Connie Wong is a severe Psoriasis sufferer who caught the nation’s attention when NTV7 made a documentary about her in 2008. She approached us a few months ago to join the OLIVENOL Psoriasis Blog Project. You may follow her blog HERE.

She stayed on recommended dosage and avoided all steroids for the past 12 weeks. The journey ahead is still long before she can be totally free from P (if at all possible).

Phase 2 Psoriasis Blog Programme

As you know, we invited a number of psoriasis sufferers last year to undergo a 3 month programme to blog about their psoriasis condition. Although there was encouraging development in recovery of participants, we are not happy with the results for the following reasons:

participants did not blog after the initial entry!
those who did, were not regular
initial dosage stipulated was not adequate

Admittedly, the requirements for weekly entries was too demanding for first time bloggers. But we thought any P sufferer enthusiastic enough to join the programme at zero cost would at least accept the challenge for 3 months - requiring only a total of 13 blog entries.

Just like the battle to overcome psoriasis, we understand our ambitious project is a long and uphill endevour requiring individuals to do things they are not familiar or comfortable with (most participants were 1st time bloggers). Therefore, we have decided to persevere and advance this idea to the next phase.

Phase 2, 12 months programme.

We gave everyone a chance and invited participants from phase 1 to join a new 12 month project offering significant discount on product. In addition, we reduce the number of entries required to only 1 every 2 weeks on any subject PLUS 1 entry per month with update on P condition.

Only a handful from phase 1 took up the offer. Subsequently we have added first time participants. This list is growing. At this point in time we are still recruiting interested parties. Once this community reach the target numbers, we will let you know. In the meantime, if you or if you know someone with psoriasis, who wish to undergo OLIVENOL therapy ask them to write to us.

Dr Allan KC Yee 1951 to 2009: A Champion for Psoriasis Sufferers

Psoriasis sufferers in Malaysia loss a good friend. Dermatologist Dr Allan Yee Kim Chye, suddenly collapsed of a heart attack on Sept 16, 2009.

Allan will be missed by many. His contribution to Psoriasis community in Malaysia is significant. He was instrumental in the set up of the Psoriasis Association of Malaysia, the only organised psoriasis support group, and served as it's advisor.

Unlike other doctors, Allan refused to give up on finding a solution for this disease. Exploring beyond the knowledge and limitations of conventional medicine, he kept an open mind to adopt phyto nutrients as adjuvant therapy. He single handedly taught us more about P than we could ever learn from books or experience.

Allan has a genuine compassion and was hopeful that the positive results he saw in the OLIVENOL livin' trial he conducted could form the scientific basis for a solution to a large community of sufferers.

Our sense of loss is compounded. Prof Numano who first discovered the positive effects of Olivenol on psoriasis passed away before he could publish his findings. And now Dr Allan Yee having completed a similar trial in Malaysia with very positive results has passed away before he could publish his findings.

Dr Allan Yee was my derm and he put me on the olivenol clinical trial for my psoriasis for 3 mths from march. Coupled with healthier diet habits, I have seen much improvement since then and am still taking olivenol daily today. I started seeing him March this year, and honestly he was the best derm I've seen thus far coz he truly cared to understand my medical needs coz he understood the psychological and emotional impact of this skin condition and gave me many useful medical advice tailored to my lifestyle. I'm gonna miss him.

Dr Allan KC Yee made a difference in the lives of others. He lived a significant life, he fought a good fight. A doctor, a scientist, a friend, a champion for many.

Rest in peace, my brother.

Psoriasis Editorial (World Psoriasis Day) - Source / Information for Star Health (FAO - Dr Paul Yeo)

I understand that every year StarHealth does a feature on Psoriasis to conincide with "World Psoriasis Day" (October 29). Last year, Dr Allan Yee (adviser of Psoriasis Association of Malaysia) wrote the main piece for Star Health.

I wish to draw your attention to a Psoriasis project we put together that may be of interest to your editorial team. A group of 10 Proriasis sufferers are blogging about their psoriasis history, thoughts, challenges, frustration, hope, etc. This is a first project of its kind in Malaysia.

Information about psoriasis is scant and the general public is ignorant. These 10 blogs offer insights into the life of a psoriasis sufferer. Through them, your readers are able to "hear" the silent voices of Psoriasis patients. Together, they represent a cross section of psoriasis sufferers in Malaysia. The demographics are:

Age: 19 - 52
Sex: Male - 8 . Female -2
Ethnic: Malay 5, Chinese 4, Indian 1
Severity: Mild to Very Severe

It is our hope that a feature into their personal struggles by StarHealth, will help advance public awareness about this disease.
