10:37 PM Mom was missing and no ketchup when I got up but I did get up early. I laid in the basket till she came back and I sniffed her breath, then I stuck my nose way in her mouth. So she let me have a teny tiny sip of champagne. Once a year wont hurt me. I do love the stuff. First time was kind of an accident. I didn't like anything but my food at the time. Grampa let me sniff his glass thinking I'd go on my way. I took a sip then seized the glass in my claw and started drinking. He had to summon mom to help pry me loose. Tonight mom put a little splash in the bottom of one of my own mini-glasses.

11:30 OMG the world is coming to an end! I was outside and there were a couple loud bangs then dogs started barking. I ran back inside as fast as my legs would carry me. I am now hiding in my hammock.

11:50 Okay relaxing again *yawn* but I'm not leaving my safe hammock.

Dec 29th

Prehensile tails are lifesavers. Ori was messing around in the cage hammock and she clawed a corner loose and plummeted. Her tail wrapped around the hammock and stopped her fall, hanging by tail only then once she gained her senses swung over to the shelf. That kid is darn tough on hammocks.

We were able to get the cat tree after getting a generous gift via pay pall for Pua's birthday. They all use it quit a bit late at night. No one uses the cubby holes though. I should have got one with those little hammock things, maybe. To remmedy this I tried putting a cup of cheese in the cubby hole. Ori went right to it but Aurora was a bit late to the cheese party.

Anteater battle for supremacy

So last night I was minding my own business preparing to pee on the new house and Aurora goosed me. Boy I jumped but I really wanted to pee so ignored her. She goosed me again so I played a bit but then finally did my thing and she clawed at the log while she waited. I think I was the first to pee on it. The others have been using the closet shelf. Mom has a blanket on top of pee pads there and they like that.

Mom ground up over 8 pounds of beef heart.

I'm not sure Hyzzie takes her taste tester job serious. She may be in it just for the food. Quasi had to eat several pieces of heart before she tried any. My taste testers got taste testers.

Dec 22nd

1AM Aurora came to join me in my hammock, yay

10PM Aurora is moping because it's too cold to go out. Everything is frosty.

I got a mango at midnight and got up at 11 the next morning for ketchup and stayed up so got blue cheese and ants too. Then we all got treats later. We got some clothes and blankets too.

6:30PM
The room was all dark and I thought I over slept. Turned out mom hadn't gone to bed she was in the other room eating dinner. I was feeling down and she rubbed my belly. Then I went into my hammock. I'll have my ketchup at a more reasonable hour.

Dec 27th

Up at noon! Who's messin' with my biological clock?
Had a little ketchup then had some ants. Mom said I had an ant beard.

5PM
Ori & Aurora are both sleeping in the hammock so mom hosed their house with nature's miracle and oxyclean in the shower and it's drying now.
Oops mom got complaints from all other human members of the household about the smell in the bathroom after washing out the pee-pad house.

2AM Ori's first order of business seems to be to try and destroy the new giant house. Darn it that's for sleep you got logs to claw up. ~ Pua's Mommy

10AM Aurora was not sure at first but after seeing Ori in the house she decided she likes it both are curled up inside. Early Christmas present. They needed more space. Only now they are curled up in the back leaving room for another anteater or two but they both weren't fitting in the old one. Ori was always spilling out and Aurora had some wear spots in her fur.

5:30PM Aurora was sleeping in the closet till Ori came to join her, pushed under her and made her play.

11PM Snuggled with mom before heading to the closet tonight.

11:30PM Mom washed the hammock and soon as mom hung it back up Ori went in it to sleep. At least she let mom get it hung up. Ori normally hops in before she's got all corners up.

12:30AM Can you believe I'm still sleeping? The others are up and playing and eating. They slept in the hammock together during the day

A tamandua toddling toward you on two legs in a dark room at 3 am is a little odd looking but not pee in you pants worthy as one YT commenter once said they would react. Pua walked from the closet at me wanting a treat. ~Pua's mommy

Was playing with Ori in the little hammock last night while she climbed around hanging from the outside.

10:30AM Was up had some ketchup, time with mom, checked the closet but no one was there so had a bit of cheese and back to bed.

5PM Humans are odd. They spent the day pickling and canning radishes and radish relish. They should stick to ants. Find them, eat them, done.

