In order to make up for not posting anything for a while, I'm going to upload a bunch of gestures a bit later. They were all done from life, most of them in about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Compressed charcoal.

Another live drawing, done in about two hours. Pencil.

I hope everyone enjoyed the blast from my past sketchbook upload -- from now on I'll be posting current sketchwork and finished pieces only. Here is a drawing that I did earlier today from life. It was about two hours of work, give or take. Pencil on paper.

These were sketches done for a self-portrait of a bunch of isolate characteristics of myself

This was a funny thing done for a friend

These were done for a school project - I had to create a composition which was still effective after more things were added.

This was an idea sketch for a painting I did of my friend.

These were all done in preparation for a self-portrait.

These three were part of a mandala-type design that I made for a close friend of mine. If you follow the (hard to read, I know) numbers, you can see the progression through ideas.

These two were for a painting class -- given a title, we had to create an image. Mine was "The Beautiful Bird Revealing the Unknown to a Pair of Lovers."

A landscape sketch.

Some of my friends here are playing music atop the Pillar of Autumn

Settling on a final idea for a portrait.

Sketch from life.

Later today I will start it off by putting up selected bits of my sketchbook last year, so everyone can see where I'm coming from.

I am going to try do do at least one sketch each day and upload my progress here. Maybe it will be cool because you can see my improvement over time. Some days I might put up more than just a sketch! Gosh, what a crazy world.
