Nowhis but uh... with the song having a sunday church vibe id like to bring up "Holy Key" recently released of the upcoming album Major Key from Dj Khaled.

With all the current occurrences happening in our communities it hard not to be vocal about it right? Of course not! Big Sean/Kendrick Lamar and{ Betty Wright .. which I've never heard of but sister has some strong vocal chords (inserts claps) } bought us a strong song with chilling lines , just enough to get you thinking with lines such as "police practicing targets with real bodies", "if it adds a couple years of our lives might go vegan" and more.

Have you listened?CLICK HERE! Overall the song is popping but who you think had the strongest rhyme?.... If you ask me... BIG SEAN!.. in the last line ?? Yea listen for yourself.

Of course people as a side note; in the midst of the chaotic have a clear mind. level head and meditate during this time and send love and light to our bro and sis during this time cause we have the Holy Key to change the future for generations to come.

Juneteenth Atlanta 2016

Yesterday was the first of the 3 day Juneteenth Festival. A festival celebrating the gain of freedom of our ancestors from slavery. July 4th is a celebration America's freedom which has nothing to do with melaninated people.
LYFE is a vendor at Booth 47 selling organic coconut oil based soaps based out of Lousiana named Bayou Soaps. Also on the sell list is a Jamu stick and eczema oil .

Anyone that knows me will testify I am a naturalista when it comes to things of the home , hair etc; meaning I like making everything from scratch. Here's a question for you? What is your belief? Christian? Baptist ? "Atheist"? For the past three years I've noticed people just doing their own thing when it comes to spiritual beliefs, practices and thoughts. It's like the christian population is dying down and people are just getting down with the so called "New Age " ways. If you don't know what that is it entails psychic reading, chakras, pyramids, basically Consciousness. Conscious of what you ask? Conscious of your own being and who and what is in this universe we live in.

As for me , sometimes I try to find a balance of how I feel and my thoughts of the things I've learned since leaving the nest of my parents. I was once a youth pastor ( seem so long ago ) singing praises to the Lord every Sunday. Then my perspectives had changed. Sometimes I reminisce of those times and how I felt spirituality. Lets just say life is pretty different when you now know there isn't a mysterious man in the sky judging you; or am I being judged? By whom ? hmm (too deep for y'all lol ). What are you afraid of? Criticism? Losing your supporters? If living unapologetically is the outcome then so be it. I fight with myself daily of all the things I want to be doing with my life or rather be doing in that moment. In my true essence all I want to do is service the community, do yoga and be in my spirituality. But its hard to do that when you have limitations on yourself not allowing yourself to be just that. Recently I moved into a house and today is my first day really being alone with my thoughts and boy they were talking to me.

Let me honest with myself and you. Opinions really matter to me from parents to my life partner to the slightest people because I always want to seem "perfect". Im not! We all are not! Should I apologize for it? Should I apologize for my realization I'm bi- sexual? Should I be apologetic because its not what I "should be"? Does it make me less connected to the source? As I was journalling my higher self was telling me ultimately JUST BE!! and stop holding myself captive in my mind. Live your truth people !! live!!

People my dear people do you think this is flattering or culture vulture activity going on here? Nike is soon to release a black history line January 18th (thank you Saint Heron for the informational article). The line is to appreciate the melanated stars who have contributed to sports through out the years.

Their form of appreciation is showing and selling is kente cloth sneakers and gear. If that didn't seem redundant to you let me put it in another way.The general public is to be sold colorful sneakers with dark undertones and patterns resembling the black culture and passing it you the customer; to buy expensive gear because you are acknowledging black history.

But wait there is more..Valentino released their Spring/Summer 2016 clothing line and what does it entail?... You guessed it! More tribal wear! I'm flattered these brands are interested in the culture and things we naturally wore as people;but to sell it back to us as if it something new? I understand/appreciate the level of creativity that went into these process,but if this doesn't make people of color start their own business idk what would.

Don't feed into the hype people! Create your own or support others who sell something similar within your community. Trade your dollars with those you support and are like minded. A workshop for business women to get insight of how to improve their business as well get tips on business secrets. The event was bought to us by @iambrittanyalexis; a graphic designer who has worked with Karen Civil,Cupcake Mafia and many others. Event was held at Lenox Cupcakes in Atlanta this past Saturday. The event was inspiring for myself and other business women. I left with insight and hopefulness for my entrepreneur future.

After 2 years of being at my comfortable job I put in my resignation. Yup not cause I had a complete plan what to do next (although I had an idea) but I told myself after a certain time I'd quit and pursue my dreams. If we continue to make excuses for ourselves we will stay in the same predicament . "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone" a friend told me. Certainly it was comfortable to stay in the job but felt even worse settling.

Over the weekend I had the experience of attending a event put together by @iceatlanta. An event of numerous business owners coming together in one location to sell their goods with the community. The event took place at the Georgia Freight Depot in Atlanta near Underground. The burst of creativity filled the place from bohemian chic jewelry/ clothing, natural products and hand crafted goods.