11:30PM Went to the back to pee but forgot the little fabric house isn't there any more headed for my second choice of a corner and got put in the cat box. I filled it up and came back to my room to see the others.

12:20AM Aurora's grumpy tonight. She didn't want to share the hammock with me

1AM Was feeling a bit moody too but now Aurora is finally playing with me.

1:20AM Didn't last long so I went to cuddle and play with mom but now I'm done and not sure what to do with myself.

12:10AM Odd found a tiny ant on Ori she didn't want it so I gave it to Pua. Maybe was from their log. ~Pua's mommy

11AM I knew it was going to be laundry day so I got up and went into the hammock after my ketchup.

I went to see Santa at the barbers. I was a bit hyper with it being laundry day and I accidentally scratched him with a back nail trying to get down. He wasn't wearing gloves like last year. He was nice about it but keeping claws crossed I don't get coal. The photos did come out blurry though she was supposed to email better photos but it hasn't happened yet :(

3:30PM I went for a hike in the woods after Santa but mom forgot to bring a camera. It was cold, lots of frost but I had fun anyway mom just didn't let me go as far as I wanted. I did take a break and run around the outside of the little shopping center too. The Boy scouts selling trees weren't too excited "that's just our neighbor".

11:43PM Aurora went outside for a bit. I guess she wanted an adventure too.

12:30AM Did not want that wool blanket tonight. I knew laundry was done so complained till I got the nice quilt.

11:40PM Aurora ran around outside for a bit. Mom Put a jacket on her. She didn't mind at first but then she got her feet in the belt strap cuz it was too lose. She was POed about the rescue.

The human fails to acknowledge her slave status. She should not be mauling my royal person with her lowly human paws. I insisted she bring me some blue cheese when we got back in ~ Aurora

Went on a walk in the woods. It was exciting. When I got back I mixed things up by deciding to sleep in my hammock instead of return to the washer.

So we did have to turn back when mom saw a loose hunting breed lab. He was coming our way but stopped when he caught my scent. Mom thought he must have tangled with a skunk before and thought I smelled like one. He later showed up again when I was exploring but he turned tail when he saw us, good boy you don't want mess with the anteater or her protective mommy.

We all love blue cheese!
It depends on my mood right now if I like spray cheese but Ori still loves it.
Ants are always good of course
Any feeder insects such as wax worms, not fond of crickets though.
Good sized cloth houses would be great since Ori beats them up 20" long by 15-17" wide and 15-17" high would be ideal
Hammocks Ori climbs on them to play like they were climbing nets or something. The big play hammock is about 39x39" and my smaller sleep hammock is 33"x33" We like pockets but they are not that important for the play hammock. I need them for my sleep hammocks though. Sometimes all three of us play in the big hammock(about 15 pounds each).
Full sized blankets or twin size quilts are good for in the washer on or the shelf.
Clothes are great Dog clothes work size varies by designer, baby clothes can work but mom sometimes has to adjust them.
My measurements are:
Base of neck - 10.5"
Around her chest under her armpits - 15.25"
Around the base of her arms - 8.50"
Just her back from armpit to armpit - 8.25"
From between the shoulders to her hands - 10.5"
From the base of her neck to her waist - 11" long(could a some to reach her tail)
Around her waist/belly 21"
Wrist 5"

We aren't too into toys. We love old logs but don't suppose santa wants those in his sleigh. My favorite toy is the lint trap in the washer.
I also love roses. I love to tear them open and lick up the pollen.
Of course I'm still checking my stocking for a washer drier combo machine or that toy we all could share, a male Tamandua ;)

12AM Ori was bored but now is happy with a fresh old log.

12:16AM Ori ran back to the closet at high speed. I think the sound of the washer startled her. Aurora jumped onto Ori and started a play fight.

1AM Mom gave me blue cheese and everyone came running.

12PM No one used the blue house except to pee on it. They are sleeping in the closet. Pua stayed with them till around 7 this morning then she went back to her washer.

Mom was ignoring me last night so I peed in her spot. Then she finally noticed me and rolled over right into the big puddle. She sure was cranky and I didn't even get my treat. I thought she was ignoring me and needed a reminder not to do that but I guess she really was sleeping.

