The Taste of Livingston County is being held at the Howell High School Field House from, 11:30am – 3pm on March 26, 2011.  There is no admissions fee.  There will be tasting tickets sold for 75 cents each.  Each taste is only one ticket. Expect lots of different local restraints’ food to try.

Also going on this same weekend at the Field House is the Livingston County Home Show, Livingston Fine Art Show, and Community Resource Fair.  Come see what Livingston County has to offer.

Featuring: More that 200 exhibitors showcasing the latest in home improvement, décor and gardening.

Highlights: Community Resource Fair, Friday, March 25.  The Taste of Livingston County, Saturday, March 26. Offering generous “tastes” from area restaurants and caterers. The Livingston Fine Arts Show will also be held all weekend.

St. Patrick’s Day is known for its parades. There are parades throughout the world on St. Patrick’s Day. The village of Pinckney, MI is holding a St. Patrick’s Day parade the weekend before St. Patrick’s Day.  The Parade will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 12 noon.  St. Patrick’s Day parades are great because they pull the community together. You get to see people you haven’t seen for a long time, and look at tons of people wearing lots of green and some brave people wearing St. Patrick’s Day costumes.  Put on your green and head out to Pinckney for some Irish fun.

The car show attracts between 60-80 cars on a weekly basis. My four year old nephew, a car lover, like any other four year old boy, was ecstatic about seeing all of the different kinds of cars. There were old, restored cars and even new, suped-up, street racing cars. All different makes and models of cars, trucks, vans, and motorcycles are welcome.

Ken Bielous at American Car Heritage Car Show in Fowlerville, MI

Ken Bielous, the owner of American Car Heritage Car Show and Whenever Weinnies, is also the main DJ for the event. When he was 14 years old he overhauled his first engine and has been a car lover ever since. He worked for 22 years in a corporate office and likes his new office, outside DJ-ing at his own car show.

Everyone that brings their car to the show is entered in for door prizes. Plus, the public attending the show gets to vote for their favortie car to win the “Best in Show Trophy”. There is even a 50/50 raffle!

Dave Brooks with 1941 Chevrolet Business Coupe at the American Car Heritage Car Show in Fowlerville, MI

This is Dave Brooks with his 1941 Chevrolet Business Coupe. This kind of car gets its name from having flat flooring that continues into the trunk, rather than a traditional backseat. Having this feature allowed businessmen more space to store the products they were selling day-to-day in the back without having a seat in the way.
