I know its been a while since I've wrote a bit about whats going on in my life.

I know, I'm a horrible blogger!

haha.

Well anyway, I started back to college last week. Woohoo! Yay Spring Semester!

I only have like 4 classes since I kind of messed up on my choices in the fall.

I'm taking Creative Process, Photo2& Studio, and Digital Imaging 1.

All my classes are going pretty well. They're all art classes, so I've been really working my creative bone.

In Creative Process we've been talking about being child like in our sense of the world, and looking at things. We made drawings of something that we did during our free play time. I drew this sweet drawing of Kitty as a lion. I drew her as a lion because when I was little, a lot of times I would pretend I had to like, defeat/run away from an evil dragon, or some kind of villain. Usually during these times, my cat was the villain. One time I pretended that she was a ferocious lion that was out to get me. Those free play experiences are what inspired my drawing, which I later went over with sharpie to make it look more like a coloring page, which emphasized the child like sense.

I know its not perfect or anything, but I really like it!

Today in that class we got to use our sweet little water colors to make a postcard!

Chelsea n I had lots of fun with this!

They're not quite finished, but I can't wait to see how they all turn out.

Photo class has been a bit of a brain twister. haha. I forgot how much little stuff I've forgotten since Photo 1!

But luckily Allyson is a really good teacher and helps us refresh and learn in every way she can. We just got our first photo assignment today! Its a treasure hunt, so I'm really excited to get started on it.

I would have started it today, but I've been having some problems with my film camera and need to find a new one ASAP.

Yay for technology breaking!

Digital Imaging has been really fun so far. Our first project is to take at least 4 pics of animals and photoshop them together to create a "monster".

Super fun project, I know!

This is my monster so far.

His name is Phil.

He's part Komodo dragon, horse, red tailed hawk, and soon to be lion.

He's not all together yet.

I think hes cool, man!

He looks kind of big n ploddy, but he could kill you in about 2 minutes with his super poisonous komodo dragon spit.

No really.

Komodo Dragons bites are so deadly that their saliva will cause flesh to rot almost immediately. If you get bitten in real life, you usually die of septicemia in a few minutes.

Intense stuff.

Now imagine if that thing is fast and could fly.

That would be Phil.

So don't be fooled by his expression. He could still hurt ya.

Except. In my imagination, hes sort of gentle, and cant hurt me because I built up an immunity to his poison spit. Also, I raised him from an egg. haha.

Yeah. I've kind of been embracing this pretending and seeing things as a child thing.

*FYI. I'm not crazy.

Anywho. That's pretty much what I've been up to lately. Sadly, college consumes most of my life when its in session.

I'll definitely keep you all updated on future projects, and of course, Phil.

Natural House Natural Household Cleaning Products Review & Giveaway!

I recently received a set of Natural House's amazing natural household cleaning products for review. The pack I got contained Trashy, Sinky, and Flushy,

These products work really really well! I especially liked the fact that they not only cleaned and disinfected, but are safe for my family and pets to be around as well!

I used the Trashy product to disinfect my trash cans in the house, as well as the outside trash cans. Those are the worst because they are always outside, and hold garbage bags until the weekly trash pick up.

In the summertime, we would even sometimes get maggots in them.

GROSS!

Well, I definitely scrubbed them down with the Trashy spray, which went to work immediately with its foaming action, getting rid of all those nasty smells and replacing it with a fresh clean scent.

It not only got rid of the "trashy" smells, it kept them away for weeks!

This is probably my favorite product out of them all, just because its a simple and effective way to get rid of those icky smells!

I definitely recommend it if you have a baby, and are looking for something to wipe down those diaper pails with. This will surely clean them up in no time!

Another of the products I got was Sinky. Sinky comes in these little packets, and you put them in your sink or garbage desposal, and they work to break down all the icky grease and food remains to keep your drains clog and odor free!

It's sometimes scary to think of all the ickiness that's just living and thriving in your drains. Sinky can help to put your mind at ease, to know that your drains are clean and safe. I especially loved how the packet foamed up to really get all the grime down there. I've been using it weekly, and its really kept everything going down smoothly, just as it should.

The last product I got was Flushy. Flushy is a toilet bowl cleaner and septic tank treatment.

If you've ever had to have your septic tank pumped or anything, you know just how how annoying and icky those sort of problems can be.

Flushy can help prevent those problems by consuming toilet paper and waste build up in your drain pipes, as well as going to work cleaning the calcium and hard water stains in the bowl itself.

It's as easy to use, just drop the packet in your toilet, and flush!