2:30AM I slept on mom's chest for a few hours last night. She's nice and warm but kind of lumpy so I went back to my washer eventually.

2:30PM Mom found me a couple late season roses. Yea! I love roses. Will tear into those tonight.

12:30AM Oops forgot to freeze Aurora's chiller bowls today. Could make for a tired me as she will be demanding I get her cold food during the night and I've got to get up early. Pua isn't even up yet. Lazy thing gets excessively nocturnal in the winter.~Pua's mommy

1:15AM I got up and had my ketchup, now taking a nap in my hammock. It's important not to get going too quickly.

Ori dropped her treat cup on my head. Is blue cheese and olive oil good for the hair? ~ Pua's mommy

1:40PM Not sure if Ori is being helpful by cleaning her mom's ears as they eat or if she is trying to store some for later.

Aurora was thrilled to run around in the rain tonight though she didn't stay too long. She's grooming out the water now.

It's a little ridiculous when Ori still tries to ride her more. A little more so when her mom tries to ride her.

No one went out last night but we played like crazy in the hammock again. Once we older tams turned in for the night, Ori ran around like a crazy person knocking stuff down and running across the bed. Think she did it because mom had to get up supper early.

11PM I went out for a bit but had to come back in. Cold freaks me out. It bites at my ears so I try to paw it off like ants but it doesn't work. So I was getting jumpy

I'll help you, mom

Poor Aurora: I heard some complaints and saw Ori laying on top of the house and thought she was smothering her momma. I encouraged her off then saw the real problem, though Ori wasn't helping.

Aurora was somehow inside the top panel of the pee pad house. Ori must have torn a hole. I tried to help her find her way out but that wasn't working and Ori came back to "help". So I made sure no ears or noses were in the way and cut a small hole. It turned out to be too small but that was all I could do but I cut it in the soft stretchy part. She stuck her face out with it tight against her head. She pulled back in after a bit then stuck her arm out when she failed to find another way out. She got her head out with her arm and pulled. She drug the house half way across the cage then her shoulders popped out and Aurora was reborn. She has retired to the closet bed with with Ori.

Inspection report: Small hole ripped in ceiling of pee pad house by little claws prior to the rescue hole outside. Structure is deemed unlivable. Temporarily replaced with old blue house sitting on a pee pad.

11:30AM I'm up having a groom. Thinking about having some vinegar but not sure. Where's my ketchup?

12:30AM Omg I was in the pee pad house with Ori when everything started shaking and making noise. I fled for the closet. Ori stayed in the house unfazed. Mom was moving the cage. She said she had to get back there to put the hook back in the ceiling for the hammock. I'm not so sure it was worth it. Aurora was on the tower and eventually hid behind the washer. It was scary stuff.

1AM We've gone back to normal now but that was dramatic. Ori's still in the house. Lazy kid.

Aurora went around the yard a bit then came in. I just sniffed at the window and deemed it cold out. We ran around the house a bit and snuck in grampa's room when he got up to go to the bathroom. Now we're playing in the closet.

9:30AM I slept in the closet with Aurora and Ori. Mom brought breakfast and Aurora left. So I drank it and now Ori left. I'm all alone now and not in my cozy washer. Not sure what to do with myself yet.

10:00AM Drinking more soup. It's not as filling as my non-liquid food.

10:30 I've decided to stay sleeping in the closet all by my little lonesome self.

11:21 Awe got Aurora to play some but now she's grumpy again... and now playing again. Moody girl but I'm working to cheer her up.

11AM Apparently there were carpenter ants in Pua's log last night. I found one survivor on it this morning during clean up. No wonder she enjoyed it so much and is now snoring away in the washer.

Did get almost all stains out of the pee pad house this time.

1AM Maybe Aurora just ate the cheese cuz she missed lunch. Her tummy was growling like crazy and she's been eating her soup forever and still going.

While the 1st family was debating if I was an anteater or aardvark a lady stopped to ask if I was a badger. Then the family that live at the end of the park came out to see me. They were nice. He thought it was amusing mom was walking an anteater on a leash in a Tutu. He was referring to my shirt dress. Mom wasn't wearing a Tutu.

Aardvarks are "dirt pigs" and look their name but people get them confused with anteaters all the time. My movements may seem a bit badger like when ambling around on the ground but I am missing the markings among other differences.

