Didn't Get Coupons.....

2011-10-10T10:13:00.000-07:00

So did you get the Dr. Pepper and Purina Dog food coupons in your inserts? I have had quite a few people let me know that they did not. The only think that I can figure out, is that each of them bought their papers at the store. And either someone went to each store and just took those coupons (pretty unlikely) or what I think has happened is that Smart Source, Red Plum and others might be just starting to put out the high value coupons just in the subscription papers, not the store papers.
Has this happened to you? Did you buy your paper from the store or was it delivered to your home?
If you didn't get them and you do want to get a subscription for just $1.00 per paper and your daily paper for free then head over here and get the info. Give them a call today and make sure you don't miss anymore high value coupons!! DON'T FORGET TO GIVE THEM THE CODE: LIVING P2P or else you will be billed the normal rate!!!

Walmart Deals ~ Week of 10/9

2011-10-10T01:38:00.000-07:00

There were some OK deals at Walmart this week. I have listed the best match ups below. Remember before you head out to the store to make sure you have both the Store Coupon Policy and their Ad Match Policy. I have found that each store tries to make their own rules so it helps to have their coupon policy with you. Print yours here. I am sure that I can't get all the match ups in the store, so I am sure you will find some (please email or message me with your great finds!!) but remember to know what coupons you can and can't used at Walmart. Walmart will take competitor's coupons, they will ad match and between those two and their low prices, you can find some awesome deals there sometimes.

First I wanted to tell you about some awesome deals on the clearance shelf today. Check out your local Walmart to see what you can find.

I found these large refill bottles of Mr. Clean on cleanse for $1.00 from $2.47. I had a coupon that I got from Right At Home for $.75 off, making them just $.25 each.

Then I was able to find some Resolve Stain Remover. This was a super deal! On clearance for $1.50 from $6.77. Which is a great deal on its own. Then I found a coupon for another $.75 off making it just $.75 each. ~ Can't beat that deal!!

Then I found Tide HE for just $2.50 on sale from $7.54. I was able to add a coupon to make it just $2.00 each.

The last deal that I found on clearance was Swiffer Wet Jet 18 pack of pad refills. These were $2.75 on sale from $8.74. I did not have a coupon for these and they were not the greatest buy but I needed them.

So when you hit of your Walmart this week, let me know what deals you find. ~ Now onto this weeks match ups. I have placed a pink star ★ next to the SUPER STOCK UP DEALS (this means this is a rock bottom deal, purchase what your family will use to get you through to the next sale cycle.) Good deals I have placed a black star ★ next to (this means, if you need it get a few, this is a decent deal just not a stock up deal.)

Halloween Costumes for little to no cost

2011-10-08T15:00:00.000-07:00

So Halloween is less then a month away.... do you know what you or your kids are going to be? This year has been hard for us, it seems like our kids have changed their minds 10 times so far.
For the last few years I have tried to make my kids Halloween costumes. Not only can you create something that no one else will be wearing but it seems to be a lot cheaper. It kills me to have them go pick out a costume that they will once and will cost us $30 plus dollars. I don't know about you but I can think of many other things to spend that money on!! So I have tried to put together a few good ideas for cheap to no cost costumes for you.
A few years ago I thought it would be cute to make my 3 girls into Hersey Kisses for Halloween. I didn't have a pattern, OK lets face it, even if I did, I can't sew so there was no chance that it would help me. So I just headed to the craft store and I looked around for something to make it. I ended up buying Quilting Hoops. They come in 2 pieces, I took the middle piece out and that is what I used for the bottom of their costumes. I found some cheap fabric that looked like foil. I also bought some white ribbon, the kind with wire in it. I made 3 purchases so I could maximise my coupons and I believe it ended up being around $30.00 for all 3 costumes.
I wrapped the fabric around the hoops and brought it up in a cone shape. I cut holes for their arms, and head. Then I took some old birthday hats I had laying around and took some extra fabric and covered them and puffy painted the ribbon to say Hersey's and glued it to it. It took me maybe 2 days on and off to make these and they were cheap. And let me tell you, everyone thought they were super cute!!

One thing I would recommend... We drove them from family to friends house and back and forth.... these were hard to get on and off for each stop and by the end of the night they were not happy campers. So if you can, stay at home or just around your house. :) Also I used brown sweats and a brown turtleneck shirt for them to wear, this kept them warm and make them look like chocolate under their outfit.

The next year the weather forecast for Halloween was looking pretty cold and super wet. We live in WA. so most Halloweens are cold and rainy. And most of the costumes are covered up by coats because they are not enough to keep the kids warm. So I was bound and determined to make them something that would keep them warm and dry for the night.

I made them into Jelly Fish. I took clear umbrellas ($10.00 each) and some bubble wrap (free on craigslist) and some clear packing tape to hold the strips of bubble wrap on ($2.00 for the roll) and because some jelly fish glow I taped blue glow sticks inside ($1.00 at the dollar store). So each costume was around $11.00 and they got their very own new umbrella to use afterwards. This costume was super cheap and only took me maybe 30 mins each to make. Which was kinda funny to me when they made it on all the local new channel's as the best costume to stay warm and dry in for Western Washington. They all wore jeans and a white shirt and their coat and everyone loved their costumes.

If you decided that making a costume is just not for you or your don't have time to do it. Here are some great sites to buy your costume and get great deals. If you go to the local party store they are going to charge you double what these sites will so check these out first.

Have you make your kids a cheap and fun Halloween costume? I would love to hear about it. Please share it with me!! Have a safe, warm and happy Halloween everyone!!

Nivea Lip Care ~ Better then Free

2011-10-05T11:54:00.000-07:00

There was a super deal spreading today about the Nivea Lip Care $1.00 each at Safeway. This deal paired up with the $3.00/2 coupon (RP 10/2) will make them free. Free is definitely a stock up price! But I wanted to see if I could get paid. I headed to Walmart and ad matched them to the Safeway ad. Then applied my coupons. I got 38 Nivea lip care ($2.47 each without ad match and coupon) and was paid $14.50 to buy them. (It would have been a bit more but more but I got my daughter and item for $.97 too.) Not only was I able to save $93.86 for ad matching them to free but I made $14.50 by buying them. I say that was a Extreme Couponing score!!
