there's a fire in your heart

2010-11-21T17:39:00.000+10:30

Here is one of my latest photos (I haven't been able to shoot much lately because I've been sooooo busy) - im selling my Olympus e-30 (including the entire kit) DSLR and getting my hands on a Canon EOS 60D :) I've never really had any issues with my Olympus, its only a year old but it just doesn't feel like me so I thought I'd look around and find a connection to something else.

I'm really excited not only for new technology but because change always leads you to the unfamiliar, something I'm always hoping for.

I've also been shooting a bit of film lately (mostly on my golden half) so once I finish the roll of film I will try to get some up here to share.

Hope everyone is enjoying their November so far. I can't believe how close Christmas is... and the end of the 2010 completely, YIKES!!!

I begin by saying:
you were right
When you suggested
I was looking for some feeling
that wasn't to be found
except for in the pages
and poetry of ages
All that teenage fury
I hope you wrote that down

Shaun & Antanika

2010-10-02T10:24:00.000+09:30

I had the pleasure of working on my first engagement photoshoot for couple Shaun & Antanika last weekend. I had originally planned for the shoot to take place at a parklands however when I arrived at their house it just seemed so perfect to shoot in the yard of their very own house and where they have created a beautiful life for themselves.

Here are some of my favourites from the session.

I really had such a great time working on some photography that was different to my norm. Also a great chance to test out my new 25mm 2.8 lens :)

Im on the look out for one after spotting it through a shop window last week and swooning for a good 15mins - They take 35mm film and shoot double frames so you get two vertical shots per exposure.

Definitely a must have for any camera fanatic ^.^

Album Art for Earth to World (Projected Twin)

2010-07-31T17:20:00.001+09:30

As I mentioned in my previous post, a pretty exciting project came about last week. The release of Projected Twin's debut album ' EARTH TO WORLD'. I'd been in collaboration with Shaun Holton of PT for over a year and was lucky enough to be asked to provide the album art for the release as well as some behind the scenes photography.

I attended studio recording sessions and was given complete creative freedom to produce some art that was truly fitting to the mood and music.

The album is available from various online stores (as mp3 release) or you can click here where you'll be able to:

a) Buy an autographed copy of the limited edition Earth To World CD Digi-Pack, complete with full color art/lyrics/credits booklet.

b) Make a donation of your choice and download the album as MP3s

or,

c) Download the entire album completely FREE of charge

The album is truly a masterpiece. I've listed to it so many times and am truly captivated.

Please support PROJECTED TWIN and share the link around :)

my weekend has been...different. I've spent alot of time reflecting on the year so far and planning for the rest. I have some plans to get things off the ground creatively (as I've taken a bit of a break from collaborative work) and will be working with some naturally gorgeous models over the next couple of months. I think people forget to create for themselves sometimes and forget to draw inspiration from the familiar things in life.

Pretty exciting project came about earlier this week so i will be posting more once I've got some images to share ^.^

Not much to leave you with for now so here's some of my latest work from over at my flickr

"we don't read and write poetry because it's cute. we read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. and the human race is filled with passion. and medicine, law, business, engineering - these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. but poetry, beauty, romance, love - these are what we stay alive for."
