Discounted Pass of All Passes SLC

2013-07-09T16:06:00.003-06:00

Last year when I moved to Salt Lake County, quite a few people asked me if I had a Pass of All Passes.

I had no clue what that was.

This year SueAnn tried to talk me into buying one but it was back in January and Kev and I didn't know where we'd be living this summer (our rental contract went month-to-month in December and we were just hanging around until we found the perfect house). I didn't want to buy the passes and then have all our plans change and have the passes be inconvenient to redeem.

But now that we're settled in this awesome new neighborhood and MELTING in the heat of this summer, I started looking around for discounted passes again. Thankfully, I found them on Groupon today. This deal is amazing at only $29 for the pass (for each person). I know it's not as good as the $20 deals back in the winter, but in this $29 deal, you get $20 to put toward food purchase at any of the Seven Peaks in Utah. I would have preferred the $20 gift card to Walmart but those obviously sold out a lot faster.

So.. if you're like me and have waited until the last minute to buy a pass to save your sanity this summer, jump on this deal now!! Go to Groupon and get hooked up. You can thank me later.

Summer suits

2013-07-02T07:00:00.000-06:00

I've been wearing the same swimsuit every summer for the last seven years (?!). Maybe longer. And even though I hate hate hate it at this point, I can't bring myself to buy a new one. It's like, I'd rather just stay unhappy with this one since I know all its faults. Why feel disappointment in a new suit after all these years? I was surprised when I browsed Anthro's swimsuits because I often think their clothes are super-ugly. But the suits were cute!

Short, shorter, shortest

2013-07-01T07:00:00.000-06:00

Until I found my teal shorts, I had been scouring shops to find the right pair at the right price. And really, I'm so cheap that spending $20 on a pair of shorts was hard for me.

To help you out, here's a round-up of shorts that hopefully fit every budget and style:

Poolside

2013-06-28T07:00:00.000-06:00

Aspen and I joined some friends at the pool this week and I was wishing for a sunhat as I sat in 100degree weather. Even with SPF 50 my nose got pink after an hour at the pool. Yikes. So I need a sunhat next time, and another application of sunscreen.

Delight in J. Crew

2013-06-26T07:00:00.000-06:00

I admit I've purchased clothes from J. Crew for Aspen. In my defense, it's usually at the outlet (when I visit my parents) or when items are on sale online for less than $10 each. Otherwise, I can't justify spending that kind of money on clothes Aspen will only wear for a few months before they're too small (or stained beyond saving!).

It doesn't stop me from occassionally checking out full-priced merchandise just for fun, though! See what I'm loving for this summer for Aspen (in a dream world):

Delight in BHLDN

I had a really low-key wedding, and if I had to do it all over again I probably wouldn't change much. But that can't keep me from appreciating all the beautiful elements BHLDN offers to create a romantic wedding and/or reception. Check out some of my favorites below (and just click the photo to see more).

Target Mossimo Shorts

I recently got these shorts in teal, and having worn them a few times now I wish I could get them in all the colors! I've also been looking for a good pair of THESE, but then my sister gave me an old pair of jeans she doesn't want so I'm making my own. SCORE.

Delight in MAC

2012-11-13T07:00:00.000-07:00

I attended a Bloggers' Night Out over the weekend and had the pleasure of getting my eye make up done by aesthetician Gentri from A La Mode salon. She exclusively uses MAC and I loved it. I've only used it myself a few times (when playing with friends' make up) but I really really loved the look Gentri did on Saturday.

I decided I need to add at least one of these shadows to my Christmas list so Kev has something to put in my stocking besides measuring cups.

Steve Madden boots

2012-11-12T07:00:00.000-07:00

Saturday morning was spent driving around in a mild snowstorm to three different stores to find snow bibs for Aspen. Kev finally went to a store by himself (while I took Aspen home for lunch) and scored a pair for 30% off. The adventure wasn't a total bust, though, because at ROSS we found snow boots for Aspen and a pair of beautiful, cognac Steve Madden boots for me. They actually had many styles similar to the ones I have collected here, but for MUCH better prices (the two-tone were only $25 at ROSS).

Unless Kev wants to surprise me with the grey boots (from Target) for Christmas, I told him this could count as my present. We're so cheap. But it's all good!

I can't decide if I love or hate the Payton Wedge (in the multi-color option). It's like... is it too much or just enough? It looks like a cozy winter sweater so I'm inclined to love it.

Frost yourself

2012-11-07T18:44:00.000-07:00

Have you ever seen "How to Lost a Guy in 10 Days?" It's all about slick advertising and winning a diamond account. And, of course, losing a guy in 10 days. "Frost Yourself" is the chosen slogan, and it refers to women indulging in diamonds. There aren't any diamonds on this accessories list, but there are other items you might use to add that special something to an outfit.

Peas in a pod

2012-11-06T07:00:00.000-07:00

I love a good peacoat! It adds structure to layers of winter clothes, and it's so much better to wear one when dressed up instead of slapping on a windbreaker or ski jacket. Kev found one for me in the Lost&Found many many many years ago, and I love it. It happens to be New York & Co., so it was in great shape when he claimed it (after everything had sat the requisite amount of time before being purged and offered up to whomever wished to collect).
