ONandOnScreen is poems + videos. Here videos are linked with poems and poems with videos in a shared space, widening the spectrum and essential strangeness of each. ONandOnScreen is that conversation between moving words and moving images, on and on.

The Iowa Review is an American literary magazine that publishes fiction, poetry, essays, and reviews. The magazine--currently in its 42nd year--is published in April, August, and December of each year. We look for the best writing available and are often pleased to introduce new writers. We also sponsor The Iowa Review Awards, an annual contest in our three main genres of fiction, poetry, and nonfiction.

The Knotted Beard Review, was designed to bring together a group of intellects looking to share good classic reads and stimulating discussions. The website has been set-up to simulate the same Parisian cafe atmosphere of the 1920's - as experienced by our expatriate forefathers, which included the likes of Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, E.M. Forster and T.S. Eliot. KBR Members, are welcome to read and discuss a classic book a month

OF ZOOS is a new electronic literary journal by Singaporeans for Singaporeans, and everyone else. We publish poetry and its sub-branches. OF ZOOS loves literature and art; invention and tradition; artificiality and verisimilitude; outrageousness and subtlety; tenderness and the sublime. We adore paradox, the courageous metaphor, experimental voices, and most of all, we love the fact that we love to write and read. We encourage Singaporean sensibilities not limited to Singapore, if that makes any sense. We especially encourage young, new, unpublished, ‘in the closet’ Singaporean writers. We welcome non-Singaporeans.

"A collection of contemporary literature informed by history and older art, 21st century science and philosophy, and the ending of print culture. An elegiac perspective, uninterested in banality, anti-art, anti-intellectualism, and eclecticism for eclecticism’s sake. An argument that the finest works of contemporary art are systems balanced at the edge of chaos, poised at the highest points of equilibrium between complexity and clarity, between Dionysian and Apollonian forces, and that such works, eschewing empty invocation of the traditional supernatural, are nonetheless haunted by a recognition of the uncanny and transcendental. An electronic collection until sufficient material for a print version accumulates."

We particularly welcome the work of new and emerging writers. In the recent Best American Short Stories, of the top "100 distinguished short stories," six appeared in Glimmer Train Stories, second only to the New Yorker. We are pleased to say that, of those six, two were those authors' first stories accepted for publication.

The Resurrectionist is a biannual poetry journal dedicated to modern formalist poetry. By modern we intend poetry that makes use of contemporary language and grammar, experiments with verse forms or that handles contemporary themes. 'Resurrectionist' (syn. 'Resurrection-man') is a 19th century English term for a body-snatcher whose main purpose was the resale of body parts to anatomy schools and researchers in the medical field. The application of the term for the journal is metaphoric and in direct retort to the openly stated assumption that formal verse (or metrical poetry) is a dead and/or no longer relevant art.

Tradition means something more than just doing the same things that people before you did with slight variations. Tradition provides a set of conventions and a set of expectations, and all of these can be reinterpreted and remolded and put to new uses. At Steel Toe Review, we strive to find literary and multimedia art that challenges and re-invents traditions. Birmingham, Alabama is a natural home for such work. Anyone with knowledge of Birmingham's history knows that it is in many ways not at all a traditional Southern city, and yet it has stubbornly held onto Southern traditions perhaps more than any other comparable city.
