In March, preparations started for large parties in every major city of the United Kingdom, as well as for smaller ones for countless individual streets throughout the country.

The Silver Jubilee of Elizabeth II marked the 25th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the thrones of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms.

It was celebrated with large-scale parties and parades throughout the United Kingdom, culminating in June with the official “Jubilee Days”, held to coincide with the Queen’s Official Birthday.

This year to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a Proms in the Park events has been arranged for: 2-6pm, 3 June, 2022.

The idea behind the event is to bring the whole community together to enjoy a day of:

Monday, 4th of October, 2021 at 7pm in Llanrhystud Memorial Hall

• Discuss a safety plan for the village
• Discuss a safe route to school for primary & secondary school pupils
• Village bus stops and islands
• A487 B4337 Speed limits
• A487 School Lane junction
• Lack of parking, cars parked each side of the B4337 during busy times of the day e.g. route to school with no 20mph speed restrictions in place.

The Community Council has welcomed support from the community to help address the issues facing the community in the Village relating to Traffic Safety.

To help, I have offered to set up a support group looking at all the traffic and road safety issues. Some of these issues are listed below.

To ensure we capture everyone’s issues we are holding an open evening on 4th October at 7 pm in the Village Hall. The Open meeting is an opportunity to ensure we capture all the community’s concerns and issues.

Any support you could give in the development of the Roads Safety plan to present to the community council, Trunk Roads Agency and Ceredigion County Council would be greatly appreciated.

An opportunity to become the Clerk to Llanrhystud Community Council in Ceredigion.

The Council is looking to appoint a new Clerk to administer its work and finances. Holding a responsible legal and public position, the Clerk will administer the Council’s affairs, the new Clerk/RFO will require drive and determination to administer the work and finances of the Community Council. The Clerk will be the ‘Proper Officer’ and the ‘Responsible Financial Officer’ of the Community Council, responsible for executing their legal, financial and administrative duties.

Holding a responsible public position, the Clerk will administer the Community Council’s affairs and act as representative and ambassador. Good literacy, numeracy, organisational and IT skills are essential.
Bilingual skills are considered essential for the role.

The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate previous administrative experience, strong organisational skills and financial experience, and a commitment to help deliver the Council’s policies and priorities. No two days are the same and you should be prepared to include some evening work. You should be confident to work individually as well as be part of a team.

• Salary – up to £2,400 depending on experience and qualifications.
• Hours of work, average of 20 hours per month.

An average of 20 hours a month, working mainly from home, but able to attend monthly evening face to face meetings in the village. The role may suit those looking for flexible working arrangements.

Prior experience of working as a Town or Community Council Clerk is not essential.
