Weather permitting, the pool will be open for this final weekend, closing for the year at 6 PM on Sunday.  Strong arms and bodies needed to help on Sunday to pull the cover over the pool.

2012 is coming fast!  Only about 260 days til the pool opens for the 2012 season!  Look for emails and mailings in the coming months about next season.  If you are a Full Member (not Associate), please considering running for the Board; please contact Judy Butler at butler.lucas@verizon.net

Labor Day Potluck Picnic!

Monday, 9/5, is the final holiday picnic this season; members, guests, and end-of-season guests are welcome to attend. The pool will provide hamburgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs and drinks. Members/guests provide side dishes and desserts; please provide enough for at least 6-10! You can never bring too much!!  If your last name being with

  • A – M: bring a side dish.
  • N – Z:  bring a dessert.

Volunteers (please help!) -  meet by the grill at 11:30 a.m..
Rafts will be allowed in the pool from 12 – 1 p.m.
Picnic will start at around 12:30 p.m. depending on how many volunteers help out

New Happy Hour on Friday, 9/9!  Adults only

  • 6:30 pm – ?? whenever the keg runs out!
  • Pool will close at 6pm
  • $10 per person, pay at the event
  • Beer, wine and light hors d’oeuvres

LFSC Welcomes End-of-Season Guests starting August 1.  EOS guests have unlimited use of the pool until we close for the season on Sunday, Sept 11.  Please join us for the Labor Day Potluck Picnic on Sept 5 (more details will be posted on this website as date nears)

Extended Early Bird swimming  starts 8/1– Join other early risers for a full 2 hours of early lap swimming–6:30-8:30am!

Daily Water Aerobics with Caitey Leaman–Newcomers welcome.  Starts at 7am, daily.  Cost of $5/per class.  Bring your own belt, barbells.

Baby pool closed for repairs; hope to have repairs completed and pool open on Thursday, July 14.
Earlybird lap swimming will run until 8:30 am on Monday, July 18 (no swim practice).  In August, Earlybird runs from 6:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. every week day.

As of last Monday, the bridge to the parking lot is open to vehicles and pedestrians.  We appreciate everyone’s patience while we dealt with the tree and follow-up inspection.

The tree is finally clear from the bridge to the pool parking lot, HOWEVER, once the tree was removed we saw damage that needs to be inspected by an expert before vehicles can safely use the bridge.  We hope to have the inspection completed this weekend; meanwhile, the bridge is open to pedestrians only.  We realize its a huge inconvenience and are working to get the bridge open asap.  Also, thank you for the offers to help clear the tree, but because of the size of the tree and potential for damage to the bridge we needed experts with proper equipment (e.g., crane).

Fallen tree is blocking the bridge to the parking lot,  as a result there is NO access across the bridge into the pool parking lot. Until the tree is removed, please WALK to the pool.  This is especially important today for dive team participants, since there is a dive meet this afternoon. If you *absolutely* must drive, you can access the parking lot through the adjacent alley – be considerate of the neighbors who live there by driving slowly and gently – and be forewarned: the alley is extremely narrow and does not accommodate two-way traffic. Coming and going, you likely will face another car in the opposite direction – and you will NOT be able to pass. One of you will have to back up, not easily done in this narrow and winding space. 

No hot water. The hot water heater is broken and awaiting a part so showers are cold. Hopefully it will be repaired today or tomorrow.

 Baby Pool CLOSED early next week.   The baby pool will be drained Sunday evening, and work will begin Monday and continue for at least several days, maybe as long as a week.  Sorry for the inconvenience but the repairs could not be put off any longer.
