On cooked food, on fruits and vegetables, on electricity (I hate to see the bills coming in every month), on communication (internet, mobile), on transport, on education, and so on.

My mother used to tell me that before Singapore was developed, when we still had kampungs (the rural villages), there are fruits and vegetables and herbs everywhere. She could just climb up a tree and pluck fresh fruits to eat; she could just pluck the leaves off the sidewalk as vegetables and herbs for eating. Life then was less dependent on money and more independent and carefree.

Now, even simple groceries such as sweet potatoes (my mother told me these grew everywhere in the past) need to be paid by money because our land has become highly urbanised. But still, I want to explore ways to live self-sufficiently in an urban environment.

Be less dependent on the system which is built on excess and waste and become more green. I welcome you to join me in this quest.
