Making Money Online Is Not A Myth

I’m getting fed up of the question, asked by friends and strangers alike, of whether making money online is a realistic possibility. Of course it is, otherwise why would I be writing this blog? I don’t take several hours out of each and every day to write posts about something that doesn’t exist.

People have this strange idea that because they can’t touch or feel the internet it somehow is not as real as the high street. Some people don’t understand the concept of making money online and, even if they understand the concept, choose to believe that all the ‘supposed opportunities’ are scams.

This also annoys me: if every make money opportunity was a scam, then they wouldn’t be so popular, would they?

Sorry for the rant, but it really has started to annoy me recently. Particularly annoying is when my friends stand there in the house I bought with money made on the internet, drinking the drink bought with money made on the internet, sitting on the sofas bought with money made on the internet (in fact, they were also bought on the internet!) and question how easy it is for people to make money…on the internet!

As if, at this point, it isn’t self-evident. Time and time again I tell them to look around at everything I own and point out that it was bought using money I made online. Yet time and time again they will sit there and let some pessimistic instinct take over that tells them everything is a scam. Well, here’s the best advice I’ll ever give to you: be cautious about scams, but be open when it comes to new ideas. If you’re too critical, you’ll miss some fantastic opportunities.

My Top Earner and my Little Earners do at times sound too good to be true, but they’re honestly not. So you can either sit there and laugh at the people ‘gullible’ enough to believe the claims made here, or you can sit there and laugh at the people stupid enough to pass up such a great opportunity. I guess either way you’re getting laughed at, but I know I’d take being ‘gullible’, but rich, over ‘sensible’ and poor any day!

How the Internet can Change…

The internet market is a strange place; things are popular one day, and ruinous the next. You can be securely making an absolute killing of one revenue stream for six months and then, seemingly out of the blue, it will dry up. Like the barren tundra of the moon, it will be an economic wasteland. This is why only having one revenue stream can be so dangerous, because it may take a week or two to make a particular revenue stream profitable again. During this time you still have bills to pay and you need to continue to grow, so it’s important you have alternatives lined up.

For example, our Top Earner gives you the opportunity to make the most money at any one time, but there will come a time when you may have to change the way in which you work it. This is why it’s a good idea to check out the other Little Earners to make sure you have enough going on to cover you for slow periods.

This, of course, is not meant to discourage you from pursuing any one revenue stream, because although it may stop in the future you can still make a lot of money of it while it works. Besides, when it does stop, all you have to do is tweak it slightly and chances are it will fire back into life. This is the beauty of the internet: when one door closes, another 100 open.

Be cautious when it comes to choosing what you invest your money in, but don’t be too disheartened if something stops working. It happens to everyone. You just need to focus and get things back on track.

Share Your Skills and Make Money From Home

If you’ve got a particular skill area, whatever it may be, why don’t you share it with the World?

One of the many ways to make online is to publish a web book that provides people with an opportunity to learn something new. You can write a web book if you’ve got a particular skill area; such as cooking, puzzle-solving, art, crafts, gambling, eating, anything at all.

All you need to do is to put your skill down in writing, which is much easier to do than you think. The trick is to just start writing, forget about thinking too hard and let the words flow like a river. Your words will illuminate the path for people to follow in your footsteps, so have a little reread after you’ve written a paragraph to make sure it makes sense. This is because sometimes when you write too quickly and too intuitively you’re writing can be incomprehensible, which is obviously going to prevent it from being as useful as it otherwise could be. However, this doesn’t contradict what I said earlier, I still advocate just writing without too much pre-planning at the beginning just to help kickstart the book. You may want to start planning a short while into it however, just to make sure that it’ll make sense in the end.

If you get ideas (you usually get brainwaves just before you get to sleep or when you’re on the toilet) then jot them down quickly on a notepad, so always have one handy.

