If you're like most of my friends(both guys & girls), you've developed a love for Pinterest. If you have no clue what I'm talking about you, have seriously missed out!

Pinterest is like all those mood boards and inspiration boards meeting in a technological world. You can "Pin"virtually anything that you see on the internet to a board. These boards can be categorized into different categories of your liking. From fashion to events to DIY, there is plenty of time to be wasted on pinterest. You can opt to follow other peoples boards to see what's inspiring them and repin to add it to your own board for future reference. It's amazing to see what technology is doing everyday for the fashion industry.

It's been a while but it seems like it's time to start it up again. A new year means a new start. This year, I turn 24. I graduated two years ago and have finally decided it is time to grow up and make a name for myself. I plan on saving money and making a large purchase that will be passed on for generations. (Louboutins anyone?) My best friend and I have agreed to learn French and travel to France this summer. I want to continue to grow my fashion library with the hopes of having a very full bookshelf when I move out. Its essential that as I get older, I experience more bold looks make-up wise; I'm no longer a child, I should stop looking like one! Lastly, I want to take a road trip; see how the rest of the United States live and of course, dress!

Can you believe that it's already half way though September? School is in full swing for yall lucky enough to still be enjoying college and for us full time retail people, the Christmas season is rapidly approaching. I'm getting ahead of myself though. The tempertures are still in the 90+ here in Florida and every weekend is spent sweating to death supporting my Seminoles and Jaguars! I am crushing on all things garnet and gold & Black and teal. I love the retro reissue tees from Nike and of course, brogues. For now, I'll just stick to sundresses and sandals for a couple more weeks at the games and search for the perfect jaguar loafers for when the temperature drops. What are your current fall crushes?

Well, Ladies and Gentleman, The season opener of my hometown team is tomorrow night. Football in the South is much more than a game but more like a religion. College and NFL alike, I spend most Saturdays and Sundays in my teams colors ready to cheer them on, win or lose.
To me, just because you're going to a football game does not mean that you should just throw on a t-shirt and jeans and call it a day. Don't give up on your sake of fashion just to fit in with the crowd.
For most college football games, I wear a garnet dress, gold sandals and gold accessories but NFL sundays are a little different.
I plan on rocking the second look come the cooler days of fall. Dark skinnies, white oxford knotted with rolled up sleeves and jaguar flats. Teal accessories will be plentiful.
The last look is something that I will have to try for night games when its still warm during the day but a chill comes in from our river when the sun goes down.

My summer romance was with summer itself; discovering what I want for life and just taking it easy in general. I spent my summer working full time and working an amazing theatre show with an amazing cast that I am so happy to call my friends. As Fall is just around the corner, I'm interested to see what's next for me! Until then, I'll share my summer through photos..a Picture's worth a thousand words!

Summer is here once again for our yearly rendezvous, as Cosmopolitian put it, “Summer is kind of like the ultimate one-night stand: hot as hell, totally thrilling, and gone before you know it.” I'm dreaming of adventures, endless hours at the beach and keeping my life in control. Here's to hoping that Summer 2011 is just as fun as last summer...Summer does never seem to fail me. Let's just hope the whole being an adult thing doesn't get in the way.

It's no secret that I am ALL about preppy clothes. I love all things plaid, seersucker and bright. This dress is all of the above. I found it while I was in Boston and just had to have it. I instantly imagined myself riding on a beach cruiser in this light weight dress with good friends. It's the perfect coverup for the beach and to go straight into the night and the elastic puts the perfect spin on the classic shirt dress. It's going to be my go-to all summer long.

I recently stumbled upon a company called The Giving Keys on my most recent trip to Nashville. The whole concept behind the company is the Pay it Forward philosophy. Each key has a word on it that is a reminder of something that you should be mindful in your life. (mine says strength) When you find someone that needs to be reminded of that word more than you, you give it away to them.

I wore mine on Easter!

The keys are available online (with customization!) or in boutiques and help support a homeless couple in Los Angeles.

Old Friends, New Beginnings

Last weekend, I made a road trip down to south Florida to see an old friend get married.We've all been friends since we were 12 and attended middle and high school together at the local art school. It was such a beautiful thing to get to share the most important day of Shannon's life with her. She's getting ready to deploy overseas and doesn't even get to go on her honeymoon.

It was nice to goof off with some old friends and know that despite the time and distance, we're all still goofy 12 year olds deep down despite the fact that Ashley is engaged and will be at her own wedding soon.

The weather was really warm so we all wore one shoulder sundresses in various formality. Shannon wore a gorgeous lace mermaid dress and switched to a short, more dance worthy dress for the reception. Everyone was beautiful as always and it was nice to share a new beginning with old friends. I can't wait for the many more to come.

Wedding season is upon us! Just next weekend, I will be heading to South Florida to see an old friend get married on the beach at sunset. It's sure to be a fabulous event. Its often confusing to figure out how to translate those dress codes into real world attire.

The semiformal look can be dressed up or dressed down. This dress is simple but the accessories are what make it. This look is classic with pearls and black pumps. The focus is on the bow and hair flower. Play up the classic look with some accessories from your grandmother's jewelry box.

The next look is a little more rocker than the previous look. A hot pink one shoulder look will make you stand out. Play up the rocker look with feather dangle earrings and a studded clutch. This look is best for a wedding that is a little more low-key with not so much described dress code. Its for those who are okay with standing out.

The wedding I'm attending next week is a beach wedding and I plan on wearing something along this line; long floral dress that shows off just the right amount of skin paired with a flat shoe. Flat shoes are essential as trudging through the sand.Trying to walk through sand with heels is a diaster waiting to happen. Stack an arm ful of bangles to keep the look simple but finished.

