WITH FALL!

Don't you just love Fall? The weather turns crisp, you want to bake apple crisp, HaHa. How cheesy! I have been dying to bake something pumpkin, and when I came across pumpkin doughnuts <---- Hello I just died. Any one that knows me even a little bit knows I have a shameless love/obsession/lust/can'tgetenoughof doughnuts. Baked or fried, glazed or cake, it doesn't matter. You can even sit a bag of those powdered sugar mini doughnuts and I'd probably start crying tears of joy. ANYWAY, moving on...I decided to make the pumpkin doughnuts. They did not disappoint. Thank you again, Pinterest! The recipe is from Blue Eyed Bakers, and I'm so glad I tried it. Now, go makes some!

Have you ever stumbled upon a blog and just wanted to sit and read every post they've ever written? Okay, good, because I was thinking maybe it was just me. A couple of weeks ago Better Homes & Gardens pinned a pin "Blogger We Love" and it was Kelly Carambula from The Best Remedy (formerly Eat, Make, Read). Her blog is so pretty. Almost every single post I found myself thinking, "I want to make that" or "I want to eat that now!". And of course she shares a fair amount of recipes for cocktails. What isn't to love? Funday Friday

Hello! It's been a shorter week for me than most, I'm off today and am taking little baby doll to her twelve month appointment. This means shots, this means crying. Probably more so for me. It's hard to keep it together when I know how much it has to hurt Liv. But, aside from that I'm very much looking forward to spending the day with my little doll. This week I :

Finished the book Fifty Shades of Grey. Wow. My mind is blown.

Had lunch with an old friend whom I had not seen in over a year, what a very special treat.

Survived this insane heat. Really, not much of anything has survived in it. I'm very ready for fall.

Found out where our new Chick-Fil-A is going to be. Game on! ( I realize this is not exciting news to most, but my love of their food is just insane)

Stay Cool, Pony Boy

Oh my, I'm afraid to ask, can it get any hotter here? I know the whole country is scorching hot, but it's even torture walking outside. You can't breath, it's like walking into a heated oven. Everything is dying, it's insane. So, I hope whatever is on your agenda for this weekend, it involves air conditioning! Or a pool, wink wink. We're headed to a birthday party today. I know there will be water, but not much of it. I may just lie down in it with the other toddlers. HaHa. What a sight.

Yesterday I got a steal on a few items I wasn't even shopping for. I ran into Pier 1 to buy a stuffed animal (I know, weird place to buy an item like that, but they seriously have the cutest stuffed animals ever- and what child doesn't love a stuffed animal?) and I found these---

The bowls on the left were $1.89 and the ones on the right were $4.98. What a steal, right? I was super excited. The entire summer collection is on sale right now (and so are the stuffed animals!) and I couldn't resist them. Here is the Pig I snatched up for Liv a couple of weeks ago. I think she's pretty cute.

I also scored some great books at B&N's bargain bin. I could stay in B&N all day. I love it, and with a Starbucks what more could you want?

Happy 4th!

So, I know I've been VERY neglectful of posting on the blog, so I have a lot of catching up to do! What better way than to post on such a fun day than Indpendance Day? The 4th has always meant hanging out with my favorite friends, who are really an extension of my family. Shooting off fireworks, having a few cocktails, eating hot dogs and having a lot of fun and laughs. I sure hope it means something just as enjoyable to you all as well. With one part of my family at work today, it's going to be a tad bit off this year. Oh, and the 4th falls right in the middle of the week so- there's that looming issue of WORK tomorrow. Ew! Nine Months

Yesterday I had an appointment to get Liv's nine month pictures taken. We met our very talented photographer, Rhiannon Trask at Shelter Gardens. This was the first time Liv had any pictures taken outside that were professional, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect had I requested it special. She really loves it outside, and I think Rhiannon (known as Lollipop Photography- I think it's such a clever name!) snapped some great shots of my little Boo Boo. Last night Rhiannon posted this sneak peek on Facebook and I literally gasped.

How blessed am I? My cup runneth over.

~Spring is in the Air~

I don't think Missouri is the only place that Spring arrived to early. It's been fabulous to enjoy so much of the beauty that Spring brings. I find that I'm desperate for birds chirping, frogs croaking, lawn mowers running, even allergies after having to go through winter. Everything dies in winter, and there is no green in sight...unless you live in the Pacific Northwest. Which, sadly I do not. I am certainly not the person that has a green thumb, but this year I find myself wanting to dig in the earth. To plant something and watch it grow. I'm not sure if it's the mom in me or something else that awakened this, but I do want to garden. We'll see if I make good on this. Can you even believe that March is almost over? Time flies, and when you have a little one it goes by at the speed of light. We've had a lot of fun this month, and I thought I'd show you some pics I snapped from this month. Hope everyone has fun plans this weekend. The weather has been absolute perfection here lately, and Liv LOVES being outside. Hoping we can take some walks this weekend!

