Hello Mommies,

I am a fellow member of the Mommies Network and the creator of a new website called

Podanize, which helps moms, dads and group leaders better organize their kids'

group activities (e.g. soccer, scouts, school classes, etc.)

Kids today are overscheduled, and keeping up is a challenge:

• What day did I volunteer at school to go read with the kids?

• Who is driving to the scout meeting?

• When am I signed up to bring the team's snacks?

These are just a few of the many little details that busy parents have to keep straight.

Try as we might, something inevitably falls through the cracks. We all need a little help

to stay organized.

I’d like to invite you to join our brand new website. To join, just go to http://

even just your family for now. You can create a Pod if you’re a group leader or a group

member. It’s quick, easy and free. Then "get your Pod going" by adding discussions

Our mission at Podanize is to help ease the stress that comes with keeping our

Menu Monday - Garlic Parmesan Ravioli

This quick, easy, budget-friendly dinner will be a big hit for dinner.

You will need a 24 ounce bag of frozen cheese ravioli, 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil, 3 garlic cloves minced, Kosher salt, and pepper, parsley - to taste, and grated Parmesan cheese.

Cook ravioli per instructions on the package. Before you drain them reserve 1/4 cup of the water they were cooked in. While the ravioli are cooking combine EVOO, garlic, salt, pepper, and parsley in a skillet. Cool on medium-low until the garlic is golden in color. Add the ravioli with the reserved water to the skillet with the oil and heat through.

Divide onto plates for serving and top with the Parmesan cheese.

Your whole family will love it!

*This meal will cost around $4 for 4 servings if you already have EVOO, Kosher salt, pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese on hand. The bag of ravioli is around $4. A buck per serving makes this a very budget-friendly dish.

Menu Monday - Polish Style Lasagna

POLISH STYLE LASAGNA
This was a very hearty and delicious dish. The little ones loved it and took us back to our love of pierogies.

You will need:
9 uncooked lasagna noodles (The no cook style noodles will not work for this recipe.)
1 onion, sliced (I used a sweet onion as it goes best with this dish.)
1/2 cup butter
2 2/3 cup potato flakes (recipe on box is to serve 6)
8 oz cream cheese - softened and at room temp is best

The prep work:
First you will want to prep your lasagna noodles. Drain them carefully and place in a wet towel to keep them moist or put a small amount of olive oil on each noodle. Set these aside.
Preheat your oven to 350F.

Heat the butter in a skillet and saute the onions in the butter for 5 minutes. Set aside.

Cook the potatoes according to package directions but OMIT the milk. Once cooked add the cream cheese and mix into the potatoes well.

Putting the lasagna together:
Lightly grease your casserole dish.
Place 3 noodles in the bottom of 9 x 12 casserole dish. Spread half of the potatoes over the noodles, repeat.
Place the last 3 noodles on top and then cover with the sauteed onions.

Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees F.

Serve with sour cream and your favorite veggies.

***We also make chicken breasts topped with butter, sweet onions, and parsley and baked in the oven to go with this dish.

Apple Dumplings
What better recipe for a fall weekend day with the family?

Ingredients:

1 (16.3 oz) can refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (Grands work great!)

8 teaspoons butter or margarine
4 small to medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and halved

3/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup water

1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Preheat over to 350°F. Lightly grease a 13x9 inch glass baking dish.

Flatten biscuits with a rolling pin. Place 1 tsp butter in the core area of each apple half. Wrap each biscuit around 1 apple half and place them seam side down in the baking dish.

Combine sugar, water, melted butter, and vanilla and pour over the dumplings. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake uncovered at 350°F for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and apples are tender.

