5 Tips for Busy People to Get Fit Naturally Guest post: John Miller helps busy people get fit through his blog GetDadFit. Join us today for more helpful tips and a kick-start towards your fitness goals! I know you have the same excuse for getting into shape as so many others, lack of time. This is by far the most common excuse and you know that it is true that you only need to prioritize better. But the fact remains, time is limited to 24 hours a day and because of that we need to be smart about how we spend our time. Today I want to share my best tips to boost weight loss and get a lean body. Even when you feel like you don’t have any time at all simple changes can get you a long way towards your goals. Remove Time Thieves Time thieves are things that you barely know that you are doing that when summarized take up hours and hours of your week. If you’re really as busy as you think you shouldn’t have many of these time thieves in your life but consider the following for a moment. · Do you watch TV? Skip it and do something better with your time. You can catch up with the news online – it takes 5 minutes. · Do you plan your meals? Planning is everything if you want an effective agenda and planning your meals is a must for two purposes. First – by planning ahead it is easier to make the right choices. The healthy choice instead of the stressed choice. Second – it is time efficient. · Do you have clear goals? Without clear goals you spend time switching between different things, getting nothing done. Set clear goals for your fitness goals as well as other things in life and you have removed a lot of clutter. · Do you delegate? Your kids can actually help out at home! Delegate stuff so that you get time to work out. · Are you social? Social networks are amazingly good at stealing your time. Quit it and spend time with real people. This will also free up time to get fit. Start with any of these today. Stop watching TV for example is easier to do than you think. You don’t need it, it’s just a bad habit. Swap Food Weight loss and getting in shape starts in the kitchen. You can compensate a bad diet with exercise to a certain degree but why not try it the other way around. Swap out all bad foods and go for whole foods that is good for you instead. Vegetables, grass fed meat, wild caught fish and eggs from happy hens will take you such a long way. If you have a bad diet and switch to a better one you will not only live longer, you’ll also lose weight. Even without exercise. Workout with High Intensity High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is sort of a buzzword but truth be told scientists have found that you can get some serious health benefits from working out only 2 minutes 3 times a week! This is good news for most people, traditional cardio workouts are just not that efficient. Building muscle and doing sprint like exercise HIIT-style is very time efficient and gets you a fit lean body quicker. Do you have a stationary bike? Try the following. · Warm-up 5 minutes – mid tempo · 30 seconds high tempo (push hard, you should just be able to do 30 seconds) · 60 seconds low tempo · Repeat 30/60 for 15 minutes Or if you like running better. · 5 minute jog to warm-up · 60 second job · 30 second sprint · Repeat 60/30 for 15 minutes These exercises are really tough if you commit to it. Don’t Waste Time in the Gym Go to the gym. Wait for the right machines to be free. Shower. Go home. Sounds like an efficient workout? I don’t think so. With body weight training you can not only save your gym membership fee but also cut out more than 75% of the time it takes to work out. Crossfit training can be done in the gym as well but why not try some routines at home instead. You can get a full body workout without any equipment in 15 – 20 minutes. Take a shower and be done with it in 30 minutes or less. This is a popular routine you can do. Repeat 3 times. · 60 jumping jacks · 20 push-ups · 20 lunges · 20 Spiderman climb · 45 seconds wall squat · 45 seconds plank · 8 burpees · 25 high-knee jumps with both feet Sleep One often overlooked problem when you want to get fit is your sleep. Do you get enough? 7 – 8 hours is what most people need and if you don’t get enough it can seriously affect your chances to succeed. Being stressed and being tired are your enemies if you want to lose weight so make sure you are relaxed (try meditation) and rested. After you wake up in the morning you should also get a big glass of water to hydrate your body and get it ready for the day. Try it and notice the difference it makes.

