Tim Curley, Penn State's athletic director, and Gary Schultz, vice president for finance and business. The two administrators were accused of failing to alert police — as required by state law — of their investigation of the allegations.

"This is a case about a sexual predator who used his position within the university and community to repeatedly prey on young boys," state Attorney General Linda Kelly said Saturday in a statement.
Paterno, who last week became the winningest coach in Division I football, wasn't charged, and the grand jury report didn't appear to implicate him in wrongdoing.

Under Paterno's four-decades-and-counting stewardship, the Nittany Lions became a bedrock in the college game, and fans packed the stadium in State College, a campus town routinely ranked among America's best places to live and nicknamed Happy Valley. Paterno's teams were revered both for winning games — including two national championships — and largely steering clear of trouble. Sandusky, whose defenses were usually anchored by tough-guy linebackers — hence the moniker "Linebacker U" — spent three decades at the school. The charges against him cover the period from 1994 to 2009.

Sandusky, 67, was arrested Saturday and released on $100,000 bail after being arraigned on 40 criminal counts. Curley, 57, and Schultz, 62, were expected to turn themselves in on Monday in Harrisburg.

The allegations against Sandusky, who started The Second Mile in 1977, range from sexual advances to touching to oral and anal sex. The young men testified before a state grand jury that they were in their early teens when some of the abuse occurred; there is evidence even younger children may have been victimized. Sandusky's attorney Joe Amendola said his client has been aware of the accusations for about three years and has maintained his innocence.

"He's shaky, as you can expect," Amendola told WJAC-TV after Sandusky was arraigned. "Being 67 years old, never having faced criminal charges in his life and having the distinguished career that he's had, these are very serious allegations."

A preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday would likely be delayed, Amendola said. Sandusky is charged with multiple counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of a child, indecent assault and unlawful contact with a minor, as well as single counts of aggravated indecent assault and attempted indecent assault.

No one answered a knock at the door Saturday at Sandusky's modest, two-story brick home at the end of a dead-end road in State College. A man who answered the door at The Second Mile office in State College declined to give his name and said the organization had no comment.

The grand jury said eight boys were targets of sexual advances or assaults by Sandusky. None was named, and in at least one case, the jury said the child's identity remains unknown to authorities.

For slightly over a decade, human trafficking has eclipsed drugs as the world’s most profitable illegal business. Yet, it rarely attracts media attention save for a few dramatic cases when women are sold into prostitution rings and children forced into equally illegal activities.

According to reports from Mexico alone, human trafficking last year accounted for a whopping $6.6 billion. Furthermore, conservative estimates indicated that over 100,000 women were trafficked out of Latin America annually for the purpose of prostitution, mostly to the United States.

Addressing Police Chiefs from the East African Community (EAC) partner states early this month, the EAC Deputy Secretary General in charge of political federation, Ms Beatrice Kiraso, warned that East Africa “was fast becoming a transit route for human trafficking and drugs” and called for concerted regional efforts to combat the two rising crimes.

Ms Kiraso, and indeed any government, has every reason to worry about the two global social pandemics. Human trafficking is the equivalent of modern day slavery while drugs chain mostly the youths to health-wrecking addiction and dependency on narcotics simply because someone somewhere makes ill gotten profit.
