i'm madly getting ready for renegade holiday sale in chicago, dec 5 & 6th! this is my first big craft show and i'm really excited about it!

"look like a fierce cowboy h." and this is his response. this pic was taken by my iphone, which i'm totally in love with but mostly for the camera apps. this one was taken by "old camera". another nice app is "toy camera". i would throw out the links but are my husband and i the only ones who think the apple store has a really crappy interface? happy monday!

use card catalogs in the library. do you remember these "relics"? i love the little cards, the tiny, long and skinny drawers and feeling like i was a detective gathering clues to solve a mystery...

with all the technology around it would be such a pity to loose the physical space of a library, the quietness, the energy a stack of books exudes, all that knowledge in one space, its powerful. i know you can now put an entire library on a nanochip the size of a postage stamp but it just isn't the same thing...

these are proof that with a little creativity any object can be turned into an interesting "objet d'art"

toilet paper rolls! who would have thunk it? i must admit there is something that i see as unsanitary about used toilet paper rolls but i can hear my readers now "get over it". these are by artist anastassia elias via cafe cartolina

on quite a different note, i wanted to throw a note in here about my lack of blog entries and thus my blog sucking lately. if you noticed, well, i've noticed too. its what's happening to us all ...busy summer, kids want to go out side, park, etc., now pre-school for h., o. wants to live outside and freaks when i sit at the computer, evening comes and dinner, baths and hubby is hogging the computer = no significant computer time. hopefully, i can carve out more time in the future for this little space in the world that gives me such joy....

artist beth lo sculpts child-like human figures out of clay. i'm especially drawn to these wall hangings with the quotation bubbles above their heads. she is a visiting artist at one of the local colleges and i plan on going to her "talk". it has been years since i've been to one of these. time to dust off the brain cells and become involved again!

i love this one in its simplicity.