Salvador Dali Painting Giveaway Winner! Last month I held a contest and ask my readers to pick a Dali painting and a frame from art.com and let me know why they like it on the LiveLearnloveleave Facebook page. There were a handful of participants all whose painting and frame choices were amazing. However Matthew Switzgable is the winner. I love his choice because the frame adds a nice affect to the painting and looks like a frame with in a frame. I felt like Matthew used the frame as a creative way to contribute to Dali’s work with out taking anything away from it. Matthew’s reason behind choosing the painting and frame is. “I like this painting beacause it has a fantastic three dimentional effect with the four sections in the middle, it has soothing colors, and is nicely balanced. I like the frame because it reminices of the four sections in the painting. i admire Salvador Dali because he used to think outside the box which is what an artist must do to create or help promote an artistic movement.I recently recieved my AA in studio art and when looking at his art i have been inspired. I usually like to make my art out of found materials to make it seem origional, but Salvador Dahli’s work has showed me that the media does not have to be different to make my artwork origional. Instead i should focus more on how the subject can be changed to relate to my feelings.” Matthew I hope this painting serves to inspire you for many years to come. Please use the contact form to send me your shipping address. Thanks everyone who submitted and entry.

Instead i should focus more on how the subject can be changed to relate to my feelings.”

Matthew I hope this painting serves to inspire you for many years to come. Please use the contact form to send me your shipping address. Thanks everyone who submitted and entry. I will probably do another giveaway soon so please check back often.

10 Great Undergraduate Degrees That You Can Earn Online Online education is no longer a rare occurrence among college students in America; in fact it’s quickly becoming the norm for young adults to choose online universities over their brick and mortar counterparts. As long as an online university is accredited by a legitimate regulatory body, there’s no reason to doubt that someone’s education there would be just as good as the one offered at a state college. To prove that point, here are ten online degree programs—each of which offers significant career opportunities—that a student could pursue today. Remember finding an online college and earning a degree is not difficult. You just have to set your mind and do it. 1. Graphic design Creative and artistic people would feel at home in the design program of most accredited online universities. A student could either pursue a specialty in graphic design through a bachelor’s degree in science or through a two-year associate’s degree that simply focuses on all the necessary elements of graphic design. You would work with experienced and knowledgeable graphic designers who would ensure that you master all the basic design programs and techniques. 2. Criminal Justice Many students choose to pursue a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice because of the field is always growing. Those who graduate with a criminal justice degree often go into careers in law enforcement, private investigation, or forensic science so they can do their part to ensure the safety of private citizens. Criminal Justice degrees are offered at nearly every accredited online university, so you’ll have no shortage of degree plans from which to choose from. 3. Psychology If you have a vested interest in the workings of the human mind, you might want to check out the classes for an online bachelor’s degree in psychology. The classes for this degree usual address behavioral sciences and psychological case studies so that students get a comprehensive perspective on the subject. If you want to pursue psychology at a graduate level, many accredited online universities also offer masters degrees in the discipline. 4. Public Administration and Policy Those with an interest in state and local government affairs or sociology would be interested in an online degree in public administration and policy. These degree programs would train you how to work and manage in the public sector, whether you’re working for an office in the department of a local government or looking to start up a nonprofit organization. This is a degree program for highly motivated and entrepreneurial persons. 5. Nursing Believe it or not, there are several valuable nursing degree programs offered from accredited online institutions. These online programs give students a thorough overview of the human body and pathologies so you have the competence to work in a medical setting. Then they teach you how to act in a variety of situations when dealing with patients, administrative staff at a medical facility, and doctors. Most nursing programs are quite extensive, and only meant for those serious about the subject. 6. Web Development If you’re interested in building websites and coding, you can turn that curiosity into a full blown degree program at most accredited online colleges. Through a bachelor’s degree in information technology, you can specialize in a program that focuses on training students in the nuances of web and app development, giving you the tools to build complex websites with skill. Even if you aren’t experienced with web development, the faculty will train you in the field until you become an expert. 7. Information Systems Management If you’re more of a manager than a programmer, then you can also specialize in a degree program that takes a more managerial approach to information technology. You’ll learn how to create complex computer networks, build and manage servers, and become savvy with just about any form of technology you can think of. Many companies require the permanent services of someone who specializes in information systems management, so this degree path is always a solid choice. 8. Communication If you’re not exactly sure about your future career, but you enjoy technology and the web, you can always start your online degree in the field of communications. The communications field caters to a wide array of tastes, from designers to film studies to advertising. The greatest strength of communications faculty and students is the abundance of creativity; you won’t go through a single class in this degree program without having to use all the creative power you can muster to complete a project. 9. Accounting If you’re more of a numbers person, there are a number of valuable degree programs in accounting to be found online. Accounting majors will study a number of computational math courses in addition to comprehensive classes on finance and tax law. Accounting will always be a viable career path, because companies will always need trained professionals to manage their finances and keep the books on point. 10. Management And then there is a degree program simply designed to make you a great manager. The classes for a bachelor’s degree in management will train you how to oversee and manage staff in any type of field, giving you lessons in human resources, psychology, and logistics so you can make smart choices in a work atmosphere. This is definitely a degree program for people who have innate leadership skills.