When your book is finished you can either publish it as a paper copy or you can publish it as an e-book. Self publishing an e-book is way cheaper and with the advent of devices like Amazon’s kindle and the reading apps available on most smart phones it can reach a huge number of people.

Publishing an e-book can be incredibly lucrative, so if you’ve got an idea, put pen to paper – ahem, finger to keyboard – and see what happens. Why paid online surveys are perfect for you!

If there’s one thing some people like more than anything else on the internet, it is the opportunity to say something anonymously. You can make your opinions known and engage in a heated debate about who’s right and who’s wrong. If you’re the kind that likes to make your opinions known, or if you just want to make some extra cash, try out paid online surveys!

Paid online surveys do what they say on the tin; they get you to complete surveys for a small cash sum. You can usually complete a few a day and earn enough to supplement your own income nicely. Best of all, however, is that you can give your honest opinion on products.

How it works:

The company gives you a survey on its products or services, which you then complete and return to the company. The survey usually consists of questions relating to all aspects of its product or service and can be quite lengthy at times. In all honesty, surveys aren’t the kind of thing you can do to make a proper income, but you can make a nice BONUS income off them. In fact, you can make a very, very nice bonus income off them, particularly considering how quickly you can do them. Paid to Play Games!

A new make money opportunity or a new way to lose your money?

Ok, so it’s not that new, but it’s new to Little Earner. Although I’ve heard of Paid to Play Games before, it wasn’t something I really took an interest in. However, I was doing some research for a new post and came across it again, so I dug a little deeper. It’s not going to make you a lot of money, but when you work at home you need some time to relax during the day. Why not relax by playing games online? Oh, and while you’re at it, why not get paid for it? It’s the best of both worlds: get paid when you’re working and get paid when you’re playin’!

It’s an attractive prospect isn’t it? But, as the unfortunate case with some things, there are prospects that just don’t live up to expectations, so here’s an honest review of how good paid to play games really are:

How does it work?

To secure new members, some gaming sites will offer gift cards or cash to members that sign up and play their games or try out brand new games. It’s not a huge amount, but it can be worth doing if you were planning having a little gaming break anyway.

Most of the time you’ll be testing out beta versions of the games and it can take a bit of getting used to. There will be bugs in the game, so you may get a little frustrated. Nevertheless, it’s just as easy to get addicted to a game you’re testing, so be warned, you might end up spending a little more time than planned testing out these games.

The Problems!

Aside from the aforementioned addictive gameplay problem, it’s difficult to find a reliable site that pays to play. I was directed to a supposedly good site, but it was shutdown before I could sign up – it turned out that although their pay to play offers were good, their games weren’t so good and they didn’t sell many!

Many of the sites are unreliable scams that end up charging you instead of paying you.Most of the sites I tried to find were not very useful at all in helping me to discover a way to make money online paying games.

However, there are agencies you can sign up to, if you search ‘Paid to play games’ in Google you’ll be given a wide selection of games to choose from.

So, should you investigate paid to play any further?

Although there are undoubtedly opportunities that exist for you to get paid to play online, there are many, many unreliable sites that will end up charging you money rather than making you money.

If you’re still interested, by all means research it and you could very well make a killing off it. But if you do so, make sure you research your chosen site carefully and don’t provide them with any credit card details (I’ve heard reports of these sites asking for credit card details and then charging you £30/$45 a month)

They Say That Nothing Ever Comes Easy

But it does…

Although working from home on the internet can be demanding at times, it is generally an easy job to have. Once you’ve learned all there is to know about making money online, then it’s relatively plain sailing. So easy, in fact, that you can take 70% of your working day off lounging around and still earn upwards of £100 a day for 7 days a week (the earning potential really is unlimited!).

Does that sound good to you?

Of course it does! The only problem is that people think it sounds too good to be true: ‘How can something so lucrative be so easy?’ is a question I get asked all the time!

The problem with being human is that people are inherently pessimistic: there has to be some catch, there has to be some problem and, most of all, making money has to be really, really hard.