12AM Had a long walk today so when I got up from sleeping I had to have a nap. Then I had my snack and went to the closet and napped till the others got up. We've played some and are napping again.

Sometimes when you own a human you have to remind them who is boss. Mom refused to give me the attention I demanded. Something about having a cold and it being the omg you have to be kidding me hours of the morning but that's no excuse. When she couldn't get rid of me she tried moving. So I peed in her spot on the bed. That should get the point across.

10pm Mom changed out the closet bedding. I burrowed down inside the folded blanket.

I was nicer to mom last night. I just woke her at 3AM and only wanted to snuggle on her chest and nap. Till I saw Ori running around and went to join her.

9pm Darn mom made me come in cuz she says it's too cold. I think I should decide what's to cold for me. It was 40F and dropping.

10pm The start of Castle tonight was scary. I hissed back at it then ran to my room.

11pm I kept running around for hours playing and just running all over but I'm finally taking a nap.

11:57pm Aurora joined me in my hammock. Yea play... awe now she's playing with Ori on the tower, oops now chasing her instead.

I get up hours earlier than the others and Ori sometimes gets up during the day but kids are weird like that.

Washed the pee pad house tonight but the pee stains stayed. Will try oxyclean next time. It's clean anyway. just doesn't look it. Ori and Aurora both have checked it out. ~ Pua's mommy

We got Aurora's chiller bowls so Grampa spent a portion of the after noon working out a bowl holder. We'll see how that goes tonight. That girl could save everyone a lot of trouble by learning food that is not ice cold is still food.

11AM Ori's gone nuts and is running around the house like a crazy fool. Mom tried taking her out but she came back in fairly quick.

10PM Mom needs to quit blowing her nose. It disturbes Aurora cuz she thinks mom's hissing at her. I remember the first time mom blew her nose around me. I had been eating and flipped over on my back showing my claws and hissing back. I thought a Giant anteater was about to steal my food.

Ori got taken out to run around the yard. She did some but she's an inside girl. Think she wants a Madison avenue apartment and some fancy dress suits and occasional sophisticated cocktail parties.

So hyper ran around outside but mom brought me in. Enjoying a very sloppy mango and back scratching. A bit cool out tonight, makes me itchy.

Aurora was out for a bit running around at supper sonic speeds but she wasn't watching where she was going and smashed nose on into the corners of the raised garden a couple times. She gave herself a bloody nose so had to get locked back in. She's mad but okay. Bleeding stopped once she got in where it's dry.

2AM Crap Pua sounds like she's got a cold. She's all wheezey and sounds stuffed up and coughing/gagging now and then. Appetite is fine gave her a bit of benadryl in ketchup. Will be calling the vet tomorrow cuz that sounds awful!

Benadryl helped she's still wheezing but not as much, if she's sniffing or moving around a lot. She's acting perfectly normal just sounds bad.

Much better now. Maybe it was just an allergy attack. Will call the vet anyway. Can't be to careful with these guys.

By a half hour after the bynadryl she was all better and has been fine sense. Call the vets office and it was agreed that sounds like an allergic reaction to something. I don't know to what but I've put an air-purifier on the list for our shopping trip tomorrow. Hopefully it was just a freak one off but I wanna be proactive as that was scary.

Moving furniture I uncovered Kat's paw prints. When we painted the floor years ago we did not realize she was sleeping in there somewhere so there are paw prints leading out of my room. Kat left her mark.

5PM My servants were out all day gathering firewood but they brought me some rotten logs too, yea. I came out to say hi and am now napping in my hammock.

10 PM Love Ori. Cleaning her ears while she eats. Ears can never be too clean.

11PM I keep trying to go from the new closet shelf over the window to the desk but can't get a good grip. Mom needs to add a small shelf there so I can take this short cut.

Had a little juice go bad. Mom poured it down the sink. I'm trying to bath in it.