The post 10 Great Undergraduate Degrees That You Can Earn Online appeared first on Social Media Marketing, SEO Consultant.

Pinterest Button, How to Install a Pinterest Buttons On a Word Press Blog Follow me on Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/mrchichester/ Pinterest is a relatively new social media platform that allows you to “pin” or bookmark websites and pictures of things that you like. People can follow your Pinterest boards, which are groups of things that you have pinned and they can follow you as well. Pinterest is currently on fire right now and is set to be the next big thing in social media. Pinterest links are also great for SEO because currently (3.12.12) Pinterest allows do follow links for all of the links submitted to the website. That means that when someone pins your site you get a strong back link with solid SEO value from Pinterest, which currently has a Page Rank of 5. Who knows how long Pinterest will keep their links as do follows but for the time being here is how to socially optimize your Word Press blog and make it easy for your readers to Pin your posts. Two Easy Ways to Install the Pinterest Button on Your Word Press Blog Way One: Add Pinterest Button using Share Bar Plug-in: Click this link to learn how to install the share bar if you don’t already have it. 1. Go to http://pinterest.com/about/goodies and get your personal Pinterest button. NOTE: I received a few comments saying that the Pin It button was not pulling pictures from the post when you add it to the Share Bar. So use the code below as a work around and not the code from Pinterest.com. Credit for the work around goes to Tom from Pinwire.com. Thanks for the comments. I hope this helps. 2.Find the Share Bar in the Plug-in’s tab of the Word Press Dashboard and click Click Add New Button 3. Paste your Pinterest button code and add the position you want the button to be in regards to the other Share Bar buttons. Click enable and then click add button. 4. If you look at the bar on the left you will see that the Pin It button has been added to the top left of my Share Bar. Way Two: Add Pinterest Button using Pin It Plug-in 1. Go to plug-ins in your Word Press back end and search for “pin it” then click install on Pinterest “Pin It” button by Phil 2.Go to the Pinterest Plug-in settings and configure it the way you like 3. Once you save your changes go to your post and you will see that the Pin It button is added to the top of the page. Right above the title “Do URL Shorteners…” The other cool thing about this second way is that they give you a short code that you can use to add the Pin It button in the middle of your post just by pasting it in. This gives you an amazing amount of flexibility. I hope this helps you and if you have any questions please post them in the comments and I will help you the best I can. Happy Pinning!

The post Pinterest, How to Install a Pinterest Button On a Word Press Blog appeared first on Social Media Marketing, SEO Consultant.

2.Find the Share Bar in the Plug-in’s tab of the Word Press Dashboard and click Click Add New Button

3. Paste your Pinterest button code and add the position you want the button to be in regards to the other Share Bar buttons. Click enable and then click add button.

4. If you look at the bar on the left you will see that the Pin It button has been added to the top left of my Share Bar.

Way Two: Add Pinterest Button using Pin It Plug-in

1. Go to plug-ins in your Word Press back end and search for “pin it” then click install on Pinterest “Pin It” button by Phil

2.Go to the Pinterest Plug-in settings and configure it the way you like

3. Once you save your changes go to your post and you will see that the Pin It button is added to the top of the page. Right above the title “Do URL Shorteners…”

The other cool thing about this second way is that they give you a short code that you can use to add the Pin It button in the middle of your post just by pasting it in. This gives you an amazing amount of flexibility. I hope this helps you and if you have any questions please post them in the comments and I will help you the best I can. Happy Pinning!