DANCE -
LET'S DANCE!:
Let's Dance! is designed for beginner to intermediate boys and girls who want to explore the world of dance through Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Tumbling. We will work specifically of flexibility, control, and technique. Field trips will include seeing Ballet Arkansas, the Henderson Dance Company, and University of Arkansas at Little Rock's Spring Dance Concert. Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through May that will culminate in a performance. ($45/60 per month and $25 yearly performance fee)
Ages 3-4 years old - Thursday's 4:30-5:30pm   $45
Ages 4-5 years old - Thursday's 5:30-6:30pm   $45
Ages 6-8 years old - Thursday's 4:00-5:30pm $60

Hip Hop for Boys:
Pop, Lock, Tut, and Breakdance your way through this fast-paced dance class just for the guys. Field trips will include seeing University of Arkansas at Little Rock's Spring Dance Concert. Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through May that will culminate in a performance. ($45 per month and $25 yearly performance fee)
Ages 7 and up - Day and Time To Be Announced

Dance Styles:
Want to check out different dance styles without taking a class in each one? This class will take you from Ballroom to Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Swing, African, Zumba, Bellydancing, Contemporary, Yoga, and everything in between. The best part is, it's broken up on a weekly basis....so if there's a dance style you're not interested in, you don't have to come and you won't have to pay for it.
($5 per week)
Teens and Adults - Thursday's 7:00pm     $5 per week

TRIPLE THREAT:
Triple Threat is a class that's about to break all the rules. We're combining Theater Dance with Vocals and are throwing in Stage Presence and Acting too! This is for the student that's always thinking "What should I do with my hands?" while preparing for an on-stage performance. We've put together a class that moves forward through the era's of theater. ie: 1940's - Charleston and partnering, 1960's - swing and the beginning of rock, and will be focusing on individual scene studies to get a grasp of the characters we're portraying. Field trips will include seeing performances at The Arkansas Repertory Theater, University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Henderson. Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through May that will culminate in a performance. ($45 per month and $25 yearly performance fee)
Ages 8-Adult - Monday's 6:00-7:00pm

THEATER -
ACTING I:If you've ever heard of "Who's Line Is It Anyway?", then you'll love this class! This acting class is designed for beginner to intermediate students who want to explore the world of theater through improvisation, games, and scene studies. Field trips will include the Arkansas Repertory Theater, Arkansas Arts Center, and University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through May that will culminate in a performance. ($45 per month and $25 yearly performance fee)
Ages 7-9 years old - Monday's 4:00-5:00pm
Ages 10-13 years old - Monday's 5:00-6:00pm
Ages 14-18 years old - Monday's 6:00-7:00pm

Acting II is for advanced students who have performed in at least 3 shows, have completed Acting I, or who have an educational background in performance studies. This class will cover monologues, partnering, scene studies, and will use the techniques of Stella Adler and Uta Hagen. Guest speakers will include directors from the Arkansas Repertory Theater and University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through May that will culminate in a performance. ($45 per month and $25 yearly performance fee)

MUSIC -
Music I:
Where does music come from? How can it be created through voice or instrument? This beginner class will teach music exploration using both voice and instruments and will cover all genre's. It will also teach what music is like in other countries, it's history, and the future of music in the digital age. No prior skills are required. Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through May that will culminate in a performance.   ($45 per month and $25 yearly performance fee)

SongWriting:
Have you ever wanted to write your own songs, but weren't sure on how to put the music with the words? In this class we will offer instruction and techniques for song writing and will teach you how to express yourself through song writing/lyrics. We will work on producing our own CD and the process of copywriting. Harmony, pitch and effective vocal techniques are crucial in making a great song and learning about specific instruments and what roles they play in making a song sound a certain way are just a few things you will learn in this music course. If you are an aspiring artist, this class is just for you. You do not need to be able to play an instrument to take this class! Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through May that will culminate in a performance.   ($45 per month and $25 yearly performance fee)
Song Writers Showcase - Ages 10-18 - Day and Time To Be Announced

Acoustic Guitar:
This group guitar class will teach the in's and out's of strings, chords, and musicality. No prior skills are required, but students must supply their own guitar. Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through May that will culminate in a performance.   ($45 per month and $25 yearly performance fee)
Acoustic Guitar - Ages 7 and up - Day and Time To Be Announced

Percussion:
This group percussion class will show you that drumsticks will sound much better when they're not playing pots and pans. Experiment with the sounds of different drums and beats and learn how to work together with your classmates to create a spectacular sound. No prior skills are required. Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through May that will culminate in a performance.   ($45 per month and $25 yearly performance fee)
Percussion - Ages 7 and up - Day and Time To Be Announced

