its been awhile since i posted anything...so much has been going on and I promise to do better in 2012. I have missed all my blogger friends... since I last posted my son got married, I became a grandmother to a beautiful baby boy Brantley, I moved AGAIN!!!! back home to Webb city to be closer to my family and friends...I could go on and on..... I stayed with my parents for awhile and just recently found a house as soon as I get someone over to set my computer up I will be back to posting again. So what have you been up to lately I am sure I have missed alot!!!!

28 YEARS AGO!!!

28 years a go I gave birth to my first born child Kyle at 10:10 in the morning..I have already called and sang him Happy Birthday as I always do ever since my boys got cell phones. This year is such an important year he is going to find out what its like to have a child of his own, my first Grandchild...EXCITED can't begin to touch how I feel about it or him either, he is going to be a great dad. They are getting induced on the 22nd of this month, I can't believe how close we are to holding our little Brantley I can't wait to meet him..

KYLE, I love you so much and you have and will continue to be such a joy in my life, I am so proud of the man you have become and the father you are about to become. I wish I could spend the day with you but I can't... but in a couple of weeks will celebrate not only your birthday but the birth of your son so we will make up for not seeing each other today, hearing your voice made me smile as it always does.. Have the best day ever!!! Wear your sunglasses while shooting fireworks..(I am still his mom and he will never be to old for me to remind him of that!) Have fun watching Transformers and JUST have the best day ever!!!!!! IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS WE ARE GONNA CELEBRATE BIG TIME!!!!! I can't wait, I know these weeks are gonna seam like forever but then you'll enter into the ranks of Fatherhood I can't believe my baby is having a baby and like I said before i can't wait to meet him, it won't be long now Kyle!!!!! I love you soooo much, soon you'll know all about a parents love!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLE!!!! I love you MOM!!!

As promised yesterday I wanted to post some pictures of the dress i have choosen for my sons wedding coming up Aug 2oth...please let me know your honest opinion of what you think, the wedding colors are black, red and Ivory..so i am thinking the red corsage will go great with my nails and toes painted red..I am really excited about the wedding and want my son to be proud of me too..here are some pics..

SOMETIMES LIFE GETS IN THE WAY...

Whew...... life has been throwing me some curves lately I am so sorry I have not been posting lately....I lost a great friend yesterday that I know God was there to greet her with open arms....she was a teacher and taught line dancing on the side she has fought a long illness and its been really hard on her and those that love her, I can see her now lining up all my loved ones dancing away with no pain, thats going to make it easier for me to accept her loss and to look at it that way....
My best friend Renee, her cancer came back..lung cancer.... and she is having a really tough time please say a prayer for her she needs them, I don't know what I will do if God calls her home too....
With the tornado and all thats going on in my home town in Joplin, Mo. and this surgery I had on my stomach life has not been easy on me lately but I promise to have a positive attitude through it all...I had no idea this surgery was going to be so tuff on me I lost alot of blood on the table and I have been really weak, I am just starting to eat solid foods..its been a month today, on the bright side I have lost 25lbs not the best way to lose it but the scale looks better to me...

I am going to be a grandma by the end of July I am so excited about that, isn't this the coolest picture its a 3-D one I cryed when they sent it to me.....won't be long now and I will be holding little Brantley in my arms and with my other sons wedding August 20th coming up I have alot on my plate alot bad and a whole lot good..I did manage to go shopping and find a beautiful dress I will post pictures later to get your opinions. This is the son who's fiance lost her house in the tornado, they bought another house and are moving in this weekend..my son had his house listed for over a year now but with all the people who lost homes and need one now he sold it within a week they are so happy its beautiful I will post pictures of that later too....Well thats all I have for now..please continue to pray for those in Joplin, my friend who I lost and her family and friends who will miss her dearly, my friend with cancer and for me that I get stronger everyday..Thanks so much I love you all.......

PRAYERS NEEDED!!!