Do URL Shorteners Hurt SEO? I have been doing some Search Engine Optimization link building work for a client and was asked, “Do URL shortners like Bit.ly hurt SEO?” Since the emergence of Twitter as a social media powerhouse URL shortners like Bit.ly have been used to shorten long links so that you can make the most out of the 140 character limit. URL shortners also track how many people have clicked, shared and interacted with the link that you shortened. This gives you very good information on how affective a social media property, website, Tweet or blog post is at engaging it’s audience. For example if I was doing a giveaway with another website I would shorten: http://livelearnloveleave.com to http://bit.ly/A5HuOQ . Then I would ask the website to make the anchor text “social media career advice” and link it to the Bit.ly link. Now to Answer The Question Bit.ly and all of the top URL shorteners use a 301 permanent redirect to link the anchor text to my shortened link preserving the link benefits. So no these URL shorteners do not hurt you SEO. They are extremely valuable for getting real time data from your blog partnerships and to see which types of post, Tweets or Facebook post work best to get a response from your audience. Here is Matt Cuts from Google explaining it in more details.

The post Do URL Shorteners Hurt SEO? appeared first on Social Media Marketing, SEO Consultant.

On Turning 30 Turning 30 is a big deal. But oddly enough when I woke up the morning of my birthday I still felt like I was still 13. When I was younger I lived in the Karate school and was always looking for ways to test myself. I remember climbing a mountain at the Camp Friend summer camp in Maine . My friend Zeek and I though it would be a good idea to test ourselves by hoping up the mountain from rock to rock. To make it harder we wore a 20lb weights vest and tied our feet together with a bandana. In retrospect it wasn’t the wisest or safest thing to do, but in the end we made it up the mountain. Somewhere between age 21-25 I lost touch with that Lavall. I was not training Karate, I was not challenging myself, and in a sense lost the essence of myself. Since I began training again I realized why I love Kyokushin Karate so much that I would invite my mother, fiancee and closest friends to train. The Basics of Karate Are the Same Basics That Make You A Man I realized that the basics of Karate are the same basics that make you a Good Man. Be rooted in your stance (choices, decisions) but still able to move and adapt Have compassion for others, nurture the under belts and those your are responsible so that you can help them to grow Don’t talk about it, do it. Your actions should lead the way not your voice. To never give up and always find away to overcome obstacles no matter how bleak a situation is Always push yourself to be a better person than you were yesterday physically, mentally and spiritually Put 100% into the things you do all the time or don’t do them Stay consistent to develop your skills Skills pay the bills. Keep learning new ones and developing the ones you have How I Celebrated: 30 1 min Fights (Click the video below to watch some of the fights) I turned 30 ,Thursday February 9th 2012. I decided that I wanted to do a 30 man Kumite (fight) to celebrate the 0cassion. That means I wanted to fight 30, 1 min rounds with everyone in the Dojo (Karate School). Since I drank myself silly celebrating my birthday from 21-29, I decided that this year had to be different. I have also rededicated my life to Kyokushin Karate and wanted to push myself. I lost a fight a while back because my opponent was good and I was out of shape, I then tested for my brown belt and was also out of shape. It was these two moments that made me decide to either quit or train for real. Since then I have created a solid 3 hour a day training regime, so fighting 30 1 minute rounds of varying intensities was the best way to test myself. I wanted to find out: If my training was paying off because 30 minutes of anything is tiring, so 30 mins of fighting should be a good test Will I feel the same way about Kyokushin Karate when I was finished Test the waters because for Black Belt I have to fight 15-40 fight one and a half minute fights Conclusion My 30 man began after a grueling 45min work out. When it was done we we did about a hundred more punches and then sat in seiza to say our Dojo Kun (or Dojo Oath) which you can read below. During the Dojo Kun I was overcome with tears of joy. I realized that most of the people in the Dojo are literally my family or friends I have known for a very long time. I was happy to be able to do something I love and share the moment with them. I believe that everyone should learn how to protect themselves and walk on the path of self reflection that Karate is. So I am not only dedicated to finding myself through training, I am dedicated to encouraging my friends and loved ones to do the same. The 30 man Kumite taught me that I love Kyokushin Karate even more, that I should train harder because my training has paid off, and if I keep training my black belt test should be easy. Thanks again for the birthday well wishes and I hope you enjoyed this post and the video. Check out where I train here: Brooklyn Kyokushin Karate Brooklyn Kyokushin Karate. Dojo Kun The Dojo Kun or Dojo Oath is a pact you make with yourself to strive to be a better person everyday. We recite it every class to remind ourselves why we study Karate. We will train our hearts and bodies for a firm unshaking spirit. We will pursue the true meaning of the Martial Way, so that in time, our senses may be alert. With true vigour, we will seek to cultivate a spirit of self denial. We will observe the rules of courtesy, respect our superiors, and refrain from violence. We will follow our religious principles, and never forget the true virtue of humility. We will look upwards to wisdom and strength, not seeking other desires. For all our lives, through the discipline of karate, we will seek to fulfill the Kyokushin Way.