PRIVATE LESSONS:
Private Lessons are for students that want to be able to work with our Teaching Artists one-on-one. Lessons are offered by the hour or half-hour and the days/times are arranged with each individual teacher. Lessons are offered in a variety of instruments and voice for ages 6- Adult. Students will take weekly classes beginning the last week of August and going through May that will culminate in a performance. ($25 per half-hour/$35 per hour and $25 yearly performance fee)

ART AND LITERATURE:
This PreK-K Class will offer our youngest artists an introduction to reading and will create a connection from books we read, to art we create. Students, along with their parents, will enjoy a group story. Then we will work together to create an art piece that ties into our chosen reading. ($35 per month and $20 yearly supply fee)
Ages 3-5 years old - Thursday's 4:00-5:00pm $35

Kids Art:
Our Kids Art class has been created for students who want to try everything. We'll be learning painting, drawing, sculpture, mosaic, and everything in between...even discovering Art History through the study of works by Piccaso, Degas, Warhol, and many more. Students will tour galleries in Hot Springs, at the THEA Foundation, and at the Arkansas Arts Center. After the completion of the class, selected pieces will join our Arts on Tour program and will be showcased throughout Central Arkansas businesses and galleries. Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through May that will culminate in a gallery showing. ($45/60 per month and $25 yearly supply fee)
Ages 6-10 years old - Thursday's 4:00-5:00pm $45
Fiber Arts:

Our Fiber Arts class is designed for students who want to try different ways to work with yarn. We’ll be learning to knit, crochet and how to knook. We will learn about different kinds of yarn, yarn bombing and learn to dye our very own yarn. Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through December that will culminate in a gallery showing.

($45 per month and $30 supply fee)

Ages 7-15 years old - Tuesday's 4:30-5:30pm $45

MIXED MEDIA:
Our Mixed Media classes are designed for students who want to try everything. We'll be learning painting, drawing, sculpture, mosaic, and everything in between...even discovering Art History through the study of works by Piccaso, Degas, Warhol, and many more. Students will tour galleries in Hot Springs, at the THEA Foundation, and at the Arkansas Arts Center. After the completion of the class, selected pieces will join our Arts on Tour program and will be showcased throughout Central Arkansas businesses and galleries. Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through May that will culminate in a gallery showing.   ($45/60 per month and $25 yearly supply fee)

Sculpture:
Have your ever wanted to experiment with metal, wood, clay, paper mache, or even found art pieces? Students will tour galleries in Hot Springs, at the THEA Foundation, and at the Arkansas Arts Center. After the completion of the class, selected pieces will join our Arts on Tour program and will be showcased throughout Central Arkansas businesses and galleries. Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through May that will culminate in a gallery showing.   ($45/60 per month and $25 yearly supply fee)

PAINTING I:
Learn the art of painting in this exciting class. Students will learn shape, coloration/blending, and techniques using Watercolors, Tempera, Acrylic, and Indian Ink in a walk through the history of Painting. Students will tour galleries in Hot Springs, at the THEA Foundation, and at the Arkansas Arts Center. After the completion of the class, selected pieces will join our Arts on Tour program and will be showcased throughout Central Arkansas businesses and galleries. DIGITAL ARTS -
Film/Video Production:
Students will learn the basics of pre-production, videography, lighting, audio & video editing; as well as cover the principles of cinematography and the art of telling a story with a camera.
This is a beginner’s course, there is no experience required, just bring your imagination. Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through May that will culminate in a showcase.   ($60 per month and $25 yearly supply fee)
Film/Video Production - Ages 11 and up   Tuesday's    6:00-7:30    $60
This Class Will Be Limited to 8 students!!!

Television Production:
Have you ever wanted to have your own newscast or do an episode like iCarly? What about being a sportscaster or weatherman? Now is your chance! This class is all about teamwork and we will be working together to create a news team, including everyone from the director to the top news anchor. We will write our stories, produce and film them, and then they will air on our YouTube channel each month. Students will take weekly classes beginning the first week of September and going through May that will culminate in a showcase.   ($60 per month and $25 yearly supply fee)
Television Production - Ages 9 and up    Tuesday's    4:30-6:00    $60
This Class Will Be Limited to 8 students!!!

