Decertification of 33-inch Reebok Vector-TLS Bat

We have been advised that the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has provided official notice that the BBCOR decertification process has been implemented for the Reebok Vector-TLS 33-inch model bat. Effectively immediately and until notified otherwise, this bat (Reebok Vector-TLS 33-inch length) should be considered non-compliant and subject to Junior, Senior, and Big League Baseball Rules 1.10 and 6.06(d). It should be noted that the National Federation of State High School Associations has taken similar action.

Spring is slowly approaching and baseball season is just around the corner. I see many signs being displayed throughout Calgary advertising Little League Baseball registration dates within the different communities. Clinic dates have been completed throughout the country with Windsor, Ontario already completed. With this March newsletter as was in February, I will be concentrating on another infield position, second base. As you read on, you will see there are many responsibilities required to play second base. You need to be a good fielder, but not necessarily possessing a strong arm. It is ideal for a smaller player. As each position is not written to directly, much of this is not covered in the Playing the Game manual.

OTTAWA, ONTARIO: Little League Baseball Canada would like to extend sincerest condolences to the families and friends of Tanner Craswell, Mitch MacLean, and Tabitha Stepple. It is a sad day when we lose three vibrant young lives. The baseball community across Canada mourns the loss of two of its outstanding young men. Little League Baseball Canada offers their thoughts and prayers, so that their families can find strength and courage in the days ahead. Little League Baseball Canada would also like to extend their thoughts to the family of Shayna Conway, and for her full recovery.

One of Canada�s greatest attractions in minor sports is Little League Baseball. It has given our children the opportunity to learn this great game when the first league chartered here in Canada in 1951! The excitement for Little League Baseball Canada for the coming season will not only be to have our children return for another challenging and fun year but to enhance the training of coaches and managers. The 2012 baseball/softball season will continue the three components put in place last year as they were extremely successful and we thank you for that! The Board of Directors is extremely pleased that with these initiatives in place communities, families, managers, coaches, and players will all be winners.