My Hometown Joplin, Mo. was hard hit by the storms in Joplin, Mo. this video says alot, as I look at all the pictures where a vibrant town once stood I am in shock at all the damage that this tornado brought. So many lives lost, homes and Buisnesses...My sons are both Linesmans and have told me its like a warzone they have seen things people should not see and I hate it...The storms continue to come over and over I just want it to stop living 2 hours away has been really hard and the phone lines are not working well so to get ahold of my friends and family has been difficult. All my family has been accounted for some lost homes including my sons fiance who lost everything an aunt and uncle and a couple of my cousins.... but they are alive and thats what matters most. I know God has this is just so heartbreaking. My sons told me not to come for a couple of weeks becasuse the destruction is so bad, so for now I wait..There are 122 confirmed dead and over 1500 missing, my sons have told me there are many bodies in trucks and they won't place a number untill the bodies have been identified, I know I lost one classmate so far and I just continue to pray that they continue to find people in the rubble. I have been glued to the TV and Facebook has been a great way to keep in contact with my friends and familys since many cell towers are down and the phones are just not working...Please send prayers that way they need them so bad..Thanks!!!

Also I go into Surgery tomorrow morning again I know God has this I am just scared and don't want to be, I am having surgery on my stomach to repair things that happened in my car wreck I won't be able to eat solid food for almost a month thats going to be hard but with God's help and prayers I know it will be alright..Thanks so much for all your prayers ahead of time and if you have family living in Joplin, Mo know I have been praying daily.... I will post more pictures later its just utter destruction, they listed this tornado as an F5 I can't believe half my town is just gone!!!!

PUNCH RECIPES FOR BABY SHOWER!! HELP!!!

I am looking for some great punch recipes I found this one on Taste of home site....I think it would work great and would be perfect for a baby shower it will go great with my strawberries I posted earlier. I am thinking serving it in a punch bowl and already having the sugar coated strawberries on the glasses ready to be served, or lined around the punch bowl. I might even make a strawberry ice ring to put on top in the punch bowl HOW PRETTY WILL THAT BE?!!!!
Ingredients:
1 package (20 ounces) frozen unsweetened strawberries, partially thawed
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups cold brewed strong tea
2 liters ginger ale
chilled Ice cubes

Directions:
In a food processor combine lemonade concentrate, strawberries and sugar. Cover and process until smooth. Transfer to a large pitcher or punch bowl; stir in tea. Add the ginger ale and ice cubes. I am thinking adding scoops of ice cream too...Serve immediately.

HOW TO MAKE CAKE POPS!!!

I found instructions for cake pops and I think I can do it they are the newest fun party trends right now, I talked to momma to be today and found out bunnies will be my grandchilds bedroom theme, how cute huh??? So of course I spoke with the other soon to be daughter in law and she agreed bunnies will be a cute baby shower idea. I found the cutest pictures of cake pops with bunnies and the instructions of how to make them. I can't wait for this baby shower so I can post pictures of everything...if you have any bunny ideas for a baby shower let me know..Here are the instuctions for cake pops..I got these off the CREATIVE BABY SHOWER IDEAS SITE.

How To Make Cake Pops- You will need:

1 box cake mix

1 16 oz container of frosting

candy melts- in the colors of your choice

lollipop sticks

Wax or parchment paper

bowls to mix candy melts in- narrow is better than wide for dipping

spoons

a cookie sheet

decorations- sprinkles, crushed oreos or other treats, drizzled chocolate, etc

Bake the cake following the directions on the box. Let cake completely cool Crumble cake into large bowl.
Add most of the container of the frosting. The amount you need will depend on the type of cake you used and how moist it is.
You will want it to be moist enough to easily form balls, but not wet and gooey. Mix well.
Lay out the cookie sheet with your wax paper/parchment paper on top. Start by scooping up some of the cake and start forming into a ball. I like to pass it from hand to hand a few times and squeeze some of the air out of it.
Roll into a ball that is about the size a quarter. Use your lollipop stick to determine how big the ball needs to be. The average cake mix will give you anywhere from 36-50 cake balls, depending on how small you roll them. Bigger cake balls will mean less cake pops.
Once you have all of the cake balls formed, place in refrigerator until cold and firm. Heat up a small amount of candy melts to attach the lollipop sticks to the balls. Place the candy melts in a bowl and microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in between each time to make sure it is evenly heated. The candy melts will be smooth and not lumpy when it is ready to use. Dip the tip of each lollipop in the candy melts and push the stick a little less than half way into the ball.
Once you have attached all of the lollipops, transfer the cookie sheet with the cake pops on it into the freezer for 10-15 minutes. Remove tray from freezer and place in the refrigerator while you dip a couple cake pops at a time. Make sure the pops are firm and cold before you start to dip them.
Ready for the fun?! Dipping and decorating is my favorite part! Heat up the candy melts in a bowl in the microwave like above (stirring every 30 seconds until smooth). This time, use enough to cover the cake when you dip it. Hold the cake pop by the stick and dip in the melted chocolate. Use a spoon to help cover the parts that are harder to cover when dipping.
Be careful not to twist too much or heat up the chocolate around the stick or you will dislodge the lollipop stick out of the ball. The more you turn and twist it, the more rough the chocolate will look on the surface. Try to dip straight down to give a smooth look. Once your cake pop is covered, use your spoon to scrape the excess off the bottom. This will keep the chocolate from pooling when you set it down. Set it on your wax/parchment paper to cool.
Tip: If the chocolate starts to pool at the bottom while it is drying, use a toothpick or edge of a knife to separate the pool from the cake pop and give you a smooth edge.
Decorate! Some decorations will need to be done while the cake pop is still wet(sprinkles, oreos,etc) and some of them are okay to wait til it is dry(drizzling).
Place in an airtight container away from heat to store until the party.
Enjoy!