I spoke to a few business owners to get insight of their journey in business and passions for their craft. Everyone had a unique story! What I noticed many business owners had stressed if you have a passion; PURSUE IT!! As I heard that more and more through out people's stories the more inspired I was to do the same. I enjoyed the experience and will possibly be a vendor net year. Its all about taking that step of faith right?

How Incorporating Bitter Foods Can Prevent The Flu

Since fall brings shorter days and colder days it is necessary to have strong immune system during this season. Some ways to build a strong immune system is eating/ drinking bitter foods. Bitters tend to have many benefits to fight pathogens in the body; preventing the flu.

Incorporating veggies such as kale, turmeric, dandelions, ginger in tea or meals can make a difference in the body. An example of how I take in my bitters or auto immune herbs is by juicing. Juicing an vegetable/ fruit increases the intake of vitamins/benefits verses using it in cooking other ways, not to mention it gets into your system quicker.

I opted to incorporate dandelion into my juicing routine and it wasn't so bad ..after I had a couple of apples of course.
You can get these ingredients at your grocery store( I suggest a farmers market). Make its organic! A good juicer can run as low as $30 and up.

Finally I have found a vegan soap!! While searching through Nubian Hueman ; I found Bayou Soap. A natural vegan soap line made with natural saponified coconut oil, clays, resins, fragrance oil . Located in Louisiana my shipment of soaps came within 2/3 days. Once I received the package the aroma excited me. At first I was skeptical if the high fragrance would effect my skin but no problems here. The scents I got were Rasta which smells a lot like berries as well as kush which has a scent of incense , and mango grapefruit with a warming smell. Shop here for the soaps! Oh me oh my.. its practically 1am and I can not sleep because of so much ideas popping inside my head. Lately I've been busy creating a holistic + spiritual line. Im here getting wrapped up in all the details such as labeling while setting up other avenues like instagram and youtube.

About two weeks ago after coming home from a tough day at work I thought to myself; You are more than this Natasha!! Then an idea came to mind. How about you make a video involving the community of people expressing what they are more than! Rather than just thinking of things I got out my hole and went out and did just that.

So far the project has been coming along great. I feel energized creating and vibing with people. When I ask a person "What are you more than".. it takes them a minute to think, because we don't typically think about that huh? We are always looking outward of what people think of us but what about you? What do you think. What are you more than? More than a teacher, a preachers daughter? What? Ask yourself this, Look within.

On behalf of @Kemeticarts24 on instagram I discovered this awesome song. The song shows awareness of how western religion has conquered and influenced eastern cultures. What most people fail to understand "black magic " is ancient than any religion. It is a culture.
The lack of understanding and the stigma of it being "evil" people turned away from it in exchange for the oppressors religion. Yes it is powerful and serious and it can be used for negative and positive purposes. It all has to do with the priest your dealing with and the motive. The power is tapped into from ancestoral energies and the almighty force. Nothing different from religions of today. It just looks "spooky" because of the dealing with dark matter i.e melanin. Makes sense? Yea it can get really deep . Fact of the matter is The artist Azizaa is unapologetic she is a "Black Magic Woman".

"White People" Documentary Talks About Privileges And Discrimination

Interesting documentary on MTV popped up on my feed. Titled "White People" narrated by Jose Vargas. An documentary to open conversation with the white community. The documentary had shed light on their view points from privileges to opinions of other cultures around them.

Watching doesn't change my perspective of caucasians; actually it proved them to be accurate. For example; while at the dinner table in a scene the word "ghetto" is bought up and how white people are shallow/ two faced.... I've seen my dose of this in my reality.

My opinion on white people; You have some cool people due to evolution of mixing with other cultures or upbringing and some you have to watch due to programming, history and genetics. I don't hate them but I am aware of my history as a melaninated being. Not only being enslaved and taken from our native lands as well stole our history, changed it and deeming Yoruba (Voodun) (our original spiritual practice not religion) as demonic and many other things.

I understand we are all spirits living a human experience and I deal with everyone as an individual but I won't forget the cause and effects of our history. Enough of my ramble.. watch it for yourself

DIY SMUDGE STICKS AND ITS ANCIENT HISTORY

Have you heard of a smudge stick? I like to call it a clarifying wand because that what it's used for...clarifying. Ancient cultures gather herbs such as cedar and most common; sage. These herbs are gathered naturally form the wild binded together dried for 2 weeks and burned. The reason for the burning is to cleanse the atmosphere of negative and adding positive energy.

While at the farmers market I laid my eyes on sage and I grabbed it for 1.29 a bunch. When I went home and expeimented on making my own smudge stick verse buying them.

What you will need::
Herbs of choice..
Sage
Planet:Jupiter
Characteristics: Cleansing and grounding

Rosemary:
Plant:Sun
Characteristics: Protection and purification

Hemp Cord (not thread..i tried)
Scissors

Instructions::
Gather herbs
Wrap bottom stems repeatedly till tight.
Add slight dash of water to keep tamed throughout the process
Wrap till top
Wrap back down
during the process connected cord by tying together.
