Hello My name is Karren and my blog is all about fashion, trends and shopping and beauty! Don't we all love fashion in one way or another, some seasons better than others. My favorite is fall and winter as I like to layer with light weight jackets.

My fashion blog was started back in 2009 but after my hubby got sick I did not have time to devote to this blog. My active blog is Oh My Heartsie Girl, many of you may visit on a regular basis there for the #omhgww. You might have heard of Ning Network's, well this blog was originally tied to my Private network I started back in 2009, also named Live Laugh Love To Shop, where there were over 600 paid members. It was fun, we shared all types of shopping for handmade items, fashion ideas, health articles, and promoting businesses with each other and lot of work as my favorite thing is to promote other bloggers.

Now that I have just finished updating my fashion blog, I am ready for new fashion posts to share. I thought I would start with a regular visitor and blogging friend Shelbee from "Shelbee on The Edge". The skin faces a lot of wear and tear in everyday life. T works hard to protect the body and prevents pollutants or harmful bacteria from affecting our organs. It is safe to say that skin serves a lot of important purposes, and hence, we should work on making sure that it stays healthy for a long time.

With regular wear and tear of the skin, a lot of dead and dull cells get accumulated in the top layer or your skin. Not only that, but bacteria, germ, and sebum can also get trapped in the skin leading to acne and blocked pores. Thankfully, now you can use a microdermabrasion treatment to ensure that your skin is free of any impurities.

What Is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a treatment which is gaining a lot of popularity. It can be viewed as a more intensive exfoliation. · DermaSweep:

The final procedure that you can opt for when you go to professional is a dermasweep. This procedure is similar to a diamond-tipped wand in that it does not involve the use of any loose particles. Instead, they use bristles made of nylon or some other synthetic fiber to exfoliate the skin. The vacuum that comes with these devices are gentler and have reversible airflow allowing them to push and pull the skin. The bristles are also used to deliver helpful serums into the skin such as salicylic and hyaluronic acid which the skin can absorb better after exfoliation.

· Cream-only Microdermabrasion:

These creams are used as an at-home treatment. As the name suggests, these are creams which have exfoliating agents in them and are spread with the help of your fingertips to exfoliate the skin. These creams do not involve the use of any machine, and they are less effective than a diamond or crystal tipped device which you can also find for home use. However, since thee creams are a lot more gentle on the skin they can be used for your everyday skin regime.

Hence, many people are not sure about whether or not they want to opt for this procedure. No matter how your relationship with fashion looked before you were a mom, you will admit that now a lot of things have changed. And, it is completely normal – pregnancy changes both your mindset and your body. After those hard nine months of carrying a person inside of your ginormous belly, you’ve now entered a sleep-deprived, PJ-cloaked zone called: living with a newborn. At the same time, you are supposed to nurse that little thing. In other words – hello clothes with eased boob access. I know, it’s pretty hard.

However, just because you are a mom now, that doesn’t have to mean you should neglect your style, nor that remaining stylish will make your mom life harder. After all, style is not about wearing uncomfortable clothes and blindly following all the latest trends, but rather about feeling good about yourself in general with the help of right pieces.

So without further ado, here is how to style up your mom life.

1. Denim all the way

First of all, erase those ugly mom jeans from your head right now. I’m not talking about them. The key is to upgrade your jeans wardrobe with at least one good pair of jeans – from this decade. Have in mind that, even though you still may be able to fit inside your skinnies from your early 20s, you should still leave them where they belong – in your 20s. Denim changes and upgrades from year to year, and every woman needs at least one totally fitted and flattering pair that can also stand up to her current lifestyle – in this case, mom lifestyle. In other words, get yourself one designer nappy bag that will both fit all your baby necessities (from diapers, over wipes all the way to clothes and your stuff) and make you look gorgeous. Those stereotypical ones with cartoon characters just don’t do the trick anymore, because they will instantly switch your look into a sleep-deprived mommy, no matter how good your outfit may be.