Cake Pop Lollipops:

Create cake lollipops by sticking the lollipop stick into styrofoam to let it dry. This will keep the top nice and round, just like a lollipop!

While searching for great baby shower foods and decorations I found these great STUFFED STRAWBERRIES FROM CREATIVE BABY SHOWER IDEAS. I can't wait to make these beauties do they look yummy or what??? Here is the recipe..

Stuffed Strawberry Recipe:
2 containers of strawberries
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1/2 cup of powdered sugar
1- 8oz of softened cream cheese
shaved chocolate- optional

You will also need pastry bag with a large star tip..

Sorry I have not been around for awhile, so much has been going on. First I went into the hospital because I was having chest pains, the doctors say I have been under WAY to much stress and they kept for a couple days. So I have been trying to get back on track to a much simpler way of life. We took my nephew in who is an addict thinking we could help him, he did so good through the winter then as soon as it got warm everything changed he started using an drinking again and won't go back to treatment, this is where all the stress began. I am a fixer and I tryed so hard but found out no matter how hard you want to help someone if they don't want it they won't change, all they will do is disappoint you so as hard as it is we told him he has to go it got really ugly yelling and he got in my face screaming at me and told me I was a loser "ME" just because I was trying to help. I let it get to me so bad that it landed me in the hospital. I think his mom is mad because I told her I couldn't do it anymore he is 18 and such a mess I don't wish any harm for him only the best, my help won't help he needs professional help but won't take it so he has to go, Saturday she is coming to get all his stuff, I don;t think she wants him there either but she is his mom, I hate the whole situation. I don't want the family mad at me but if they are I can't let it get to me my health is more important so i am going to take care of me instead of trying to fix everyone else...does that make me bad? I raised my two boys and never went through anything like this if I had I am not sure what I would have done I am so thankful I have sons like I do and I told them that and they told me mom you can't help him and we want you around so let him go and let God deal with it...they are so wise so thats what I am doing putting this all in God's hands..thanks for reading this has been really hard for me but I am moving forward now and taking care of me....
Sooo I will start posting daily again I miss my blog and it so needs my attention.... Please send prayers my nephew's way he so needs them thanks for reading..I look forward to getting back on track Have a great day!!!

I love soft taco's but i also love taco's with both soft and crunchy thats my hubby's favorite so I make those alot..YUMMM!!!
2. Do you scrapbook?

I love to scrapbook!!! and I am always looking for new ideas I follow several scrapbooking bloggers too....

I got the bug when I went to a creative memories party several years ago... my first big project was creating scrapbooks for my boys from birth to graduation.. I didnt figure they would think that much about them but it really was one of there favorite presents.. They took me about a year each to make I am so glad I am a picture taking addict as well I never go anywhere without my camera, if you know of good scrapbooking bloggers let me know I would love to check them out for there great ideas...

3. Do you take any daily medications?

More than I ever thought I would, I have anxiety and depression and a few other great things that I take medicine for...I hate it but I guess it does come with age...:-)

4. What is your favorite sound?

I love the sound of wind chimes I have a few outside it is such a soothing sound, another sound I truely love is the sound of laughter

especially a baby's laugh which I plan to hear alot of soon my grandbaby is due the end of July, I am sooo excited!!!!