The last look is the most formal. Think structured dress with simple jewelry and standout heels. This look is about fitting in but keeping it you. Its important to remember that the wedding isn't about you but its about the bride and groom. Its good to stand out but in a limited way.

I am going absolutely crazy. I gave up shopping for lent and it is absolutely killing me. I can't buy anything until Easter which means of course I have a million things I need to buy for. Next weekend is my high school friend's wedding and a graduation soon after. The advantage to all of this is that I get to take things out of my closet that haven't seen the light of day in years. It seems like I may have gained a shopping addiction with my degree in fashion. Who can judge me? I just love clothes..I could be addicted to much worse.

I am all about some preppy looks this spring. I love rocking a pastel short with a button down and boat shoes for a day time look. Its all about the details so add a bow and a bracelet and get on your way. This look would be perfect with a needlepoint belt.

The hardest and best part of being graduated from college is living in separate cities. It always give you an excuse to visit! My best friend Erin is currently living in the great city of Boston. I've never even been that far north and I've only seen the inch of snow that fell in Thomasville, GA last year. We explored the big city visiting the Sam Adams Brewery, Newbury Street and snow covered parks. It was the best six days I've had in a while. Piling on the layers was definitely a challenge especially when all we wanted to do was try on clothes; definitely a shocker when we left 80 degree weather in Florida.

Designer Showcase: Lilly Pulitzer

Spring has sprung here in Florida. Before we know it, we will be knee deep in summer. Until then, lets appreciate the beauty of spring.
Two weeks ago, I was in Delray Beach, Florida and had the opportunity to check out the Fashion museum's exhibit of Lilly Pulitzer. I could have died with all of the vintage Lillys.
The story of Lilly Pulitzer is a sweet one. She was a northern girl who made juice at her husband's grove. The juice would stain her shifts so she decided to make bright punchy shifts that would camouflage the stains. Before long, people as well known as Jackie O were wearing her shifts that started as a simple idea that turned into something amazing.

All of the pieces in the exhibit are vintage but the Lilly name still lives on. The company is celebrating its 50 year this year! This is a line that will be living on the closets of preppy fashionistas for years.

Spring is on its way which means toes are on their way out from hibernation from all your boots. Sally Hansen Nail effects are the perfect way to introduce them to spring. Whether it be your nails or toenails they're the absolute smudgeproof last minute mani/pedi you're looking for before you hit the pool.

I may be the most impatient person that I know and these offer the best solution for my often smudge prone personality. Ten minutes to buff, apply and smooth and I was out the door. Day two of typing and running a cash register and we still have no chips! I have to say...they were way worth the 9.99 price tag. I can't wait to try the Jaguar print for football season and the neons come summer. They compliment the perfect summer tan!

I am mildly obsessed with Land's End Canvas but let me start from the beginning. I've seen the ads in every fashion magazine possible. It had cute clothes but I didn't ever investigate further. Last summer, I remember reading Lauren over at La Petite Fashionista's posts about her internship there yet I still didn't look into it. That brings us to now. I finally looked into it and I was madly in love. It didnt hurt at the time it was an additional 40% off and free shipping. I bought a pair of their apple green 5" shorts and a fine gauge sweater. It was love at first sight. The shorts are the perfect color to be paired with an oxford and boat shoes come a little bit warmer weather and the sweater is the perfect weight to be layered.

Last week, I attended the traveling tour of Legally Blonde the musical. I loved it way more than humanly possible. The music was catchy, the attire was to die for and of course, I swooned at the love story in it all.

I wore this sheer ruffle tank for Romeo and Juliet Couture, tiered Old Navy Lavender skirt and white sweater. The shoes are from everyone's favorite bargain shopping, Target.

It was a fabulous girls night with my momma and I wouldn't have wanted it anyt other way!

It's Friday, I'm in love

T-minus one week exactly until I will be in the winter wonderland of Boston, MA. I'm a Florida girl so I've never seen snow but the two inches it snowed Christmas of 1989. I was a year old so I don't remember it much. So it was perfect timing that Gap marked down all their winter merchandise! I scored this pretty little peacoat for 22.50! I paired it here with the most comfortable gapbody long-sleeve shirt that make layering that much more accessible.

These boots were a bargain this summer too at TJ maxx. Chinese Laundry over the knee boots were at the super clearance section and a steal at 12.50. I couldn't get over how excited I was to wear them. I can't wait to show them off while its actually cold out and maybe I'll incorporate them in my summer wardrobe too.

I also found my collection of thrift store sunglasses while cleaning my room. These oversized aviators are my new go tos. I'm so excited to wear them now.

What fun things do you have planned this weekend? I'm stuck working all weekend but it'll be worth it next weekend when I'm in Boston!

Mark Twain said “New Year’s is a harmless annual institution of no particular use to anybody, save as a scapegoat for promiscuous drunks and friendly calls and humbug resolutions.” I'd have to agree but to me, any excuses to dress up is a good one for me. In the South, we believe that what you do on New Year's is what you'l be doing the rest of the year; So, why not dress to the nines and ring in the new year with some good friends?
The main thing to remember is this is the time celebrate and there's nothing wrong with standing out. Think sparkles, bright colors and stand out silhouettes.

I am a big fan of a little cocktail dress for New Years. The dress doesn't have to elaborate but the accessories should be. There's nothing wrong with sparkly shoes, oversized necklace and a large cocktail ring.

Another option is to be a little more badass babe. Think more unexpected sexy with corsets under tuxedo jackets. Put on a pair of sparkly long earrings and you'll be showing yourself off all night and keeping yourself warm.

Lastly, if you're taking it easy this New Year's eve, don't spend all night in your Pajamas. Wear something equally as comfortable in leggings and oversized sweater.