Using it every week, is sure to improve the health of your septic system.

Basically, I loved all three of these natural household cleaning products. They are safe, environmentally friendly, packed with cleaning power, and keeps cleaning long after you stop!

My Ghetto Drawer Makeover!

Last week I decided that my "ghetto drawers" were do for a bit of a facelift.

I saw this sweet idea on pinterest and decided to do something similar, but slightly more awesome.

;)

So I found some SUPER CUTE high quality wrapping paper at TJ Maxx (for just $3.99!), and went to work.

*sorry about the pic quality. I just has my iTouch.

First I cut my wrapping paper to the size of my drawers

I cut my pattern into two pieces rather than make a slit, like in the original tutorial.

Oops!

Also, to spice it up. I printed out cut outs to label my drawers with. These hold some of my clothes, so I tried to pick clever things to label them with, and of course, My Little Ponies!

After getting everything prepped and ready I applied a generous layer of modge podge print outs first, and then on top of them and on the rest of the drawer. Then smoothed the paper on it, rubbing out as many bubbles as I could along the way.

Then I applied a layer of modge podge on top of the paper I just put down.

You are never going to get out every bubble, so its ok if its not exactly perfect.

Basically I repeated those steps for the top half, and the rest of the drawers and Tada!

But evil never works alone and a man with his own mysterious connections to Iris will do anything to stop her.

Review:

When I originally chose to review Iris and the Dragonflies, I'd planned to read it to Miss *a*. We've recently been enjoying the Narnia books, and it seemed rather similar. A few chapters in, I realized it might be a bit over her head...and frankly, it was so enjoyable, I couldn't stop long enough to read out loud.

The target audience for this is actually closer to the twelve year old range, and even then, the author uses some words that might send them running for a dictionary, not that that's a bad thing. (Most adults I asked weren't sure the definition of "insidious".) Regardless, this book is a wonderful read for adults as well, especially those of us raised on the works of CS Lewis and the like.

A blend of modern day, and Celtic legend, many can relate to poor Iris, frustrated with knowing she's special and being told that her imagination is wild, and that she must leave such talk behind. Saved by her understanding mother, and her believer grandmother, Iris stands firm in her belief that "There are more things in this world than are dreamt of in your philosophies." as Shakespeare would say.

Although parts of the modern day dialogue come off stilted, the author has clearly done her research, and the myths and stories of yesteryear flow easily off her pen. I highly recommend this book for any reader who feels a kinship to the stories of old, or who has ever taken refuge in their imagination.

Thrifting in Cbus!

Yesterday was a pretty amazing day.

I set off early in the morning to go thrift store shopping in Columbus with some of my friends.

We always have a ton of fun when we go up there, so I was pretty stoked about it all week.

I definitely wasn't disappointed!

We had a blast!

First, we went to the Ohio Thrift in Grove City and found tons of stuff. I usually get things to sell on eBay, but I also found some cute clothes for myself which is always a big plus!

We also found this one of a kind shirt:

Yes. Those are a TON of different buttons, all around the neckline.

We loved it! haha.

We always try to find the oddest things at the thrift store. It's pretty fun!

We also found this amazing sweater.

Even though I thought the rhinestone kitty was super cute, having that on a green turtleneck, just crosses a line.

After hitting the Ohio Thrift stores, we decided it was time for lunch, so we stopped at Applebee's for some of their amazing eats.

I split a spinach & artichoke dip with my friend, and I had a Chicken Penne.

SO good!

After our stop at Applebee's we headed to Easton so we could check out the stores, and I could use my Victoria's Secret gift card.

We also made a quick stop at Trader Joe's. I've never been there before, but I can say, it is AMAZING. We found quite a few great bargains, including a jug of spiced cranberry cider for just 99 cents.

Yumm!

We also got to sample some of their amazing dark french roast coffee. It was amazing, so smooth and strong, but not bitter.

After Trader Joes we officially headed into Easton and made a b line for Anthropologie.

If you've never been there, you MUST.

They have some pretty amazing stuff.

I found these cute little mugs monogrammed with my initial!

I also loved the sweet rhino and zebra heads!

We also smelled this collection of perfumes in there that was TO DIE FOR. They were, no joke, amazing.

Sara sprayed on like 5 different ones. haha

They were all from the Lollia collection.

Easton is SO beautiful in the winter. They have a ton of Christmas lights up, and at night its just stunning. I wish you all could see it, but since I can't take you all to Easton, I'm gonna end this post with a few pics of the place.

I had a wonderful time! I can't wait to plan our next trip up!.