5. Where were you born?

I was born in Joplin Missouri, a fairly small town that has grown alot since I entered the world a FEW...years ago...Its a nice midwest town, I have never moved far from there I now live in Branson Mo. about 2 hours from there...Most of my family still lives there or in surrounding towns. Joplin is an hour away from Springfield Mo. if you have never heard of it before..The hospital I was born in is still there but run down and has a couple of doctor offices in it...

I can't wait to read your answer's and I always follow back, I love meeting bloggers over 40 we have it so much together, well sorta..LOL Have a great week!!!

APRIL FOOLS CAKE..TOO FUN...

With April fools right around the corner I am always looking for fun ways to mess with my hubby's head, I found this great recipe on the TASTE OF HOME SITE...

APRIL FOOLS CAKE!!!

Ingredients

1 jar (14 ounces) pizza sauce

1/2 pound bulk Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled

1 package (8 ounces) sliced pepperoni

3 cups biscuit/baking mix

3/4 cup milk

2 eggs

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1 teaspoon garlic salt

5 to 6 slices mozzarella cheese

Directions

In a bowl, combine the pizza sauce, sausage and pepperoni; set aside. In another bowl, combine the biscuit mix, milk, eggs, butter and garlic salt. Spread half of the batter on the bottom and up the sides of a greased 10-in. fluted tube pan. Spoon meat mixture over batter; cover with remaining batter.

Bake at 375° for 35-40 minutes or until browned and a toothpick comes out clean. Invert onto a baking sheet. Arrange cheese over cake. Return to the oven for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Using two large metal spatulas, transfer cake to a serving platter; serve immediately.

I so know I can pull it off and won't he be surprised when dessert becomes dinner!!! I LOVE APRIL FOOL'S DAY DON'T YOU? WHAT IS THE WILDEST PRANK YOU EVER PULLED OFF???

I just found out...if you didn't know already I am gonna be a grandma by the end of July, excited does not even begin to say how I feel. Yesterday I found out what my son and his wife are having ITS A....

Yes a boy I am gonna have a grandson!!!! here is another picture of him..

is he cute or what??? Brantlee Onis will make his apparence into this world around July 31st!! I love the name... my son picked it out...if your wondering about the Onis middle name thats my sons middle name after my grandfather one of the best men to ever walk this world God rest his soul I am so glad he is gonna carry this name as well.....Well there you have it my exciting news...

Sugar Cookies, I love the smell of them baking and have several candles in that scent just makes you feel at home and I can remember my grandma's house smelling like them as she was always baking them for all of her granchildren I miss her so much!!!

4. Do you smoke?

I did up until a few weeks ago, I started when I was 40 I had never taken a puff before then, I was in that horrible car accident and had tryed everything to occupy my mind so I could drive, someone told me take up smoking that, that would help so being desperate to drive I did. It did help some but I had no idea how addictive they are I never smoked alot just mainly in the car and when I got nervous, so about a pack every 3 days. One of those big mistakes we make in life, I realized how stupid it looked and made my breath stink and my clothes smell and not to mention my car, so a few weeks ago I decided never to smoke again its been a little hard but so far so good. Wish me luck!!!!

5. Are your parents married or divorced?

yes for 50 years thats them at my wedding, not sure what hubby is doing, I wish I could have found a better picture but thats my parents....

Blogging is a funny thing...we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read and yet most of the time I find myself sitting and wondering, "who is this person!?" Oh yeah!!! they help make me look younger so its all good!!!

I like them all but If I had to pick cherry would be the one, I tend to migrate to the red ones..:-)

4. What is the last movie you saw in the theater?

Honestly I don't remember, we rent movies alot since there cheaper and this is the last one we saw Saturday..it was scarey alot more than the first...

5. Would you rather live without tv or without music?

I love them both but could not live without my TV, my soaps and my other favorite shows, what would I do without them...

