Because of the rainy gloominess I keep feeling like posting grey photos on these days. But I am not minding the warm grey rainy ones as long as they are followed by shiny sunny ones. This Spring storm is making me thing of netted veils and long bangs with longer curls for cover, not realistic I know but that's what blogs are for, fantasizing;) Enjoy the storm lovers.

Something about these images feels like today. Funny how nostalgia works which is also why I love it with perfumes. Even though it is way too rainy to be outside and it is almost summer, the starkness of the bare trees in the woods takes me back to a grey, gloomy but glorious type of day growing up in them. Plus the coat and high boots is all I want to wear right now in the drench of the storm. I also just came back from my friend's apartment that has leopard print throughout, with our dogs but we're really in New York City so the cape coat and subway is more where it's at and reminds me of those two lives. And I love Grace Coddington and am still dreaming of red hair. There ya go! Don't worry - just more flowers with come out of this rain, and then Summer, and then Fall.

Obsessed with these plats right now (by Bottega Venetta, Robert Clegerie...and this ruby and gold vine ring that Keith Richards gave Patti Hansen as an engagement ring. I just acquired a deep purple dress (pics to come) and I want to wear this with it. This is wear I'm at.

Yes I make perfume oils and I don't dig most modern or otherwise chemically perfumes(unless it is along the likes of Roja Dove or more authentic artists) but I do love old school (or new) real perfumes originally made of pure essences and alchemy. I always did. Sitting with my oils from Grateful Dead shows and Woodstock were my Mom's old Halston, Opium and Cacharel LouLou and my Grandma's heady florals, chypres and muskier lady perfumes...and sometimes soft less ladylike musks but luring all the same. I took a liking to those skin musks for a while myself. I adore old Guerlain perfumes like L'Heure Bleu(named after my favorite time of day-Magic Hour) and even classic but contradictory Mitsouko not only for their real scents but also their beautiful bottles. The whole of it which is what it should be, like it was when there were far fewer perfumers and they were each their own entity rather than a dime a dozen. Quality was favored over quantity. This still exists here an there and this is what I always aim like an arrow to hit - special relics reminiscent of someplace, someone or something with the best purest oils (and sometimes musk because I am still in love and just can't break away). Luxury but louche, pure but permeating, nostalgic but natural. I want to make beautiful bottles like these one day and then I just want to dress up my dresser with those and all of the vintage ones that I collected still smelling slightly of what was once inside and reminding me of the same.

I love Sunday. You have probably noticed this. Maybe it's because I am a Leo or maybe it's because I am from NJ and there were Blue Laws on Sunday = rest day, but I just do. Feeling airy nature today, vintage overalls(though wishing still searching) or jeans, my vintage tassled loafers barefoot. Recording all day - need to be comfy;) Have a beautiful one.

I had an audition yesterday I decided to get creative for and blow my curls out. I woke up this morning and they were going back to themselves = curls have a mind of their own. They can not be controlled. No wonder I have curly hair. Anyway, while they are still sort of listening I am back into barrettes and loving these Hole ones I saw somewhere on Tavi Gevinson and big but basic one from an old Marc Jacobs show. I have those from the drug store. Yeah - think that's what I will do until they are amassed as a big bunch on my head...or until I wash them. Oh yeah and there is some theme with these photos with strawberry again, it was subconscious but obviously conscious- I'm not there yet-it's the filter on my pic but sweet, I dig it. Today is a day (another, I wore them yesterday) for my Anna Sui patched vintage Levi's, which makes complete sense because I just remembered that as a kid I had a pair of jeans I refused not to wear every single day, they ripped in the knees so my mom patched apples on them. Looks like I am following in the same pattern again...I also recently remembered these Levi's that were actually a guy friend's that I cut at the bottom and patched back in my grandest Grateful Dead days. I gave them away I guess and I missed them. And then I found these. Right on.

Though the temps might be moving more towards dreamier ones here out east, I found myself dreaming of out west with it's dusty mountains that smell like eucalyptus and jasmine, in which I was recently reminded by listening to old Frusciante albums, reading a post on stylist Karla Welch and her cool posh punk looks slash printed (Chloe, Rodarte and Erdem) dresses on The Coveteur and perusing Daughters of the Revolution's flowing floral maxis and pretty peasant hippy dresses. Karla hangs her dresses outside on a tree in this article (I think I need to be able to do that - barefoot or in big black boots), as Daughters of the Revolution owner Emily Cadenhead swings her little girl Pearl in willowy white ones. Calling out to the canyons of yesteryear with Joni and all the songstresses in sundresses and rockers riling.

Today is Kurt Cobain's birthday and he would've been in his 40's - not to tell my age (I am younger than he would've been) but I was around in the 90's and it was some of my favorite fashion and music - still. Its on my rotation a lot when I am mixing oils, I always listen to music when I mix my perfumes. And anyone who knows me knows I've been sporting my docs for years, love fuzzy oversized sweaters and cardys, worn in tees, some stripes and ripped jeans. I get a lot of it at Grey Era who specializes in 90's vintage. I also remember wearing angel or winged jewelry like this one I saw on Etsy, as well as the raddest platform boots, like these vintage ones I snapped on this girl Trisha the other day. They were a friend of her's from the 90's. Lucky. I wish I didn't give all that stuff away. I like heart shaped boxes and I just had my hair dip dyed pink by Bleach London so I guess I'm still in a moment. I do have a friend in the band The Dead Mary's that sort of looks like Kurt (we used to joke about this back then and have jam sessions-he plays a mean bass/guitar) and his band rocks if you want to experience a little bit of that plus more-check them out. Wear your big sweaters.

Set like a play in 70's San Francisco Goldie's character goes from barely naked to donning hippie tops as well. Freedom always has a price.