4. On the go

Getting up an hour early in order to do a full face of makeup and curl your hair daily? Ain’t nobody got time for that! But the good news is that you don’t even have to do it. Simply throw on your basic makeup (mascara, tinted lip gloss, foundation and bronzer), comb your hair and you will already look more than fine – which is more than enough for an everyday look, and this will take only 5 minutes.

5. Go-to

Choose one garment you particularly love which shows off your personal style the best way possible and use it as your go-to garment that will make any outfit pop. For example, a basic, fitted black blazer is a great choice for a go-to garment. You can pair it with tees, dresses, denim – whatever.

The artificially created standard of beauty has made it difficult for real women, women with real bodies and real curves to feel powerful, sexy, and confident in their beauty. Most importantly, the women we have been looking at on the glossy pages of women’s fashion magazines are all dressed in sizes zero or two – the general size the trendy garments we see on the runways are made in. For decades, this has managed to send the message that one should alter their body to fit these almost impossible sizes. Luckily, times are changing. The body positivity movement has done so much for every woman who has ever felt insecure. Seeing such women as Ashley Graham walk for designers such as Michael Kors this year has set a great example.

There is plenty more for the fashion industry to do, but inclusivity is on its way. In the meantime, we are here to show you that you don’t have to hide your body, as there are still tons of incredibly flattering garments that will return you to a place you belong – the place of unmatchable femininity and fierceness. If Beyoncé, JLo and numerous other curvy ladies can do it, you can certainly do it too.

The invisible power source

It all starts with the right undergarments. Not only does the right cup size and the right underwear shape make a huge difference in how our clothes fit, but they also have the power to make us feel sexier, more confident and of course – more feminine. We know that the underwear industry has a long tradition of catering to the needs of small cups, and us bustier ladies have to settle for the regular black, white and beige bras, but improvements are being made.

There are companies who care about the female body and the feeling their products entice, and one can finally find even cute and supportive G cup bras that will tuck the girls in nicely, provide all the support they need and look sexy, lacy, full of embroidery – all the elements we need to feel sexy.

As for other underwear, panties and such, don’t be shy. Consult the salespeople, ask them which type would best show off your curves without digging into your flesh and making you feel uncomfortable. This is their job – to help you select the best for you, so never be too shy to ask.

Wear it however you feel like it

Femininity isn’t about getting your body into a tight dress or belting everything. Even Ashley Graham tells us to stop belting everything – let it flow. Long flowy dresses look amazing on curvy girls, and yes, there are times when you will want to belt them, and other times when you won’t. The point is, femininity shouldn’t be dictated by clothes. It’s an internal feeling. It might sound cheesy but you simply have to invoke the goddess from within and wear the clothes as opposed to letting them wear you. Baggy clothes can look wonderful on curvy girls, especially since oversized clothing is one of the major trends of the moment.

Have no fear

If you think you can’t pull off a bodycon dress or a tight pencil skirt, think again. These types of dresses only serve to enhance your curves, and if you have an area that causes you to feel a bit insecure in pieces like these, ruffles and ruching are always here to your rescue. They are virtually designed to hide all the flaws and make you feel and look spectacular. Therefore, don’t avoid that section of the store. Try it on, find it in your size and flaunt those curves because they weren’t meant to be hidden. Remember, when you have the right undergarments, you can pull anything off.

Keep the balance in mind

If you, for instance, have wide hips, flared jeans and wide-leg pants are perfect for you. Not only do they give you that extra dose of femininity and chicness, but they also serve to balance out the width of your hips and balance your proportions. Feminine fabrics

If your torso is shorter than your legs, wear frilly blouses made from such fabrics as silk and don’t tuck them in. This will create the illusion of a longer torso. If you have the opposite problem, the solution is simple – just tuck the blouse in, wear long flared jeans, put on a pair of heels and you’ll look absolutely stunning. Never underestimate the power of proper styling.