HOW TO MAKE A DIAPER CAKE

If you have not heard I am going to be a grandma in a few months July 31st is the due date and I am looking for great ideas for baby showers and things to help decorate the baby's room. We find out March 16th what we are having wether its a boy or a girl, (I don't care just want the little one to be healthy). This is such an exciting time in my son's life and soon to be wife and of mine too of course its my first grandchild. I found these instructions on how to make a diaper cake on PLAN THE PERFECT BABY SHOWER SITE here are a couple of pictures I found of ideas since we don't know yet what the baby is or what theme the baby's room will be in here is one for a boy and a girl are these cute or what? Here are the basic instructions..

Step 1: THE INGREDIENTS..

You can get all of these at a local hobby lobby or the dollar store,

• 60 diapers (depends on how big you make it) You can use either disposable or cloth - better find out what the expectant mother would like. You can use either white or patterned diapers.

• Ribbon, 1/2 or 1 inch wide, patterned to fit the baby shower theme. Pink, blue, or yellow are good choices.

• Ribbon, 1/4 inch to tie rolled diapers with

• 36-60 small rubber bands (depending on how you want to "build" the cake

• 6 large rubber bands

• One 8-oz baby bottle or one large bottle of baby lotion

• One 4-oz baby bottle

• A cardboard or plastic cake platter

• Cake decorations - for example, baby confetti, baby sock roses, artificial roses, etc.

• Baby items - Pacifiers, bottles, lotion, bibs, receiving blankets, miniature stuffed animals, baby towel, onesie, wash cloths, baby hygiene products, toys, etc.

Step 2: BUILDING THE FIRST TIER

For the first tier, you will need about 35 newborn or stage 1 diapers. Unfold 17 of them and, one at a time, roll them up tight, starting from the front of the diaper and rolling it to the back. The tighter the better. Place a rubber band around the center after you roll each diaper up to hold it tight. These are the inner diapers for the cake.

Take the cake platter and place the 8-oz baby bottle or large bottle of baby lotion in the center. Then place about 5-6 diapers around the bottle and put a large rubberband around the entire ring of diapers.

The picture to the right is what your cake will look like at this point:
Next, form a 2nd ring with the remaining 11-12 diapers by placing them around the 1st ring of diapers. Complete it by placing a large rubberband around the 2nd ring.
Now for the final ring of diapers for the 1st tier: Take 18-20 diapers, unfold each one, roll them up tight like before, but instead of a rubber band around each one, tie a thin, 1/4 inch piece of ribbon around the middle around each one. Then place them around the second ring to form a 3rd ring. Now take a large, 1/2 to 1 inch wide ribbon and tie it around the entire tier to hold them all together in a circle shape.
(Note, you could use just rubberbands around each diaper for the 3rd ring if you have opaque ribbon to hold the 3rd ring together. The important part is that no rubberbands are showing when you are done.)
All right! you have made the 1st tier. Here is what it should look like:

Step 3. The second tier is made much the same way, only instead of 3 rings, you will only make 2 rings of diapers. Just like the 1st tier, the inside ring will need about 5-6 diapers. Part of the 8-oz bottle will be sticking out of the 1st tier, so place your 5-6 diapers around it to form the 1st ring of the 2nd tier. The 2nd ring will need 11-12 diapers. Place a ribbon around each one of those 2nd ring diapers and hold them all together in a circle with the 1/2 to 1 inch wide ribbon, just like before.
Here is what the finished 2nd tier will look like:

Step 4. Third tier is easy!
It is probably easiest to assemble this tier on a table and then place it on the rest of the cake after it is assembled. So, take a 4-oz bottle and place it on the table.

Then take 5-6 diapers and roll them up like before and tie them with the thin ribbon.

Then place them around the 4 -oz baby bottle and tie your wide ribbon around it to hold it together tightly in it's shape. Take the top tier and place it on the top.
Drum roll, please! And now for the finished product...

Your diaper cake will look similar to this one, with your own special twist! :]
Step 5. Now for the fun part:
Add little baby items like Pacifiers, bottles, lotion, bibs, receiving blankets, miniature stuffed animals, baby towel, onesie, wash cloths, baby hygiene products, toys, etc. Place them between the folds of the diaper, tuck the larger items into the outer layer of ribbon.

Add stickers and decorations to match the baby shower theme.

You can Place a stuffed animal, such as Winnie the Pooh, teddy bear, Elmo, angel, Precious Moments figurine, pair of baby shoes, or something else on top whatever you want to finish it out...

I can't wait to practice practice to make the perfect Diaper cake I am sure she will love it for her new baby.