I just got done telling some people how Ori is a stick in the mud who doesn't much like to play with others and plays by her self and she runs up and starts playing with me. I played with her quite a bit but she's gonna have to learn to play gentle. ~ Pua's Mommy

At one point she actually got Aurora to follow her down and was playing right there by me. I sat real still and Aurora was fine then Ori started pinching my hand and the ouch ouch omg sent Aurora back to the closet with Pua instead. Was almost magical having flighty Aurora standing right in front of me and playing. Ori even got on my knee with Aurora kind of on her back a bit. Someone will be getting their nails done soon but I didn't want to do it right now and discourage Ori's playing with me. Ori's perfectly tame she's just a weirdo who mostly plays on her own and likes grooming me instead of playing. ~ Pua's Mommy

Can't get the others to come play in the closet they like their new bed too much. I keep trying to get them to follow me so we can play.

OCT 6
Joined Ori on the cage and we woke Aurora. Lead Ori to the closet but then chased her back. We all 3 played on the cage then Aurora took off for the closet so we followed her and are playing there now.

Aurora asked for breakfast so we all crowded around as the bowl was presented. I'm sharing with Aurora but she keeps shoving me.

OCT 7
Ran around outside, climbed the lilac and peed by it, pooped in the bushes and spent some time in my dogwood. Was a good night out.

OCT 8
So I heard Ori puffing and then an anteater was going by the bed. I reached down to pet her and she stood up so I pet her more and ruffled her fur and belly. She turned around and then I felt someone trying to cling to her butt(Ori). Oops it was Aurora! Boy was she insulted by my disrespecting her personal space. She's not a people person and doesn't like to associate with the staff. ~ Pua's mommy

Had a long hike in the woods and carry home when I got tired. My servants then went and got a bit more wood.

12AM OMG Aurora's riding Ori, lol

2:21AM Was playing in the blue house with Ori when the house took a tumble to the floor with us in it. I was traumatized but Ori is unfazed and has been running around like a fool again.

2:27AM Aurora was on the desk and turned and started sniffing in my direction interestedly. So I leaned in and let her sniff my breath. She sniffed for quite a bit before she was done with me.~Pua's Mommy

11AM Aurora found her way into the washer with me this morning but when mom came home with the dogs she came back out. She went out and ran around the yard for an hour then came back in.

Ori is no longer nursing So Aurora has gained back to 17 pounds. Ori looks a wee bit trimmer too or maybe her arms and legs just grew.

11PM Was out hanging in my tree then started across the street and something startled me. I almost ran back in but then got brave. Then mom saw two raccoons so she brought me back in but I got a cool new log to keep me busy.

OCT 13 Aurora did try getting in my washer last night. First time I was standing on it the second she had forgotten how and she was standing on it.

The Little Cloth House Saga

So ya'all know Ori was born on the little brown cloth house. For awhile it moved to the back where Kat could use it since they like the blue one better but with Kat gone it moved back to my room on the top of the cage. However it's been through a lot now.

The other issue you may have picked up on from recent blogs is they all pee in or on the cloth houses but everyone loves the cloth houses.

Look at her little jaw askew. Saw it and had to stop and get the photo.

Since Aurora also pees in her hammock I've toyed with the idea of using a pee pad to make a hammock but I just place one under the hammock instead. But then I said: "Ugh what is it with anteaters peeing in their houses. I'm seriously tempted to try making them new houses made of pee pads. I'd just need to find some foam. ~ Pua's mommy."

Then when we went shopping I found some foam so I did it.

Ori has pretty well destroyed the old houses and since everyone loves to pee in and on them so much I made a new one out of pee pads. I broke the sewing machine needle half way through so the green string. Also could not turn the pad inside out to sew as it was to sticky and wouldn't move in the machine. And yeah the absorbent side is up on the roof since as I said they like to get on sometimes and pee in it too.

Sleeping late. It may be warm but I can still feel fall coming.

When I went to my hammock tonight Ori was there to act as my step stool to get in. So kind of her.

I let Ori have my ketchup. I'd rather clean her ears.

Aurora and I were playing like crazy this morning. Woke mom up a 4 am. Lots of fun.

Aurora and off beeping and I followed her a bit then went back to the corner. She circled the room beeping then pounced me and beeped awhile while we played then stopped. I used to beep at momma when younger and when I was ill but I was quieter and when we snuggled to say I love her. Maybe Aurora was saying she loves me.

Mom tried to film it. It was dark but was hoping to get the sound but she stopped soon as mom hit record.

Aurora was upset when she couldn't find me to play because I had retired to my washer. So she slept in my hammock after giving up.