Feminine fabrics

Frilly, breathable feminine fabrics such as satin, silk, chiffon, georgette, crepe, organza, soft cotton, velvet, lace, and even tulle will awaken the princess in you, no matter what clothing item they end up making. Flowy fabrics are incredibly powerful. They have the ability to transform a wallflower into a diva, so the next time you go shopping, make sure to check the labels, see if the garments that caught your eye are made out of any of the listed fabrics and just go for it. Don’t run away from patterns. Just keep in mind that tinier ones like tiny checks, small florals and even small animal prints will do your figure more justice that huge patterns and prints. Finally, don’t run away from color – you were made to shine, so ditch the black and white and allow for some color in your life.

A little goes a long way

Finally, there is the hair and makeup. Again, the power of makeup that perfectly enhances your features is not to be neglected. It is well known that a red lip is the most powerful and feminine weapon of all, so even if you never saw yourself as a red lip girl, try it. We promise, you’ll never go back. Make sure you freshen up your hair color regularly, get a nice trim and a blowout and walk out the salon feeling like a supermodel.

All of these things will bring you more confidence and make you look more feminine. However, most of the work takes place on the inside. Sure, the right clothes and makeup will help, but you have to look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you look stunning, elegant and chic. You have to prevent doubt from creeping into your heart. If you have to, fake it for a while. In the end, you’ll begin to believe it.

Choosing Swimwear Depending On Your Skin Tone

Just like daytime outfits, tees, dresses and pants, even a ‘minor’ thing such as the color of your swimsuit can affect your appearance. As the most revealing part of your wardrobe, swimsuits should complement your whole body – from your best features and flaws, all the way to your skin tone.

Determining your skin tone

We can roughly divide skin tones into not more than two categories – warm and cool. And there are three ways to determine your own.

1. Take a piece of paper or a white towel (it is important that the thing is pure white) and hold it under your chin without any makeup on, under natural light. If your skin is slightly yellow hued, your skin tone has a warm tone, and if it is slightly blue, a cool tone.

2. Take a look at your wrist veins – if they appear blue, your skin tone is cool, and if they appear green, your skin tone is warm.

3. If gold looks better on you, you have a warm skin tone, and if silver looks better on you, you have a cool skin tone.

Warm skin tones can be light, medium or dark with caramel or golden undertones. People with this skin tone generally have gold, yellow, or orange hair with green, brown or hazel eyes.

On the contrary, cool tones range from pale porcelain skin with zero color in the cheeks to darker skin with pink undertones. Hair usually has hints of silver, violet or blue with gray, green, blue, black or cool brown eye color.

Light skin with light blond/red hair

Even though bold colors can make a statement, they are also showing off your pale side, so soft colors are a much better choice. Go with soft greens, beiges and pinks. With black, it’s a hit or miss, depending on whether your skin is more on the warmer or the cooler side. If you have red hair, you will look great in cobalt blue and white.

Avoid orange and yellow.

Creamy light skin with dark hair

This is also known as the Snow White combination. And just like Snow White, you should focus on emerald, fuchsia and plum as well as shades of blue such as navy and turquoise.

Avoid orange and white (but yellow is allowed – wink).

Medium-light skin with brown hair

The warm tone of your skin can be accentuated with rich earthy tones or deep reds. On the other hand, colors with peachy and beige vibes, as well as dark colors like gray and black can make you seem washed out, so avoid them.

Light brown/olive skin with medium/dark brown hair

Oh, congratulations, you are among a few of those who can rock every single color on the color wheel. So this summer, get yourself some sexy, boldly colored swimwear like fire red, for example, that will catch all the eyes at the beach.

However, you should avoid colors like gray and brown, they are simply too lifeless for you.

Caramel skin with brown/black hair

Our precious caramel beauties already have their built-in glow which can be accentuated with the right choice of color. Go with deep oranges, warm purples or teals in order to point out your golden character, and if you want to calm your appearance down, go with something like mint green or navy – they are eye-catching and calm at the same time.