Yes, there are very small risks because you have to spend a small sum on buying the adspace or hosting your website. But this sum is by no means expensive. In fact, you probably spend more than it on a night out. The only difference, of course, is that you can make money back from the money you spend here. It’s an investment – and one that can pay handsomely if you give it half a chance.

Holidays are Coming…

So, a new Christmas is almost upon us; the jolly time of year when consumerism reigns supreme. This, of course, benefits work-from-homers and people who work online and sell products, because it can help make you a lot of money.

I know one of my earlier posts points out the negatives of Christmas, but given that predictions hope that nearly £8 billion will be spent by online shoppers.

But regardless of how unrealistic it may sound, it shows that people are tending to spend more online these days. As a self-employed work-from-homer or a small business, you can utilise this to your advantage and make an absolute killing over christmas!

The Benefits of Being Self-Employed

Surprisingly, despite writing a blog on how to make money online, I don’t think I’ve written a post on the benefits of being self-employed.This may be because the benefits are so obvious to me after being self-employed for so long, but if you’re thinking about becoming self-employed for the first time let me share with you what I believe to be the best perks of the job:

Not taking anyone else’s rubbish. You will from time to time make a mistake, but rather than having an angry, obnoxious boss breath down your neck, you tend to self-analyse. You’ll pick out why you made the mistake and then, hopefully, not make it again. Not only that, you won’t have your boss taking advantage of you as an employee. How many times have you been asked by your boss to do something not work-related and felt obliged to do so for fear of harming your promotion prospects if you didn’t oblige?
Knowing that you’re not being underpaid. You may make a million, or you may not, but either way you keep all of your profits. Everything you work so hard for you get to keep. The satisfaction of making your own money is truly unparalleled.
Flexible working hours. You work when you want to work. Though, if you’re anything like me, you’ll probably end up working more than if you were employed by someone else. The difference is, of course, that I work so many hours because I enjoy what I do. It’s like an addiction for me, once I pop I can’t stop.
You get to work from home. Getting to work from home can be either a bonus or a bogey. It depends on how easily you distracted you are! I’m distracted fairly easy and I often have a few television breaks, though I do make up for it by working for longer. If you have children, a family, a pet or if you like the comfort of your own home, working from there can be a huge bonus.

The only negative about working from home is that you do not get the interaction with colleagues on a daily basis and it can get lonesome. You can, however, make up for this by leading an active social life outside of work. I’ll post about how to lead an active social life when your self-employed tomorrow!

Fraud and Your Business: Minimise the Risks

Fraud can be destructive for anyone, but it can be particularly devastating for those whose personal and business bank accounts are in the same name. This is because identity theft will jeopardise not only their personal finances, but also their income. So, following from this, how can you protect yourself against them menace of identity theft?

Keep all your personal information safe by regulating who sees it. Be cautious when it comes to disposing of personal information by shredding everything with personal details and making sure that valuable post is not being delivered to an old address.
Keep on top of your financial status by signing up to a credit reference agency, like Experian or the Credit Expert. These help you to see exactly what credit you’ve applied for, as well as giving you useful information on your credit rating.
Many people are unaware that companies and directors are just as susceptible to fraud. Limited companies must be on their guard against criminals who update confidential company information without authorisation. Search Companies House Fraud Prevention on Google to find out more about how you can protect your company.

The key to fraud prevention is to not reveal any useful information to anyone and to make sure that personal information remains personal. Remember, you are more susceptible to identity theft if you have had any personal documents stolen or lost (passport, driving licence, etc.), if you aren’t receiving mail you should be, if you get rejected for credit despite having a good credit history or if you get calls from debt collectors or financial institutions for debt that is not yours.

Hopefully you’ll never becom the victim of identity fraud, but just hoping isn’t good enough to prevent it. You have to actively make it hard for people to steal from you.
