Not literally. I was at <a href="http://www.plowhaus.org">The Plowhaus</a> this morning painting one of the walls in preparation for the opening of the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/event.php?eid=126472574757&ref=mf">Black & White Exhibit</a>! I got paint everywhere; my hair included. It has been over a year since I last exhibited and a lot has changed since then. I am just over the moon excited about this show and everyone who is planning on coming out! Within the last 7 days, I have made a number of new jewelry pieces, redesigned my <a href="http://www.lisareedpreston.com">website</a>, and created a new <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=7921490">Etsy</a> page! <br /><br />In addition, I have dropped off a number of my paintings and drawings as well as some jewelry pieces to <a href="http://www.plowhaus.org/news.htm">The Plowhaus</a> in the Arcade for the September show which opens THIS SATURDAY! The opening is part of the monthly First Saturday Gallery Crawl in downtown Nashville. I hope you can make it out to support the local art scene. I have lived a million lives. With that kind of experience, I have had the amazing privilege to see some of the most beautiful things in the world. Beauty is what drives me. Not just perfect beauty, but also the beauty in imperfection. It is that which inspires me to create works of art. <br /><br />I have been drawing all my life as a hobby but was far too practical to try to make it a career until now! Over the last few years, I have really started to develop my drawing and painting skills to a point where I am truly happy with the results. Never one to rest on my laurels, I was looking for a new challenge two weeks ago and found just what I was looking for in jewelry making!<br /><br />The image above was one of the first pieces I made. I am very excited about this new venture and thought since this is literally the inception of this venture that it might be fun to take you along!
