Just a few days ago Paris Jackson shared her beauty tips with the world on YouTube. Today, according to TMZ she tried to cheat life and leave this world with one less beauty by attempting to kill herself with a meat cleaver.

It might be easier to understand if she was broke, poor and alone, but Paris Jackson is none of those things.

She is the daughter of King of Pop and she is teaching us a life lesson.

Today more and more companies require their employees to get paid via direct deposit into their personal bank accounts instead of being paid by check. Even the government is doing it. Well she may be the wealthiest, but she is not the first African American to shine her light through the tube that we refer to as TV.

The first television station in the United States owned and operated by African Americans was WGPR-TV in Detroit, Michigan.

WGPR-TV was the station where (Where God’s Presence Radiates) and was founded by Attorney William Venoid Banks in 1975.

Now, that’s a colorful treat to love.

Today African Americans radiate television screens everywhere and Oprah now owns her OWN network.

What did Oprah Winfrey and Venoid Banks have in common?

They did not move in fear and their ambitions were not secret.

It’s hard to do when something or someone always seem to have their hand out right?

I know, I’m a mom and the kid-with-the-hand-out is certainly very familiar theme that plays on in our home on a daily basis.  Our little mini-mes want stuff.  They seem to be more abreast of the latest gadget just as much as we are the latest sales at the grocery store.  Our goals seem to compete.  We want to save i.e. scouring the net, papers, etc for sales and they want to spend.

When it comes to your tech savvy teen, preserving the cash you work so hard to earn can be just as technical as learning how to use an iPhone for the first time for some parents.

But, you don’t have to make what’s easy, difficult.  All you have to do is tell your teen the truth.