PhotoShop:
Maybe you are a Beginner and have PhotoShop on your computer and don't know how to use it or maybe you want to learn some great shortcuts and quick tips to edit your photos beautifully. Either way, this class will help you reach your editing goals. Students must have PhotoShop 3, 4, or 5 to benefit from this class. CREATIVE WRITING -
Our creative writing classes will explore the world of imagination through the written word in the form of poetry, lyric writing, short stories, playwriting, and fiction. Selected works that the students produce will be turned into music lyrics in songs composed by our music students and performance pieces that will be performed by our actors and dancers. Students will take weekly classes beginning the last week of August and going through May.

PreSchool:
Daytime PreSchool:
Our PreSchool program has been designed with stay-at-home mom's and dad's in mind. Our Pre-students (along with their mom or dad) will be learning a combination of art, music, and creative movement each week. We will enjoy fun games and activities designed for even the most high energy kiddos.....both they and you will be looking forward to naptime after ;)
($25 per month and one-time $25 supply fee)
2's Thursday's 9:00-9:50am      $25 per month
3's Thursday's 10:00-10:50am $25 per month
4's Thursday's 11:00-11:50am $25 per month

Art & Literature:
This class combines great stories with art projects created in class based on the book. Students will get to experience different mediums of art including paint, watercolors, drawing, collage, and much more!
($35 per month and one-time $25 supply fee)
Ages 3-5   Thursday's   4-5:00pm    $35 per month

Let's Dance!:
Our smallest students will explore the world of dance through tumbling and creative movement. This class will end in a performance in May.
Ages 3-4   Thursday's   4:30-5:30    $45 per month
Ages 4-5   Thursday's    5:30-6:30   $45 per month

HomeSchool:

Classes are held at 4037 Boone Road in Benton behind MidTowne Church

Each week, our HomeSchool students will experience different disciplines of the arts....from music to creative writing, visual art to theater. This will be an amazing opportunity for each student to get a well-rounded arts education provided by professional instructors at a low cost to you. These classes start the first week of September and will go through the end of May, culminating in a performance and gallery exhibit showcasing the students work.
Ages 6-8               Thursday's    1:30-3:00    $35 per month
Ages 9 and up      Thursday's    1:30-3:00    $35 per month

Homeschool Parents are more than welcome to drop off their
students and return to pick them up at the closing of class.

Menu Monday - Loaded Baked Potato Salad

Loaded Baked Potato Salad

Ingredients:
4 large Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup freshly chopped chives, divided
8 strips of bacon (6 for the salad and 2 for topping) cooked and crumbled
1 tsp black pepper
salt to taste
Serves 4 - 6 (Simply double list of ingredients if you need a larger serving)

Directions:
In a small bowl, mix together your mayonnaise, and sour cream. Make sure the two are completely combined and then add half of the chives, cheese, and pepper. Taste mixture to see if you prefer some salt. (I usually add a dash or two.) Let chill in fridge for a bit. Meanwhile, peel and cube your potatoes in to bite size pieces. Put in a large pot, cover with water, and boil until fork tender. About 20 minutes. *You need to keep an eye on them. If they cook too long you'll end up with more of a mashed potato consistency when you mix them with the sauce.

When potatoes are ready, drain and let cool just a bit. *Let them cool a lot if you plan to serve chilled. Put potatoes in a large bowl or dish and combine with sour cream mixture. Top with remaining half of chives and crumbled bacon.

Since I did not get a Menu Monday post done yesterday I will share this tasty treat with you since it's Tuesday. Hope you enjoy! Shared by LRM Amber.

Funfetti Cake Batter Cookies
makes 30-32
1 box vanilla cake mix, 18.25 oz
1 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
1/2 C vegetable oil
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 C color sprinkles

Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix and baking powder. In a small bowl, mix together the eggs, oil and vanilla. Add the egg mixture to the cake mixture and stir to combine. Stir in the sprinkles. Drop by spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet or silpat. Bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool for 5 minutes on cookie sheet before transferring to cooling rack. They will be very soft at first.

Cool and enjoy!