Woke up and found Aurora sleeping behind my sink. Made me jump.

Sept 27th
1AM In the closet. Aurora took off, Ori followed so I followed them. They were headed for the hammock but Aurora misstepped and fell onto the cage. The noise scared me so I darted back Ori was unphased and got in the hammock. Aurora got back up and went back to the closet, hoping nobody saw. Closet playtime instead.

3PM Oops woke up in the middle of the day again. Had a scratch and some ketchup and went back to bed.

9:30PM Got up early yesterday but am sleeping in today. Got to keep people guessing.

11:43PM Aurora is a bit moody so I'm grooming her.

So Aurora is a picky eater. If food is not ice cold I may as well have given her a bowl of dirt. The consistency needs to be just right too but we're pretty good at judging that now. If she doesn't have what she wants she will make her displeasure known to me by clawing at the walls.

In the mean time I tried an experiment with a storage food bowl holder by filling it with water and freezing it.

Trying an experiment tonight. Filled the storage part of a storage and feeder combo w/water and froze it. After some reassurance it would not eat her and there really was food in this new scary thing, Aurora was willing to eat from it. Now how long for her to learn her food will be cold without having to wake me by picking at the walls?

The frozen bowl worked good and kept her food cold enough for her liking all night but I still had to show her there was cold food when she asked.

Not feeling peppy tonight but am snuggling with mom. Like having a living heating pad. Humans average 5 degree F warmer than Tamanduas.

I'm in the mood for soup. Yumm.
It was beef soup. Really it's just my usual food soaked in vinegar to soften it then blended with water. Aurora prefers that over "real" food. I like it sometimes. I preferred when mom still mixed blue cheese in it to get Aurora to eat more but she doesn't need to any more.

Yes this incident did end in a spilled food bowl. The bowl did start in the middle of the shelf. Ori keeps pulling it closer all the time, the lazy kid.

Just discovered Ori is not with her momma in the closet but is sleeping in the (mashed down) brown house on top of the cage. ~ Pua's mommy

See why Ori was sleeping alone. She's got a skinned nose. Guess her momma did it though sure it must have been an accident. ~ Pua's mommy

Got up at 7 but I think it was too early. Napping in my hammock.

I joined Aurora in the nest but want to play with Ori. I checked the shelf but she's not there eating. I'm confused.

I found her. I found Ori. She doesn't seem to happy. Not sure why. Wasn't that an outhouse? Oh well following her back to the closet for play time.

Got some outside time but found it creepy. Just sat in the tree for a bit then came in. Then we all ran around the house. I tried to ride Ori Several times but she's not good at giving rides.

Sept 22
So watching the anteaters run around the house last night and Pua trying to ride Ori I noticed Pua and Ori are nearly the same size but Ori is still a fair amount smaller than her momma. Pua really is a midget. No wonder every time I meet another adult anteater in person I'm like "It's huge" ha. She's built like a bulldog though so most of her weight really is muscle(as 15-17 is kind of heavy considering her smaller size).

I don't know what they are watching in the other room but it sounds scary.

So another reason for the shelf was to put Aurora's food bowl right in front of her so when she wakes up she finds it and doesn't need to wake me.

This experiment later came to an abrupt end when someone knocked the bowl down from the shelf. Filled with frozen water, what was essentially a large block of ice, hit my wooden stool and broke it in half. I need to get better at anticipating potentially negative outcomes.

Sept 12
Went to the vet today and got a check up. Unlike Ori I didn't run around exploring. I just wanted to sleep. But they got me up anyway. I don't like the vet. It reminds me of when I was ill. I was okay till she took my temp then I was shivering so it was 94.16 instead of my usual 93.6 but that's still within normal. So I got a clean bill of health.

I thought we were done then mom asked about a manicure. I don't like having my nails done. I was a good girl though. I didn't kick at anyone like Aurora does. She got her big dog clippers at first. My big nails wont fit in mom's dog nail clippers but vet said these do rottweiler nails and should do the trick. That's kind of like comparing an elephant to a pony but she gave it a shot. They did fit but try with all her might she only just dented my nail.

My nails may not grow pointy like all the other anteaters but they sure are tough. Maybe a body builder could'a done it. So she tried a bit on the dremmel used for teeth to saw through. It was working but slow and noisy.