The post On Turning 30, Reflections appeared first on Social Media Marketing, SEO Consultant.

Diego Rivera,Top 60 Paintings and Murals Diego Rivera was born in Guanajuato, Mexico in 1886 and is arguably the best Mexican painter of the 2oth century. Known for his passionate romance with Frida Kahlo , his beautiful frescos and his strong political views; Diego Rivera had a lasting effect on the international art world. He is credited with the reintroducing and popularizing of fresco painting in modern art and architecture. Early on Diego Rivera was inspired by the Cubism movement and the likes of painters like Pablo Picasso and Paul Cézanne‘s.

Are You Ready for Facebook Timeline? If you are one of the countless individuals that has been holding on to there traditional Facebook page, now may be the time to make the transition over to the Facebook Timeline. Whether you like it or not, everyone, as stated by Facebook, will be receiving the new Timeline profile in the next couple of weeks. So why is Facebook choosing to do this? Before all out panic occurs, you may want to stop and consider some of the perks to the new Facebook Timeline feature: Branding Running blogs and pages on multiple sites can be an expensive and timely endeavor for any individual whether they be a Toronto life coach or a Los Angeles stylist. However, with the new Timeline feature you can essentially have a micro blogging platform from which you can launch marketing campaigns and effective customer engagement discussions and contents. Not only are you able to better engage your customers, but you are overall able to construct a better image of yourself as the constant scrolling feature will allow Friends and Fans to screen you over a longer period of time – which also affords for better online reputation management. Better Navigation Bar If you aren’t used to Facebook Timeline, there is a good chance that for the first few minutes you will just stare at it wondering how to navigate around it. While it may initially seem like a giant slurry of posts and pictures, the Timeline actually makes navigation easier. Although scrolling is endless on the new interface, there is a better navigation bar at the top that allows everyone – including interested customers, followers, or employers, to find you more easily whether you are an established business, a recent college grad seeking employment, or a Montreal life coach looking to gain clients. Large Profile Picture Whether you are a business or an individual seeking to gain recognition, the large, prominent cover shot is definite nothing to scoff at. This larger image immediately allows you to set the tone for the image you wish to create, and makes branding that much easier. In addition to the aforementioned features, the Facebook Timeline will have a variety of other features that will simply make Facebook a more sociable experience. Social media is a must for anyone looking to carve their spot out in the world, and embracing new features and user interfaces just comes with the territory. So before you are forced to take Timeline, consider opting to download it now so you have adequate time to play around and adapt. Because whether you are ready for it or not, it has arrived and you will be using it on Tuesday! Here is a video from Facebook that teaches you how to customize your timeline.

The post Facebook Timeline, Are You Ready For It? appeared first on Social Media Marketing, SEO Consultant.