Very dark skin with dark hair

Chocolate beauties can rock pastel colors from baby blue, over soft pink and pale yellow, all the way to mint green and light gray. However, they should avoid colors such as white, brown and orange because those can drown their appearance.

While it's good to have a clean home, there are times when it can feel like the same, old look. This is why it's important to evolve and change your interior design elements.

Consider making two new changes on a seasonal basis. When you do this, it'll help you avoid getting stuck in a proverbial rut at home.

You don't have to always do a major renovation project to change. Do a mix of projects. Consider these two awesome examples of ways you can add new life to your home decor.

1. Make an impact on the wall

Whether it's the largest wall in the living room or the backsplash in the kitchen, the walls matter. For a room like the living room, it's a nice idea to create a lovely gallery wall with tons of pictures of your family members, friends and favorite quotes.

In a room like a kitchen, use custom color ceramic tile to add dimension and depth to the backsplash. Plus, when you cook, it'll be a lot easier to clean any debris off of ceramic tiles.

2. Refurbish or replace a piece of furniture

If you have a coffee table that looks like it is on its last leg, it's time to replace it. Be sure to properly recycle or dispose of it in an eco-friendly manner.

If you've had a wooden dresser in your bedroom that seems to be the wrong color, consider making this a new DIY project. Remove the drawer pulls and use an electric sander to break down the surface.

You can give it a completely new look by covering the dresser in a navy blue chalkboard paint. You can also give it a glossy finish in a bright color like magenta.

Don't be afraid to get creative. Add a new coat of paint to the drawer pulls or buy new ones altogether. By the time you're done, you'll be beyond pleased with the new results.

If you're expecting a visit from friends and family, it's important to create a welcome environment in your home. Whether guests are visiting for a day or two or staying for an extended time, you can do some simple things that will make them cozy and comfortable.

Create an Inviting Entrance

Creating an inviting entrance to your home will make your guests feel welcome before they even step inside. Start by mowing the front lawn and getting rid of any dead plants and debris. Once the yard is clean, plant some greenery or flowers along your front walkway to add touches of color to your home. Clean up your front porch by washing windows and doors, replacing light bulbs, polishing hardware, and sprucing up design appeal with new porch furniture and cushions from Phoenix area furniture stores.

Fill the House with Pleasant Scents

Since you're in your home every day, you may not smell unpleasant odors that may be obvious to guests. It's important to get rid of unpleasant odors and make your home smell fresh and clean. Many unpleasant odors start in the kitchen, so make sure you clean and empty trash. If you have pets, give them a bath and clean out cat litter boxes. Before your guests arrive, add fresh flowers, potted plants, scented candles, and potpourri throughout the house.

Welcome To Make My Monday a Fashion Statement Fashion Linkup Many of you will know me from my blog Oh My Heartsie Girl and I have had this blog for about 9 years and use to have a shopping community where I had 1700 members.

Our members were from all niches and walks of life. I ran the community for about 5 years and it finally ran its course so I shut it down, but I kept my blog.

Now I'm excited to get it going again and thought the best way would be to start a Linkup each week.

And a little about my fashion background, for many years I was a manager of a well known women's clothing store located in Dallas, TX, called "Drapers and Damons". The clothing they carry is "Chic & Elegant Clothes for Ladies Over 50" and they have wonderful fashions from daytime, casual, sports and to cruise wear.

While I was the managed the store, it was my responsibility to run fashion shows, which was a highlight of my week. I would choose the clothes that volunteers from senior living communities or clubs would wear in each of the fashion shows along with accessories.

It was a major production each time and I enjoyed sharing the fun fashions at luncheons and get togethers.

Besides Dallas Tx, I traveled to Austin and San Antonio Texas to put on these fashion shows as well, so I have had a lot of experience over the years in fashion and I like you, love shopping and accessorizing.