So she switched to a giggly saw. Despite the name it is not fun or noisy. It's that piece of wire hitmen use to kill people in mobster movies. That did the trick though. We removed 3/4 inches off of both of my big nails. Mom may file them a bit more herself to make them a bit more pointed but she better leave me alone tonight.

Pua's Mommy: I can just clip or file the tips off the others because theirs grow normally.Just do them when they get poky again. Pua's don't taper or point plus grow at a tighter curve than the others. I can whittle away at hers with the file or clippers but I had let them get behind when a lot was going on and hadn't made up for it so took advantage of the vet. She was still using them just fine they just looked funny.

You can sort of see the kink in her tail here. It's not real obvious but causes a slight S and can feel it. Like when a cat's had it's tail slammed in a door.

Tonight seemed a good night to be lazy. I didn't go out and just went to the closet. We all just stayed in to play and cuddle.

So much play going on in the closet. It makes me happy to know they are happy ~ Pua's mommy

This is a good photo to point out what I've said before about Pua's nails. You can see Pua's nails are the same width the whole way out while Ori's are nicely tapered. A little more obvious in the video below.

Sept 14th
YAY mom got the hint and gave me some of my food in the closet. I may stay here all night. Oh Ori's sharing. We might need more.

Sept 15th
I did go back to my washer and main food place last night when the other two went to play at the hammock.

Pua's Mommy: Neither Aurora or Ori have tried bathing with vinegar yet. Everyone else here so far has but then besides Pua they were all boys. Maybe Pua is a tomboy.

Sept 16th
It's been a few days since I've been out. I tried going tonight but it's cold and spooky out there. I got a nice big rotten chunk of wood though.

I am sometimes asked how I tell them apart. This shows how very different their colors are. Aurora is also lean and tall while Pua is short and stout like a bull dog.

Ori is having an ugly shed. Only other time I saw that was Mandua. He lost big amounts from his back so he looked balding but the hair would come in after and it progressed up his back that way. Ori lost off both hips but is starting to come back now lost a chunk from her fluffy tail. Moth-eaten little furball. ~ Pua's Mommy

Noon: Speaking of Ori she is pestering the heck out of her momma right now. Who would rather sleep than play but looks like she has no choice.

I don't mind laundry day as much with my polka dot hammock. It's so comfy I sleep just fine.

8PM Spent time playing with mom in the hammock.

Pee pads become useless a lot quicker when someone knocks it into the bunny cage. The little chewing addict.

Sept 08
Ori is sleeping in the over cage hammock, Aurora is sleeping in the tower hammock. I slept with mommy for awhile on her chest but am now in my washer.

7PM Pua's mommy: Aurora's up she went to pee and had a snack then thought about leaving my room but didn't go so I trimmed most of her back nails before she got fed up with me. Those things get sharp and she likes to kick with them when you pick her up. She's curled up on Pua's washer now.

11PM Ran around outside for a good long time then Aurora wanted to go out so i had to stay in then we both ran around the house. I returned to my washer and turned in a bit before she did.

I don't like mom giving me a bath but I do enjoy rolling around in a wet sink.

Sept 09
Aurora got up early and took Ori for a ride around the house but then she wanted to go out and do some laps around the yard so mom Put Ori in our room. Well, Ori turned on the sink. All that noise woke me up not to mention it splattering all over.

9PM I got to run around the yard after some snuggles but couldn't go out of it to explore for a long time due to the neighbors dogs being out. I started my rounds but another neighbors dog barked at me so I came in. We need to move to the middle of nowhere.

Sept 10 Why don't all the dogs in town shut up at night. Don't they know I want to go out and don't like barking?

9PM Mom gave me a winged termite but she didn't give me any more. Not even for standing up and looking cute. She better find a whole termite nest nest time.

10PM I got up at 7 I think I'm done running around for the night.

11:30PM Aurora stole my hammock while mom was out of the room but that's okay. I got my buggy apples.

Sept 11
10AM Went to peek at Ori while Aurora was eating this morning and she was sleeping comfortably next to a pillow, a furry pillow, wait I didn't put that there, oh it's Pua. They all slept together last night.

They keep switching around due to Ori getting up and coming back. Aurora was inside the house for a bit and just came out. Ori wanted to play so she moved to the end and pushed Pua to the middle "here you deal with her"

I caught the perfect shot of all 3 looking directly at the camera but the battery died and it didn't save properly.

