Lizzys Leopard Gecko Update

Long time no update lol!

Things have been good with Lizzy...she’s growing big and getting strong. She loves to woof back the superworms like there going out of style and her tail is fat fat fat. The tank now has sand on half the floor and a little bigger enclosure was in order but for the most part things are as usual.
Some new pictures are on the way as soon as my son gets his butt in gear lol it’s always been his pet and he lives else where with his mom these days so it takes a little longer to get the materials like pictures, video’s etc.
Thanx to all my visitors both here and to the website and great news!!!...Lizzy’s site is going .com within the next month!!! YAY!
The site is getting a total revamping then a new home on a proper server complete with a .com URL!
Details to follow but it’s safe to say yous will be hearing from me a bit more often from now on lol!

Slow week in a geckos life!

Lizzy the leopard gecko has had a slow week this week. Literally, she has been lying around sucking up the heat and sleeping. Not unusual for a reptile though. She has been getting lonely and we're thinking of getting her a companion. Leopard geckos are very territorial though, so I wonder if she'll take to a mate. Worth a try I guess! I've been changing up her food a bit lately, so I hope she'll perk up soon. She is a lot more fun when she's stocking around after her prey. I love to watch her eat.

Hey everybody, Today I'll talk about a leopard geckos shedding requirements. Your gecko will need to have a separate hiding spot with a moist medium provided inside the container (Plastic works best). Your leopard gecko will need the moist medium (peat moss, paper towel, clean cloth) to shed properly. If your gecko does not get to shed properly, it will develop skin build-up around the toes and will eventually loose them. This extra hide box should be present at all times and medium should be changed regularly! Your gecko will thank you in the end for all your hard work.

Lizzy has had a good week. She is eating well and has shed her skin which is something Leopard Geckos should do every two weeks. Lizzy has been lying around soaking up the heat. Must be nice.

Leopard Gecko eating habits.

Leopard Geckos eat insects and they love to hunt their prey. Most Leopard Geckos will eat the insects from a food bowl. But, some prefer to have the insects running loose on the floor of their tank so they can hunt and eat them. Leopard Geckos are sometimes picky eaters and will prefer one type of insect over the others. The Leopard Gecko will also fast (go without food) in the adult stages and can do so for up to one month at a time. But fasting is not something your Leopard Gecko will do often. The adult Leopard Gecko will only need to eat once every other day, so don't panic if they haven't eaten in a couple of days. The Leopard Geckos tail is were they store their energy in the form of fat. The tail should be plump and the adult tail should resemble the head of the Gecko. When your Gecko is not eating the tail should remain fat and if the tail starts to get thin and loose its fatness, then you should start to keep an eye on them and if the Gecko is not eating within a day or two you should take them to the vet.

This week was a quiet one for us. Lizzy on the other hand had a lot of fun and we laughed with her. earlier this week she was on the bed with me and she decided to climb up on my head. Well, I'm bald and the minute I moved to grab her, she slid right of my head. Luckily, she landed back on the bed. Then later in the week she was trying to climb into the background picture on her tank. As you can imagine, she got very worked up trying and in the end, she had a nap to sleep it off. Lizzy has been eating regularly and has been very active. I will write again later in the week and give you an update.

We Got our Leopard Gecko as a present to our son. She has been a constant source of joy! I hope for many years to come. our children love her and wouldn't trade her for the world. but, as she is a baby and does require a little more attention than an adult but well worth the trouble.
