We’re back to France since last monday, but we had a lot of things to do (university :s, sort and classify all pics, etc…).

We really want to thank Cooler Master for this superb (and crazy ^^) week, the whole partners and people who helped us during the CeBIT.

We were happy to meet the Cooler Master team (it’s better than MSN ) and hope to see them soon

Regular day at CeBIT

Wake-up at 7AM. Be at Hannover Messe at 8:30.

Then the fun begins, try to reinstall Windows Vista for CrossfireX use. Then fight for hours to make everything work even while aircooled. Then wtach it running 3DMark… then it’s time for a free goodies giveaway with people shouting stupid things.

And finally in the afternoon the party starts: running LN2 overclocking with dual quadcore cpus. Got them running pretty well this time, and in a few hours we’ll be switching to a volt-modded board to try breaking some records.

Board was modded two day ago by myself after a booth party, which means I can still solder after a few capirinhas

Now, we’re leaving the Zotac Party from which I’m writing, then we’ll be back benchmarking on the booth… night will be long!

Does Skulltrail works well ?

This morning, we played with Skulltrail with 2 QX9775 in air cooling with Cooler Master Hyper 212 (which are really efficient), and we only had 4.4GHz We would like more ^^

Now, we’re playing with LN2 cooling, wait and see…

We’re back

I’ve just uploaded some pics about the LN2 project and Cooler Master show.The LN2 project works well (Skulltrail needs much LN2 ) and people ask us many questions about this crazy cooling system…

Then, yesterday evening it was the Foxconn party and the day before it was Cooler Master party… We had very good time and drunk goods cooktails

First day at the CeBIT

Saturday at 6PM we left the Bassin d’Arcachon (near Bordeaux) and we drove… 12h30 (1413km exactly)

We just made a “pit stop” near Paris in order to eat something and we continue driving (we love German motorways : no speed limits ^^).

Then, the Cooler Master team arrived on the booth and we started to unpack everything and we recieved the LN2 tank (300L of liquid nitrogen).

Final countdown…

We’re now 3 days away from the CeBIT trip, and things are to be done in a hurry if we want them in time. This is geeting more and more worrying as everytime you sort out something, ten new problems appear For today, we started with a good news about hardware supply… and ended with a lot of work to fit our cooling solution on one of the chips we plan to chill. By the way, this is not completely over, and will probabaly take a few hours tomorrow to fix it.

About everything else, we’re now quite ready, at least as much as you can be when planning this kind of event.

Good news: that depends on out internet connection there, but we’re pretty confident that we’ll be able to broadcast a video streaming live from the booth!

(short news tonight, we’re really overbooked…more next time)

Cooling system works !

As expected yesterday, we managed to get our cooling system done today. It was not as easy as we thought, and we endured some delays due to inoperative diodes… but anyway, it now works fine ! This is the main part of our project, even more than trying to get some high scores on benchmarks, just because that cooling device is completely new in computer industry. We never saw such a thing used for overclocking, so it should be a world premiere on march, the 4th for the CeBIT opening.

You’ll all be welcome on Cooler Master’s booth, Hall 21, C17/19 to see the first tests with it. Be sure to wear a pair of gloves and a scarf, it will be chilly there

Cooling system teaser [part 2]

I’ve spent half the day in the garage finishing some parts, but now brazing jobs are over, what’s left to do is just a bunch of electric connections. Comparing things to do with things done yet, I’d say we’re 80% done at the moment. Tomorrow, we should get to 90%, with the first real tests.

More pics will come tomorrow…

On the hardware side, things are really turning well, as missing parts are now ok, and will arrive in time for the show. Latest BIOS updates from Foxconn are really improving the X48 board’s behavior, making it both more performant, and more stable. We hope to get very high results, and the mainboard looks really strong !