Isn't this table awesome? Well, I bought it! Two of them, actually. They are my new night stands that go with our new bed and our new upholstered headboard. I can't believe I finally got a new headboard- I'm more excited about that than the new mattress! Sad, I know. I just need to come across the perfect lamps now...

A woman's shopping is never done.

I celebrated 33 years on this earth. The best thing about my birthday, was sharing it with my precious baby girl. Being a mother is the most rewarding gift I could ever receive. (p.s.- didn't spap this photo- it's from Pinterest!)

I bought my very first pair of Sperry's. I know, life changing. And teeeeechnically I bought two pair in one shopping trip. The other pair are pretty major. Think plaid. Think gold sparkle. I know, take a minute to regroup. I'll wait.

I finished my brilliant and most talented friend Liz Schulte's book, Secrets. The second book, Choices came out this week and I'm so stoked to see what happens to the characters, Olivia & Holden. Buy all of her work, she's quite amazing. I'm not just saying that because she's a bestie, she really is great and I'm eager to find out when a major publishing house is going to snatch her up. Her books read like a great, intense movie.

I'm going to try and be better at blogging. I keep telling myself this mantra and it just seems like there is never enough time to devote like what I want to. One of the best parts of my day is seeing what some of my very fave blogs have to say. I'm always anxious to see what neat, and cool ideas these peeps that have become almost like a friend to me have to say, or what inspiration they have to share. Here are a few of the pins I've pinned lately that I'm really "diggin".

Yellow has never been my "go to" color- ever. But I'm coming around to this fun color. Especially when paired with grey. I think the yellow island in this white kitchen is so much fun.

Happy Monday Ya'll! Hope everyone's weekend was superb! I skirted out of work early Friday to see this-

It was AWE-SOME SAUCE! I highly reccomend you get to the theater and check it out! So many great actors- Donald Sutherland, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci (who was to die for funny), and then there is the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence. She brought Katniss to life and was really fabuous in this movie. I'm eager to see it again, and again! Nerd alert!

Saturday I was witness to such an amazing show of love- my friend Leslie married her true love Chino. My heart was so full of joy for the two of them. They really only had eyes for each other, and it reminded me that in world that sometimes feels full of anger and hurt, there is love. I'm so happy for them. What I'm NOT happy about it the fact that when I got home that afternoon I realized that I snapped ZERO pictures of them. Fail! That's what I get for trying to take an eight month old to a wedding. Not fun times. HaHa.

Yesterday I made breakfast for my dear friend Devin, who just this past week delivered a precious and completely sweet baby boy- Issac. I know I'm so blessed in my own life, but this weekend- seeing my close friends so happy and so blessed as well made me beyond thankful. God is so good!

I'm SO looking forward to the weekend! Tomorrow is St. Patty's Day- we usually have Corned Beef & Cabbage (ew!- not my fave, but my husband is nutty over it) and I'm thinking of making a honey beer bread recipe I found on Pinterest yesterday. My ideas are always bigger than my follow through, but I'm also wanting to do something fun for dessert- something green! I'm also meeting up with my Third Floor Girls for lunch at my favorite place in Columbia- Murray's! I'm really looking forward to some much needed chat time with these girls. We don't see each other that often, but when we do I always feel like a better person for just having known them. Love to you all!

Tomorrow is my birthday, and today has already been such a wonderful day. A day filled with cake for breakfast, Shakespeare's Pizza for lunch, Starbucks for dessert, Kate Spade Cell Phone Cases, Hello Kitty birthday cards, gift cards, great & fabulous friends showering me with birthday wishes, and it's not even my BIRTHDAY YET! I'm feeling very loved, and I'm so incredibly blessed. The biggest most important present was laying in her crib this morning when I left the house, smiling up at me. I received quite a surprise today when my sweet Mother gifted me this Michael Kors wallet as an early birthday present. It's pretty much the coolest, and I'm pretty much the luckiest girl ever to have such a thoughtful and giving Mom! It matches my purse that she gave to me last year. Yay for birthdays!

It's snowing right now, and it looks like I might be in for the day with Livia (and Nick Jr., yay). We were all wondering (well I wasn't, but others were) where winter had gone. It's been an unusually mild winter for us. Last year we had what was called a "snownami". Well, that's what I referred to it. Snowed in for three days. Crazy. So, for now I'll make a pot of coffee, look at the snow, and most importantly, snuggle and kiss Livia. Maybe snow isn't so bad after all. Until next time.

I know that a lot of people are loving Pinterest, believe me- I am one of those people. Something I'm equally excited about is the website, Houzz. I stumbled across it some time last winter, and I'll blame what I'm about to say on my then pregnancy brain, but I cannot remember how I stumbled upon it. Regardless, it's pretty much the bees knees. I really love their iPad app, and because of that I'm on it more than ever. So, what's Houzz? It's a site designed for both professionals and home owners to display their work. The pictures seem to be endless, I guess that's what I really love about it. One picture can lead to several others that are similar to what you were originally searching. I know in the future I'll share lots of my favorites from my Ideabook I've created on Houzz, but right now I'm going to start with a few photos that are from the same project by Urrutia Design.
