Words of wisdom from my diary this morning..

Last day today, lunch and handovers, a long day, but I needed to bring this stage to an end.

I don’t yet know the next step. Sleep, relax, take care of myself for a change.

Then get back into it. Fresh again.

Don’t do it! Pinot noir should be from NZ, or Canberra. Or the Victorian highlands. Oh or Tassie.

Not Cessnock. Seriously.

Covered in raindrops.

Three days before xmas, I took a tumble at the station. Down some stairs. Mangled my foot enough to get xrays the next day at the local hospital. It wasn’t broken, and as of yesterday I was back on the elliptical, working my way back to running.

All going well until I got off the elliptical. Tripped on a barbell. Just a bruise on top of my foot from that. Fine.

Then I go home, to muck around online, watch a little tv.

And I mangle my ring toe.

Stubbed it on the couch, didn’t I? Grr.

No high heels for awhile. Or running :(

Where was I?

My netbook finally was put to rest. After 6 trips to the doctor’s they finally deemed it irrepairable. And I am now charged with $550 in JB Hi Fi vouchers to put towards a new computer / laptop / netbook / tablet / back catalog of Hit Machine cds.

Which is to say, I’ve been computerless since early December.

And I’m taking my time in choosing the replacement.

Part of my is leaning towards something SHINY, like the Samsung Galaxy Tab with 3G and all the bells and whistles.

Another part of me just wants to get the cheapest netbook around.

So, advice is welcome.

Since then, we’ve of course had Xmas.
I passed uni.
New Year.
Visits to Newcastle.
One to Canberra.

Lots of love, laughter and lunches.

Lots of photos to catch up on.

But you’re not getting them just yet.

Another year has gone. That makes 14 years since watching the Xmas lights, getting bitten by mozzies, and curling up together at Brian’s.

14 years. A huge year again this year. Different cities. Awesome highs and hellish lows. Lots to take on, to end. Moving. Growing up (???). Growing together. While apart. Sharing so much. Even if by text, email, weekly recaps or occasional MMS. It’s been tough, but we’re still so strong.

We’re still growing together.

Bubbly on arrival? I’m your girl!

Twas a miserable Sydney evening. Rain, scary on the roads, rocky on the Ferry, but somehow the five of us made it to Moo at Manly to try some of their awesome burgers.

Somehow I made it there about 6:45pm, for a 6pm start! I JUST missed the ferry that would have gotten me to Manly at six. It wasn’t to be.

To start was chips, and the Wagyu burger. Mine on the gluten free bun. (17 of their 20 burgers can be done gluten free!!) Us girls trying to figure out how much to eat to have room for the rest! The onions were sweet, the patties devine!!!!

The others had some Moo Pale Ales ($8.50) with their burgers. I stuck with the bubbles ;)

Then arrived a selection of milkshake samples. I drank this one, the Cow in Mud – because it was Baylies and Frangelico and other awesome cocktail ingredients ;) Yes, I paid for it later!!!

Then came the roo burger, which an American friend had tried and recommended the other weekend. It was nice, but I concentrated on the yummy beetroot relish and the pattie as I was sooooo full at this point!

A dessert of ‘Mookies’ was brought out… with gooey dark and white chocolate, baked on the day. The other girls shared one and we all took some home. I met a friend for drinks on the way home and he was happy with my cookie offerings!

Caught up with a friend for a simple dinner in Newtown.

Relaxed, and easy.

I do love a catch up over a nice meal and wines with friends when I head back to Newcastle. This one was at Aquazul in the Honeysuckle precinct.

(Yes this was so long ago I have no idea what we ate!)

Ahh here we go. For some reason I was silly enough to say “yes” to the idea of having only juices for three days straight. All in the name of blogging, I swear!

What I got each morning

(forgive that I seem to have lost a few juice pics along the way!)

Six rather large bottles of juice or soup arrived in a little esky. So much there, I wasn’t going to starve!

Breakfast each day was a Schkinny Leap frog. It had kiwi, which I shouldn’t really have drunk, but hey, I’m still here despite tingling lips!

Tomato and lentil soup for lunch. Quite filling!

The Best Bits

• Not having to think about what to eat for three days.
• The ginger!!!!
• Getting off coffee for a few days, but still being awake in the mornings!
• The pumpkin soup was yum! Actually, all the dinner soups were :)

The not-so best bits

• The evening drink. Couldn’t get into it. But then, I wasn’t that hungry so it didn’t bother me. I’ll use it on oats this week
• All the plastic bottles! Yes, into the recycling, but still…
• The same lunch 3 days in a row. Maybe I’m normally that boring anyway (tuna and rice cakes ftw!) It was yum though!
• Going to the loo. Lots!

I know some people use those sorts of juice diets to lose weight, but I don’t think you really can if you have most of the juice! (I was back to my low weight for the year, same as Oct 25, at the end, but we’ll see if that motivates me to keep going!!) Not to worry, I’m sure my body is relieved to have a little change in routine, and a break from the sneaky mentos. The low fruit menu looks quite appealing.

At the price, I’m not sure it’s something I’d purchase myself, but I can see sooo many advantages. No way I could motivate myself to prepare that much fruit and veg in a day!

This stuff is HEAVEN.

I tried some samples sent to me of blueberry, mango, passionfruit and one more. And they were so creamy and awesome.
