Hello, dear readers!

Hope all of you are doing well? This week was a bit crazy, but also filled with lots of fun activities such as strawberry picking, shopping for a gift (well, my friend and I got stuff, but nothing for the birthday kid, ha!), organizing our place, swimming for Sofia, etc. It's been fun, but I am so ready for the weekend.

This weekend though is going to be a great one for you, as I am having a sale in my shop.

Hello, my dear readers!

All my apologies to you that it has taken me ages to get back to you. A lot of things have happened that I will gladly share with you the next couple of days.

But how have you been? I hope it is just as sunny as it is over here and that your days may be filled with lots of fun activities and laughter.

Sofia's birthday Part 2 - Food, food, food and Shaun the Sheep.

Sofia really likes Shaun the Sheep, so we came up with a party for her that was loosely based on this little quirky guy.

We had to split the party due to space limitations. On her actual birthday we had friends and family over, and a week later she had her party with her little friends - all age 3.

Let me tell you one thing, this is fun. A lot of fun.

I decided it would be fun to get the party started with a small activity.

I cut out Shaun, put him along with an empty toilet paper roll and some cotton balls on a paper plate.

What all the kids had to do really was to glue it all together with some cotton here and there to get the sheep's fur.

As usual, it was the moms finishing the project. And you know, that's fine. The kids "warmed up" and ended up playing, surprisingly peacefully, in Sofia's room. And us grown ups? We ate, of course.

And here the food.

The crowning moment was the Shaun the Sheep cake. My husband actually made him by hand!

Sofia's 3rd birthday Part 1

March is already here, and I haven't even been able to fully digest February. Sigh.
This was a big month for all of us, but more on that later.

First, I would like to share a few pictures of Sofia's third birthday.
(Honestly, it kind of hurts to see her grow up so fast. I spent the morning of her birthday in pure silence, looking out of the window, wondering where time has gone. And why it seems to fly so fast.)

Sofia had the time of her life, though. She now hit the age where the meaning of her special day becomes more understandable. She would sing Happy Birthday to you to herself all day long. She would also wait for the grown up guests to arrive. Not to forget the presents. She knew they were on top of our closet and now the time had come to finally open them. Yes!

The morning was spent with opening presents and trust me, she loved them all!

Our families spoiled that girl once again. My MIL sent us yet another big package with super cute clothes from the States, my parents bought her a doll bed with two stuffed cars to cuddle with. My aunt gave us money and we decided to buy a backpack for kindergarten. Last but not least, she good a wooden police station, two construction games, books, and cars.

I will show more pictures of her party later! We actually had to split the party in two due to space limitations!

We keep Valentine's Day pretty low-key at our place, but I decided to bake a few heart-shaped sugar cookies with Sofia. She got so excited and did a pretty good job with cutting out the little hearts. And, of course, got mad at me for helping her. (I must admit I am not really looking forward to the pre-teen phase at all).

Anyway, we all went downtown to run some errands and ended up trying another Turkish place, which to my taste was pretty good. (I think that I should start a Top 10 list with all my favorite Doener-places here in Hamburg, just in case you ever come to visit and feel like eating something typical Hamburg, I mean, not really.)

I just want to dedicate this day to my dear family. I love them so dearly.

Still alive.

Oh, my dear readers!
It's been a while. How I have missed my blog and you! Sorry about the silence from my part, but we were super duper sick the past two weeks. I am talking stay-in-bed-for-days-with-an-aching-body-and-fever sick. It was miserable, but all things pass and so did this and I am back!

I did have the chance though to finally finish my very first sewn blanket for Sofia. Yes, I know. That has also taken way too long, but I am happy that I got it done. I now know what to avoid, what to do better. It was great fun (but I do admit there have been moments of pure frustration. Luckily, I have a friend who sews like a crazy woman so she helped whenever help was needed!)

Here it is (ok, let's not look at it in detail. And - not so much at all the wrinkles).

Singing Birthday Party.

A friend of mine and I are in charge of putting together a baby shower for 6 women. Yes, you read it right. 6 Women! The lucky bunch got pregnant around the same time, so that we decided to throw one big party. As for now, I am in the mood for inspiration and found this cute birthday party that could easily work as a "nesting" birthday party. Look at the images. Breath-taking indeed.

I adore the color palette of bright red/ice blue/ and white.

I seriously need to place an order over at Bake it Pretty to get those paper straws. Sigh.

I came across MING MAKES CUPCAKES today and need to share it with all you lovers of sweets, admirers of beautiful cupcake photography, and collectors of recipes.

Sigh.

I want to try them all. They all look amazingly delicious. And doable when it comes to baking them for yourselves.

But behold, there is more.

My family and I had way too much sugar these days. You know the feeling of sugar-related headaches? Yes, exactly. Too. much. sugar.