7PM Aurora woke up and triggered a wrestle match in the closet. Ori was in the back trying to stay out of it, "I'm trying to sleep here guys"

Sept 1st
Aurora does not like the new hammock and wouldn't stay to play with me either.

Spent sometime with Aurora and Ori in the closet now followed Aurora back to the tower. I did stop to peak in the fridge but saw nothing great so closed it and moved on.

Aurora came back and decided she likes the hammock after all.

Aurora tried to come take the hammock again but I was inside. I don't mind sharing but she left complaining that it's was too lumpy with me in it.

Sept 02
1:30pm Got up did some grooming and had a snack. Was in walking sleep zombie mode though and couldn't get back in the washer. Mom had to open it for me.
2:40pm Up again. I think I got a touch of insomnia.
2:47pm Back to bed but I was able to get in myself this time.

Sept 03
I slept in the closet with them till I got hungry then went back to my washer.

Decided to go join the others in the closet after Aurora made a quick pass through my area. They kept leaving me in their nest by myself for food and such but eventually they came back to play and snuggle.

Sept 04
Stayed in the closet nest till around 3:30am then I had to go eat.

My taste tester ate a bit of freshly made anteater food complete with silkworm pupae. Guess that means it's okay. Glad he's back to normal, though I don't trust his pallet too much. He's been known to eat poop.

Sept 05
Played with mom a bit, ran outside, played and napped in the closet but finally left around 4:30 for my own bed and ate later.

Grampa stole some of my ants and tried to make coffee out of them. Something about them looking the same in the glass jars.

Sept 06
I was hyper and running around last night. Once I came back in I tried joining Ori and Aurora playing in the closet but Ori was blocking the entrance of the blue house and growled at me so I had to leave. Much later Aurora did let me join her for awhile.

Sept 07
Ori's doing calisthenics: Running across the room, climb the curtain, drop down, run back across the room, repeat....

Kinda spooky out tonight lightening and crazy barking dogs.

Things were going okay outside. I paused a lot as the lightening had my anty-senses tingling but then I heard a monster. It was growling super loud(neighbor's truck). I bolted inside as fast as my little legs could carry me.

Mom wont let me out any more 'cuz the flashes are brighter and we hear thunder now. Chicken. It's still miles away.

Bath, just cuz I was itchy, how rude and I heard uttered threats of a manicure soon.

Anteaters and ALF

August 25th
I got locked up a bit early last night but was restless so mom but me on the closet wall and Aurora and Ori were in the nest. I was gonna go down the shelves but was scared o being chased. Ori came to say hi but wouldn't play. I left for the window shelf but Aurora came and asked me back

They let me join them in the nest. I groomed Aurora all over but Ori hid behind her mom. No one would play and they were taking all the padding so eventually I went down to the shelf under them and lay but there was no padding or company there either so I left then.

So mom had to leave early this morning and fed Aurora. A was eating and mom came back in the room and A panicked for some reason and bolted for the closet but she missed the step between the two shelves and fell. She held on with one claw but still panicked she failed to regain her footing and plummeted. She fell like a star with her arms and legs spread out. She hit the first platform and tumbled off cartwheel style to the next shelf. It was spectacular. Mom started to come see if she was okay so Aurora ran into the tiny cubby box but realizing if she got her rear all the way in her front came out the other hole she turned tail and climbed up the wall where Ori was waiting for her. She was fine.

26th still.
Aurora has her period. She seems to be on a 35 day+ cycle Pua about 30+ Pua starts a few days before Aurora. Explains the fall as she does seem to get more jumpy around that time. Pua will just lay around for a day or two then gets hyper after.

Aug 28th
Mom changed out the closet nest bedding and stuck it in the hamper. OH no you don't! I yelled at her till she stuck that stuff in the washer. I don't need their stink on my side of the room. I quieted down then but had to wait longer for the washer to get done than I would have liked.

Aurora and Ori are playing like crazy fools in the fresh closet nest.

I've been lazy tonight but Aurora had fun running in the yard. Once she explored she was really zooming. When she was done she headed back to the door.

Ori was in the basket when I came back to my room. That's okay I just walked over her.
